Props to Mike for taking crazy amounts of criticism like a champ. And the weird questions about Chester's passing during his live streams. He has always handled these topics with grace.
Yeah man, it's a band that actually matured, I don't know what people want from him and the band. They would all have been pissed if they had taken a male singer on board that "sounded" like Chester. People are never happy
People don't know how hard it is to scream like Chester and Emily. They Scream like Hell. So before anybody criticizes Emily, we better ask 'em to show us what they've got.
It's such a shame that people have to criticize like that. People need to learn to get over themselves. When Chester died people were shocked. Not just because he was a great singer but because we all knew that Linkin Park wasn't done. And I don't think LP is betraying Chester's memory at all. They literally had 7 years in between making this album with Emily. And if Linkin Park hadn't come back at some point, so many would've felt awful about that. I also don't think Chester would've wanted them to stop making music. He knew LP better than anyone else. And he knew that it's who these guys are. He would've known that not making music for LP would've broken his friends. And I don't think he ever would've wanted that.
Its so funny that people believe that its disrespectful to Chester to be Linkin Park when 5 of the 6 that formed the band were there before him, and have the absolute right to continue without him. It doesnt mean erase him, its just moving forward. Long live to Linkin Park, Chester WOULD HAVE BEEN PROUD BECAUSE HE WAS AN ANGEL IN THIS PLANET. Get over it.
@@LeonBurchardt i know, and Brad has his reasons for it, Rob too, it really doesn't change things for me, I am just glad they are back, and I am greatful for the new members
There was the story of how back in the pre Hybrid Theory days, the label came to Chester with their idea of getting rid of Mikes rapping and making Chester the star, to which Chester told them to go fuck themselves and also said that “this isn’t even my band”.
I mourned the lost of Linkin Park since Chester passed. I'm not the type of person who gets overly sad if a celebrity dies, but, Chester was different because, not only was he gone, but, this reality that I would never see my favorite band live, there would be never be new music, a new album, etc. I cannot imagine what the rest of the band felt. That was their lives, all gone. I'm happy they are back. I got to see them live in Arlington, TX. I got to listen to a new Linkin Park album last night. Its surreal, and at this time in my life, something I needed. No one is forcing you to listen, and if you can't, fine. Just don't listen.
Surreal is the perfect way to explain it. It was literally ripped away from all of us. To think I’m going to an effing concert next year is just crazy. Surreal.
@@davidjames6036 call it whatever you want. When I listen to the new album, I like what I hear. If you don't, that's fine, don't listen, nobody is forcing you. Just move on. But don't linger around just to hate on the new sound of Linkin Park, and the people that like it. That's a waste of time for everybody
Alice in Chains did it, Queen did it & frickin AC/DC did it. The remaining members have every right to continue if they choose to. They were gone 7 years. LP is not just one person. If u don't like it or support them now, move on. It's not rocket science people...
I think Alice in Chains is a good comparison. Jerry Cantrell is like Mike Shinoda in a sense, because he is the main songwriter. The architect if you will. That said, I still don't listen that much to the new Alice in Chains. I love Jerry's new solo album though. Anyways... Emily's voice is really strong and this new Linkin Park album is pretty good. Could be a bit more toned down on the screaming... I don't mind it, but sometimes it's a bit much. But hey, I'm an old fart by now (in my 40s 😅) and my ears are tired lol.
Dave Grohl wrote most of Nirvana's material. It's not that he doesn't have the right. It's that it's tone deaf, and he's clearly just banking in on something that wouldn't have been as successful without Chester. As made apparent by his other project Fort Minor. He doesn't think a new project will bring him as much money so he's choosing to still use LP to his advantage. The problem is that his motives are clear. He is doing this because LP brings more money than anything else he feels he could create.

@@meloman0027 , Brian, the Rock Feed host, announced at the weekend that his sister had passed away. He mentioned that she was always his biggest supporter/cheerleader in pursuing & doing Rock Feed.
Man, whatever happened to just listening to music. The Internet Music politicians are going to kill any band that does what they want to do instead of what their fans want them to do. Music is artistry, not customer service. I don't get it
?... So they have a new singer...Make new music and carry on period! Stop singing all old songs with maybe 2 new songs in concert, celebrate new singer. Alter bridge didn't sing creed songs while the entire band was creed they waited to do creed when Scott was ready and if he was not that band was over.
I was fortunate enough to see them live 2 weeks ago in Paris. It was a dream I never thought would come true, me hearing Linkin Park playing live. Chester can never be replaced, he had one of the most unique voices in Metal/Rock. But I haven't seen Emily even attempt to imitate him. Instead, she sings the parts she can alone, with Mike helping fill in the vocals if needed, and those parts she can't, they adapted to suit her style and capabilities. Their set list was awesome, the entire band was highly energized and looked really happy to be back on stage again, the lighting was amazing, the sound was good to mid depending on your position (luckily where I was standing it was good, because that's possibly the only problem with some parts of La Defense Arena - bad acoustics), but the AC is unbelievable. I had a truly unforgettable night. If chance allows it, I will see them again next year.
