Let's be real for a minute. A lot of these angry fans ranting about what Chester would think are the same fans who trashed his last album and called him a sellout weeks before he died.
@@chrispixx What do you mean the band didn't pick up on it? You think they didn't know about Chester's depression & mental health issues for years now? Dude's been singing about his problems ever since Hybrid Theory
It's pretty standard to be against trafficking as it is against murder or theft, but when did Chester ever state he was going on a crusade against trafficking? He didn't, and it all of that nonsense tied back to right wing conspiracies during the 2016 election generated by Russian troll farms.
She responded, but didn't distance herself from the church, which still completely breaks this deal for me personally. Especially considering Chester's philosophy and method of passing.
Im into dead sara for some years and there was never any statement on scientology.......i assume she isnt a member anymore since she is openly gay. But she was born into it and its probably a very hard and maybe dangerous thing to distance or even talk about it considering your family (parents, sister) is still in it.
@Bel6863 Did I say "all churches" ? to say chester "couldn't handle life" and yet was more well known, loved, and successful than 99% of the pop. is pretty hilarious ngl
The biggest disappointment in this entire fiasco is how the "fans" who are all about honoring Chester's memory seem to have forgotten the number 1 lesson his death taught us - Be respectful of others, because you never what they might be going through. If you don't like something, sure, voice your opinion and politely step away instead of harassing, inciting negativity and outright verbally attacking them. You don't know what's going on, you don't have the whole story, you'll never have the whole story. As an addendum - listen to the damn lyrics!
We do know what's going on. She showed up to the arraiment and intimidated rape victims. She never apologized to the rape victims, never mentioned Danny by name at all. It's a non apology, apology.
@@russellward4624 Well, first I'd like a source that isn't a reddit or X/Twitter post. Next, I'd ask why she did that in the first place. "Because she's evil"? Come on... We don't have the full story, just like we didn't with Chester until it was too late. Listen to the lyrics.
If only you knew how deep this actually went though. The problem is most of us know most of the story of what's going on. It's been exposed by scientologists and people who know her personally and were there many times when she did these things. So it's hard to support her in linkin park who are a band that was all about mental health when she is part of an organization that is 100% anti mental health and doesn't believe it's a real thing
Never cared for linkin park much. But the one performance that floored me was when Chester was singing Crawling, and Cornell walks onstage and sings it with him, doing his own verse. Omg it was so good. Rip both of you!❤
Chris's performance on that song was mediocre at best. You definitely have a bias, lol. Cornell's voice was fantastic on his own. But, that live rendition of the song sucked. Thier voices didn't gel at all together.
She didn't just "support a friend" and then realize her mistake. This isn't just something from her past or a freedom of religion thing. Growing Up In Scientology is a UA-cam channel that can explain this shit with Emily.
I can proudly say I never made fun of Chester or linkin park, idk why people did that so much, I have made a few jokes about them being mainstream, but all bands that blow up become mainstream and take a more mainstream sound. “What I’ve done” “leave out all the rest” the transformers soundtracks were all beautiful songs, hardcore rock and metal fans are just really harsh and hate when any band becomes any bit more mainstream or radio friendly.
I don’t recall people “making fun” of him much at all, & criticizing the music is valid bc opinions are subjective. They undeniably got very generic at times, with OML especially, & the backlash the music itself got was completely warranted, they’re known for being creative & experimental & having a unique sound, the last album was anything but that
Been LP fan since 2000 sorry don't even have a clue what your talking about. Their music changed over the decades just what happens. I don't like all their music that is why I have a playlist on my phone.
What happened to Tom Cruise when he was going through the ringer for being part of Scientology? Not much. He freaked out on Oprah and then years later he made a new top gun and no one said anything. There is no accountability. These people will do what they want.
And that affects her as a performer how? Personally I am more focused on the music and seeing the direction of the band rather than the activist, cancelling, BS.
I'm so disturbed by all of the people saying "The only people upset about this are not real Linkin Park fans". I've been a fan for 21 years. I've loved every album they've made. Their music has helped me through some of the darkest times in my life, which includes my time being groomed by a cult and being abused throughout my whole childhood. I was actually excited about everything and supportive of this new step until all of these concerns came out. I've seen the toxic "fans" who are just bashing them and being cruel simply because they don't like the idea of a new singer, but that is not what all of us are doing. A lot of us, as survivors of abuse and assault, have very real concerns and are very disturbed by the responses and answers we've gotten so far. I related to Chester on a very personal level many years before I really understood why, and I want to believe that the band wouldn't betray that, but the response I've seen has just been really concerning and upsetting as a survivor.
