As a person who was also affected by diva curl even just using their gel. I feel for you so much, wanting to go on a healthy hair journey and it destroys your hair isn't fun. I wish you the best, my hair is almost back to normal it is starting to curl back again. The short pieces still are having a hard time growing back but I'm ok with the progress and am looking forward to trying some of your tips.
I am so happy to see your beautiful spirit back here on UA-cam! Girl, I found you as I discovered that when my hair was healthy, it is curly. My cousin was diagnosed with uterine cancer 3 years ago, when she shaved her head before the chemo and radiation took it, I shaved mine with her. It was only while it was growing back in that I realized that at 43 years old, my hair was not simply wavy in some spots, it has spirals, and coils and yes, the occasional wave. I wanted to keep them, and when I went looking for that other curl brand is when I found you. I stayed way back from that and have only used natural stuff on my hair since then, and although my hair can still get very heavy and start to pull the curls, coils and spirals into simple waves, that is when I know my hair is getting too heavy, or it is getting time to wash it. Thank you. Thank you for sharing your story so others don't feel alone and so those of us that are discovering our curls, don't fall to marketing gimmicks.
YOU... my Love... set me on a course of transformation. I thought I was going CRAZY until I saw your video...it literally changed my life! I am so so so so sooooo happy you are healthy, and recovering and alive and well. So much love to you and for you!!!
Just finished watching the HBO episode and it was SO informative. I didn't realize the extent to which DevaCurl had harmed you. It's so unfair. You are so strong for being so transparent and putting your story out there, and to continue showing us your healing process. Thank you Ayesha ❤
I did cut almost all my hair off, including an under shave. That was in the fall of 2020. I quit devacurl in fall 2019 and just couldn't deal with the damage anymore. My curls started springing back almost a year after I cut my hair off. I didn't use anything on my hair except hair oil and regular cleansing. I was basically gaslit into believing it was from product buildup so I was afraid it'd keep happening. The last few months, my hair really seems to have come alive. People have been commenting on how great my hair looks and asking if I've done something differently. It's great to see you were able to do this without cutting your hair off. I wish I'd just stuck it out. It was pretty traumatic though, to see how bad my hair looked, when I was taking care of it for the first time in my life. Luckily, it grows pretty quickly. Congratulations on your progress, your hair looks amazing.
I noticed a lot of the same symptoms as you when I was using Devacurl too. The itchiness and headaches were so bad. 😫 I’m so glad I only used it for a few months and not years. I really thought it was just me until you came out against Devacurl.
Wow welcome back Ms.Ayesha!!!!! It's such a huge relief to see you again. I am so glad to see that your beautiful hair has improved a lot. It's absolutely gorgeous and very long!!!!! You've come so far and I just wanna let you know that we are all so proud of you Ayesha. You are seriously one courageous and formidable woman for continuing on, not giving up without a fight, and working your ass off. Your entire hair journey from where you first started to where you are now as well as experiencing a major hair glow-up with your hair is absolutely inspiring. You are one of the many proofs that there's ALWAYS a light at the end of the tunnel and that you WILL get through the hardest knocks in life even if it takes years. Things will get better no matter what and you are the literal proof of that. Your strength and courage to keep going and put one foot in front of the other is very admirable indeed. I am so happy for you and I'm so very proud of you and I wish you great blessings and major positive vibes on your journey continuing forward from here. I know I'm just some random stranger on the internet so my comment probably won't mean anything at this point but I'm just so happy that you're finally back and alive. Anyway enough of my sappiness. Welcome back Ms.Ayesha!!!!! We've all missed you dearly and I hope you have a marvelous and safe day. Happy early Easter and God Bless!!!!! 🐇🐣🙏
You are the reason I started my CG journey about 4yrs back a random UA-cam viedo popped up of u which literally changed the way I saw myself and made me fall in love with my curls. It's because of u that I am finally comfortable in my own skin. U inspired me to embrace my curls and love them. It may be a tough time that you are going through. I am sure the last few months where not easy. Stay strong there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have been checking periodically just to see if ur back. Welcome back. Stay strong. ❤ from India 🇮🇳
I'm glad to see you! I've also been on a multi-year journey trying to reverse as much damage as possible and repair my scalp. My hair is really similar to yours but between so much breaking off and it just not wanting to curl its been a struggle. I'm finally seeing real improvement. I'm so glad you are too.