They own the rights to their band. It's their choice what to do with it. This is, in fact; Linkin Park without Bennington. That said, people have the right to listen to or not. Pretty simple.
IGYEIH and Good Things Go are so good. Love the new album and I think Emily is doing a great job. The band is finally healing... what gives anyone the right to decide HOW they heal? Why can something only be ONE way? It's impossible to ever have Chester back and Linkin Park continue in that way but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to have the band take us on a new journey. 7 years later as well is a more than respectful amount of time. If you think the fans are grieving, try being Mike and the rest of the band. It's THEIR friend and it's THEIR band. This is my my favorite band since I was a kid and If they're ready, I'm ready. Very excited for the future of Linkin Park!
This is exactly what I feel and think about this regarding Linkin Park too! It’s their decision, not ours, so people need to quit complaining and hating on them for making their decisions about their own band! I’ve been listening to them ever since I was a kid and I think they are doing everything the way they deserve to have it.
After 7 years we have a new Linkin Park Album and that’s awesome because nobody knew If it would happen again. The songs the lyrics and shows are rocking.🤘
I liked the album and am glad there back but I will say her live vocals need work. I know she won’t sound like Chester but they don’t always sound great in videos I seen on UA-cam. Sounds great on the album but you can make people sound better on that. Not saying she don’t sound good just needs work. She not the best at swapping from heavy to soft and her heavy parts sonetimes sound forced so she need more training so make then sound more natural . Still the band do deserve to carry on . But Chester will always be missed by me. I know when I listen to the new stuff makes me go back and listen to the old.
Been following Linkin Park since 2016 at 12 years old and I’m 21 now and I honestly am glad about their comeback. They’ll forever be the band that saved my life in 2017 from severe suicidal thoughts
It has happened so much that they had to add a line to When They Come For Me to pretty much summarize the fanbase. And they also had to write Bleed it Out for that.
My first thought when listening to the new album was, "Wow, this is every era of Linkin Park in one album." It was clearly not the same as it was with Chester, but it never would've been.
I think it’s linkin park. Chester wouldn’t have wanted the band and his friends to stop. He would want them to continue sharing their music with us. Yes, I miss and love Chester. But I too loved the rest of the band. Keep up the great music and welcome on board Emily.
For me, I can't really listen to anything new much. It just kinda feels like losing your husband/partner and moving on and it just feels wrong and I can't imagine ever wanting or being able to do that. But for everyone who enjoy the new music, I'm happy for them, just personally I just can't
@@skeptic5681 It might not be that hard to move on if suddenly you found someone that can carry on your life and suit your preference while you'd already lost your previous partner to their death like 7 years ago.
Totally understandable. And now imagine Mike Shinoda and the other guys losing not only their wives but their whole family and finally coming back to realize that there is still family left. And I'm not even just talking about the band members. They gave up what they loved doing the most. Music. I can't even begin to imagine what it 's like if that is taken away from you.
@@joey3297 One of the things had to be underlined is the fact that your previous partner died. It's not like a divorce and that person is still living but you had no option to meet that person again physically. And 7 years man, that's actually a very long time. If a baby was born 7 years ago, at least that child would be in elementary school years by now. That's how long it is. And to find out that they'd moved on to other partner after that period of time is actually pretty understandable and logically possible.
This band was everything to me when I was a teenager and I have improved my English so much listening to them. When I got my ticket to see them in Paris November 3, I just checked the date I saw them the 1st time in Zurich, well it was November 3 2014! What are the odds! Only difference is I was in the gold pit this time, so worth it to see them up close. Emily is amazing live, I can definitely see the difference between her first performance and now. I hope to see them again next year in Bern. And My favorite song from the album would be Two Faced
This is exactly the right move for LP. Emily has a great voice and can sing the songs that Chester sang in a way that works for the songs but isn't trying to replace Chester. And in the new songs she just owns them. And if you just put aside for one minute that someone else used to be in that role and just listen to the music then you can be more objective in your judgment. Personally, I think the new album is f'ing amazing and I'm glad that the rest of the band can continue to do what they love, and what we all love from them, which is making kick-ass music.
The funny thing is for all the fair weather fans saying It's not Linkin Park are the SAME people who said One More Light wasn't Linkin Park either, smh. No band stays the same, whether or not their singer passes away. Eventually every band tests the waters and tries other things in their music. LP did the same thing after Meteora. I think a LOT of fans still revel in the past and wanted another Hybrid or Meteora after those albums dropped and the band changed their style. This debate is old and tired. I love the new album and I can hear elements of old LP with hip hop and newer LP with the heavy rock vibe. I salute them. Either get on board or not, fine. But this is Linkin Park 2024.
Chester was a Human Angel yeah indeed and i bet for sure his kindness n pure heart would have loved to see this that LP still keeps going and we all never forget or forgot about him. LP Forever.! No matter what! The Band is still there Chesters watching.
