- In this episode we're busy as ever with more trips to our backwoods cabin and putting a lot more fun in our lives. We're also doing the prep work for installing our solar panels and just beginning to harvest our meat for the winter. Venison is the table fare here at our homestead and it's time to fill the freezer.

Sorry JC, but every time I see the NY cabin I think of Frankie. It almost makes me cry. I just put down my canine companion (Huey) and it breaks my heart. Believe it or not I had fond memories of that cabin too. Dutch oven cooking cornbread, digging sand for the driveway, hunting for Sasquatch, and nailing up the milled siding. Thank you for the memories JC

He was not only an ardent admirer of your channel but your art - and he left three of the drawings he'd purchased to me in his Will. We actually never met in person - we only ever communicated online but his wit, charm and sense of humour brightened my days. If you'd met, you'd have liked him, I'm sure - you both have that same dedication to common sense, work, home and family.

The way you are so turned onto the frequencies of Nature, (birds eating from your hands like St. Francis of Assisi), I have no doubt the young buck's Spirit volunteered itself to you. You emanate the enthusiasm and innocence of a young child and Spirit knew your desire before you even got to your cabin. The laws of Nature reflects back your generosity and appreciation for Life and Abundance. I love you both for the Inspiration you provide.

We are in Mo. There is a group of knuckleheads around here that shoots game just so it will die. When SHTF happens they are going to wish they had some of that meat to eat! I am like preppernurse 1, I don’t think it is a case of if it happens it is when it happens. I was born at home, on a farm didn’t have much but both parents voted. I think a lot of todays plans were on paper or just beginning. To create a new and better tomorrow. If we could just do this or that-So sad . So now we try to get away for a few days for some peace and quiet, enjoy Nature remember back when, Pray for our kids and g randkids.,
Remember and look forward to quiet time with our spouse. Enjoy the last few days of Fall . Congratulations on your deer, enjoy!

I subscribe to almost 400 channels. Mostly RVing and off grid cabins. None of them make me feel so peaceful as your vids do. ESPECIALLY at the New York cabin. Having been a subscriber for years, that cabin is like going home. You guys take the stress out of my days. 👍🍷🍷

JC it's good to see ya'll again......as a matter of fact I enjoy seeing you all so much that I am in the process of watching this video back to back a second time LOL. As I've said before ya'll feel like family! You both look great and you look like you are really enjoying yourselves. You look well-rested and it's obvious that you have recovered from your injuries and surgeries. It takes a little longer but sometimes the best medicine is just to get plenty of rest and enjoy living. As I'm watching you Butcher and cut the meat I can't help but notice how tender that meat looks and it's understandable why you like to partially freeze it. Yes we are very much enjoying the direction we have taken here. I'm at the cabin again as I type. Here for as long as I feel like being here. Mama may have to come and get me haha. Whenever I cut up a deer before rigor mortis sets in, it's always tender. Good stuff. Non GMO haha. All the best.

Spot on my friend. My prayers rarely consist of me asking for things. My prayers consist of giving gratitude for the things I want but as if my wishes have already been fulfilled. Putting the gratitude first just lines things up. God listens when you speak his language. Many blessings to you.

Your idea of retirement is much like mine, though I don't live as serenely as you. I still work some, (at a job), and keep busy. But I pretty much do what I want, when I want, at my pace, and on my schedule.
That was the chuckle at the end. "Didn't get much work done, but I did X and Y. 2 outta 3 ain't bad." Life can't get much better. Thanks J.C.

But obviously since they've gone to a more private life I replied first that I was excited to see the video. I can't tell you how many times I have sung along with Frankie and the boss. I am so thrilled that they had tildy ages ago, and Frankie was her best friend. I am so glad she has grown up so beautifully. Blessings from Central Florida.

My wife is fighting colon cancer and is bedfast now. So I lay on the bed with her and watch your videos. Always bring a smile to watch and listen to your dreams and intentions for more adventures. Keep it up and hold on tight to the beautiful lady beside you. You never know when life could drastically change and throw you for a loop. But I remember back a few years ago you were thrown for a loop also. With a doctors report of your own. God bless you two. Hold on to one another. Cause for us 41 years together is just a drop of what we would love to spend together. We're highschool sweethearts and shes my angel. So I'm holding my angel and praying for a touch of the fathers hand. So that I could be blessed with as many years as possible with her. Keep living, keep loving, keep laughing. We put up a lot of meat every year. 6 hogs 120 Broilers, 4 sheep and one steer. So I pays to know the ways.

Completely enjoyable my friend, I can feel the warmth of the fire and smell the meatloaf and potatoes. Yes, and I'm relaxed while watching you do the work and fixing the meal, but you get the reward of eating a great supper while I'm drooling and wishing I was there. That was nice to see how you had a goal/plans(which we all know how plans can go sometimes😏) and a bow. Then you had a nice buck! Dragging a deer is no easy feat. I remember dragging my 1st, 2nd & 3rd deer. Each time my heart felt like it was moments away from jumping out of my chest. God forbid if there's a stone/rock wall. Lord have Mercy!!!

I just came home from the cabin. I was there a week and during that time, I was wakened by the sound of tap tap tap on the floor like when a dog is scratching and also the little yips they make when they're dreaming. I was there alone so it wasn't Tildy. I think the ol boy is still at the cabin. He loved that place :c)~

Drooling here over that Dutch Oven! Reminds me of my Arizona days when the ex and I would go camping/hunting. We would dig a hole, throw some burning coals in the bottom, put the oven in there, throw coals on top and then bury it. Later it was a meal to die for. Only problem was leaving the woods to go home. The ex said I tended to turn into a witch with a b, because I didn't want to leave. Yeah, there was that. One time I actually told him to just leave me and the trailer there and come back next weekend. I had enough food and ammo for a week for sure. LOL
I can understand that. I just got back from the cabin last night and I'm ready to go back haha

My uncle would add ground beef tallow to his venison burger when he ground it. Made it really juicy when we had burgers on the grill. I really miss him and the jerky when he got a deer and or elk. Few times even had wild turkey even tho it's not my favorite but he would smoke them and made them worth eating. thanks for joggin my memories they were good ones. ♥