I'm a glass half full person and this whole thing has opened all of our eyes. So I thank you for the tough journey you have been on. I hope one day you launch that curly girl brand we have all drempt of. One with integrity and great love and care for curly hair. Thank you, Thank you 💞
this gives me so much hope. devacurl destroyed my curls & while there has been progress since 2019, it’s very very minimal. i’m so happy for you & your recovery
I'm really glad you're back and doing better. I just watched the documentary and finding out you had to get hearing aids was rough. I'm sorry you're going through that, and I'm glad you're on the road to recovery.
You have no idea how much joy this brings me, especially the part when you said a ringlet formed after the protein treatment. I don't even have curly hair myself but I saw your Devacurl damage video during Covid and during the time I was depressed. Now watching where things are going just makes me so much happier to realise how life has shifted for the better. Much love sis
I’m a diva curl damaged woman as well and had to repair my hair regrow my hair with vitamins and only natural products. Don’t know why I switched from my natural products to diva curl in the first place. It totally ruined my hair but things to my persistence and gradually trimming my hair my hair is beautiful now. Thank you for your bravery
When I started using Deva Curl, it was a good product but like you, I started experiencing the same symptoms. My scalp itched so bad for over a year and my hair looked grayish and ashy like the color was draining, all down the follicle, not just new growth. It was limp and so depressing. I chucked Deva so fast and I'm still in recovery but I would never have known of it weren't for you. Thanks for sharing your struggle and journey!
Girl ! I have just recently found you on UA-cam ! The first video that I saw was from 4 years ago and I was amazed at your beautiful hair and YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE/PERSONALITY/All of it. The next video I saw was taking about your hair damage from deva curl and my heart literally sank …. I was so sad for you and your hair. And I was more sad to see that you weren’t as happy as the first video I saw of you. My thoughts and prayers to you on your journey. So glad to see that even as you’ve struggled so many have reached out to you to show you love and support- there’s not enough of that in the world and you do deserve it. Take care and remember just take each day as it comes in your healing process. Best wishes to you….
I just got my hair back!! I used deva curl almost 3 years ago and I was sooo sad cause it ruined my hair only after one use!! I’m happy your hair is better now!
You're so strong! I admire your patience and consistency! I've got my hair burned at a salon when I went from black to ginger and, I bought a lot of products and follow the advice of a trusted hairstylist and I just couldn't keep up I was so impatient that I chopped to the level of my jaw ... is growing back beautiful And strong but, I wish I was more patient with the recovery of my long hair ...gosh I spend so much money the hair was looking better but I'm so impatient !!!!
I'm glad you posted this. One to see how you fixed your hair and it doesn't look like it was ever damaged. Two bc I bought a generic product that I shall not mention but didn't know it was a devacurl dupe. My scalp has been insanely irritated. So I just stopped the video, looked, and got right in the shower then came back here. So I shall see if it was that causing it.
Update: I'm already seeing small improvement so now I'm doing deep cleansing every so often and just adding tons of moisture. Thank you! And I'm picking up some CBD oil to help.
hi im so glad you have gotten so much progress with your hair. when i first watched you, i saw the damage devacurl did to your hair and i was so upset and heartbroken because you have very pretty hair. im so happy for you to see the updates and i came back every few months to check up on your channel. the first time i watched you i believed i had straight hair so i only watched in awe, now i have joined the curly hair girls as im done being in denial and i cant expressed how happy i am to see your hair in such a better health.
Thank you for sharing this. We love you. We are praying for you. You shouldn't have to explain your absence - anyone who understands, will understand. And anyway who cares. Do what's good for you x
Omg I think about you EVERY DAY!! I work on base in a PX and every day I pass a display of Deva Curl. And I have to work to not destroy it. I am glad that you are doing better, and I am praying for you. Love you! 🥰
I am so so happy to see you back and doing so much better. I completely understand why you needed time off and why it was hard to come back. Thank you so much for the tips. I wish you all the best!
