  • KETO is working for millions of people, but some seem to stall on weight-loss after a few months of a vegetable-heavy keto diet. A Ketovore diet is a great option, full of delicious, nutrient-dense fatty-meat. This video gives you a head start on moving to a ketovore diet.
The carnivore diet works great for 100,000's of people, but many miss the flavor/taste provided by some plants. Ketovore is a great option to add flavor back into your diet while keeping the carbohydrate count very, very low.

The more keto I do the more I crave meat and never did before . Got rid of the carbs and I love steak , butter , sausage all grass fed pasture raised organic praise God ! Certain vegetables always upset my stomach and even grass fed milk but I’m fine with good cheese ..... weight is falling off after 20 years of hormone imbalance misery and didn’t know how to find my way out ! You provided the light I needed to see the way out of all that misery . My precious mom died six years ago from the results of diabetes and poor medical care and she was always looking for answers always willing to try anything breaks my heart that I didn’t have this information then it just didn’t come in my scope I know she’s so proud of me now and I’ve helped my dad through this to reverse 20 years of diabetes and in two weeks I had him off all insulin completely and he took four shots a day and he turned 77 in May you’ve saved my whole families life and I am forever grateful

That's great ! How about an update 5 months later ? It is almost funny to call it a "diet" because it should just be the normal eating habits of humans, while "diet" has come to mean something short-term to lose weight or reach a goal and then return to a "regular" diet. It is crazy to think that zookeepers and pet owners feed their animals a healthier diet than 95% of people today feed themselves.

I stalled on Keto for years. Couldn't get below 250 pounds. I was recently fascinated by the research coming out showing that Linoleic acid is one of the main driving factors of keeping us insulin resistant. Despite me maintaining my weight, my bloodwork showed that I was still very metabolically unhealthy. I decided to go carnivore, cut out linloeic acid completely (only beef) and consume more stearic acid. (beef suet, cacao butter) and within 2 weeks I busted through the plateau I'd been stuck on for years and am down to 243. This information may have saved my life I think.

@@izuki1245 On carnivore diet, I couldn't lose weight until I stopped eating cheese and stopped drinking heavy whipping cream. Immediately after I stopped all dairy, I lost 12 pounds in one week. I don't think this has anything to do with the fat content of dairy. I believe that the dairy is extremely inflammatory for some people (People like me, who have moderate lactose intolerance). The bulging flesh we call "fat" may actually be caused by inflammation and water retention at the cellular level.

Put a bit (only took a tablespoon as I didn’t want to stray too far) in my mouth and pushed the rest to the side uneaten. Didn’t do a thing for me by that time (8 months in). NO stuffing, no cranberry sauce, no potatoes, no desserts whatsoever. The greatest part is I didn't even want it. I did not desire it or craved it. Not even my biggest downfall, ice cream. You can't make this stuff up. It really works. After about 18 months or so I feel younger, have more energy, my blood pressure is down with BP medication doses cut in half. My arthritis is almost completely gone, and best of all less severe gout attacks which come much less often.

I’m finding that the more processed meat products such as sausage and seiners are an outrageous price. I can get a pound of bacon for less. Our grocery stores are getting in whole pork loin, whole brisket-ie:25 lbs or more, large pieces of pork belly and the price per pound is lower but difficult for some to afford in a large piece or store it in small fridge freezer. The stores don’t have much for organ meats and I can’t find any suet for the past few years. Have to start going to a butcher, which can be hard for people as well. Prices higher and located far from our grocers

Hi Dr. Berry! Watching this in 2022 and was wondering . . . Have you and your family started prepping for hard times ahead? And would you consider doing a video on how that looks with a Ketovore/Carnivore houshold pantry?? I haven‘t seen any of these preppers really specializing on Low Carb canned or jarred or dry goods. Mostly they have exactly 90% highly processed carby and sugery foods: cereals, protein bars, brownie-mix, rice, pasta, flour, sugar, fruitsalad in heavy syrup, etc. We personally DO NOT have access to any „Keto-Snacks“ sadly, not even porkrinds. We live in Europe, but have adapted well to a whole fresh foods approach to Keto and switch back and forth to Ketovore (with less veggies; more meat, eggs, fish)
That would be awesome, if you could just show us how your family is stocking up. Cheers from Switzerland
    (btw we‘re not fans of the w e f /w h o)
No way 😉 Power of the People is much more powerful than the current people in power. Stay strong and healthy!