Every song is really cool, has it's own vibe, all well written, hard to choose a favourite, but 'Two faced and The emptiness machine are the 2 standouts for me,the others are cool too, will take a few more listens to go deeper with the new album.
I can honestly say that i haven't been this hyped for album in about 15 years maybe more, i haven't listened to a full album in years coz with Spotify you can just cherry what songs you want to listen to but with From zero, i listened to it over an over again, an i absolutely loved it. What an emotional time to be a Linkin Park fan, give me more
Take care of yourself bro. I know this content is extremely important to you and possibly a big part of your healing, HOWEVER if you need a break, please take one. I'm very sorry for your loss, I truly mean that. ❤
Ac/Dc, Queen, Drowning Pool, Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, Alice In Chains and so on, you name it.... The history just repeats itself going in circles.
I absolutely love "cut the bridge". ❤ And I'm so happy for the chance to hear another Linkin Park album. 😊 Never thought this would happen again. I still love hearing Chester's voice - he was unique. 💔 But he made his decision 7 years ago and the band he left back made now their own decision. I don't think that seven years are disrespectful. It's been a long time. I'm glad they can now make a new start. Of course different but still Linkin Park!
It definitely isnt linkin park. It might be linkin park² but its definitely not linkin park. Dont say it is, when it clearly isnt. Just like three days grace isnt three days grace without adam, Its Three days grace²
I absolutely love "Over Each Other", it is simply such a great song and I think it shows the power of Emily's voice when she doesn't have to overdo it, she's just being herself and singing great. I'd love the band to stay in that type of direction mixed with some heavy. They will mesh better with time and I do like this record, but I do think the next will be even better and absolutely blow people away. Folks don't understand, the hate is what killed Chester... we've got to learn from his death. We need to embrace who these artists are, they're people like you and I and they're expressing themselves. I'm glad they're doing something, they're too talented and accomplished to let it just sit on the shelf.
For my taste it sounds like Arch Enemy, but not as good as the original. When I want to listen to something that sounds like Arch Enemy then I listen to Arch Enemy.
I’m happy for them and their success. They have a good album, but as an OG LP fan from the beginning, it will never be like it was with Chester. He was the soul…a very rare human that understood, and genuinely cared, about human suffering and touching the lives of others. Maybe he understood too well? Maybe. I wish he didn’t leave us. It’s a loss that was felt deeply across generations. Mike definitely deserves to keep going on as Linkin Park. I do agree on that as well. There’s going to be vastly different opinions but at the end of the day we have to be comfortable with having our own opinions while respecting the opinions of others, even if we don’t necessarily agree, whilst attempting to do so with grace when we can. I’ve seen people get very heated about the subject…maybe too heated…and I understand why and how that can happen, but what matters is that you enjoy the music whatever you decide and you don’t let other’s opinions get in the way of that. It’s hard at times; I understand. Just love what you love and feel what you feel but allow others others to do the same❤️
I think people on both sides of the spectrum can sometimes push their opinions too hard on others. If someone doesn't like it and thinks it’s not Linkin Park, they should be allowed to voice that. Similarly, if others love it and feel it's 100% Linkin Park, that's valid too. Both perspectives are worth respecting because, in the end, they're just opinions based on people's feelings. Honestly, I think sometimes people forget that extremism can come from both sides. Ultimately, everyone should be free to think whatever they want and voice it if they feel like it.
You get to not like it. You get to not listen to it. You get to think she isn't your ideal choice. Linkin Park get to decide if they are Linkin Park though. Nobody else gets that right at all.
@@TroublesomeOwl Like I said, everyone has their own opinion. For some, if a big part of the band is missing, it’s just not the same, while for others, even one original member or none at all is enough to keep the spirit of Linkin Park alive. At the end of the day, if someone feels like it’s not Linkin Park, that’s their opinion, and they have every right to feel that way. When you put something out there for the public, you open yourself up to criticism, and naturally, people will have strong emotions about something theye love either good or bad because again people are different. So, everyone should be able to voice their thoughts. You don’t have to agree, but that’s just how it goes. People see Linkin Park differently, and for some, it’s just not the same without Chester, and that’s completely valid. It’s hard to argue with how people feel. The important thing is recognizing that everyone has the right to express their opinions, just as you have the right to yours.
People could just stop bothering the band and just stop listening if they don't like it. The band is not extreme for existing. There were death threats towards Emily etc. i don't think "fans" got lethally threatened after they said "It's not Linkin Park."
@@SarahsVeganSpace Where did I say that people can threaten others? It feels like some are using these extreme examples just to shut down criticism and say, 'No, you can't criticize anything i like.' I never said that threats are okay. What I said is that people have the right to express what they don't like and explain why, Since something is being shared with them in a commercial way. For example, if someone dislikes something because it's not to their taste, or because they don't like the style, melodies, the singer's voice or performance, or even because they disagree with a celebrity's past, that's completely different from threatening the person or the band.. There’s a big gap between offering criticism and crossing into threats.