I'm a csa survivor. This is my new crusade. wtf did linkin park think they were doing putting this harraser of victims in front of us? I saw red reading that 'apology'.
I knew like nothing about her, I just found it on Spotify and gave it a go. I really liked the song and especially her vocals, but after hearing this I'm not so sure I wanna hear it again
@@nightknght Can you provide evidence of the harassing of victim's? I've only seen Cedric's comment and he doesn't mention Emily as a harasser only that it was fellow followers. If there's more evidence then I'd like to see it. I just want more hard evidence other then one comment and I can't find any others. As for the csa I'm sorry you went through that and hope you healed or doing better. I'm just trying to have an actual conversation and get more information.
Thank you for saying this as a survivor myself I don't understand this then picking her? That church she is still in hide what that actor Danny did for years before charges against him n she was friends with him during that whole time!! Only reason she distanced herself from him was because they all the famous friends were being cancelled for going to court supporting him n she was trying to try to clean up her image. She still doesn't believe in anything that chester sang about as it's against her religion!! Her religion doesn't believe in PTSD or any mental health problems!! Everything Chester sang about!! That's what I don't understand!?!
Chester’s poetry got me through a lot. His trauma he carried to the very end was because he was assaulted as a child. Linkin Park would then pick someone who is in a human trafficking cult, a cult that covers up child assault and rape. Scientologist also believe that there are no victims that if something bad happens to you that you must of done something to pull it in - so what did Chester do you cause that assault on him? Scientologist also believe that mental health issues are fake and it’s made up by psychiatrist so they can push meds. Emily looks down on Chester and this doesn’t honoring Chester at all. Now let’s talk about her so called apology. Did she mention Danny Masterson in it? No… by doing that it keeps her safe pointed from Scientology. Did she say she believes Danny Masterson’s victims? No… again this puts her at a distance. She stands for everything Chester didn’t like
@@Annettespetessentials I’m not addressing the point, I’m addressing the first few words of your statement that seem to allude to Chester being the poetic songwriter behind all their songs, which wasn’t exactly case to be completely accurate

How could Linkin Park NOT do a check on her backstory, searching for any possible drama, controversy, or accusations? Lol. I remember Cedric's story many moons ago.
Do you really think LP didn't know about this before accepting her?? LP has deemed her deserving of another chance and are still promoting her and backing her as part of the band. If you don't like it, tough.
@@lperockerBackground checks are done by companies before hiring their selected ones. Linkin Park technically being a powerhouse name could have certainly done one as well. It would've been applicable also.
PR Damage control that was really a piss poor statement especially since she didn't call him out by name plus still followed him on Instagram up until yesterday. Linkin park is going to do what they want but Have to deal with the ramifications of this choice.
@Phalvesaurus she Supposedly distance herself from him, that would be getting rid of them on all socials. I genuinely liked the first single. My biggest issue is the Scientology. It is a horrible quite frankly a. Cult and the fact that it's it's been Said that she not only supported a convicted rapist. She also harassed and fear-mongered other victims that came forward that were in Scientology in the courtroom to the point where the court officer or whatever said that the only time he ever seen such bad behavior was with gangs.
She never supported a *convicted rapist*. She supported a friend who was accused of a crime and then she cut off contact when he was convicted. Y'all look like boomers who believe everything on the internet.
Spoken with who? Why does she intentiinaly not mention who shes talking about? She never says Dannys name. She never apologized for intimidating the victims. Its a typical corperate non apology.
@@janskala22 I do love how everyone is jumping on this whilst forgetting it's easy to comment on something when you're not involved not thinking of the fallout to her and her loved ones. It's a cult that's acted aggressively to ex members (killed cedric bixler's dog for example).
@@gleebybooer Bit more engrained than that, person is brainwashed, I grew up in a cult (not scientology) until I was able to leave during university, acting aggressively will only make the person more hardline as that's their comfort zone.
How would she know? I'm pretty sure the reason that creepy guy keeps her in that fenced in property is so she can't communicate with anyone else in that cult. She's been seen in public before a couple of times, but with a couple of guys assumed to be security. She supposedly has a lot of power with what she knows, but people that actually use to be in that cult say it's more likely she wouldn't try and leave if she was given the chance. If the gate was opened and she could just walk out, she wouldn't do it. That's not how it works. These people are f'in in the head.

