Is anybody else bored by every single thing the mainstream does? Last night I watched a Twitch livestream of rioting in the north-west of England. I quite enjoyed that, but it was more of a special than a series.
Did Vito have a low blood sugar episode for 3 days? If hes pre diabetic or doesnt know hes almost diabetic, the ozempic might have tanked his blood sugar
No they can't, because the meta-narrative of the movie is that it's a love letter to Fox. So only Fox or Fox adjacent marvel movie characters can show up. It's why punisher was referenced but wasn't actually in the movie even though Thomas Jane could've been asked to be in it.
Vito: Your comic is salvageable, once it gets to the SK sections it has something. But the first part with the girl and the cook are boring nonsense. Start with the bank robbery, then go to the diner (use the time to establish an emotional reason to take them to the next universe), then have the supe arrive. Work out the location of the tumor that caused you to think a weird talking cook talking about hookers required more panels than doing your actual story, and cut out the rest of the comic that was influenced by it.
Yeah that's fair. Swap those two sections. Just go in chronological order instead of doing flashbacks to minutes earlier like Isom. Opening with Beck at work adds nothing.
1:03:12 "that sick feeling" Dick described of the guy trying to be funny all the time for attention and validation made me realize this is the Bert Kreischer of movies.
Cassandra Nova was created originally in the comics almost 25 years ago -- via New X-men by Grant Morrison & Frank Quitely, first appearance issue #114 :)
Guess I'm the contrarian: Its funny, I felt like Logan was half a movie... It was a shit second half and was never a proper ending. And I guess if you were a bit older, and had seen Blade, Daredevil and then Elektra so long ago then you might feel a bit different about the ending montage. They were ordinary movies, but nowhere near as ordinary as the last 5 or 6 MCU movies... And the MCU considered them like they never existed. Only they DO exist. It was a blast seeing Jennifer Garner and Wesley Snipes (I'm not sure if that Gambit bloke was the original one from one of the Wolverine movies way back).... I was happy to see the FOX universe snub the MCU universe, and better for the fact they had those characters in it, rather then She Hulk, Sam Wilson Cap, female Loki, Captain Marvel, Echo etc. And the message was hammered home clearly with it being Johnny Storm instead of Captain America. It was FUN. I wanted FUN, because the movies don't do 'fun' anymore. So when you have that and Wolverine as well, then I'm happy - because what we got was a Deadpool style movie.. Its supposed to be weird. Much better than Deadpool 1 or 2.
My grandfather told me a long time ago that we were not made for this world. He told stories about the starships that brought him and my grandmother here, how it was only meant to be for a few years to support his planet's war, and that they were supposed to go back. "We're not supposed to be here!" is something he would say with sharp resentment in his last days. He wouldn't say much of anything else. All he remembered was that the starships were late. It made me sad to see his final days spent in bitterness, but I suppose I can't blame him. His old stories about the Earth's oceans, rivers, and endless forest sounded like paradise. Soil so pure you could toss a seed wherever you wish and it would sprout into a tree that would feed you forever... sounds all too good to be true. Who wouldn't want to go back to that? Who would want to leave... Growing enough food here for us and our cattle is backbreaking work, but it's all we got. I don't want to burden my children with heartbreaking stories about a world where it doesn't have to be like this. I've hidden this note along with the last books we have left. Because hope is a cruel burden when we know the starships never pass by here anymore. I won't let the next generation feel like outsiders in the only world they'll ever know.
I enjoyed Deadpool 3, but I'm still not 100% if the 'anchor being' plotline was true in universe or not... Paradox was running rogue wanting to nuke no sacred timelines, seeming like the anchor being's was BS but then at the end the timeline was 'recovering'... Then I was expecting Deadpool to be the real anchor being, but it was recovering due to logan? And how exactly does taking a non-anchor being Logan to a universe with a universe without an actual anchor being Logan... That's like the foundation is destroyed from your house, so you steal someone's roof to replace it... Also why didn't Deadpool just grab a random Logan and shove him into his timeline without talking to him? The time travel ruined it, it woulda worked better with only the multiverse... Also explain Paradox's plan? Why does he want Deadpool in the sacred timeline? Doesn't the sacred timeline have one? Also that Deadpool dying being held by iron man in what we assume to be the sacred timeline?
I think the anchor being can change. Like Deadpool became the anchor being after saving the universe. It's not clear because if bringing Logan in from a different universe worked then there should have been no issue with it in the first place. Like if it worked then Paradox never needed to destroy their universe, it's like getting caught stealing a candy bar and thinking the only thing you can do is murder anyone involved
Was Deadpool this strong in the previous movies? Like he was throwing those blunt adamantium bones through guys' chests. They never really did anything like that before.
I didn’t grow up with back to the future and they’re amazing films! Idk with dick, he has some of the most concise perfect takes in movie, then the most retwrded takes. Keeps me on my feet
He just pretends to hate improv because he's salty about getting kicked out of UCB and he's only gotten like one acting role because of how much of an asshole he is. I still love him, but we all know he grew up watching Whose Line Is It Anyway? and cackled his head off.
