The wonder and joy of flight! Your videos really represent this! It's an incredible thing to behold, and we often take it for granted. But it's really thrilling to see an aircraft like this capture the breeze. After years of RC flight myself, I really think RC aircraft flying is a quite exceptional expereince. It's like we can feel the wind and aircraft through the sticks, even tho not connected! To me, it's always amazing!
Just watched this video again after watching it when you first released it. That’s my kind of flying every time. So slow and graceful and such a perfect blend with the music - brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for the model and thank you for sharing it with us.
OMG... the pierrouettes were amazing! This is absolutely one of your greatest hits John!!!!! I have only imagined conditions and a plane like that. What you just uploaded would be a personal high of my flying "career" ! Entire video, music, editing and camera angles were outstanding! This was professional quality in every aspect! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Now that is one big nice old fashioned glider. I guess, just take the 30cm kit plan and put the photocopier on max. Lovely job and beautifuly scenic and relaxing. Thanks - keep em coming.
Of all of your builds I've watched in the last few years, this is still one of my favorites. It just ticks so many of the boxes. She's big, her presence can't be ignored. She's got all those curves and tapered in all the right places. On the grass, or on the wing, it doesn't matter. The good looks are undeniable. And when you're putting her through her paces, in gentle conditions such as here, it's as if a slow motion ballet has been hung in midair. The impossibility of that becomes a display of grace and elegance. Keep it good Sir.
Thank you. It’s definitely one of my favourite models to fly. When you first fly it, after flying a different model, it takes a while to recalibrate your brain as it just seems to hang in the sky.
Phantastisch, man könnte fast glauben, ein junger Mann führt sein geliebtes Haustier an die frische Luft. Video, Schnitt und Choreographie sind einsame Spitze und wurden sofort abonniert und gesichert. Alles Gute für John !
I am going to do a build log on RC Groups, username ASAT, in the Electric Sailplanes forum, would love it if you looked in and offered any tips, or advise as I build it….
@@SlopeRCGliders It's remarkable when you consider the differential airflow above and below the wings that there's enough pressure variation to sustain flight, even at that speed ... it also says a lot about your ability to build in lightness !

John, you make it look so easy. I love this model and I finally flew mine 3 weeks ago. I have the leprechaun v2 from Dane RC, I installed the electric motor because it needed so much nose weight to balance. I figured if I'm adding 500 g to the nose it might as well be usable. Anyway there's so much lift in the wings that it still floats really well. I just need to get used to flying such a large model.
Gracias y saludos.
Inspired by your awesome videos of this magnificent airframe, I bought the Dane RC leprechaun V3 kit and I wondered if you’d flown and were in a position to give an opinion on the version with ailerons as it has the option to build with or without them. I love a 2ch glider and was captivated by the beautiful simplicity of this is a 2ch model but am unsure if it’s spoiling a classic model to add ailerons or if I’m shooting myself in the foot building without. Of course there’s always the option of building 2 pairs of wings :/ Great vids and awesome models!
I’ve never built or flown one of the Dane RC copies of the modified Leprechaun but i do know that it weighs significant more than mine. It’s over twice the weight of my model but from watching videos it still seems to float around nicely. Because of the type of flying I like doing, I tried to build mine as light as possible (the wing is one piece etc) but the model would be impractical and too delicate for most people. I don’t think adding ailerons would necessarily spoil the model. The whole idea behind mine was that it’s just for flying in light winds, and adding ailerons just adds weight and complexity. When the wind picks up I will always fly something with ailerons as you need the extra control. But I simply swap to a different model.
Magnifique John !

Thank you! I don’t fly it very often but it’s definitely one of my favourites.
This is the best video and glider ever 👏🏼 Enjoyed watching it so much!!
I love the sense of peace I get when I watch gliders sailing on the wind.
When you have such a nice flight, one can't help but having a face like yours at the end of the video. Congrats!!

I love all your videos, but this i think is the best, certainly the one i enjoyed the most, a beautiful modern version of a free flight classic

Great flying. Great camera work. So hypnotic.
Thanks for the New Video of my favorite model
What a beautiful flight. Congratulations ..
Love that tail assembly.
Great flying and camera skills again! It just floats around effortlessly. 👍😊
This is extremely cool. I wish I had a place like that. And so beautiful oldie planes!
Love how it just hangs there 👍👍🇺🇸
Another winner John. Stunning camera work.

@@SlopeRCGliders really outstanding piece of work John...greeting from the Chesapeake Bay

Big, slow under cambered floater with a huge tail. Beautiful!
Beautiful, graceful, mesmerizing to watch. You a one heckuva pilot! I just ordered the Dane RC V3 - looks as much fun to build as it will be to fly!
Thank you and good luck with the build. I’d be interested to hear how the Dane Rc kit goes together.

Very Nice John It look like you only just made it back on several occasions. 👍🏻
Marginal conditions with a big glider is beautiful
Very serene!
Wow, that’s good stuff… I would have stayed there for hours n been late for dinner…. Excellent!
a whirlwind of emotions in a natural slowed speed ... you always know how to overcome yourself!

Enhorabuena por el fantástico vuelo y vídeo. Me ha encantado 😍😍😍

Just point it gently where you want it to go ..as long as the airs are light they will fly themselves.
Excellent plane and excellent video!

Thanks for that. I’ll think on it some more, but I’m tempted to save the weight in that case. 👍
Wow!!!
With such a big stabilisator and this Hollow foil, i imagine the glider is centered very back?.
Yes, the CG is about half way back on the wing.
Que elegancia

While this is enjoyable to watch, I’m thinking an FPV version flying long range would be a good next step.
