The Kitchen Nightmares episode was called Barefoot Bob's. For some reason I get different results on which season it is. Sometimes I get season 5 episode 5. Other times I get season 6 episode 5 so just search for it by the restaurant name.
Most of the Tiger King clips were taken from episodes 1-3.

Speaking of missed opportunities. Apparently Stephanie and Patrick were on an episode of Maury. To no surprise, you can see the same extremely fake overacting that you see from the couple on the Steve Wilkos show. I am sad I did not find this before I released this video.

I think it’s less about intellect, and more about observation. I think most people just watch for the sake of entertainment. It wouldn’t be as entertaining if you were constantly analyzing every emotion of every person who comes on. Specifically shows like Steve. Jerry and Maury, I can’t even. Tooo fake for me.

I had 5 seconds of fame on kitchen nightmares, the episode with the Grasshopper. We did wait an incredibly long time for our food, Gordon Ramsay is a tall man, and when the food did come out my sister's food wasn't good but we were told to say that the food was good overall (this was the final night where Gordon transformed the restaurant). I also think our table was specifically singled out to wait a long time, as almost everyone else has food coming out. The cameraman and show runners kept coming up to our table asking for reactions and telling us things to say or guiding us to feel a certain way. It was a really eye opening experience for me, as I was (and still sort of am) a fan of kitchen nightmares. I know the BBC and Fox versions of the show were different, but just chalked it up to editing styles of the show. After that episode it really felt more like the producers and directors of the show wanted to see a certain reaction and guided us to make the reaction. I've never seen reality tv shows the same way ever again and tell anyone to take what you see on these shows with a grain of salt. Reality shows can be fun, but just know they are not reality.

The British version is way more real and down to earth. A lot of shows that go over to the US become overly edited and scripted, like they think US viewers have the attention span and intelligence of a goldfish. Which is silly.

I work in the television industry, and everything in this show is premeditated. Intel on the owners and employees is mined beforehand, so elements of interest can be dramatized. It is also to give interior decorators time to measure restaurant dimensions and purchase décor and appliances. A narrative is penned, in a typical three-part act.
The Dysfunction. The Turnaround. The Result.
Opening nights are heavily edited, as there is an unpracticed menu in the kitchen, inexperience with new restaurant procedure, and an overwhelming influx of customers keen on being on the show. There are also paid actors "planted" at several tables as customers, who are given cues for reactions and comments to up the drama. Pressure is unnecessarily put on employees to manufacture dissent.
The entire episode is pieced together, shuffled, spliced, with music and sound effects added for further dramatic effect. If there is something missing, then shots or sound bites from previous episodes are used, or recorded during the editing process. Truth and context is almost always sacrifices for drama.

I support cancel culture when it comes to certain people. Like when they scam their audience for example, or lie and decieve/ spread false lies to slander and ruin other peoples life. Or pedophiles, rapists etc... But I don't think it's fair to try to ruin someones life for saying the N.-word in anger or wtf ever. Life ain't that fucking serious that saying the N-word is going to put people in danger. There's way more dangerous exploitative people out there, please focus on them. Also if someone was a douchebag a few times in their past why are people going out of their way to dig up peoples past? Everyone is a douche once in a while, no one is always a perfect saint that always makes right choices. If someone is a douche 24/7 that's another thing. All I'm saying is that there are people that 100% deserve to be canceled, but there's also people that did a super tiny very normal misstep and people instantly jump on them saying they are the most evil person ever. Apparently leaving an incandescent bulb on for a full day costs 20c. So for a 30 day month you'd need 10 lights running constantly to cost $60. Most people only use lights between when the sun goes down til when they go to bed, let's say 5-10pm, and I doubt they're leaving every light in their house on, so it's nowhere near $60 a month saved.

