the server asking if its delicious/good and saying thank you to the complements after every new bite is so cute and sweet. usually table service this directly would stress me out but the check ins are just so nice it would've loosened me right up into just enjoying the meal
The pumpkin jelly with the rabbit shaped yam was so cute. What a cute way to reference the japanese myth of the rabbit that lives in the moon. So adorable.
Before the food even came out that had me excited by covering the bag, protecting it from any food or cooking residue! LOVE THAT! They not only care for the customer but they also care for their items! And the careful, gentle way the lady cooks, making sure they get equal portions, it’s a level of service I’m so impressed by!
Quite a Japanese experience 🇯🇵🎎 The pottery, the meat and food, the cooking, the amicable service, the music, the set up, the portions, the drinks, the soups, the bits and pieces, the presentation, and the amazing hotspot design. Of course, the cherry on the top is Shander's gestures of approval and personality 🤗🥰 Thank you for sharing 🙏
I am not sure who the lady is in the videos, but seeing her reactions to food making her so happy always makes me happy, plus the server asking her if the beef was good so excitedly was very sweet to see!
seeing mrs db be so so so happy everytime she tries something good just makes me so full of joy. im so grateful that she is unapologetically happy!! you're both so wonderful, thank you both
I love the perfection of the steps that the auntie follows. It's like poetry in motion. In the States, we are all about pushing food out quickly and have lost the art of beauty in the delicacy of food preparation. Perhaps we never had that fluid grace at all
*Little hint for you guys that hate chewing noises:* YT has implemented some sort of setting called 'stable volume'. I believe this boosts quieter noises, like the mouth and chewing sounds. If this is off-putting for you, click the gear icon, and turn the stable volume setting off. The difference is night and day.
Oba-san definitely knew her stuff and took good care of you two! And as usual, Mrs. Bacons was her customary cute and pretty self--her yum yum faces are one of my favorite things to watch about this channel. Someday, Japan, I shall return to thee!
Thank you, it was certainly interesting to see what goes for a Japanese luxury seasonal autumn feast (foraged mushrooms, gingko nuts etc.) and until I get to enjoy such a feast, the last dish, those soft eggs scrambled in sukiyaki sauce with mushrooms and boiled greens over rice seem approachable and doable at home.
I went there before. Its very yummy. They change menu according to the season. I went there during summer, I am not a big fan of sashimi but it tasted amazing. The big slice of beef is very soft and tender.
A lot of restaurants in the west are super loud, sometimes it’s nice when it’s lively but a lot of places blast music super loud and everyone tries to talk over until it’s super overwhelming - this seems so nice and relaxed in contrast!
Ooh, I love the shamisen playing in the background. I'll have to save this because when my Son takes me to Japan, I want to treat him to a nice meal. This was absolute perfection. 🫶🏼 Okay DB, spill the beans; do both of you speak Japanese? I'm thinking that you're both multilingual.
Man looks so good, Japanese just have a way with aesthetics that make things special. Also the little bit extra of hiding that induction range. Wouldn't have noticed until it was pointed out.
I love the concept of pouring a nice hot broth or soup from a teapot! And everything looks so delicious! Especially the meat platter! Look at that marbling!😋😋😋
Matsutake mushrooms are a very seasonal, very expensive delicacy. They haven't been successfully cultivated, so wild Masutake mushrooms have to be hand picked in usually remote forests and are hard to find, which accounts for their high prices. When they appear in a few local markets in my area, they can be $50-100 a pound. I've gone mushroom hunting a few times and rarely got more than a few Matsutake after walking around the mountains for hours.
I have an induction burner that I got at a yard sale $10. It's amazing how it can cook yet remain cool. It made me feel safer teaching my young grandchildren to cook. But having it mounted under the table like that is genius. I wonder if I could build a set up like that for doing hot pot with my hubby. Luckily we are both at the age where we can't do the spicy Sichuan so the tomato base or creamy base suits us just fine.
The sukiyaki looks very good and the lady preparing it seems very friendly. Personally, I prefer simplier sukiyaki, which is cheaper, with more meat, and where I can prepare the food myself. Its social and take to prepare it yourself, and take your time. I dont often eat meat, but when I do, and eat something like sukiyaki, normal quality which is all you can eat, is prefered.
Everything look amazing but u lost me at the wireless probably induction hotpot… 😅i would be trying hard to figure it out while i was eating… awesome video
Way out of my budget, but it looked fairly priced for what you get in the amount and quality of food, as well as the excellence of service. I _do_ question them calling the cooked egg dish an omelet, though. Looked like more of a scramble to me. Maybe something was lost in translation, I don't know.
This is why I like japan, sure sometimes they have unhealthy things, but then again they also make healthy and tasty food, and it’s enjoyable to watch them cook. Warms my heart.
they have unhealthy things daily...since they eat white polished short grain rice which is super gluttonous. it's like eating pasta each day and pure sugar. then they fry a lot of things and I don't mean tempura style but in general , all the sauces soy sauce is added to each dish is also full of sugar etc.
I think this is the first video I've watched where the price at the end made me go "yikes!" Then again, its not just the food, but the setting and the service that you were paying for.
The grandma cook has immaculate vibes, the gentleness in which she handles food, oh my gosh
yes, I adored her
Indeed Japanese hospitality at its finest
@ absolutely
such a vibe on god .

