I was a doubter at first but the L/R dynamic is strong, they're both good characters and they're smart enough to play it up on camera. They can actually commit to the persona and keep people engaged, I'm glad to be proven wrong about the show

The problem is the more connections you make the less likely you are to call out their shit - the literal bread and butter of Dick. He should stay an outsider looking in.

I do find it amusing that Vito is concerned about if the show is good or not... He's basically saying "I do a weekly podcast that makes me more than enough money to pay my expensive Los Angeles rent every month, but I just don't know if people like it or not." Yes, the show is good or else you would be doing a podcast with Boogie and Wings of Redemption.
I do criminal law for a living. Really enjoyed the argument after the show about criminal background checks in housing. Renters can and do run criminal background checks all the time for denials of housing, and it’s a huge hurdle for those involved in the criminal justice system.
I work in criminal law as an attorney. Landlords can and do run background checks and will deny a lease based on a conviction. Happens all the time, and it's a big problem for those wishing to obtain housing.
The dog segment had me in tears. Not the story that is terrible but their reaction is hilarious 😂

None of it explains why an owner should have to follow imposed limitations on who they want and do not want to consider as an applicant for rental properties.
It’s the same threat on an owner where a black worker is fired for being tardy or ungovernable, and so, they retaliate against the employer for “discriminating based on race”.

Does Vito think that in 2024 if we revoked the civil rights act every place of business would put up “no blacks” signs? Even though that would improve drive thrus immensely (according to Vito). California would put up “no whites” signs more likely. I legit think 90% of places would not put up any kind of “no x” signs.

This show is great
When I was younger, I recall someone siting a study that determined that when a criminal background check wasn't permitted, they are more likely to assume you are a criminal if black. Sounds true, but I can't find anything about it with a quick search. I did see there isn't anything on the federal level, so I do wonder if there are states that do have employment or housing laws like this or maybe its just a study that only involves specific companies that use this practice.
Sadly, if it happens to be a thing in a random state like Georgia, The Living Tribunal would still rule in Vito's favor.

Vito, this is going to sound insane, but you should do a two week water fast (or longer; until you feel hungry after the first wave of "hunger") to rewire how you interact with food. You're going to lose muscle, but you've also got enough fat to burn off that you won't go to Greenland. The whole purpose of your body storing that fat is to burn it in a survival scenario, and we all know you're not going anywhere near the woods any time soon, so you might aswell force your body into burning that shit away, teach your body what being hungry actually feels like, and force yourself into healthy eating at the end to avoid refeeding syndrome and kidney stones.
This is great advice. I had to do this after pancreatitis from too much drinking and bad diet. Backed up colon and all. I went a week and a half with no food and another 3 or 4 days on no sugar liquid diet. Broth and tea mostly. Came out of the hospital a new man. Shit out the equivalent of a baby Vito and could see my dick again. Of course neither me or Vito need our penises anymore but I'm much older and done making bastards
Stop. Just stop. He wants to be unhealthy. Advice isnt what he wants, he wants fatty foods and sugar.
Gradual small to moderate changes are a safer idea and easier to stick to. His 40 minute biking is good. He can actually still eat quite a bit and expect to lose weight (over 2000 calories a day). He just needs to track the calories and fix hunger and cravings if he's going past the calorie amount. He doesn't need to completely cut out food groups or do giant fasts.
It's very achievable.

Dick is right about skankfest. If you guys made friends with all the other podcasters and comics it would infringe on this show’s “drama” element (which is the real audience magnet anyway). If you made friends with other podcasters then you wouldn’t criticize them when they need to be, you also wouldn’t criticize any of their friends to avoid disrupting your “friendships” in the industry. Reflecting on your careers; Vito, how has networking worked out for you so far? Dick seems to have done pretty well for himself on his island, so much so he rescued you after you washed up on his shore. If you’re not “in the club” already and you don’t have an “In” with CAA or some agency already than you’re not going to find success appealing to the “in crowd” but you will continue to succeed if you just focus on appealing to your audience and DELIVERING ON YOUR PROMISES (SUPERKILLER).

Weight loss is pain and mental fortitude. You almost have to say the same mantra every second “food is fuel, not pleasure” and reprogram your brain. I hope vito sorts his health. It’s a feat though.