@@ShininDays and yet you called both sides "extreme" as if there was a balance here. There isn't. People go very far in their hate. Nobody makes people listen to Linkin Park that is why this is so unbalanced. They go there, listen to music they don't like although they have a choice not to, and then some even go so far with threatening band members. That's not criticism.
You said it perfectly. Linkin Park was never just chester. Yes Chester was amazing. He was one of my favorites of all times. Is death hit me hard. But there are more people in the band than him. And presumably the people in the band are his friends and he would like to see them continue to make music. I'm pretty sure when he took his life he did not do it hoping to end their careers. And the reality is that this is a Linkin Park album. It sounds like Linkin park. It does not sound like Chester and it's not supposed to. I heard people saying with the live show she can't sing Chester's parts. Well that's because they were written for chester. She did just fine on the songs written for her.
It's hard to digest. I mean, when Matt Walst took over for Three Days Grace, it was hard for people cuz they were used to Adam Gontier. And I know it's not the same deal as what Linkin Park fans are going through as Chester passed away but the point of the matter stands, it's gonna take time to get used to with having this new vocalist, that being Emily Armstrong. People just need more time. It's understandable that this doesn't suit the taste but this is where we're at now. I'm a HUGE and DIEHARD Linkin Park fan and love Chester Bennington to death, I was skeptical in the beginning too but at the same time, I had to realize, times are changing. This is what they all decided on. And I'm going to respect the decision to continue going forward. Whatever they sound like as future days come, I'll take it with strides. There will never be another Chester, no one can replace him but I'm not going to harp on a matter which most likely a very hard decision for them. I'm grateful to Linkin Park for wanna to continue on without Chester and not split up. In my belief, I think Chester wouldn't want us fighting like this and downplaying the band's decision. I think he would want us to carry on and enjoy what the band brings just as he would want the band itself to carry on without him. Maybe one day, we can accept this change, change takes time to get used to. And if it's truly impossible for people to accept, then sorry. Sorry it don't suit your taste. All I can say is just step away from being a fan
@@IchigoKurosakitheSalvation Even Chester wasn't even interested in the idea of changing Stone Temple Pilots name when he replaced Scott Weiland. So why bother when Linkin Park continue? I think we should accept how reality works the way it is. The world would be so much better.
Mike should have created a new band with existing members of LP and Emily. So that Emily can have her own legacy and not be compared to Chester. If they continue to have Emily Armstrong as lead singer of Linkin Park. They are not going to be successful in the long run. Emily is a scientologist. Which stands against what Chester believed in. You can't replace a legend like Chester. Not very many bands have been successful in changing their lead singer. Especially if the original lead singer was a legend.
That's a fair question - no one (least of all the band) is denying the obvious, enormous, key part that Chester played in their meteoric (pun mostly intended) rise to success. But the heart of the question is, 'Is it Linkin Park without him?'. And a lot of people feel that the band's history before Chester, and the fact that he was actually the last to join, lends credibility to the idea that the band is not just about one single individual.
@@Mic1904they created LP together so he was not the last member arrived. They arrived at the same moment. You talk about XERO. If they have hired Chester in XERO, I would agree with you.
@@theorel265 You're trying to portray the change from Xero/HT to Linkin Park as the formation of a new band, not a name change. And, while that's a matter of interpretation, that isn't how the band (including Chester) viewed it. All the band, including Chester, describe him as 'joining' the band, not forming it. They describe the band as starting in 1996 (that's the year they celebrate the band's establishment, e.g. merch with '96' on it). They describe the band's 'original name' as Xero. They describe the band being 'started by Mike and Mark (Wakefield)'. They describe 'changing the name' when they signed. There is absolutely no discussion whatsoever at all about any idea of a 'new band' being formed in late 99/early 2000. No one considered 99/2000 to be the foundation or establishing year. Nor is that how almost any other band that's had a name change thinks. Is Oasis a different band from Rain? Is U2 a different band from Feedback? No, that's not how these bands view it, and not how most people view it. As I say, it's a matter of interpretation, but yours is definitely a dissenting minority view that the band (including Chester) didn't and don't hold.
@@Mic1904 Chester was a full part of LP that's all matters. His late arrival doesn't count. Their success are thanks to all of them. Without Chester the success wasn't there. Period
Literally someone told me “it doesn’t sound like linkin park anymore, should’ve changed the name. Heavy is the crown is a good song, but two face is a copy and paste of one step closer” Like you can please everyone, they just search for something to hate lol
Yeah definitely. This is the first full album I’ve loved since Minutes. I loved LP for their rock sound and in particular their Nu Metal sound and this is a return to form in my opinion. Wish Chester was still here but I kind of doubt they would create another album like this with him as the singer.
anything the band has made is their music. im tired of this group of fans that only think that hybrid theory and meteora is where the bands "real" style was. they were never ever going to stick with the same the sound, and thats fine. im honestly exhausted of the one more light slander, especially knowing what chester went through when the album released
@@MusicIsMyReligion89 I think if Chester was here they would definitely made a new album like this. One More Light was Mikes idea and Chester loved the heavier songs he loved to scream, he had actually done a song with Mark Morton from Lamb of God and it's amazing. In an interview Mark said he was really creative and when they wrote the song he said Chester was extremely excited about doing hard rock again. This was performed and recorded not long before Chester passed.