hello, Ayesha! i just wanted to say i am incredibly happy for you, for finding a way to channel your stress into action, for finding peace, for taking all these steps towards healing. you may not be where you want to be right now, but you had already made so much progress! you are incredible. i had never contacted you before but i've been silently thinking of you for a long time. i am delighted to see you again and to know you are taking a good care of yourself. please take all the time you need for yourself before you feel comfortable to come back (if you decide to not come back - that's good too! whichever will be the best for you), many people are cheering for you and wishing you a wonderful life. please keep treating yourself with love and kindness! may you reach full recovery soon (both mind and hair wise)
Watched the documentary before I even knew this video was posted. I was so surprised, relieved, and happy to see you Ayesha, but also felt sadness thinking about what you and many others have been struggling with in terms of Deval Curl and just toxic hair products in general. Glad to see you back but so proud of you for using your voice even if it brought discomfort. 💞
I remember watching your devacurl vidoes several years ago and just recently thought of them/you. Hope your hair continues improving and thank you for sharing your story!! Hope you return one day and share more
Sending positive thoughts your way, Ayesha! Take whatever time you need to heal. I used Caviar shampoo and conditioner right after throwing out all of my Deva Curl products too, and saw new growth and my first ringlets again in about a year.
Miss you so much Ayesha. Glad to have you back, this is coming from the bottom of my heart. I've been watching your videos when I first learned about curly hair method and yours were the first videos I first refered when I was in high school. It is overwhelming to see you come back all of a sudden with a bang. All the power to you my love. 💖💗💖💗💖💗
oh, ayesha. i am so happy to see your face and your bubbly personality. i hope not only is your hair and scalp healing but also your heart and your emotional/mental health. thank you for the update. your story matters and it will definitely help so many others
So good to see you back Ayesha! I have had hair loss start at 20 and I had lost a lot of hair post baby #2 about 10 years years ago that left me with 1/4 density. Hair loss is in my genetics - both parents have androgenic alopecia. I don't know what type of hairloss I have as it's likely I started with traction then had telogen effluvium from pregnancy and could have androgenic too. I know how hard it is to have hair loss. My curly hair journey started in May 2019 and by Sept 2020 I started to see improvement in my hairline from advice my curl hair specialist told me to try. In 2021 I was seeing more regrowth. I've tried some of the recommendations you have suggested and agree they have definitely helped. Hair regrowth is a slow process too. Thank you for sharing your experience as it's helpful. TC!
It's so good to have some news from you. I'm really glad that your hair improved a lot during this period. You inspired me so much while I was in transition, and I missed you. I wish u all the best, come back soon, plz. Kisses from Brazil!
You were the FIRST person I saw with curly hair that made me realize that curls can be beautiful!! I’m so thankful for you and incredibly proud!! The struggle and journey you went through breaks my heart but I am happy you are getting through it ❤️ curls are a form of personality, of self and ever think of my curls leaving me is to scary ❤️❤️
I haven't watched yet and will gain only so much since our hair types are pretty different but literally had the same revelation. I've been dealing with breakage for so long and I kept thinking I just need to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Truth is I needed to go a whole repair/rebuild/treatment journey and stay on it. My hair has spoken. Cant wait to see what products you recommend!
I love to see your old videos regarding products you don't use have been removed. I was wondering where you have been and glad to see your hair is on the bettering side. I also see your emotions on this. Just know you cannot help other before you help yourself first. After you healed the UA-cam community will be here you listen to your story. At this point we at least have all stopped the DC products. Happy ramadan 💚🤲🏼
Welcome back! Thank you for sharing your truth with us. Sending you healing and supportive vibes. May you effortlessly return to thriving and love. Be well Ayesha
I saw that documentary and it brought me to your channel. I will say that people were just laughing at curly girls and naturals that used homemade products in their hair. But I was inspired by someone in my family developing a genetic condition that was never present in my family history, I cut out as much chemical products and I even cook more at home to monitor what goes in and on my body. It is of benefit, if the words are too big to understand on the label don’t buy it. My hair suffered with chemical processes and the more I cut out and used food home made products the better my hair looked and felt. I wish healing to all of you affected by this company and we the consumers have the power to shut them down when we stop spending with them
You have the most beautiful curl. You are One of the first people to teach me my curl is beautiful. I hope you get back what you had. I started Cgm and my curl looked beautiful for a while. But now again it’s falling apart. I can’t afford to do all things you’re doing. I wish I knew what to do.
Can't wait to hear your story! I've checked periodically to see if anything was going on and I'm so glad you are slowly starting back up. It's obvious you are still hurting, the emotional healing takes so much longer than the physical healing, HUGS!