      1) Growing your own vegetables
      2) Having your own free ranging chickens if possible so you have supply of eggs and meat.
You could even get a couple of goats and sheep, a cow, a couple of pigs - if you have the space for them.
This will supply with meat, milk, cheese, bones for soups, and if you want to go all the way, they'll provide hides for warmth.
If you don't have the possibility for your own vegetablegarden and keeping animals, you can buy vegetables and ferment them with salt, which is both healthy and great within keto lifestyle.
More or less all vegetables can be fermented.
You can also buy quality cuts of meat and all meats can be dehydrated, canned, frozen, (if you wrap them up properly they keep a lot longer in the freezer), and/or salted.
Stock up on things like coffee, tea, oliveoil, coconutoil, salt, pepper, and stuff that has a long shelflife, like dried beans, onions, peppers etc.
From there you can use your imagination.

I was thinking about the same thing. Everything since I have discovered carnivore a few months ago I have a mew perspective about how I plan to prep. Especially since I do not have access to my own garden.
It really did concern me that a lot of preppers have a bunch of highly processed foods and juices. The last thing I want to is be living in hard times and also suffering from high blood pressure, cavities, and diabetes.
I have decided I am going to put little more priority on canned meats like salmon and chicken they are pretty prices. Also I have learned about beef tallow and bacon fat. Never used to save them before. Now I love saving the bacon fat. You can even freeze it. If ypur power goes out still has long shelf life. You can reduce and stretch your meals and add a little fat to keep you satiated. Even feed some to your pets.

Dr Berry, I would like to see you talk more about the several good apps available to track your intake of foods and their nutritional values. Personally, I use Carb Manager. There's a free version that works great. I have no affiliation with the app whatsoever. While I'm making my meals, I'm already adding the foods to the app either by selecting my favorite foods from my list, searching the database, or simply by scanning the package barcode. I set the app to LCHF and to maintain my current weight. Thus, it says that I should be consuming 51g of carbs, 1710 calories, etc. It's a yardstick that I monitor when deciding what foods to have in a day. If I'm approaching my limit of carbs (or calories) for the day, I can better decide what kind of meal to eat. Of course, I go over at times, but I can then go back to the app and see what foods caused the most carbs/calories that day. In addition to the doctors and research people I regularly listen to on You Tube, this is another tool to keep me grounded in staying as healthy as I can. I've always been rather skinny/lean for most of my adult life. I served on a submarine in the Navy and could get into places you wouldn't believe a human could fit! However, at 66 I was at 175, 36" waist and climbing and my labs were starting to concern me. For the last two years , I've cut out sugar, lowered my carbs as much as possible and raised my intake of healthy fats. Now, at 68 (5'9") I'm holding at 150, almost no belly fat (34" waist) and my labs have literally normalized for a guy my age. Thanks to you and others, I'll stay that way and be healthier for it!

To begin losing again, I had to cut my diet soda addiction, again, eliminate cheese, temporarily and quedt bars- watch all carbs. Got a part time job that forces me to move/walk 5 hours 5 days a week. No eating program is easy since I'm a sugar addict. I'm still a type 2 diabetic, really more insulin resistant than a full blown diabetic since my a1c is 5 3. I earned this disease. 30 years eating high carb, high sugar. I have 7 pds to go for my final goal weight. In a few weeks, I'll get really strict again and lean more carnivore to move the scale. I thought for sure going carnivore or ketovore would totally work for me, but it didn’t. I tried it a few months ago. Last year I got off track with keto after EASILY losing 20 lbs. (yes, I gained it back). I’m starting fresh and going back to the keto that worked so well for me. I got off track when visiting an out of state relative for a week.

Thank you, doctor, for your amazing advice. I just want to say that I did everything you said, and it just worked for a while, but even with zero carbs, only red meats, I've got stalled. The only thing that worked for me, at least for now, is jogging on zone 2 of heart rate training. I like it because it's low impact, easy and healthy. I also do some short sessions of yoga and some weights... just a little bit to challenge my muscles.
I hope this helps, too. Thanks again, and keep us informed and healthy

I tried this. I had darken off the keto diet. The ketovoire diet activated all kinds of stomach issues & then my IBS-D kicked in . For about 10 weeks I've been taking otc IBS healing medication. So I had to abort this till the health improved. I am stating again eating high protein diet. But everyone needs to do what is best for them. I can't have coffee, caffiene. Dairy. Gluten .