Good music! Got some bangers on the new record. I am just glad they decided to keep going. A lot of what is out harkens back to their earlier records and for that I am thankful. When Hybrid Theory came out, I had it on repeat in my portable CD player while wiring up thousands of new phone lines in the basement of one of those windowless phone company buildings. It’s a pretty vivid memory, which speaks volumes about that records impact.
I just don't like how she sounds, that's litterly my only problem with their come back. Not gonna try force myself to like something just because it's made by my fav band of all time. And trust me i tried to listen to it, i really really did.
I’ve heard so many takes from different people over the years. Many I’ve talked to only liked Hybrid Theory and Meteora, calling it “Old Linkin Park” and anything after that, they dislike, calling it “New Linkin Park”. Well, now we actually have that. Old was Chester, new is Emily, and I love all of it. Very happy they’ve continued onwards. Personal Favorite Album: Living Things
It's sad because it was all the fans who were die hards of the first 2 albums, and since it was those albums that solidified the bands status, that's all they saw and wanted, and sadly Linkin Park went the way of being trendy to hate on like Nickleback did in the day. Everyone thought it was the thing to say about Linkin Park. And no matter what they did they got criticized. Now everyone flipped because Chester passed away and now saw it for what it always was. Art, soul and meaning. It didn't have to be a crazy edgy punk band, they wanted to be meaningful, not to say that LP wasnt when they first started but they wanted to be more than just that ALT punk band. They branched out. Honestly if you dont like the new music then just go away honestly. Its a new era, new band phase. Its not trying to be the Linkin Park park with chester's story but without chester, its Linkin Park with a new singer and a new story without writing over the past. I agree it don't hit like it does with chesters songs but im pretty sure some of us were the ones who didn't see how deep these songs were until chester passed. So give them a break, celebrate the art that was chester LP, but lets cheer on the LP that is trying to start a new story.
It's not Linkin Park, it's a different band entirely. I understand the band is more than just Chester, out of respect they should have just changed the name of the band.
I respect their choice to continue playing music together with a new singer. However, calling themselves Linkin Park is just silly, and it feels like it's just to capitalize on the name.
Why This was Mikes band not Chesters. Chester was the last to join the band and there are still 4 members of the band. I think he was a great but he was part of a band. He is overated in my opinion
@57HarleyDavidson If you don't see why, then please keep on supporting them. We all have our own viewpoints. From where I'm standing, that doesn't look or sound like Linkin Park. But I do understand why they're using the name. We're living in tough times, and the economy is kicking everyone's ass. It's definitely smart from a business perspective, so I definitely understand.
I’m saying it. They proved me wrong. I was one of those people who thought they couldn’t perform as Linkin Park anymore without Chester. Their new album is on fire and I do immensely believe that Chester is up there being proud of the guys ánd Emily for moving on. Though he will never be forgotten I do believe that this is the right way to keep going.
My favorite Linkin Park song of all time is "In the End." It's the first song by them I ever learned on the drums, and I never get tired of hearing it.
If Chester were still alive, he would still get alot of hate for not sounding like old LP like during the Hybrid Theory/Meteora days. He had a choice and chose to leave it all behind. How do you think it made the rest of the band and us fans feel? I’m happy that the band is moving forward.
Rob (drummer) also left and Brad Delson isn’t touring so you aren’t really get the full LP experience live young friends, BUT the new record is amazing and I will definitely buy it! I never thought the band would return without Chester or Rob leaving. That being said the songs are quality and Emily offers genuine artistry as a lead singer. I will continue to buy their records, but because I’ve seen the original core lineup there isn’t a reason for me to see them live because the older songs would almost be like karaoke. I would be interested in seeing them live if they played their entire new album live. For those that were too young and/or just didn’t see them live you should definitely go though.
My immediate reaction was that they should have picked another name but I've since changed my opinion, seeing how happy they are to be back. This also makes me reflect on how everyone seems willing to pay respects to people when they're gone, but then are quick to bash and send negativity to those who are still alive, Mike Shinoda is here with us and so is the rest of the band, lets cherish them while they're alive and celebrate all that they've given us.
Its amazing they are back and I love the new music love the new singer. None of it takes away from what they were. After watching entire video on here I'd like to add Heavy is the crown as my personal favorite new song, especially with everything the band is going through. It's awsome.