Omg! you are baaaaaaccccckkkkk! I have checked your channel periodically for awhile. The time you need is important, of course, I am just so happy to see a new post from you. ❤❤❤
I'm so glad you're recovering. Tha k you for Shari your story and tips! K18 has worked amazing for my damaged bleached hair. The more damage the more you feel it work. K18 kept me from having to cut my length. I have long, thick, curly hair. It takes me two pumps, rarely three. At the $75 (it cost here) I get 50ml, two pumps means I get 25 uses of this mask. That's $3 per use. I used it 1x a week for 8 weeks and then went to maintenance using it once every other week (so in maintenance a bottle will last me a year). It is a little bit pricey but I feel you get what you paid for, especially those with bleach and chemical damage.
I just watched the entire docuseries. Thank you so much for sharing your story! It took a long time for me to realize the damage done to my scalp with a different product. What you're doing is positively impacting more people than you realize
Thank you thank you thank you for posting this Ayesha! Your wisdom and research is so appreciated. I feel like I have tried everything and my scalp has still not recovered. Bless you sweet girl. This is not the end this is the beginning of a beautiful journey you're on and I'm happy that you have found the courage to share it with us.
Glad to see your hair is recovering and that you're feeling better. I was wondering how you were doing. Definitely going to check out that documentary.
Your hair looks stunning, so happy to see you thriving. I've checked over the last year or so to see where you were and then saw you on the trailer for not so pretty so dropped by to see if you are active. Happy to see your healing xx
I watched your video's for a while and you helped me get serious about my hair care. Which led to me being myself and coming out. I would be devastated if that happened to my hair. It is a big part of my gender identity without it I just can't even imagine. We love you and please know you do a lot more than promote hair care. You help give people courage, spread love and feel accepted. You are amazing and we will be waiting for you whenever your ready to come back!!🥰💝
So good to see you back!! I am going to have to try some of this. I have hair trauma besides struggling with curl pattern (incident with literally ripped out by my almost adult aged disabled child), where I have significant bald spot that hasn't regrown in over 2 years. There have been so many times I've wanted to shave it all off to start from scratch but your video gives me hope that improvement is possible.

I'm so happy to see an update from you!!!
Never feel obligated to film or post if you're not ready - you owe us nothing!!
YOU... my Love... set me on a course of transformation. I thought I was going CRAZY until I saw your video...it literally changed my life! I am so so so so sooooo happy you are healthy, and recovering and alive and well.
So much love to you and for you!!!
QUEEN. You have lived this with courage, grace and radiance. Proud of you and adore you
Just finished watching the HBO episode and it was SO informative. I didn't realize the extent to which DevaCurl had harmed you. It's so unfair. You are so strong for being so transparent and putting your story out there, and to continue showing us your healing process. Thank you Ayesha ❤
What is the hbo episode called
@@jacquelinefeliciano6135 it's the fourth episode, I think it's literally called "Hair"
Less pain more hope in your eyes! So glad to see you make a video. I hope you and your family were well over these crazy couple of years☺️
BABE WAKE UP AYESHA POSTED!!! Missed you so much 😭😭 I’ll be using a vpn to watch the series!! You have support from all around the world ❤️❤️
I did cut almost all my hair off, including an under shave. Congratulations on your progress, your hair looks amazing.
as a guy with aging hair, no lie, you have me wondering if I should do some of this.
Try it man what’s the worse that could happen
u definitely should
I noticed a lot of the same symptoms as you when I was using Devacurl too.
Happy to see you back! Thank you for letting us know what you did to repair your hair! You showed a lot of tips which I have never heard of before.
I’m so happy to see you. Thank you for being vulnerable and you were so missed.
I'm continually so happy to see u healing and sharing what works for you ❤
I am so glad that you are mending and healed some. I genuinely hope your heart is healing and you are happy.
I just got my hair back!! I used deva curl almost 3 years ago and I was sooo sad cause it ruined my hair only after one use!! I’m happy your hair is better now!
You're so strong! I admire your patience and consistency! I've got my hair burned at a salon when I went from black to ginger and, I bought a lot of products and follow the advice of a trusted hairstylist and I just couldn't keep up I was so impatient that I chopped to the level of my jaw ... is growing back beautiful
And strong but, I wish I was more patient with the recovery of my long hair ...gosh I spend so much money the hair was looking better but I'm so impatient !!!!
So happy to see you here again. Thank you for your sincerity. No doubt never. You are doing the right thing now. Proud of you.
