That's the first time I heard you say you were sea sick. Curry is always delicious. I saw guys on a Japanese navy vessel cooking curry for the crew on board it was the best-looking curry ever. I could just imagine how magnificent it tasted. I thought about you right away.
I'm glad you remembered to bring the seasickness pills this time, man; they must have knocked you out! For you to be in bed still at 11:00 a.m., you were tired!! Yes, the meals looked a bit sad this time; they just matched the weather you had. The gyoza crisis was funny, but I don't think you could have tolerated all 22 without any concerns. Maybe 15, but not 22 plates of nine. So happy touring, and take us along with you.
Whenever I see Italian food on a Japanese YT video, it is always adapted for the Japanese palate, which is exactly what we in the West do with food from around the world. Most Indian food in the West, is nothing like authentic Indian food. I love your videos so thanks for all your travels.
During your late night diner after checking in....music from Ennio Morricone, Once upon a Time in America, beautiful movie and even more beautiful music❤
Great trip. The fastest ship between Tokyo and Shinmoji, because it didn't need to stop in Tokushima. The dinner won't be completed without curry. This ship definitely workhorse, only rest about 3-4 hours after sailing around 21 hours. Can't imagine if this ship needs maintenance.
I love when you show us the menus. I was looking with you and saw the miso mackerel and thought that is what I would order and you ordered it so it was nice to see the presentation. It looked delicious!
One of the reasons why I love holidaying in Japan is exactly because English is not widely spoken; this fact forces me to slow down, find ways to communicate and learn
I think skillet pizza is a better name for that dish and it didn’t look too great. But it is definitely, in no way shape or form, Chicago style nor was it when they called it that in your previous video. I love your content, thanks so much for sharing! 😊🎉
I am SO excited to see this! I would have loved to traveled at least one leg of our journey on a ferry. My husband spoke Japanese and he was on business there for tree weeks. We took an extra week, just to see more, it was not long enough!! Love Japan. But, I didn’t like Japanese food, at all. So it was a hard. As beautiful as these presentations , if it wasn’t Tempura……..nope. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I admired your attempt at not having the curry right away and 22 orders of gyoza would have settled your stomach the next day😊 The skillet pizza looks like what I would consider a taco shell for taco salad. How do you not get seasick in the small room with no windows? Thanks for taking us on another great!
Dear Curry San. Knew your favorite was going to get eaten as soon as you said you wouldn't. I love that about you! They must have been compeled by logic to drop the Chicago Pizza name, for that is NOT in any way a Chicago pizza. 22 Gyozas might have been a little much for you, though... even you! ✌🤟
Thanks for another upload! This is one "chill out come back to earth" long boat ride! I am interested for sure, but another part of me feel I don't have the patience, unless I am the captain of the ship!
Great minds think alike! I also had a shirasu pizza on my trip to Tokyo a few weeks ago. Mine was shirasu garlic, ¥500 at Happy hour, and the crust was very thin like yours. You could cut my pizza, but you could snap it.
I thought I heard a cat meow at about 9 minutes in. I thought 'how odd, he's on a ship and there's a cat there. Must be a kid and I heard it wrong'. What I heard wrong was where the meow was coming from. Turns out my cat wanted to go into my room and meowed at the perfect volume that it blended in with the sounds from the video.
I have a question. Are the ferries usually deserted? I'm a long-time fan and I've noticed that you seem to be alone on every ship. I'm just wondering if they run when they have very few passengers; probably because cargo is also being run by the ship, isn't it?
Where I am from skillet pizza would called a fish tostada. The crispy part would be a bowl made of fried tortilla. The contents would usually be some type of salad. You would break off pieces of the bowl and use to dip out bites of the salad.
Your subtitles game is ON POINT! i was laughing LOUD during the beef curry session haha.. "it's small so it doesnt count" and then "OOPS... NEED MORE RICE" hahahahahahahaha its an absolute bliss to read, i love your videos even more because of this
One note from sailors of yore a hammock rocks with the seas, so you stay mostly level hanging from the ropes. If it gets rough it's tough, but generally that's not it was. I used to sling up a hammock on Dad's fishing boat now and then. And that was something more like a taco salad than anything resembling a pizza.