I am so damned happy they are back and the guys look happier than we've seen them in a VERY long time. Emily is a fantastic choice they ALL made. If you can't or don't wanna listen then just don't it is that god damn simple. Leave them to those of us who appreciate and love this part of Linkin Park. I am so fuckin sick of the whole "This isn't Linkin Park" folks. LP was NOT Chester's band, it belonged to ALL of them and further more Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, Brad and Phoenix make up this band now with Emily and Colin.
The LINKIN PARK fans got annoying when they got mad that people were not angry and depressed how they were, about not moving forward with the new direction. Human beings are not built to have the exact same feelings and emotions that’s what makes us different.
The band is not LINKIN PARK it’s Xero. I know that Chester was technically not an original member, but Chester imprinted himself in LINKIN PARK so therefore to us fans, LINKIN PARK is Chester’s band, even though Mike Shinoda started it.
I got to attend the Dallas show this last week Nov 8. Sold out concert. Facts ! Best part, we got to share the concert with our kids who are now grown and they like Linkin Park. They know Chester will be in our heart forever but we are glad that we kept an open arms for Emily. We love the album.❤
@@jackasmaracas4362 I don't like Taylor Swift but what I think you should also realize is someone else's garbage might be someone else's gold. That's why She's still outsold whatever band you're into.
I was against Emily until. I took the time to listen, and WHAAA 😲 I was blown away. Her energy matches Mike's, and they did a 360, and now I am so happy for all of them.
I admit at first I didn't like the new singer but then I realized that Mike has the right to continue LP because he is the founder even though a little controversial because Chester's family is against it. Mike has the right to follow his heart and grief the way he wants. The way I see it this is LP revamped and not replacing Chester. Also the hate for Emily is unjust. You cant judge and blame someone for their past.
You know what's crazy? Serial killers, rapists, terrorists all have people in their lives that love them and maybe didn't know they did horrible shit before it all came to light. People like you act like "Oh man, she should have known he was a creepy sex offender POS! How could she not know??" Maybe he treated her differently. There are people I'm an absolute bastard towards, people I don't tolerate and will tell it to their faces. Is that how I am with everyone? Nope. Not even close. So maybe he was a POS towards those women (you say it like they found him on top of them, but they didn't. It's all circumstantial.) and I can believe he did all of that. But I also believe he was genuine and caring with her and she had no clue about anything he had done. If my friend gets called a rapist and I have NO evidence to support that besides a stranger's word, I'm sure as shit defending them. And hey, if it turns out he is, I'm cutting ties and moving forward. Cause he was a POS to someone else, not me. Throw him under the bus, and you're basically saying that you can't make mistakes and have shitty days. If you're not perfect, you deserve for your friends to abandon you and treat you like garbage.
i was one of the OML album haters when it got released, and after a short time, we've lost Chester, and that made me feel so guilty and stupid. now, i want to embrace the new Linkin Park. It's so hard, but i need to free myself from this guilt.
People are hilarious. It’s not like this is the first time this has ever happened. Even AC/DC replaced their singer in the 80s when Bon Scott died. Queen did it with Adam Lambert. I can guarantee you that Chester would be totally fine with the band going on without him and he’d be rolling in his grave for all the people saying that it’s “not Linkin Park” 😅
@@Triscuit585or Ryo with Crystal Lake. Band lost 90% of their fanbase with that move. I mention it with your Howard comment because, like with Chester, those three chose to leave their bands. Chester, obviously in a much more tragic and permanent fashion. But still. In those cases, for the band to get that "it's not ____ anymore 🤬" kind of reaction is just ridiculous. Like, they never fired anyone. They didn't push them out of a moving car or kicked them down a flight of stairs. It's a personal choice, whether it's something that can be remedied (like Howard guesting with KSE, Adam Gontier being 3DG other lead vocalist) or permanent (LP's situation), it shouldn't be the band's prerogative to change their name and start again. Mike could have done Fort Minor, he probably will go back at some point. But he's clearly really happy to do more LP. I don't think he'd be as excited to start fresh.
If Linkin park saved many of us, then why can't Linkin park save themselves. This is honoring their legacy and building on it. They didn't force this. They didn't do some big pr tour leading up to announcing theyre back. They made the album quietly and in the same year they announced they're back, they released an album.
I was considering it but I’m not touching that album with a ten mile pole. Even with Chester, dudes put out trash albums after Meteora, except MAYBE Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns. Big maybe.
Some people have unrealistic expectations or simply enjoy complaining. I remember the most recent Linkin Park albums being criticized for not sounding like Linkin Park and other people complaining that Chester couldn't achieve the same notes anymore.
If the band is happy to move forward and they have someone they feel fits the music they want to make, I see no wrong in it. Chester was a kind hearted man, I think he would be happy for them to move forward and continue the legacy he helped build.
Well said! I guess the same people think slipknot isn’t slipknot.
Chester would be fine with it I’m sure of it
Well in the life performances there actually are only 3 of the 6 left. Brad might still be there but not live anymore.
I was there that night too man and aside from the show just being friggen awesome, it was so great to see Mike and the crew being so genuinely happy!