I’d like to make this point: it’s very hard to leave the church of Scientology, and they’re known for harassing and sending lawsuits to people who speak out against them, to me, it doesn’t make sense to join one of the biggest bands in the world, then potentially put yourself and the band at risk of a lawsuit from the church. The only way to be 100% sure if she’s still in the church is if she’s questioned about it in an interview or makes a donation to the church. Until a further statement from either the band or Emily comes out, keep an open mind.
Which is a valid point. But the statement makes it look like either LP or Emily is doing damage control. Badly, at that. I do agree she's in a predicament regarding that cult. I also have to think along the lines of school bullying. If you keep doing nothing about the bully, the bully is guaranteed to keep bullying. That's her versus the cult as it stands currently.
@@BenHughes81 while I agree with the school yard bullying thing, I’m going to have to say, she’s only been in the band for a little over a day, and I’d expect it takes longer than that to make a response to the Scientology stuff, considering you have to walk a fine line when talking about them to not be labeled as an enemy. From what I’ve seen (which isn’t really a ton, just a few articles and Reddit posts) I feel it’s more of her not wanting to upset the church and face their wrath. Again I’m personally keeping an open mind and waiting for more information to come out about her, if it turns out she still actively supports the church I probably won’t support the band anymore, but all we can really do at this point is take her at her word, and then let her actions do the rest of the talking.
Yeah unfortunately you're right, especially considering how much hate there's been in such a quick time I imagine it's difficult to respond well and we don't know Emily in person so we don't know her individual situation with Scientology and if she actually wants to be a part of it or not. So yea I agree keep an open mind because we don't actually know what she thinks of this
It feels unapologetic, she didn’t bring up the Scientology and still its alleged she unfollowed Danny just moments before she made the post. She’s shady. I don’t trust a word. Gonna edit here- to the people who are saying “what’s wrong/why do you care?” I’m just stating that Scientology has done very shady things. Many members who have done wrong have been able to stay hidden and buried by the church of Scientology. Do understand because of that, I don’t trust her. However someone I replied too made a valid point and I’ll be open minded until something else comes up or it’s confirmed she still is in Scientology and believes it.
She probably didn't bring up scientology because she's probably not following them anymore with her being openly gay and scientology being super against LGBTQ.
The lack of clarity on Scientology on her part is saying a lot in my eyes. It's only going to drive more people towards the theory around the passing of Chester and Chris. If this happened to a guy you bet the internet will not be soo forgiving and the guy would likely not get hired or be let go shortly after.
I'm not in the loop about any of it, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've heard many talk about the dangers of going against Scientology. I wouldn't be surprised if she's being this careful, not because it's disingenuous, but so as not to put herself and anyone close to her at risk.
This should be appreciated. A lot of people refuse to change their minds despite overwhelming evidence but she changed her mind after looking at the evidence about Masterson.
@@Mic1904 She didn't support him. It was a preliminary hearing which she showed up to and regretted it after the facts surfaced and distanced herself from him ever since. That's exactly my point, desperate to find some juicy negative thing to paint a bad picture on her. I'm sure you've never had much experience with knowing somebody who did something bad where you stopped talking to them anymore.
LP said they've known her for years as a friend. They know exactly who she is and that makes them just as deplorable in my eyes. Even if they arent scientologists, they are proping up and promoting one. I'll enjoy the songs with Chester I have always loved. Beyond that I have no interest in following whatever this crap show is that they've put together. Side note: A youtube channel called growing up in scientology has a video out from yesterday. He and Emily have mutual friends, ones that know her in scientology and ones outside of it. They wrote him to say she is 100% still in it. I dont get how people are so happy to support this?
I'm not even a LP fan, but even I can see she just dodged it without really answering for what she did. She didn't even acknowledge what she did to the girl. Didn't even bring up what she did.

I don't think she needs to say anything about the other half. Has Tom Cruise ever laid out his Scientology relations to the public? Maybe showed a couple things, but was never cancelled. Everyone still likes his movies despite being a scientologist.
Almost all founding members of LP are still in LP. Chester joined later. Mike wrote many (most of the songs?). Linkin Park is MIKE SHINODA. Why is every hater demanding a rebrand? That's BS!
