Very nice picks: I've played and loved 13 Sentinels (THE gem of the PS4), Brigandine, Banner Saga Trilogy (Ash of Gods is not that bad either), Warhammer Mechanicus (much better than Deathwatch, Phoenix Point, Disgaea 5 (the best remains Disgaea 2 on PS2 imo), VC 4 (I highly suggest the first trilogy as well), PoE II (the first one is good as well), Wasteland 3 (the second one, although perfectible, is quite enjoyable), Xcom 2 (Enemy unknown & Within are masterpieces of the previous generation) and Divinity: Original Sin 2 (I don't know if this Belgian game is the best ever made, but not far for sure. Divinity 1 is also incredibly good). I will give a try to your other suggestions :)
For those who prefer a more realistic setting, Phantom Doctrine is a great spy game set in the early 80’s cold war. You play as a team leader of a rogue CIA or KGB operative (after completing a full game, you can play as MOSSAD) trying to uncover a global conspiracy. In this universe, MKUltra type of experiments were actually successful; so there are sleeper agents that can be triggered by a control phrase, there are brainwashing techniques etc. Great paranoia atmosphere. The game has many flaws but it’s a lot of fun. Two things 1- the combat setting might seem strange at first ( no to hit: you shoot, you hit; damage is evaluated by weapon type, cover and awareness of target, and flanking. ) 2- the tutorial is highly incomplete and only covers the combat aspect; i strongly recommend getting the online pdf for everything else.
This was a fantastic video. Great list. Some more unknown games, mixed with some more popular ones. Currently playing DoS2 for the 1st time. But now I'm interested in Atom RPG!
Take a look at Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children, if you haven't already. I'd say it definately deserves to be on a list like this, though its not on PS4
too bad there isn't anything similar to Fire Emblem on ps4.... I guess there's the DioField Chronicles coming up soon but the gameplay is quite different.
I had played a decent bit of D2 but never finished it, I suppose I just wish it had a bit more of typical D&D classes, like being able to directly make and play a warlock, cleric, druid and so on. Xcom is a game I want to get into at some point, wish there was more tactical games.
D:OS2 was too wordy for me. Too much time reading and listening and not enough time playing. I get that’s what a lot of RPG players like, but it’s not for me. I prefer a good book or a good game. Not a game that tries to be a book.
Invisible Inc is the most underrated turn based game ever. Superb.
Hey thanks for the list, this is cool to see for PS4 specifically
Mutant Year Zero is the best tactical rpg I’ve played. Love it
Found your channel after looking for some new and old jrpg/rpg games to play. Instantly subbed
Awesome, thank you!

I love Wasteland 3, and have downloaded, but not played, Warhammer Mechanicus... I'll fire it up this weekend. Good list.

Love XCOM 2 but I can’t seem to get into divinity 2, idk why but it just bores me.