@colinhawks2469 It was amazing. I'm so happy I got to see it.

Great points. People act like this is the first time anyone's ever died in a band.
Prodigy too
Yip exactly. So I am moving on. Dont know why ppl complain. Just dont listen to it if you dont like it... like me 👍🏻
Except the voice of the singers FIT the sound. In this case here, it doesn't quite do the trick.
If we’re being honest, as long as Mike is around it’s Linkin Park. He formed the band, wrote and produced pretty much every song.
Facts.
Another fact: he knows Emily is better
Dave Grohl wrote most of Nirvana's material. It's not that he doesn't have the right. It's that it's tone deaf, and he's clearly just banking in on something that wouldn't have been as successful without Chester. As made apparent by his other project Fort Minor. He doesn't think a new project will bring him as much money so he's choosing to still use LP to his advantage.
The problem is that his motives are clear. He is doing this because LP brings more money than anything else he feels he could create.

A scientology lover? At least we know Emily is
I was fortunate enough to see them live 2 weeks ago in Paris.
Woah hey, let's not be calm reasonable and rational now
You're supposed to be outraged!

Nah ur right.
Saw her live and her vocals were drowned by the crowd's.
Fans took the Chester part a little too seriously lol
Been following Linkin Park since 2016 at 12 years old and I’m 21 now and I honestly am glad about their comeback. They’ll forever be the band that saved my life in 2017 from severe suicidal thoughts
It has happened so much that they had to add a line to When They Come For Me to pretty much summarize the fanbase. And they also had to write Bleed it Out for that.
My first thought when listening to the new album was, "Wow, this is every era of Linkin Park in one album." It was clearly not the same as it was with Chester, but it never would've been.
This, the album had something that made me feel like it was taken right out of pretty much every album they'd made up to this point.
I think it’s linkin park. Chester wouldn’t have wanted the band and his friends to stop. He would want them to continue sharing their music with us. Yes, I miss and love Chester. But I too loved the rest of the band. Keep up the great music and welcome on board Emily.

If a baby was born 7 years ago, at least that child would be in elementary school years by now. That's how long it is.

For my taste it sounds like Arch Enemy, but not as good as the original. When I want to listen to something that sounds like Arch Enemy then I listen to Arch Enemy.
Slipknot sounds good, Linkin Park? Not so much.
All I can say is just step away from being a fan
well said I do agree with this 100% I couldn't have said it myself
"LP were there before Chester"
Where are they before Chester? Where Xero before Chester? Did they make it?
That's a fair question - no one (least of all the band) is denying the obvious, enormous, key part that Chester played in their meteoric (pun mostly intended) rise to success. But the heart of the question is, 'Is it Linkin Park without him?'. And a lot of people feel that the band's history before Chester, and the fact that he was actually the last to join, lends credibility to the idea that the band is not just about one single individual.
No LP was created with Chester on board. They should have created a new name for Emily.

I wouldve changed the name to Linkin Zoo. Or Linkin School. Sweet missed opportunity
LINKIN PORK 4 LIFE!1!
I am very worried about Rob Bourdon. I hope nothing happens to him like what happened to Chester. Please make a video about him. Thanks
Not it is not Linkin Park, it’s a new band, it does not mean it’s bad
It literally IS Linkin Park. They have the same vibe and same energy. Chester made his decision. Let the band make theirs
@@widexawake_Is he? I don't think so.
@@theorel265 Is "who" what?

I loved Linkin Park since I was a kid. Glad to have them back. 💚
People need to stop bothering them.
I'm just happy to see them back too.
The crowd literally shook the entire stadium in Brazil this weekend, some goofballs might be upset, but the majority is enjoying what is happening.
Sorry to the haters, but this album is the most Linkin Park album they've done since M2M... I'm really digging it.
Living Things IMO was close to their earlier sound too.
The Hunting Party?
Saying "sorry" when you're wrong in every sense of the word
@@SpecializedRider1986 But that makes sense to say when you're wrong?
they did it to manipulate fans and it' s working.
@tinalschmidt-banks3415 I just don't think that it's Linkin Park. The same goes with Alice in Chains as well.
@20th_century_Ghost Why is it silly?
@@20th_century_Ghost It's Linkin Park and will always be Linkin Park no matter what.
@57HarleyDavidson
If you don't see why, then please keep on supporting them. We all have our own viewpoints.
From where I'm standing, that doesn't look or sound like Linkin Park. But I do understand why they're using the name. We're living in tough times, and the economy is kicking everyone's ass. It's definitely smart from a business perspective, so I definitely understand.
Heavy is the Crown HITS every time, very solid flowing song that has the band's core characteristics with a driving pulse to it.
From zero is the first album I've liked from front to back since minutes to midnight. I'm happy they are back.
Linkin park w Emily Armstrong...sublime w rome... same difference. Not a fan. They kept the same name because of better sales understandably.
@TheuglyTrip Iron Maiden with Blaze Bayley
How is that a money thing? Most of the members are still there. Why would they change the name?