Ikr that was wholesome ❤
I'm the same but this feels like your grandma is cooking for you.
@@Woozlewuzzleable Honestly that makes it even better imo
@@celarts5752 Exactly.

ikr, it was perfect
This looks good, but not sure worth the $300

imagine paying for a bad service, they obviously shold have this normally as a good service

Classic!

It’s mrs. Bacon
That was his partner
She is mrs dancing bacon
That was Mrs. DancingBacons and we absolutely adore her reactions to food!
seeing mrs db be so so so happy everytime she tries something good just makes me so full of joy. im so grateful that she is unapologetically happy!! you're both so wonderful, thank you both
It feels disingenuous like mark weems reaction to foods.
I think they may both be mrs db
It is so sweet and hearing the hostess say "thank you" for the reactions too, like it was such a compliment to see her enjoying the food!
It's called gluttony.
@SicKno-i5r dude whats wrong with you
What a nice lovely grandma, she is very sweet to both of you ❤
The lady serving was lovely! I loved that I could hear the smile in her voice when she asked Mrs Bacons if the food was tasty 💜
I love the perfection of the steps that the auntie follows. It's like poetry in motion. In the States, we are all about pushing food out quickly and have lost the art of beauty in the delicacy of food preparation. Perhaps we never had that fluid grace at all
I like to see Ms Bacon every time. She seems to enjoy the good meals and always being like a sunshine in any place.
Thanks!
Thank you!

Ive been here several times, luckily they offer cheaper courses and you get the same amazing customer service!
Induction cooking BUILT INTO THE TABLE is next level service!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Love your videos so much. Idk why but they're a big comfort.

I would recommend doing it in a pan where you have just cooked meat, if you wish to replicate it. It adds a wonderful flavor
I went there before. Its very yummy. They change menu according to the season. I went there during summer, I am not a big fan of sashimi but it tasted amazing. The big slice of beef is very soft and tender.
Big reason i wanna go to japan is just to try the eggs, they always look so good.
The shamisen in the background is a nice touch. Something I wish American Japanese restaurants would do, but I guess most people wouldn’t like it.
A lot of restaurants in the west are super loud, sometimes it’s nice when it’s lively but a lot of places blast music super loud and everyone tries to talk over until it’s super overwhelming - this seems so nice and relaxed in contrast!
Tons of them do in the south. But they also have a huge community here too so. Lol😂
I love watching her reactions. So cute 😊