One documentary that impressed me quite a bit was The Perfect Human Diet. It reported the way humans ate from the time when Neanderthals ate and before that to the present based on the latest anthropology findings, and by the way there are no findings of vegans or much vegetarians if at all. But I am even more impressed about the Carnivore diet and am trying it for at least the next 30 days. My grandmother used to talk about me eating a whole pound of bacon one time just to see if I would eat it. I did and loved every bit of it. I could do without grains but my weakness is sweets. But I'm taking the plunge into Carnivore and see if I can enjoy being on the Carnivore diet. I'm reading more and more about it everyday and intrigued that some vegans have switched to the Carnivore diet. My brother is vegan or was for many years. Not sure if he still is or not.

Watch your wifes video. Struggle with the Carnivore Diet. Struggle with the digestion of this massive amount of fat. But i think for the beginning ketovore is mine. Later i give carnivore a new try. Do 22:2/21:3 and ones a months a 48 hour fast.
Well it’s a little bit harder lifting heavy weights, but i want to go down with my bodyfat. Lifting heavy is important for LGN.
Iam so sick of my cravings and my binge eatings. I react very sensitive to Sugar. Iam sure my cholesterol Level is too high and i have insulinresistence. But Iam working in it. Have Lost 7kg maybe without a calorie Restriction. I give up calorie counting. Now 65 kg. Goal is 55 (or 53) with a good amount of muscle.

I will say this, don't cheat on the keto sweets. In my experience, the keto sweets just make you crave sugar. It will be rough cutting sugar (including stevia and things like that) completely out for the first couple weeks, but then your sugar craving goes away. I have tried cheat days, and it works for a while until you start making excuses to extend the cheat days, your body will reattach to the sugar and carb addiction, and on a weak moment when your having a bad day, you're more likely to give in. Just be miserable for the first couple weeks and then you will reduce the cravings and eat healthy with almost no temptation to cheat. You start looking forward to that bottle of water instead missing the soda. You start to enjoy your meat omelette instead of wishing you had pancakes with syrup. Next thing you know, you are a consistent healthy eater without even having to try hard.

It still slays me how people with huge weight and health problems and who are younger than me, can still try to tell me I'm on some crazy fad diet, that wholewheat bread is the healthiest thing you can eat, or that I shouldn't eat fat. I'm 168cm tall, weigh 49.5 kilos at age 63 and I have zero health problems. I've been on a ketogenic diet for nearly 4 years, now and for me, the results of that speak for themselves. I guess some people are just stubborn and set in their ways.

it would be nice to receive a response from you. I previously asked what foods are on this diet. Currently eating cabbage for kidney health, already eat bacon & eggs, grape tomatoes, cucumber & tomato salad -Italian dressing with EVOO. Fish-salmon, tuna, sardines, asparagus, almonds, butter, peanuts-dry roast-no salt added, use kosher & pink Himalayan salt in grinders, black pepper, added a few other spices that I like. What portion sizes should I be eating especially since I have uric acid in the blood? Since eating more fish, limiting most vegies, and berries, my blood sugar is under 110, have even limited taking Glimepiride and Januvia based on sugar levels when I check them 3-5 times a day. Thank you

I started carnivore on 07/1/2020. I lost 12 pounds in 2 months. I was stalled for a month. I took a diet break for a week. I raised my carbs intake by eating too much nuts and cheese. Which I honestly regret. Now I experience abdominal pain and not feeling comfortable at all. Now I’m back on deficit.

I feel it’s all a mental game. When I want a treat now it’s usually a few Brussels sprouts. I’ve had a few pecans and limited cream cheese. I’ve stayed almost completely zero carb and almost exclusively carnivore but it’s human nature to want a treat. I’ve just switched in my mind what a treat is and it works for me and helps me sustain this WOE.

Thank you Ken. This video comes at a perfect time for me. I've been on Keto for almost 3 months and aside from substantially lowering my BP along with decent weight loss, I have run into that infamous stall-out in terms of weight loss. Starting today, I am converting to a carnivore diet for 30 days. If it seems to be working, I'll go 60 then 90 and go from there. Thanks for all you do!!!

I'd be on day 36 of avo-vore. Hit a wall about a week ago...couldn't get out of bed, so fatigued. I added back mushrooms, then canned pumpkin, zucchini, yogurt and other dairy. I'm eating beef liver daily for copper and eggs, too (zinc). All along, I planned to use carnivore as an elimination diet....just don't want my chronic back pain to return. I also eat a few berries from time to time. I'm hooked on bacon fat and butter.
