That was tremendous. It takes a lot of practice to be able to play like that. I know because I played euphonium as well. Very impressive! Thanks for this beautiful music.
Absolutely love this!! He should be world famous, what a fantastic player, so talented 😮😮😮😮. Not for getting the amazing ensemble with him each playing their part.
Hi Daniel. We don't know each other but guess the reason for so many hits is you played this so meticulously and with care, you deserve all the attention. I must add the band was fantastic that night so I've no idea why the rest of my uploads equally haven't taken the same hits, but given time they might. Your band is simply outstanding. You should be very proud. If only I could play the Cornet again as I once did when young but alas the years have taken there toll & stepping away from the SA Band I once served in, has taken its toll. Shame really as when young I was quite good. Now I'm rubbish and could not blow a simple Hymn Tune with style, so I'm guessing the lesson is "Never let that talent slip". Take care my friend and stay safe.
@@danielthomas7629 No seriously your playing is magnificent. Such a talent. I thought SA ISB Euphonium player Derick Kane was the best until I heard you but your equally up there with such eloquent skills and such a lovely tone. Make sure the rest of Black Dyke know your hits as its simply gone crazy with over a thousand views a day. There is many more uploads on that night, so take a look. ua-cam.com/video/2KiA-z2YQHA/v-deo.html May be give this a go Daniel as its a great piece.
Dan, Your playing has had 14,220 hits (views) in just 48 hours - it's gone crazy. So well done. You made this so special backed by your colleagues who are outstanding.
Stunning, I was born not far from Queensbury and Black Dyke Mills. Having moved away in my retirement, it always makes me feel proud to be a Yorkshireman when I hear them play. Such talent and such a beautiful instrument.
wow this takes me back to 1974 when I was in the chase high school band, martin Everest used to play this with one of the band masters a guy called ginger trustler who played the clarinet to accompany martin. it was there party piece.
Man for the whole piece I was thinking, "yeah yeah another **stellar** euphonium player with an amazing tone", then my eyebrows almost entered orbit on that gorgeous last insanely high note. Wow!
Astounded, not only by the fingering of the valves (I don't play, apologise if that is not the correct wording!), but also the knowledge that his lips must have been performing contortions at the speed at which he was playing! A musical treat!
First time I have heard BDM use a different soloist since I heard John Clough do it over 40 years ago, 1967 to be exact. This man does a great job of it
Daniel always makes the instrument almost talk he's just magical with it . Not forgetting the rest of the brilliant musicians who are in the world famous Black Dyke Band. With there great leader Nicholas child's. There always Top class ...
Wow!! Thank god I managed to get the last ticket for their gig at Skipton Town Hall next week...shame it literally was the last ticket, I wanted desperately to share it with somebody I know. Either way I willl loveit!!!
I didn't know what to expect when this came up as a youtube suggestion. Wonderful performance. My primary instrument is trombone but I also play baritone and this guy blew me away.
A greatly underappreciated instrument in the hands of an immensely talented performer with an ensemble that does them justice. So glad I found this.
Definitely not unappreciated in the brass band movement
Do you realize what band you are talking about? This guy wouldn’t be accompanied by this band if he were not first class!
❤
Who's here in November 2024
I play euphonium at my school band and I strive for this tone.
Me too, what grade are you in?
Long tones baby
And his vibrato on some of the notes oh my god!😂😂😂
@@ledariussummers1788 Listen to Glenn Van Looy, he's on another level
This guy's tone!!❤
World-famous band fronted by a premiere soloist! Simply wonderful!
Absolute world class sound, world class technique, Outstanding playing by Daniel. Great accompaniment from the best in the business
SUPERB.............no other word for it .
That was tremendous. It takes a lot of practice to be able to play like that. I know because I played euphonium as well. Very impressive! Thanks for this beautiful music.
Love the way the big boy caresses the instrument like he's holding a newborn.
i was at that concert, in the front row. huge sound.
Elegant tone, technical finesse, great job!!
Wonderful tone and use of vibrato and dynamics in that solo. Great stuff!
Magnificent. This was my instrument through high school and college, and I loved it dearly. This performance was masterful, to say the very least.
That was awesome! Haven’t heard euphonium played so well in a while!!
Fantastic and beautiful tone
Fantastic~~~~~~!!!!
Absolutely love this!! He should be world famous, what a fantastic player, so talented 😮😮😮😮. Not for getting the amazing ensemble with him each playing their part.

I knew this song’s simple melody would lend to bravura variation. Such a beautiful sound in the euphonium, truly a gem.
Amazing ❤
A wonderful, and witty, performance.
あんなに細かい音で早くて高いのにめちゃくちゃ綺麗でほんとに凄い。口が動くのはもちろんピストンの速さも凄い、余裕そうに吹いているのも凄くかっこいい。こんな風に吹けるようになりたい。
Beautiful!!!
The euphonium is the town hero of the band.
Daniel is a true virtuoso!
Wunderbar!!! Danke aus der Schweiz

Wow.. respect.. great sound.. great technic.. greatings from Holland.
Glad you like it!
Really awesome! My sons played everything low brass and one son's primary instrument was the euphonium! Absolutely love that instrument!
Great British sound from a great Euphonium master accompanied by one of the worlds best brass wind bands.
What a tone for the solo cornet ,,,I love it and good work guys 🤝💯
Top class. Massive talent. Thank you.
Well named instrument! I've only ever heard of a euphonium in the words of a song. So impressive - both the instrument and the musician.
I love it!
Love the Eupho. Wow!!! The boy can play- wonderful sound and technique. Makes it sound so easy when it isn't
That euphonius euphonium solo
Outstanding…thank you so much.
Damn!
That’s all I can say after hearing this guy play the heck out of that horn.
wow this takes me back to 1974 when I was in the chase high school band, martin Everest used to play this with one of the band masters a guy called ginger trustler who played the clarinet to accompany martin. it was there party piece.
Absalutaly outstanding pure MASTER of the Euphonium
Man for the whole piece I was thinking, "yeah yeah another **stellar** euphonium player with an amazing tone", then my eyebrows almost entered orbit on that gorgeous last insanely high note. Wow!
I saw this dude playing at Christmas in Oldham !!! Ace 🎼
Astounded, not only by the fingering of the valves (I don't play, apologise if that is not the correct wording!), but also the knowledge that his lips must have been performing contortions at the speed at which he was playing! A musical treat!
World class musician. Sen him in a lot of other pieces, hes one of a kind
Beautiful euphonium sound 🤍

Wow ❤ so amazing so proud to be a euphonium player ❤
Mind boggling. Well done Dan
True talent on display here.
This is an amazing interpretation of a very difficult but interesting piece
Expressive and empressive musicianship.
Beautiful👏🏾
Great to hear this old classic again, amazing sound and tone reminiscent of Alf Wileman!
WONDERFUL SOLO !!!!! I play this instrument, but sadly, nothing like this.
First time I have heard BDM use a different soloist since I heard John Clough do it over 40 years ago, 1967 to be exact.
This man does a great job of it

Don't know why the trolls choose to criticise but its a free world.
Well played Daniel, excellent
Bravo excellent état 👏
Great job Dan! 👏👏👏
Wonderful
So nice to hear the first variation played at the right tempo. Too often it’s rushed through. Great playing.
this wayy to slow tho. john cloughs version is the way to go
Not necessarily way to slow. It is supposed played in a slightly reminiscent tone, which to me means slower rather than faster.
Brilliant Dan.
wow amazing, awesome.
How wonderful…thank you all.👍👍👍