Vito, for crying out loud, the first SK chapter you put out is a fun read. Narratively speaking, you're already close to an 8/10. Even if the art's not on point, readers will be forgiving of such flaws if story is cohesive and doesn't break its own rules - something there isn't even the slightest indication of up to Meteorman pulling up on SK in the diner after you know what happened. Maybe keep the throwaway "inside baseball" jokes to a minimum. Other than that, you're golden.
I agree with the random sprinkling of well know music throughout the film being a problem. The only film that gets a pass is the first Shrek. As someone that watched that as an age appropriate child a few years after it came out and as an uncle minding nephews, it's a masterclass of appealing to everyone, but not pandering a single time. I'm just waiting for the eventuality of them making an edgy live action remake where Shrek is just a black guy and is ostracised and forced into the swamp for being different, with Timothy Chalamet as Lord Farquaad and Peter Dinklage as Donkey.
Vito, I see you took my advice and released half the comic in black and white. I think the idea was to come out before Deadpool and not right after it, but good job anyway. I look forward to part 2 in 2025!
Frankly I think all of the issues can be cleared up by adding one scene at the end... That the TV Villain was actually following orders, and despite how worried he felt he was told that this was how it was going to play out - maybe it was the only way to get rid of Cassandra Nova.... And to reestablish Wolverine in a universe.
On the bomb threat train thing, my friends mother when she couldn't be assed to goto work (and other people did it too) in london in the 90s, just dropped her bag walked a few steps away and started screaming who's bag is that?! I agree it's an odd movie, the Deadpool actor really gives a shit and just loves being the character but Wolverine being there is the exact opposite. I remember even thinking through the movie that I didn't really understand what was going on since it felt like they got bored and thought they could just use the initial plot as a jumping off point for a different plot. It reminds me of a tv show, where they introduce a problem for the first 5 minuets and it jump starts the rest of the episode. If they just cut it into like 7 episodes and fleshed out the whole void and bald lady thing it could've been really good. The void is a really fun idea, it's like the rated R version of the Disney vault but they only use it as a way to change the scenery and make it look like the characters are going on an adventure. All that being said, I think it's still pretty good, opening fight/ slaughter is legitimately very funny and it really does a good job at setting the tone. Also please stop trying to make deadpool a sympathetic character who feels love for his (bitch) girlfriend and loser companions. I just want a psychopath.
Hearing you describe this movie makes me only want to skip to the fight scenes, when I find a theatrical copy (free) online. Tired of supporting garbage.
I heard about the plot issues in advance, so I went into it with Family Guy special episode energy and it more or less matched and I enjoyed it well enough. Objectively bad movie, but it was fun.

Man, after an hour of listening to this and it feels every bit of what the FNT and G&G Zeros would usually be saying about TV and movies, only because they would probably like it meant you are obliged to go the complete opposite way. This review seems almost spiteful and "needing" to be that way. Let's bring it closer to home... You guys really need to lighten up, you're sounding like Eric, G&G and FNT when they go off after hyper-analysing everything to the point of it being all being personal slights against you. You're falling into the same attitude (and trap).
@@WigglyMcWiggly But it isn't, unless you are looking for The Godfather, Casablanca, To Kill A Mockingbird etc, at which point you must be pretty dumb to have gone into the cinema if you had any concept of what you were going to see . If you micro-analysed every movie in such a way absolutely nothing will get through. Its a Deadpool movie - it follows Deadpool 'Logic' and methodology, except for one through-line in relation to the motive of the villain - its clear he wanted to cause something and gave everyone the precisely right stuff to stop it... The only thing that was achieved was they got rid of their biggest problem (Cassandra Nova), which I think was the plan all along.... The point is, saying "I am a fan and I don't like this Deadpool movie" sounds exactly like the SJW invasion of comics with their "we like your hobby, only we don't like EVERYTHING about your hobby." Simple translation: They never liked the hobby. Dick in particular should have realised that he simply doesn't like Deadpool conceptually. Stuff like this (and a significant amount more) always happens in Deadpool comics - it made the first two movies 'lacking' in that they didn't go far enough. This review was more like one of "The Zero's" reviewing a 'WOKE' movie, mixed in with saying 'Oh, I'm a fan' like an SJW. This review went as long as the movie did, and its pretty clear this review had MORE cringe, MORE disrespect and MORE bile. It also had less humor than the actual movie (actually this review had none - and that's a bit of a problem in itself). Now, Biggest Problem In the Universe is entertaining, but man this sticks out like a sore thumb - they had a bad one with this - fine, don't like it - so don't let it make you become the type of people you mock relentlessly!!!
The biggest problem with Deadpool 3 is that it was finished. I can only enjoy superhero fiction that’s seven months late and half-completed.