Chester had one of the most iconic, recognizable voices in all of music. Mike is an above-average white dude rapper, he may have wrote the songs but Chester MADE them.
The touring lineup only has 2 original members, so wouldn't call that almost all. It is essentially Mike and Friends Band using LP name because it is way more marketable.
These people will never be satisfied. They are past the point of reasoning. They will not listen, nor will ever lend an ear until they see Emily out of LP. That's what they want. But do yall know what you NEED? You NEED to actually think. Mike decided to have her join for a reason. Whether or not that reason is revealed is strictly up to Mike.
Emily Armstrong is not fit to be head singer. Her "apology" she made recently is fake, and is STILL an activate, HIGH RANKING member of scient*logy. Emily getting this position in Linkin Park is seen as a major win in Scientology, where good PR and celebrity are seen as fuel to keep Scientology growing. Emily must do everything she can to protect her c*lt. This includes lying about her relationship with Danny, the Masterson family, and completely disappearing everything she has been involved in. She hasn't apologised to Jane Doe 1 from the court case, and numerous victims have stated that they have never been apologised to privately. This isn't linkin park, this is a cry from Mike who he has sold Chester's legacy to. Chester, who was a victim of child SA. We ARE thinking, actually. It's called we're not falling for the Cult's PR stunt. Emily is dangerous, and if you knew anything about scientology you'd realise that the normal laws we function by? As a linkin park fan these last 20 years!! I LOVED HER! I LOVED THEIR SINGLE! I was devastated when Chester passed 💔 and this honors his memory in every way possible! Good for the guys and the new band members ❤
She does not honor his memory in any way. Scientology is outspoken and against mental health help. They also cover up child abuse and basically allow it by not allowing any member to report the perpetrators to law enforcement. Those are issues that Chester had, those are issues that Emily is at odds with. She, as a Scientologist is against mental health help and she covers up child abuse. Her beliefs and past actions do not honor Chester, they disrespect him. LP disrespected him when they let her in the band.
Early on like last year Emily!! Typical Scientology statement!! This is what I get from fans " Oh we love and miss Chester" but it's ok LP's new singer belongs to a cult that denounce's mental illness. It's all about the music, so let's support Emily and her cult!! I said it yesterday it's sad no one from the industry, music journalist and platforms like this don't have the courage to stand for what is right. Chester fought hard to bring awareness, I'm an old LP fan. LP will do good ,why because of all the fans who just don't give a damn!! I pray non of you ever deal with rape, abuse or mental illness!!!!
I hate to be the one to break it to a lot of people but... Chester is NEVER coming back As sad as it is, he chose to unsubscribe from life The Rest of Them have suffered long enough, time to let them move on. And if you're one of those fans who cant move on, then by all means Stop Listening
That's what bothers me, like it wasn't enough to suffer the loss of Chester, some useless aren't happy with continuing to bring SHIT to the band every day.
Y’all act like she owes any of yall an answer- she don’t owe any of y’all sh*t. And people make mistakes and also get manipulated and also get threatened, which is a staple of Scientology. I don’t care for any religions but so long as she’s not doing anything horrible while she’s in the band and is making attempts to be a better person than she was a few years back, that’s all I can hope for. Y’all are just entitled and literally spewing as much hate as you claim she did, which makes most of yall hypocrites. Be there for the music and for the rest of the band and trust that if she screws up moving forward that she’ll get booted. Otherwise focus on your own lives and stop acting like your own shit don’t stink too.
Being real, Linkin Park is one of the biggest bands in history. They background checked the shit out of Emily. They knew about it. Clearly didn't think that her side of the story was anything to worry about
Can't do nothing nowadays. People will pick apart your past just to take you down. Why? That is the question i keep asking. Can't we just move on and live happy? The band after almost a decade are finally getting back into it and now we have new people, it's a new era. Let's celebrate and move on with our lives. Call me ignorant if you must or even disrespectful, but I'm tired of the cancel BS plaguing us everyday. Sure it has done a lot of good but its done a lot of bad. This is the last thing we need. We got good stuff coming very soon, can't we just be excited and happy for that?
