you have made a wonderful job of deconstructing your montage into sensible steps. and it represents the technical side of video making. the hardest part is the storytelling. putting it all together. i could suggest you add further content on this specific video and make a complete series out of it.
I feel like I saw this video at just the right time. I've been worried about filming myself, but its good to see that there are people like you out there who also feel the same way about filming yourself and are able to get amazing shots! Thankyou!
I am always alone or with two kids aged 6 and 4, so this is an AWESOME video to help me! Love the trick about getting the camera to focus on your hand, then stand where your hand was. This was so helpful!!!!!
Man, I'm so glad you've become so much more yourself in your new videos. I get why you were doing this before, seems like everyone was, but you're so much more authentic now. Keep doing what you're doing. We love you!
Great share. Two additional tips: 1. Provided your camera has wifi, you can use the manufacturer's smartphone app to check if you are in focus while in the frame. I have a Panasonic and I can focus manually via the app as well. 2. Turn on "Focus Peaking", this has been invaluable in giving me a sense of what is in focus. Instead of just relying on my vision, this feature highlights (you choose the colour) what is in focus. This way you have a very prominent indication of what is in focus and what is not.
I'm about to film myself for an assignment that's due soon, at first I had a lot of anxiety about getting it done but now I'm hype for the challenge! Thanks for the tips! Checking out your short next!

I just got myself my first full frame (a7iii) and have been wanting to explore doing short films with family or myself if I'm in a remote but beautiful area. However, I just didn't really know how to NOT make it look like a home video. This was an excellent and simple instructional. I even went back to search for your "reminder" video to watch, I watched it several times. It gives me encouragement :). Thank you! Off to watch more of your videos ... Good stuff man. Wish I had watched this before I was trying to shoot neighborhood scenes of myself on the way to a Mural PRoject.
