Thank you so much for putting together this thorough walkthrough. I had zero soldering experience before undertaking this repair, and was able to do it successfully with really no issues. One thing I did find helpful tho was another video mentioned using a hair dryer instead of a heat gun to soften the adhesive without warping the plastic cover. I started out using the heat gun on low but quickly stopped when it started warping the plastic, and switched to the hair dryer and had no further issue. Thank you again, my Bose qc25s are probably my favorite headphones I've ever had and it was highly rewarding to be able to repair them instead of having to spend $300 on new ones
Fantastic one! Thanks a lot: I just had my BOSE QC25 failing yesterday and I was like "Oh no, why does it happen to me now?! Am I gonna spend 300 dollars again in a new headphone?!?" I'm gonna order new drivers now and, hopefully I will be able to repair it like you did. Thanks man! 😀
@@TechscrewDIY Yes: I bought these amazing headphones in 2017. I have one question if you don't mind: why is it necessary to put some glue where the wires go through the cap ( 4mn43s) so that no air can come in?
Thank you, man. My left speaker gave out a few minutes ago. I am going to order a replacement headphone speaker and follow your steps to hopefully solve the issue. Much appreciated
Thanks for this video. My left speaker came loose and was rattling, but it still worked. The heat gun made quick work of getting that cover off the speaker and some quick epoxy will now hold it in place.
After 5 years of very intensive use my bose 35II right speaker died. with help of this video managed to repair it 😁😁 Sadly i do hear the slightest but of quallity loss with the one ear but after a few minutes of listening barely noticable. Thanks alot!
@@HerkinYo Hey, i basicly put in the new speaker without properly closing the seames around them losing audio quallity, i opened them back up and put them in better with closing all the seames and now it playes beautifully. no loss in audio quallity as far as i can hear. noise canceling is also way better now. i'd suggest just getting whatever you can get your hands on to with most ratings.
Thank you very much for this video. You just saved me 330€ ! Me weldings are not as pretty than yours and will prbably not hold a very long time but now, I know how to fix it. I don't see any difference with the speakers I bought. I didn't dare to buy those from aliexpress, I bought those from amazon de. Thx a lot dude !!!
Note to QC35 II owners: It seems Bose changed the desgin of the speaker cover a bit, I had to break 2 melted down screwed around the speaker housing + the glue isn't nearly as weak as shown in this video, you will have to heat up the glue quite a bit and use more force to pry it open. Good luck
I am facing the same peoblem...the design is changed a bit and i see 2 screw like taba there but no screw inside. Did you just broke these off? And what did you use to melt the glue. Regular hairdryer? And did you remove Any circuit boards when you heated the unit. I am little bit afraid to heat the electronics And i am thinking of desoldering some wires first to move them away.
Hey, there. on the left side speaker, the cover has a goldish strip that says wolfcastle left aux flex that covers the speaker cover, how do you remove this without damagin, thaks! its de qc35
They won't turn on after doing this. The lights would turn on before doing this, so did I accidently disconnect something with the electronics? How do I check? Thanks!
yes, but you have to understand that they are not the originals, and if the sound is significantly different from other side, you will have to replace both drivers to get a symmetrical sound.
So I've managed to repair it but I have to say it's not exactly as good as what it used to be and I think I know why: I guess it is because I didn't put enough glue on the wires and around the new speaker, hence permitting a bit of exterior noise to come inside! Firstly I didn't understand why you say to put glue on these parts, but now I understand (or maybe I'm wrong? I don't know, please correct me if I'm wrong). But it's still pretty well, I'd say it works at 85% quality compared to what it was but, hey, I saved a lot of money so that's ok :) Plus I will probably try to open it again to add a bit more glue on it and fix it so it's 100% as good as before :)) Thx again!

@@Rough090 of course, but remember, if you change only one speaker driver, there may be slight nuances in the sound, so you may have to change both speaker drivers if you want the perfect result.

hi I have a harman kardon fly anc and my speaker is dead but I can't find replacements
then you can replace both speaker drivers, so that the sound is balanced, just choose the right size drivers for your headphones.
@TechscrewDIY then it should be fairly simple to solder back and will my anc still work?
Big thank you !! It worked !
perfect

this is important, otherwise the phase will not match and the headphones will sound weird
I want a link to buy, thank you 😊

Nice Job
Heyy I broke the wire that connects the speaker, I want to order some of it but can’t seem to find what the name of that wire is
you can use any old headphone wire.
I think this one is fake
of course, because bose dont sell new replacement parts. Buy new headphones for $200 or repair and dont find sound difference.