That's not a pizza. That's a tostada. It's ususally a fried or toasted flour tortilla. Looked like they just put that one on the skillet until it was really hard. 😂
that skillet thing was terrible for the money the gyoza and the rest of the food and beer are priced nice and look great...so is this price including a car also or is that just a person price? I never see a car experience great video always and the skillet steak and mackeral looked great but expensive
Do routes within the islands tend to be smoother than the ones out to sea? Do you always bring seasick pills just in case? Cabin too small for me, unless you dont intend to be in there much. 20 hours is a bit of a block of time. Eating on rough seas. So brave. Thanks for sharing your trip!
8:50 or so - It looked like one of the beer options was to use a vending machine. I can't remember if you've shown one of those in a previous video or not though. It also displayed Kirin which I wouldn't have chosen over Sapporo if I'm being honest. Thank you for showing the seasickness medicine. I may need some in future (: Is it usually carried by the ship's store or vending machines, or is it better to try getting some before departure? 198 gyoza should be ok (:
I think you should have stayed with the 22 orders to see how many you could eat. Just them. Nothing else. That so called pizza didn’t look like any pizza I’ve ever eaten, as long as it was good. Love watching your videos. Thanks !!
18:32 To be fair, there are times I feel like I could eat 22 orders of gyoza! That whitefish pizza looks like the shell they serve taco salads in. More like a baked tortilla than proper pizza dough.
I have a question. Does the sea ever get pretty rough for kyushu to Osaka route? That one goes between the islands correct? I’m hoping not as bad. Last time I tried the sunflower ferry from hokkaido to tokyo, and it was pretty bad during the night.
There’s hungry. And then there’s “22-gyoza-orders” hungry.
That's a "stern talking to from the chef" level of hungry.
He's got that gyoza craving going in me!! 😂 Gosh those things are delish!!
That's what impatience gets you. He caught it tho😅
i mean, what's wrong with wanting 22 orders of delicious delicious gyoza?
That's the first time I heard you say you were sea sick. Curry is always delicious. I saw guys on a Japanese navy vessel cooking curry for the crew on board it was the best-looking curry ever. I could just imagine how magnificent it tasted. I thought about you right away.
Thanks for the recommend, Vinny!
Please don’t ever stop making these videos. Thank you!!
I wish I had the means to send you a real Chicago pizza because it's nothing like the ferry version. Love your adventures.
We all sing... Sunflower... sunflower... just because!
Hell yeah 😂 Sunflower... Sunflower.. 😂
😂
🌻😊🌻
I’m surprised he hasn’t received a sponsorship deal with MOL yet 😂😢
That is not a pizza, it is a tostada... Those gyoza looked amazing. So did the lemon steak.
I thought for a pizza, it looked pretty weird
I was going to say just that about the pizza.
I agree. That "pizza crust" looks more like the taco salad shells at Taco Bell than an actual pizza crust.
Agreed,that's a tostada,not a pizza. But,everything else looks good. Safe travels,STJ!
I'm glad you remembered to bring the seasickness pills this time, man; they must have knocked you out! For you to be in bed still at 11:00 a.m., you were tired!! Thanks for your continued awesome videos.
I knew BEFORE you started eating the curry that you would need more rice.
Hahah yep the ying didn't quite match the yang .
I love these videos, I have severe sea sickness and hate boats. But these let me enjoy the experience 😊
lmao, your addiction to curry,i love it!
"But the sea is getting rough. There are a number of people who look seasick. Lunch time!" I admire your perseverance.
😂 22 items of the same order. Good thing you caught that fast😅
that reminded me of a scene where a character played by bruce lee had accidently ordered 10 soups or so at a restaurant in italy
During your late night diner after checking in....music from Ennio Morricone, Once upon a Time in America, beautiful movie and even more beautiful music❤
I thought that beef dish looked really good. Thanks for another awesome video STJ 😊
"It's small so it doesn't count..." 🤣
THATS WHAT SHE SAID!
I'm sorry I'll see myself out
@@TheAmazingDrCheat ha ! 🤣
And then he added another bowl of rice LOL I love this guy!
My friend sensationl this food looks so delicious boy I can't wait to travel to Japan in a couple of years be safe much love have fun for me ❤
Great trip. The fastest ship between Tokyo and Shinmoji, because it didn't need to stop in Tokushima. The dinner won't be completed without curry. This ship definitely workhorse, only rest about 3-4 hours after sailing around 21 hours. Can't imagine if this ship needs maintenance.

