Im a single mum of 5 and im very busy so i wake up earlier than everybody i do my 5 minute workout and another 5 minute out in nature running and after i have my tea breakfast and last my coffee. I have my medication at night but now i ll try in the morning to see if its actually better 😅 . I try my best for me and my kids i love watching your podcasts 😊 wish you all the best
How do you find the energy straight out of bed?? This is what I’m struggling with right now. I’m up after everyone is sound asleep wrapping & cleaning everything up, getting prepped for the next day, showering, etc. so I don’t lay down most nights till 12am. Then I’m back up at 5am to get my husband off to work, I usually need the next 20 mins to get fully woken up and caffeinated before then waking and readying the kids. I’ve tried so hard to be a morning person but I’ve struggled my whole life. 😴
@gabbiemartin3091 I find the key is going to bed earlier. If you're only getting 5 hrs sleep on a regular basis, you're chronically sleep deprived. If you get the sleep you need, you will have more focus and energy, and be able to accomplish more in less time (in my experience). Also, deciding what is MOST important (for you and your family--which NEEDS to be YOUR health, or you can't take care of them) and what needs to be 'let go (like cleaning, or 'shoulds' that aren't essential.) There will NEVER be enough time to do EVERYTHING. Then, get help in areas where others can do things. (Weekly cleaner? Sitter for a couple hrs to give you time to focus on your essentials?) I'm 57, kids are grown. I mostly homeschooled them, hubby worked long hrs so I could be home. WISH I had understood these things sooner!

Often I use my busy mind as the object of my meditation practice...i cant stop it but i can "step out of the river" and watch the thoughts float past, rather then getting swept away in the river. It creates space in the mind and calms my nervous system. My day reflects much more equanimity.

I love this video. Thank you for reminding me to go back to my morning routines! I work as a teacher and if I don't make time for me before work I've been using it right when the students come in to my class...we listen to positive affirmations for 3 mins then do a 10 min qigong video to move. Then I move on to teache Language. I teach grade 2. I used to wake up at 4am and do qigong then drink green tea in silence before my son wakes up...and no one needs me. As a busy working mom, this is possible! And doable!
Jim. Thanks for what you've done for us. I always still give up my priorities for others. When the tough time comes, I'm always alone. But I feel I'm not smart enough to put my duties first in front of others, because however much I tried it turned out for them. This is frustrating as it keeps on happening. And when im failing or slow as a result of them. They would definitely ask , who ask you to do that. How can i change this habit practically and smart way.

My problem in the morning is that my husband wants my attention as my routine begins or right in the middle of it I journal pray breathe, and meditate. Then I do a 45 to an hour clean wipe down, then I clean myself, my teeth and strength exercises takes a total of about 2 to 3 hours, it always gets broken up by the need for attention from my husband. It breaks it up, causes anxiety and ruins the day. So when people are trying to do a routine that enlightens their life, makes it better more calm less anxiety improves all around and it gets an inability to be completed by others. Finally get an empty nest with no children and now it’s him how do I make him understand? I’m not trying to ignore him
How about getting him to join you in the routine. I finally got my wife to meditate with me each day. Then we added an exercise time each morning. It is such an expected morning routine for both of us.
1. You do have a morning routine. But are you aware of it? If you're not aware and happy with it, you're most likely not proud of the results you get daily. 2. The 3 M's : Mindfulness. Movement. Mindset. 3. What do your actions say about your self identity? Fulfill small promises to yourself to improve your self image. 4. Behavior is belief driven. Opening yourself up to negative input in the morning is one of the most dangerous things you can do to yourself. At least, journal instead. 5. What is one thing you are grateful for today? What is one important thing you have to do today? What qualities do you want to showcase to the world today?