I think we should try and see things from Mike’s perspective. We know Mike vetted her, and we know that Mike knows her situation. Having said that, Mike wouldn’t have taken her in if he felt like she betrayed Chester’s values. Emily had a questionable background, but Mike knows more about her, and who she is as a person than we do, and I think we should trust Mike’s intuition. As far as the sound, her performances with Chester’s song are not impressive, nobody is arguing otherwise, however, Emily’s original song with Linkin Park is pretty good, imo. No one will ever fill in Chester’s shoes, and I don’t think it’s fair to expect Emily to live up to Chester Bennington’s legacy. Just like other rock and metal bands, Cannibal Corpse, Arch Enemy, Alice In Chains, Killswitch Engaged, all fine examples of how a band can carry on a legacy even after the original vocalist has either died, or moved on with the project.
Agreed. Mike said in their interview that while talent was important, there are many talented people. Personality, them being a good person, and how well they fit the essence of linkin park mattered most to receiving a new member.
You forgot something. At first Chris played nothing but rage music with the band a very quickly they learned you can’t have ratm without Zach. Same will prolly happen with LP

And it so happens that I think she singing on these songs sounds like Linkin Park." Welp, thats a good enough for me to get on the hype train. Keep on hating guys.
Been a fan of Linkin Park from the beginning, Now 2024 and Emily Armstong the lead co-vocalist, HUGE I have huge support for her; this is the new era of Linkin Park! All the best Emily!
Just sort of realised something with the lyrics, maybe I’m wrong, but is she talking about the Scientology thing as the emptiness machine? “I only wanted to be part of something” “Gave up who I am, for who you wanted me to be?”
Really anything can be applied to being part of the emptiness machine... but in her case, this is most likely her way of speaking about her distancing herself from it while keeping her family safe since from what I have read on the topic there is no such thing as a clean get away if they actually talk about them and make it obvious...
if the worst thing people can dig up against Emily is that she used to be friends with a guy that is now in prison and Emily denounced him, then I only support her more.
I also paid $25 to join the LPU the day before the pre-sale tickets went live. TBF those who are saying "she should of spoken out against the cos" It's a cult one that her family is engrained in, as I said to someone earlier if it really was that easy for her to leave (given her sexuality and the cos's stance on that) wouldn't she have already? Or could it be trying to avoid the disconnect between herself and her loved ones speaking against the COS? It's easy to talk when passing comment on other people's lives and aggressively criticizing cult members just makes them more hardline.
People are just mad it’s not Chester and looking for any dirt they can. You can’t hold her accountable for someone else’s crimes. I don’t see the issue. She did great on stage.
Thats not true. I'm a massive LP fan. Like many fans the music and Chester's singing was therapeutic and helped cope with trauma. How could someone like Emily possibly do the same given her actions and Scientology's beliefs and practices? Its an insult to Chester's memory and incredibly tone deaf to many fans. I was willing to give her a chance before I found out about her - now I want an explanation from Mike. But sadly I think it is probably over for me as a fan. I will continue to listen to the old stuff - but instead of healing it will just make me cry.
@@susank4138 I do, and the people saying that they don't support her because "she is still part of Scientology", well obviously. It's a cult, you can't just walk away from something like that. Cults sweet talk people and manipulate them to get them in the organization, but by the time they see the truth they are trapped. I would say that scientology is probably the most dangerous cult, where as your Mansons and others of the past only really had power over its members, Scientology has power both on its members and the world around them. I don't know her intentions, but people who turn their back on Scientology often have their entire lives destroyed, relationships and family severed, lose their career, and even become the victim of constant threats and even violence. Some even die or disappear. You can't just walk away from it, and she is a second generation Scientologist so what's worse is it wasn't even her choice. I think people need to understand, that Scientology is evil, and we shouldn't be judging simply because of her afflation with it as people who are born into it are often times just as much of a victim of it as the people on the outside who they hurt.
@susank4138 And exactly why would you care about somebody's else religious views? Not to mention but especially while the person doesn't even actively promote them?? Freedom of thought/ religion?? When you meet a Catholic person you start a conversation with: Do you know anything about Crusades? I think that's the issue.
Fwiw, fan club presale are usually only a small portion of the total ticket pool available. It had swung in the other direction for about a decade until stadium shows started nearly selling out based on fan club purchases. I don't think there's any happy medium so it'll come down to which group of fans an artist wants to piss off less.
I woke up on Saturday morning and went on Seatgeak. Didn't even know they had tickets, I clicked buy, no waiting time no queue or anything like that. The entire process took me 4 minutes to purchase the tickets.