You are real life Jasmine. Glad to hear from you 🤗 It is wonderful that you have recovered.
hi im so glad you have gotten so much progress with your hair. when i first watched you, i saw the damage devacurl did to your hair and i was so upset and heartbroken because you have very pretty hair. im so happy for you to see the updates and i came back every few months to check up on your channel. the first time i watched you i believed i had straight hair so i only watched in awe, now i have joined the curly hair girls as im done being in denial and i cant expressed how happy i am to see your hair in such a better health.
Hope you're okay Ayesha. Wishing for your return ❤
Love you! 🥰
I'm so happy to hear that
One. You are ALIVE
Two. Just to see you post again
I hope your healing process continues on
I am so so happy to see you back and doing so much better.
i seriously was thinking about you 2-3 days ago and wondering where you are and now seeing this makes me so happy that you are still working so hard.
For the fact that you came back to us is amazing. Thank you for not giving up on yourself.🔥🔥🔥
oh, ayesha. i am so happy to see your face and your bubbly personality. i hope not only is your hair and scalp healing but also your heart and your emotional/mental health. thank you for the update. your story matters and it will definitely help so many others
This is one of the best information videos on here in reference to hair care. Ppl believe what they read without knowing about healthy hair.
Been thinking of you constantly. So glad to see an update and no shaved head. Love you ❤️
Wow. That was a lot all around. I can’t imagine how much it all costs, what it must’ve been like and how much of your energy it took.
I thought about you yesterday night... and here you are! Sending you as much love as I can. We'll wait until you're ready
welcome back!!!! i just got finished watching the docuseries; GOOD JOB AND BIG HUGS!!!
I love the *let's just skip the intro* !!!!! Finally someone with some sense
I wish healing to all of you affected by this company and we the consumers have the power to shut them down when we stop spending with them
FINALLY AFTER 2 YEARS (almost :3) !
I'm so glad you are back, I thought about you a lot!
Welcome back!!! Positive vibes and love to you always!
Thank you for your update. It’s good to see that you were feeling strong enough to film and post this. Sending you lots of love ☺️
Thank you so much for coming back. I missed you.
You have the most beautiful curl. You are One of the first people to teach me my curl is beautiful. I hope you get back what you had. I started Cgm and my curl looked beautiful for a while. But now again it’s falling apart. I can’t afford to do all things you’re doing. I wish I knew what to do.
dude i was literally just checking her channel yesterday to see what was going on. wild. we missed you.
welcome back!!! so nice to see you, cannot wait for your next videos
Can't wait to hear your story! I've checked periodically to see if anything was going on and I'm so glad you are slowly starting back up. It's obvious you are still hurting, the emotional healing takes so much longer than the physical healing, HUGS!
Spisha! Am so happy you're back! 😭😍🤗
OH MY GOSH AYESHA WELCOME BACKKKKKKK
Love you lady! Stay true to yourself and take whatever time you need to heal!!
Omg! you are baaaaaaccccckkkkk!
What you're doing is positively impacting more people than you realize
it’s so refreshing to see you again.
YOURE BACK!
Missed you so much!! Glad to see you back
Thank you thank you thank you for posting this Ayesha! Your wisdom and research is so appreciated. I feel like I have tried everything and my scalp has still not recovered. Bless you sweet girl. This is not the end this is the beginning of a beautiful journey you're on and I'm happy that you have found the courage to share it with us.
I love your no bs approach in this video thank you for your transparency ♥️
Finally you’re baaack!! So glad
Glad to see your hair is recovering and that you're feeling better. I was wondering how you were doing. Definitely going to check out that documentary.
So happy for you. I wanted to cry for you when I saw the after the deva curl damage but I'm so happy the curls are shining and back to life
Your hair looks stunning, so happy to see you thriving. I've checked over the last year or so to see where you were and then saw you on the trailer for not so pretty so dropped by to see if you are active. Happy to see your healing xx
its so nice to see you back!!
I’m so glad to see you didn’t have to do a crazy chop! You are very much an inspiration and I’m glad you are feeling better!
You are amazing and we will be waiting for you whenever your ready to come back!!🥰💝
This just made my day 😭 you are the reason why I post!!!!!!
I only edited it like 20 times cause I had typos😁 Thank you Ayesha:)
Way to stand up for your hair! I am sure your hair appreciates the love and care you are giving it. Keep up the good work. You give me hope.
WELCOME BACK!!! WE HAVE WAITED SO LONG!!!
