LOL. The landing style looks all too familiar mate! 🙃 That HE Mini looks to work pretty well. Might have to find the pieces of the HE Pro and try again with it. My AR Mini wing occasionally gets to flapping like a flying fox at some speeds in some wind conditions but I leave the Kopilot gains turned up to that to make dodging the gum trees easier! 😁

I tend to think of it as a "controlled crash". Bought a new 6 pack of UHU Por "just in case"!! Thanks for watching, have a great day!

As well as using a computer you can program it via a programming card. You can see it here : s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DDs7Btd Thanks for watching, have a great day!

I really enjoyed your videos on the Byme-D and the A3 Mini gyros. Your explanations are absolutely first rate and perfectly paced. I have a question I would like to ask. I want to put a gyro on a Radjet 800 so that I can launch it sidearm from the wing rather than use the overhead launch and risk cutting my hand. The aim is for the gyro to correct for torque-roll (and my poor launch technique). I originally thought the Byme-D in stabilize-mode would provide the answer, but after watching your videos, I came to the opinion that it wouldn't work from a hand launch. The A3 mini looks to be much more versatile. Do you think it could counter torque-roll on a hand launch?

Hey thanks! I think the A3 Mini will be fine for that. The ability to set different gain levels for each control surface will help. I mention that here : ua-cam.com/video/8E3CG9Ih5xA/v-deo.html So you can turn up the gain on the aileron to counter the torque roll. Also make sure you have a little "reflex" (a few degrees of up) on the elevons. On some models I go further and program in a "launch mode" on my Tx that adds a bit more up that can be switched out when the model is flying. Have a great day!

Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated, especially the extra tips regarding reflex and the use of a launch mode switch.@@1nformatica

That spar looks flush mounted? If so it's got to effect the air behind it like a rock in a river and produce turbulence over the control surfaces.

Many foam board planes are the same : ua-cam.com/video/hP9se48JFnU/v-deo.html In practice the effect is negligible. As this plane is just used (and abused) as a test platform I am not unduly concerned. Thanks for watching, have a great day!

is it worth buying this? I've been asking myself this question since 2013... I think that if the wind is too strong, it won't fulfill its role. you have to use it with a light wind and in this case you generally don't need a gyro

I believe a gyro is a valuable addition to any aero modeller's arsenal. I have flown models in gale force winds when nobody else in the club would fly by switching the gyro into stabilised mode. It can react to gusts of wind incredible quickly. The A3 Mini has 6 different gyro modes for various purposes all selectable from the transmitter. I used one when I did the maiden flight of my Lancaster model : ua-cam.com/video/9AM6t9kdA48/v-deo.html I took off with it switched off then in flight put it in gyro mode (only corrects for wind) and finally stabilised mode so that I could not bank at too steep an angle as this model is renowned for tip stalling. I suggest you read through the manual to see how versatile this gyro is : www.hobbyeagle.com/manuals/A3Mini_User_Manual_v1.2_en.pdf I am happy to answer any question you may have. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