That was no apology, that was a vague enough statement to hopefully appease the liberal media and entertainment industry. But true fans see right through it for what it was, 💩.

@@Katgurlswag Emily Armstrong’s involvement goes beyond silence-it’s a choice. Alongside other Scientologists, she reportedly harassed Danny Masterson’s accusers, necessitating sheriff intervention. Her band, Dead Sara, has toured with Masterson’s inner circle, and as recently as Thursday, Armstrong was with Masterson’s ex-wife, who still insists on his innocence-aligning with the official position of Scientology. This isn’t just a loose affiliation; it’s a clique. Most troubling is her non-apology, where the phrase “unimaginable things” is deliberately ambiguous. For the public, it could be taken as empathy toward the victims, but for Scientologists, it signals deniability-a carefully crafted statement that allows believers to dismiss the charges as unbelievable. Armstrong’s fame, and whatever success she achieves with Linkin Park, risks being in service of a cult that participates in the very crimes Chester Bennington fought against and ultimately succumbed to.
2:00 I got LPU Underground too. Keep in mind that its a full year and even if you didnt get to use the presale code this go around, they are doing a full fledged tour in 2025. I mean, how tf John Does like you know the truth?? Have you never befriended someone and found out later on that they’re not who you thought they were? Come on…
Well she did respond at least.. give her some credit for that. If she kept silent that would have been a huge mistake and a bad glimpse into her character
@@mirkecWiiSo you’ll just let your employer find out on their own that you’re remorseless and dishonest and thought you’d get away with it all. Got it.
From what I’ve read, she was born into Scientology and didn’t just willingly join. Former members that have spoken out about Scientology have been kidnapped, tortured, abused and even murdered which might explain why she’s not saying anything if true.
Cancel culture back at it again. People aren't allowed to move on from past mistakes nowadays without being heckled to the ground. I think the rest of the band are fully aware of her past and her beliefs but chose to move on from it for the sake of art. Obviously, they probably wouldn't have if she still would stand by what she did. This is more than enough evidence for me that she is on the right path. If the band believes in her, so do I. People tend to get the term wrong as well; it's "innocent until proven guilty", not "guilty until proven innocent". Hopefully she is mentally prepared for the heckling, it's apparently unavoidable.
i do realize that this requires further clarification for the splitting fanbase (look up the psychology definition of “splitting” for the pun). personally think that maybe this could be Emily’s break out from the cult which often happens very quietly, privately and in court for safety reasons at first and is often surrounded by retaliation, intimidation, character killing and smear campaigns by the cult. in the best case scenario the new era of Linkin Park will take on Chester’s legacy and will actually aid Emily to take a stand in breaking free. that would imho not disrespect but further cement the legacy. having looked at the song titles and lyrics of the emptiness machine i am hopeful
Considering her lyrics in Dead Sara it's pretty obvious she hate the cult. The people running to their pitchforks are already unwittingly helping with the cult.
ok but she didnt reference the scientology link at all. as many others are saying, that probably does it for me for this too. they should have either just had mike do vocals or they should have changed the name. i dont agree that this does chesters legacy any justice, just my opinion.

@@HalloweenAllYearEnterainment she was never trying to stop a rape victim from testifying, she was at the pre-trial supporting him and then she realized how much of a scum bag he was and hasn't been in contact with him since then.
Honestly I’d be worried if she supported a rapist. Which she doesn’t. If people are going to continue to cancel her based on her past ties then she’s just not going to care anymore. I won’t either. For now I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.
I'm satisfied with her response. She said clearly that she was wrong to support him, and I can't say I needed to hear anything more. As for her not addressing whether or not she's still in Scientology, given the incessant harassment and abuse ex-members undergo after publicly leaving the "church," I can't say I blame her one bit, especially since she was born into it, so she's likely protecting her family as well. Furthermore, she's queer, which is a big no-no in Scientology, so clearly, she's not a "militant Scientologist" like some have been saying.
Who is him? She didn’t say Danny Masterson. She didn’t say she believes Danny Masterson victims either. How can you except this apology when it wasn’t anything
Emily is still in Scientology, she hasn’t left. She still hangs out with Danny’s circle of friends including his wife, who are the same people who still support him and think he is innocent. Not once in her statement did she actually apologise, not once did she mention Danny’s name, not once did she admit Danny was a serial r**ist, not once did she say she believed Danny’s victims, not once did she apologise for openly harassing one of them. She did the same non-apology Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis did. Her statement is OSA approved bs (Scientology’s Office of special affairs). Scientology condones SA even child SA within its own organisation. Emilia is part of this organisation, has in fact been born into it. Chester’s mental issues came from child SA as he said. He would not approve.