My favorite Linkin Park song of all time is "In the End." It's the first song by them I ever learned on the drums, and I never get tired of hearing it.
All I know is that From Zero is one of the most consistently enjoyable records I've heard in a long time.
What are you listening to? Blank cds?
To me this is the best way to carry on the musical legacy of Chester's contribution.
Chester made his decision. Let the band and Mike make theirs peacefully. I absolutely love the new album actually.
“Made his decision” is such an incredibly disrespectful statement. Clearly you are clueless about people like his state of mind.
@@AWDTH1111zing
My immediate reaction was that they should have picked another name but I've since changed my opinion, seeing how happy they are to be back. This also makes me reflect on how everyone seems willing to pay respects to people when they're gone, but then are quick to bash and send negativity to those who are still alive, Mike Shinoda is here with us and so is the rest of the band, lets cherish them while they're alive and celebrate all that they've given us.
Favourite song is good things go, the vocals are so damn high. Literally Chester if he was a girl.
it might be my favorite LP song ever. it's beautiful.
Arguably is the most Linkin Park's album after Living Things
It's not that I don't want to listen to it it's just her voice for this style of music does not work
Same I ended up listening to Bobby Amaru's cover he recent did emptiness machine cover so good
Its amazing they are back and I love the new music love the new singer. None of it takes away from what they were.
After watching entire video on here I'd like to add Heavy is the crown as my personal favorite new song, especially with everything the band is going through. It's awsome.
as an Alice in Chains fan i say fk em ,do you dude if you want to reform Your Band do it -the die hard fans will follow🤘
If anyone wants them to create a new band then calling them Linkin Park would be my recommendation. That's who will be in this band!
The band is not LINKIN PARK it’s Xero. I know that Chester was technically not an original member, but Chester imprinted himself in LINKIN PARK so therefore to us fans, LINKIN PARK is Chester’s band, even though Mike Shinoda started it.
to me, fan, it wasn't chester's band.
Good Things Go is definitely the standout for me
A lot of people whining, but the numbers don't lie.
People also voted Trump in and are religious so
Arenas are sold out. So those whining peoples are just random person stuck to their own basement.
Taylor Swift does numbers, doesn't mean her music isn't garbage either, moot point.
It’s not that they decided to move on… it’s the SINGER they chose… SHE AINT IT
People would say that regardless who they chose though

Gay take
I admit at first I didn't like the new singer but then I realized that Mike has the right to continue LP because he is the founder even though a little controversial because Chester's family is against it. Mike has the right to follow his heart and grief the way he wants. The way I see it this is LP revamped and not replacing Chester. Also the hate for Emily is unjust. You cant judge and blame someone for their past.
Still don’t think she’s really been fully accountable for her actions in defending that dude.
It’s a complete disgrace to Chester’s legacy by having her in the band.
Accountable?... Please grow up.. Like you're perfect..
She has already addressed the issues.. move on.
You know what's crazy?
Serial killers, rapists, terrorists all have people in their lives that love them and maybe didn't know they did horrible shit before it all came to light.
People like you act like "Oh man, she should have known he was a creepy sex offender POS! How could she not know??"
Maybe he treated her differently.
@ lol who are you talking to? Yourself? 😂
i was one of the OML album haters when it got released, and after a short time, we've lost Chester, and that made me feel so guilty and stupid.
now, i want to embrace the new Linkin Park. It's so hard, but i need to free myself from this guilt.
and btw, after the loss of Chester, One More Light sounds different, and i embraced it.

Or Howard with Killswitch Engage. I know a lot of people that actually prefer Howard.
@@Triscuit585 Jesse was actually there before Howard, so it probably wasn't quite as controversial.
@@edshanks2189 I know. The point I’m trying to make is that there are people that don’t prefer the original singer.
If Linkin park saved many of us, then why can't Linkin park save themselves. This is honoring their legacy and building on it. They didn't force this. They didn't do some big pr tour leading up to announcing theyre back. They made the album quietly and in the same year they announced they're back, they released an album.
I do agree with you they’ve evolved

Even with Chester, dudes put out trash albums after Meteora, except MAYBE Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns.
Big maybe.
I never liked ATS but Living Things is great! You ought to give that one another chance.
Honestly don't. It has some decent songs on there, but nothing really of merit. It'll be forgotten in a week. What a disgrace to Linkin Park's legacy.
Some people have unrealistic expectations or simply enjoy complaining. I remember the most recent Linkin Park albums being criticized for not sounding like Linkin Park and other people complaining that Chester couldn't achieve the same notes anymore.
Haters hate...just enjoy the music
If the band is happy to move forward and they have someone they feel fits the music they want to make, I see no wrong in it. Chester was a kind hearted man, I think he would be happy for them to move forward and continue the legacy he helped build.
Its not a debate... It literally sounds like a cheap rip off LP
Perhaps the real issue is people don’t like Emily.