I once saw me and my dad on TV saying something that we never ever said.
It was an irrigation project that we built for the community to have their few women who were a cooperative to grow vegetables for sale and it wasn't free.
My Dad was a high level government official and this was a weekend project from money he had loaned from a mutual bank.
A reporter from a local newspaper heard about the project and did a great piece.
Then a TV national broadcaster saw it & thats when the propaganda started.
Elections were months away and the ruling party stepped in & while my dad was in China they organized an opening ceremony with bells and whistles.
A clip of my father explaining the story of the project and how the cooperative was fetching water in 20ltr buckets on their heads from a kilometer away and how the project will pay back the loan by opening a legit business account and get a financial advisor free at the bank.
But they chopped it up to look like everything was done and paid for by the government / political party
The party then says this on TV
    1) This is a free gift for the (entire village) of 1000 people.
    2) We built it with our money
    3) the village can eat produce for free
    4) We will build 100s more projects like this all over the country for our people.
Next few days a cooperative chairwoman, secretary and treasurer show up to our house looking for dad saying they where kicked out of their positions and the farm was taken over by the party and no one is working because the diesel generator was out of fuel for pumping water and the vegetables are wilting.
But dad was in China, turns out dad was approached by the party asking for his blessing to use the project as campaign material and he refused and sent them to the cooperative leaders because it wasn't his place to decide.
And they responded by sending him to China for a month long conference.
They were told to go to the first reporter for help and then they broke the story of what happened & the invaders got angry and vandalized everything and burned the generator.
The public was p*ssed off and that's when the government decided to burn those guys saying that they were not part of their party.
Arrests were made & after that my father started getting unfair treatment because they thought he was the one who snitched 😏

months late but my older cousin was on very early US big brother
If you don't know the show, it's a bunch of strangers living in a house together who evict each other one by one each week
The actual TV show is edited but there's live feeds
the live feeds film the houseguests 24/7 even in the bathroom and people watch
My cousin went on in 2006 or so and ended up in an alliance with the most hated people on the show in history
A certain contestant convinced my cousins alliance that the live feeds did not work in a particular room
So they would say things they shouldn't, like one girl in the group admitted to sleeping with a married man at 18.. extremely personal stuff
it ruined there lives and reputations even before social media was major (this was CIRCA 2006)
There were death threats, 100s of threads, even sexual assault threats against my aunt who was the most liked out of the group
It was horrible. The winner of that season and most of that group refuse to even acknowledge the show now.

Or the fact that in all the episodes of him berating and insulting people, no one has ever just hauled off and punched him or even kicked him and his dumb tv show out of the place. I know a lot of those owners will put up with a lot to get the money the show promises them, but few normal people not acting for a tv show are willing to be insulted without some form of retaliation.

Also, that’s not how Gordon Ramsay acts in real life at all. He built this persona of being a swearing jerk but you see interviews or his own UA-cam channel, and while he is judgmental, he’s much more lighthearted and funny. Those ‘outbursts’ he has are strictly for the producers. I think what happened was he really did lose it one time and the producers said, “yes, we’re gonna go with that!”

All of these things are propaganda spread by a company who mines diamonds. If you wanted, you could go mine for diamonds yourself. The reason diamonds are pricey is because people believe this propaganda and I can't blame them for it. Most people don't know about this and have lived their lives believing a lie.

I worked at a bridal salon and we had TLC come to the store to film several different shows. It was the same camera crew each time, and anyone who wanted to be on the show had to sign a massive contract. I never wanted to be on, but it was enjoyable being a fly on the wall as they filmed. A few minute segment could take hours to film, multiple takes, acting and so forth. To spice things up or to make something more interesting, the subjects being filmed, who were not actors and sometimes were my coworkers themselves, suddenly had to be actors and would take direction to play out drama or to pose as someone that they weren't. It was great. So, when customers would come in and want to recreate what they see on TLC, I would give them a brief lesson on how none of what they saw was real. There may be a general premise that is real, and they are real people, but what you see is still just as manufactured as TV shows and politics.

Just like how you don't sit around the dinner table and talk about things that are common knowledge in real life that is why its weird when it happens in TV. The way Tiger king portrayed Carole and big Cat rescue was criminal. I used to lead trips for my university over winter break and I went to big cat rescue twice. It was by far the best run animal sanctuary I’ve been to. She not only goes above and beyond caring for these animals. She is also puts a huge emphasis on educating everyone about why it’s cruel to buy these animals. Also you are correct about the cages. The parts they showed are just for feeding and isolating while the main enclosure is way bigger

This is why I always encourage people to take statistics courses, even if they’re just introductory. The basics of statistics is just learning to know what you’re looking at, being able to analyze data you’re given, and also checking the bias/motives of the source and any commentary/interpretations of that source.
It’s super simple stuff but learning how to parse through and critically think about information you’re given is half the battle

As someone who studied acting at university - It's often very easy to tell who's acting by asking a simple question.
Does this sound like a speach from a play?
Actors never ever want to use filler words such as "like, um and er" because it shows a badly prepared actor however ironically it's what real people do. Very few actors are able to take saying "um, like" without it sounding fake. That's the biggest give away that they don't want people to know. 😉

Actors say their part, finish and then the next actor says his or her line. It is very choppy by comparison.