@@Annettespetessentials It's painfully obvious that she was talking about Danny Masterson, and if you can't say that, you're actively choosing to believe something different from reality. Like I said, publicly speaking out against the cult could put her in real danger.
@@AlexKawa20 really read it again- would a Scientologist know who she was talking about? Because she isn’t allowed to talk about any Scientologist in good standing which Danny Masterson still is. Chester was an advocate of sexual assault and Emily represents the total opposite of that
Im not the biggest fan of Emily but Im a fan of Linkin Park and I respect their decision of getting a new vocalist. Looking forward to new music and what can Emily offer to us
Chester is dead. Because of that fact so is the band. Move on with a new name while working LP songs into your sets occasionally for fans or something. Personally I believe that if your lead vocalist dies then thats it for that band. Change your name and move forward instead of banking in on fans nostalgia. It's gross.

I do not care about Danny Masterson Fans, she is great on stage, has fun, is getting audience involved, she has realized what the situation was. Many need to actually witness the worse in someone to believe somethings to be true. If they do not like that they can bugger off. No one is perfect, it is what they do to make their life better so they can make others lives better.
Just let Linkin Park return, why are we trying to push them away, she’s not Chester and she’s never going to be Chester, it’s a new chapter for the band
Thank you for talking about this. And much respect to you for being willing to look into this. So many have completely confused the issue. It's not about Emily's talent or her "religion". People are upset because Chester stood for some very important values and his expressing those values helped and inspired a lot of folks. If people are only interested in listening to music they groove with...no problem. But for those who consider values more important...those are the folks speaking out. Emily's statement tries to give the impression that she was kind of "talked into" going. The fact is, as Cedric pointed out, she was there actually harassing the rape victims. Her carefully crafted pr statement is trying to wash away what really happened and what she actually believes in and stands for. Being a Scientologist means that she is a tool for them and they will use her ( like they do Tom Cruise) as a puppet to promote Scientology and all that it stands for. Those values are diametrically opposed to everything Chester stood for. It is a dangerous and extremely destructive cult. They covered up Danny Masterson's crimes( as well as many other SAers ) knowingly, because that is what they do...and Emily knows exactly what happened. Scientology is a child trafficking, fraudulent and abusive cult that has destroyed thousands of families and lives. It does not believe in mental health or in allowing people to get proper help. People have died because of this. They act like a mafia, harassing and destroying the lives of those who dare speak out against them. Emily's mom happens to be a part of the very department of Scientology that does their "dirty work" in that regard. They require their people to lie and go to any extreme to suck people in, and cover up their crimes. I could go on and on about the horrific things they do to people, but the information is all easily available. There are many, many, many ex-victims of this fraudulent cult that are speaking out about the abuse they endured and how Scientology ACTUALLY operates.. Just Google Scientology abuse for starters. The point is....Emily's life stands for all of that, and again, Scientology will definitely cash in on her fame. So for anyone who is concerned about any of that, just know that your support of this band is indeed supporting Scientology and all it stands for. THAT is why people are speaking out. But if you are only interested in rocking to some edgy music and that's all that matters, then fine...we all have to make our own choices.
My only concern is waiting to see if she can do the 17 second scream in Given Up. So until then worry about what your doing, not what everyone else is doing.
Who cares about the association with a guy who abused women Emily has brought back one of the most greatest band of our generation!! So many of us would support our friends without the full knowledge so we all learn something new everyday so we all should just let go of the negative about it and realise that Linkin park is back and we all should just move on with positive energy towards humanity
oh no.. she was trying to be a good friend to someone who rightly got locked up for their crime. She went to one trial before the evidence pointed against him. so she was acting like any friend should. it doesn't mean she supported his actions or even continued to support him after the light was shone on him
I don’t care about any artists worldview because they tend to be whacked out. Ya got Rage against the machine to Burzum on that spectrum….my issue is did she really intimidate victims or just show up because the church made her.
I've said this on their instagram post, and I'll say it here. Love how people that grew up on LP, that helped them cope with teen life as they suffered judgment, abolishment and neglect, are judgmental, vindictive and refuse to look up information, just ride the hate wave, ultimately becoming people this music helped them cope against. There's an entire song hidden there. Scientology wasn't her choice, but it is your choice to cast the stones. Peace people.
