Sir, after a PhD and postdoc in Physics from Bangalore, currently I am doing my 2nd postdoc at Montpellier, France.
My field is experimental soft matter physics, with experience of more than 10 years.
At this career stage I am looking for a more independent postdoc position, where I gain experience with applying for grants, and then progress towards something like a junior group leader...
Would you suggest Europe or USA?

@@VimalaSridurai I think Europe is a nice place to do a postdoc. But if you want to have more growth you may need to move to an English language country like USA, Canada or UK. Or Australia and New Zealand. In these countries grants are key and the system is open to all types of immigrants. These videos may help

I'm currently a postdoc in Korea, but I'm applying for a second PhD in the US because I couldn't find a new postdoc after trying so hard.

Europe is the pinnacle of the world. In my opinion, the green card in the US is the hardest to get. All places require you to work hard, buck down, be grateful and become part of the culture. You should not bring your home-country's politics, cultural peculiarities or domestic issues with you to your new home. Be a good human first. Then you will be accepted. Otherwise not. Good luck students and post docs!

Hopefully EU brings some policy for PR for PhD students. Maybe Germany might be good since they have an aging population. Is it possible to get a postdoc in the USA after a PhD in EU?
Yes you can easily move globally after PhD if you have a few journal papers in your CV. Germany is good for research. In fact they created the PhD and the postdoc
