Thanks. I am experimenting with this. Into the eighth day of practicing six resolves, I must say, I am enjoying the success. They have become goals and they not only give me a sense of purpose, but also a sense of achievement. Overall, a very positive impact.
We are so used to beating ourselves up that we forget the value of collaborating with the way our brains are wired. Layering good behaviors onto bad habits is a fresh perspective challenging the idea that breaking patterns requires brute force.
This is really good, many thanks to Dr. Huberman, I'm a huge fan of his Huberman Lab podcast, and listen to it almost every day! Good luck to y'all with changing/building your habits! 🤗 My good habits that go after the bad ones: Push-ups/plank stand (5 mins) Meditation (10 mins) Play the guitar - a really difficult song that I've recently learned (5 mins) Read a scientific article (10 mins)
These are mine ......1. sevnty five minutes exercise regime, 2. Mindfull meditation both in cam and disturbing environment, 3. Read ten pages from a classic English novel , 4. Two hours English literature study routine for my UGC net preparation, 5. Eat completey clean six times in a week , 6. No faf .
I'd add to this 2 or 3 levels of varying difficulty, eg increase number of fruit by one or two items per day though this is something that should be tapered similar to an addiction. A more challenging one might be smoking cessation, remove the first one each day for a week, eg one before breakfast? Just after breakfast? Just before getting on the bus. That builds up delayed gratification, coping mechanisms and the ability to say no that are vital later on.
Body Mechanics and longevity. Mary Bowen, 94 years & still teaching Lolita San Miguel… The only two Pilates elders still alive that were certified with Joseph Pilates directly. Jillian Hessel Second generation Rael Isacowitz founder of BASI Pilates These people are the real deal and know everything There is to know about body mechanics. There is an interesting history of Joseph Pilates. Also, the controversy in the 80s regarding using the Pilates name. Most important is the science behind this modality and how it serves the human body.
This is my observation of younger men, middle age men in my mid 70's.. You simply don't value silence, you don't value just breathing. It's, I got to do this this then this. Of course you have to workout, you have to eat, you have to sleep, you have to keep your affairs in order. The discussed approach Huberman is talking about just doesn't last.
Part of my habits are to be in silence meditating with my red light therapy mask on.. over the last 4 years, I've accumulated countless habits by stacking them slowly on top of eachother. And it actually has been sustainable because it's been a slow process and stacking them on top of an already set habit. Totally works
How does one change a habit of needing to eat carbs at midnight after failing to fall asleep. This (nightly) bad habit induces sleep, but raises blood glucose (spiking) enabling weight gain. Can't find a solution to this most difficult problem. I am a big fan of your NSleep prorocol. Thanking you.
1. Cold shower in the morning 2. Exercise 10 minutes in the morning 3. Read daily readings from the Bible 4. Learn spanish for 15 mins 5. Play harmonica for 15 mins 6. One task off the list
sounds good. i could write like a 100 or a 1000 more, and i don't meant swaping spanish for french or harmonica for flute thje important part is to understand that if you want to have a good life you ahve to take good care of your body, mind and spirit reading from the Bible is good even for atheists, focus on New Testament and try to get the best understanding of what it means, this book is quite deep and can help you know yourself, and the world and your path, giving you confidence against people trying to manipulate yuou and get you off your way
My 6 small habits 1.take a sun rise 5-10 minutes 2.meditation and breathing technique 5-10 minutes 3.weight training +calisthenic 30m to 1 hr 4.running or cycling 45 minutes up up 5.Cooking dinner with good nutrient by my self 6.Learning new things+Practice to be a pilot
Ok im gonna do this 1. Learn english even just 1 grammar 2. few phone screen time before bed 3. clean house even just 1 room/ laundry everyweek 4. learn social skill again 5. Replace porn with exercising 6. talk to more people
Dr. Huberman out here dropping the science-backed hacks we all needed to hear! 🧠✨ Building habits? Breaking habits? Turns out it’s less about willpower and more about rewiring those sneaky neural circuits. Love the permission to fail-because let’s face it, “perfect” isn’t a habit anyone’s mastered yet. 😅 And the idea of replacement behaviors? Chef’s kiss. Goodbye doom scrolling, hello... well, anything better than doom scrolling. 📱➡📖 Excuse us while we attempt to rewire our circuits in 21 days. Wish us luck-and maybe a backup plan. 🙌 #NeuroHacks #HabitsMadeEasy #ScienceOfChange
We slowly become hour habits…this is why we have to choose them wisely! I recently made a video about Journaling. A habit that is changing my life! 🙌☺️
I guess when a parent or guardian uses punishment for the ”bad habits” of a child, nail biting for example, it creates an equal and opposite response. Not necessarily improving other aspects of child development like self efficacy or esteem.
These 21 days to establish a new habit, which are written everywhere and you mentioned, are they true? There are reports that dispute them (*). What is the truth about the time it takes to establish a behavior? Thanks! (*)Philippa Lally is a researcher in the field of health psychology at University College London. In a study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology, Lally showed different conclusions.
the fact that you have to manually copy and paste every follow-up item from the copilot chat into the tasks table to create a task seems not advanced. why can't it do that too? i feel microsoft tends to miss things

Hahaha, I may have an answer to NOT picking the phone up. Get a broken one and carry that one around. Or put a sticky note over your phone to remind you not to use it.
Add before take away. For example, if you want to reduce the amount of caffeine you take in every day, first just start drinking more water and get more electrolytes. Add more greens in your diet which keeps you more alert. Then start taking away the caffeine I don’t know what your bad habit is, but this works for most bad habits.