I liked Linkin Park back in the day and much respect to Chester Bennington! That said, I saw and heard Emily Armstrong's voice and stage presence and was blown away! Others can hate on her for her choices in life, but they are hers, for the good or bad, but, personally, I've made choices in life, too, some were good and some I feel regret over, but, this girl has a set of pipes and talent! I wish them all the best, they deserve another shot, I think and hope they go far. I used to like the band...now I love them!!!

That apology must have been reviewed by the Scientology Church before it was posted.
The lack of clarity on Scientology on her part is saying a lot in my eyes. It's only going to drive more people towards the theory around the passing of Chester and Chris. If this happened to a guy you bet the internet will not be soo forgiving and the guy would likely not get hired or be let go shortly after.
@@SINGHDASLAYAthere is so much mystery there…
I'm not in the loop about any of it, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've heard many talk about the dangers of going against Scientology.
Some people will always try to find something to hate in everything, so there's nothing she can do to please them anyways.

Emily Armstrong's direct link to Scientology goes back to 2013, and the bullsh*t argument of her presence at Danny Masterson's trial in 2020 has been explained long ago as she went to support who she believed was an innocent friend only to regret it instantly and condemning his actions
To me Jaime Bennington is simply uneducated about the woman he talks about

IMO she didn't need to address any of it. It's irrelevant.
I thought the backlash would be from her butchering LP songs
Almost all founding members of LP are still in LP. Chester joined later. Mike wrote many (most of the songs?).
Linkin Park is MIKE SHINODA. Why is every hater demanding a rebrand? That's BS!
Chester had one of the most iconic, recognizable voices in all of music. Mike is an above-average white dude rapper, he may have wrote the songs but Chester MADE them.

@@saviorofmyown9533he’s still gonna get money. He doesn’t care.

I agree with what you said except for the part where her singing on older tracks is "not impressive". I think she sounds great.

@@JK-dd5im agreed.
ok but she didnt reference the scientology link at all. as many others are saying, that probably does it for me for this too. they should have either just had mike do vocals or they should have changed the name. i dont agree that this does chesters legacy any justice, just my opinion.
Linkin Park is finally back. I love them so very much. Why the drama..why can't we just enjoy life at least for a little bit. Or something..idk. btw. I love Emily's voice!💯♥️
She's a horrible person for trying to stop a rape victim from testifying
@HalloweenAllYearEnterainment I'm sorry you feel that way but I'm not digging into her past. To me it's all hear say!
@@HalloweenAllYearEnterainment 💯
@@HalloweenAllYearEnterainment
Misinformation.
It must be great to be so sure of your opinion on something you clearly know nothing about.
I wouldn't want you on a jury😬
@@Mark-eg2yd what like all the people hating on this chick lol
@@emilyemily444 what?? You’re not making sense. 🙄
@@emilyemily444 honestly that’s ok. I’ll have Fletcher Reede on board.
If she would have mentioned his name all Scientology members she has in her life would have to disconnect from her including her mother. She must of just google a template.
It's gross.
So did AC/DC die when Bon Scott did?
Alice in chains, drowning pool, stone temple pilots , AC/DC, Metallica ( cliff Burton) , alice in chains again (mike starr) , the list goes on man, get a grip..
RIP LP
Yes its iconic but not even chester could hit that, it was probably just this one time. Its incredibly hard and dangerous.
Of course, I didn’t know Chester, but I do know of his stance against abuse of women and children.
He would be mortified by this.
It’s quite bizarre reading these comments saying CB would approve of her being in the band
Who cares about the association with a guy who abused women
Emily has brought back one of the most greatest band of our generation!! So many of us would support our friends without the full knowledge so we all learn something new everyday so we all should just let go of the negative about it and realise that Linkin park is back and we all should just move on with positive energy towards humanity
oh no.. she was trying to be a good friend to someone who rightly got locked up for their crime.
She went to one trial before the evidence pointed against him. so she was acting like any friend should. it doesn't mean she supported his actions or even continued to support him after the light was shone on him
All in the name of Scientology. In which she did the same thing on a separate occasion.
@@Check_the_syntax Right!
Since when is victim/witness intimidation, something a friend should do? Wtf are your friends involved in?????