Yes, it's part of the adventure, and honestly much more fun. Besides, people generally are kind, especially in Japan.
What a fun trip and the food looks really yummy.

Very nice trip. Fun seeing the food. Much better fresh vs. Vending machine microwaved. Thanks STJ from Michigan!
The lemon steak looked very tender and flavorful!
Horses have their own mackerel now? 😂🐴🦈
Im glad you tried the lemon steak. It looked good 😉
Thank you. That was a wet trip. The food looked good though
Vinny sent me, loved watching those videos before
Come on, you could have eaten 22 gyoza! 😂
I like the Japanese blues music that they were playing on the last meal.
At your last dinner on the trip, you picked the same two dishes, that I wanted myself. 😊
That bedroom is horrifying 😮
food looks nice

Wonderful thank you! 🙂
That food looks promising!!!
DOMO 🙏 SOLO FOR SHARING THE JOURNEY 🛳️🛳️🛳️
Thanks for sharing love your videos thanks again ❤❤❤❤

Excellent Video! Have a Wonderful Day!
Amazing, loved it.
Great shot of the children's playing room 😆
The food in Japan is wonderful
Thanks for another upload! This is one "chill out come back to earth" long boat ride! I am interested for sure, but another part of me feel I don't have the patience, unless I am the captain of the ship!
A 20 hour vacation. You eat sleep drink beer bathe watch ocean. Great!
Arigato! I needed a ferry ride, in Japan, today.
Great minds think alike! I also had a shirasu pizza on my trip to Tokyo a few weeks ago. Mine was shirasu garlic, ¥500 at Happy hour, and the crust was very thin like yours. You could cut my pizza, but you could snap it.
Lol! The curry bit was so funny!
STJ, travel to Chicago to get real Chicago deep dish pizza!
Mahalo for your videos! I love that you dont have background music and too much voice over!
Great videos!!!
Must be good stabilisation on that camera, because the ship didn't seem to be rolling or pitching much at all.
Amazing ❤
Why you’re not sponsored by a beef curry brand is beyond me
That absolutely, was not, skillet pizza. That, was a crispy tortilla.
6:19 3rd item down left side, curry? 8:27 yes it is :) 11:22 Ladies and gentlemen, we have curry !
Interesting, funny and I am hungry as usual now
$80 worth of gyoza, that would be the order of the century
Amazing trip
Thank you for the trip. I am hungry.
I have a question. Are the ferries usually deserted? I'm a long-time fan and I've noticed that you seem to be alone on every ship. I'm just wondering if they run when they have very few passengers; probably because cargo is also being run by the ship, isn't it?
Oh yeah !!!!! Time to travel !!!!!!
Awesome video

15:22.
I miss that sound. Call me crazy but it brings back a lot of memories of my Ferry days.
17:05.
Oh, it is just a little swell.
That "skillet pizza" was a travesty.
I'm glad you do these videos because it's a good reminder not to go on one 😆 I could never stand the speaker announcements and the music they play.
Sick! I so want to do this and Visit Japan one day I need a tour guide lol
Beautiful
That's not a pizza. That's a tostada. It's ususally a fried or toasted flour tortilla. Looked like they just put that one on the skillet until it was really hard. 😂

If anyone could eat 22 servings of gyoza it would be you! I believe in you Solo-san!! 😂
My mouth is hanging open for that Beef Curry, yes please😋

That "pizza" looks more like what I would call a type of nachos. Was the curious paste wasabi?
Thanks for the video but a cabin with washroom please. Sad no English translations on the menu but thank you for interesting travelogue
At 20 minutes that weird pizza looks like hardtack.
It looked awful LOL No one has said it yet so I will! 😉
You are correct. I like the little white fish, but the skillet pizza is a crime against humanity. The rest of the food looked good.@chrisolsen5280
To think the best food avaliable on Ferry tavel in NZ is old meat pies with sour tomato sauce, watching this video fills me with hope 👀
" I will order a beer " , best decision you made .
Like your videos that cabin you stayed in looked like a prison cell tho ,the ship was very clean.
8:50 or so - It looked like one of the beer options was to use a vending machine. I can't remember if you've shown one of those in a previous video or not though. It also displayed Kirin which I wouldn't have chosen over Sapporo if I'm being honest.

198 gyoza should be ok (:
That's a closet with a bed on it. But it wasn't very expensive so still good.
I am not a foodlover at all but i really want to try real japanese beef curry since i started watching your video's 😂
I think you should have stayed with the 22 orders to see how many you could eat. Just them. Nothing else. That so called pizza didn’t look like any pizza I’ve ever eaten, as long as it was good.
Love watching your videos. Thanks !!
Genuinely laughed out loud at the 22 orders of gyoza. 😂
It’s not a Solo Travel Japan video until you see a !! food reaction.

Hello from Florida! is Japanese curry spicy? It looks delicious., i’d love to try it one day
I got stuck with an inside cabin on a Norwegian Cruise Line Liner. First & Last time for an inside cabin 😮
STJ, have you seen the anti motion sickness glasses? They have a blue fluid in the frame, I heard they were pretty effective
18:32 To be fair, there are times I feel like I could eat 22 orders of gyoza! That whitefish pizza looks like the shell they serve taco salads in. More like a baked tortilla than proper pizza dough.
I’m moving to Japan!
Hmm lemon should be gently squeezed !
I have a question. Does the sea ever get pretty rough for kyushu to Osaka route? That one goes between the islands correct? I’m hoping not as bad.
Last time I tried the sunflower ferry from hokkaido to tokyo, and it was pretty bad during the night.
