When we tell you the 80s was full of hits…. Literally every week for the entire decade was a new bomb tune. Rock, new wave, disco, pop, hair bands, alternative, college. We were so spoiled. It’s never been the same since.
Corey was the reason most people in the 80s wore sunglasses indoors and at night. You could watch people. Cool if you liked someone and didn't want them to know it. This was a huge hit.

Rick Springfield is another iconic 80’s (new wave) artist. He was loved by the ladies and acted in the soap opera (General Hospital) as well as his singing career. I chaperoned my little sister and some of her young friends to his concert when they were in middle school and I was in High School back in 1984. It was actually a pretty good concert despite the crowd being over 90% prepubescent, screaming girls. lol
This song peaked at #7 in US, not #1. It only charted in 6 countries, with no other top 15 ranking worldwide. Didn't make it on UK's Singles chart. Even in Canada, where Corey Hart is from, it only peaked at #24. Not as big a hit as you claim. I love this song, but I'm not a fan of misinformation.
@Matthew Snider This is wierd. out of the blue, my wife watched Road House yesterday - she has problems watching Swayze movies now, she was such a huge fan. She couldn't watch his movies for years.
ADAM ANT "GOODY TWO SHOES" and THOMAS DOLBY "She Blinded Me With Science", which is used in the film WEIRD SCIENCE and Terence Trent D'Arby "Wishing Well". I feel you two will like all three songs.
Corey Hart is a Canadian icon. His Ray Ban sunglasses 😎 from this video are in Canada’s National Music Centre in Calgary. I was at an outdoor concert that he performed at a few years ago and the entire crowd sang this at the top of their lungs. Corey honestly seemed like he was surprised that everyone remembered all the words to his song. It was so much fun. Love your channel. 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
Debatable between Sunglasses At Night & Never Surrender based on worldwide chart rankings. Never Surrender charted much higher in Canada at #1 vs #24. In USA, Never Surrender was a #3 hit vs #7 for Sunglasses At Night. In other countries, it looks like Sunglasses At Night charted slightly better overall.
Honestly, Canada had some insanely good artists back in the 80s and 90s that weren't all that well-known in the US. Glad to see you have obviously some Canadians recommending your videos! :)
Let’s add to the list Triumph - Somebody’s out there, Trooper - Raise a little hell, Gino Vanelli -Black Cars, Spoons -Nova Heart, Glass Tiger - Don’t Forget Me and Platinum Blonde -Crying Over You. We can also add Honeymoon Suite - Feel it again and Haywire- Dance Desire
It's simple. Kids from the 80s, who later got married and then had a family and now who's kid's are listening to/or grew up on their parents records is why the 80s music can never die!. The 80s music was the best

Being a teenager in the 80s was awesome because you had all these different vibes and styles of music. I miss that today with all the cookie-cutter bands of today,
Corey Hart is actually a very famous Canadian singer. He is famous around the world and very well-loved. If I remember correctly he speaks seven languages. She has many hit songs from his boy in the Box album. Then he has another song that he did later on called 92 days of rain which is very powerful. There's a video that has a little bit of a commentary before 92 days of rain talks about his music
It's one of my go-to songs when I'm feeling a little down. If J and Amber react to it, I wonder if either will be able to recognize RuPaul in the video.

Corey Hart opened up for Rick Springfield’s Tao of Love Tour when I was 15 or 16. My first concert. This song was a big hit that year. 1985 I think. This was Corey’s biggest hit.

Cory Hart is a musician from Montreal, Canada who was fairly big when this song came out in the 80's. I remember Bryan Adams was also surfacing at this time and there was a bit of a competition between the 2 singers. Bryan came out with hit after hit for years after and became internationally known. In all honesty this is the only Corey Hart song I've heard and haven't a clue if he's still making music. Have to admit I did like this song at the time.
Corey married french canadian singer Julie Masse which began his family life. They chose family over career and stepped back from the spotlights. They both show up from time to time in shows like The Voice(Quebec version). Julie Masse has a few hits of her own as well *C'est zéro* first comes to mind.
Corey has been one of my favourite artists since I was a pre-teen. He’s Canadian, check out Never Surrender, an 80s youth anthem in Canada. Also noteworthy are his songs It Ain’t Enough and In Your Soul. I saw him in concert a few years ago and he sounds better now than he did back then. Corey put his music career on hold when he had children because he grew up without a dad and didn’t want the same for his children. As if I needed another reason to love my teenage crush 💜

One Night In Bangkok- Murray Head-- another 80s similar dance toe tapping’ banger from the 80s that I’m pretty sure both of you would like. Sunglasses at Night was a great song and so glad you two enjoyed it!!
please ..in memory to Jeff Labar, guitarist to Cinderella, who passed away a little bit ago ...please react to Cinderella: Don't Know What You Got (Till Its Gone)....i think its a fitting song considering he's now gone. please and thank you
Corey had 2 other hits “Never Surrender “ “It Ain’t Enough” As per the same vibe check out ; Bryan Adams: “Cuts like a Knife”. , “Summer of ‘69”, & “It’s Only Love” Lover boy:”The kid is hot tonight “ & “Working for the Weekend “ Prism: “Armageddon” & “Space Ship Superstar” Chilliwack: “Fly at Night” All of these artists are Canadian.
I'll add Platinum Blonde, Honeymoon Suite, April Wine, oh, you have to listen to Arias and Symphonies from the Spoons (all canadian). As for Corey Hart, I really like Eurasian Eyes.
For Female Fridays check out another Canadian singer, Luba. I recommend her song "Innocent With An Explanation". She had an amazing voice, and the song has some awesome lyrics.
I cannot get enough of your reactions to this cool, vibey song. No one hit wonder at all was Mr Corey Hart. Long live hIs music and as I say over and over again, OH, CANADA!!!
He is definitely a hidden gem. My favorite is Never Surrender. I heard it the other day while pumping gas & was like OMG..... I REMEMBER THAT SONG. Instantly put it on my Apple Music. there are soooo many great artists/groups from the 80's!!!
One of my all time favourite songs! Danced away the nights on many dance floors to this groove - also around the house and in my car! Thanks for your amazing reaction! I'm so happy you enjoyed it so much! 🙌
I was raised in the 80s and also Canadain, Listen to more of his music you will love it. Esp Never Surrender. He still continues to sing also his daughters are singers too, his wife is French singer. He DEFINATELY NOT A ONE HIT WONDER. He's amazing in always. Im still a huge fan at the age of 51. So enjoying your reaction to this song. You have to listen to BTO, The Guess Who, Burton Cummungs, April Wine, Loverboy I could go and on with the great music that came and continues to come out of Canada. Also I would love to see your see your reaction on Chinatown Calculation by Doud and the Slugs or any song by them. Also the band Trooper song Raise a little Hell
Great suggestions. Love Doug and the Slugs. Also need some Kim Mitchell, Max Webster, Blue Rodeo and Honeymoon Suite. We Canadians, have some awesome music.
I have to agree with everyone else that "Never Surrender" is definitely one you have to hear from him. But don't make the mistake of missing some of his other songs, like "Eurasian Eyes," "Boy in the Box," "Everything in My Heart," and "Take My Heart." He sings a lot of ballads, but his faster songs are fire, too! You won't be disappointed, I promise.
For next female Friday should do one or both of these 80's female fronted groups Missing Persons, song Destination Unknown or Til Tuesday, song Voices Carry.
Y'all have quickly become my favorites! I absolutely love that you have this kind of reaction and appreciation for 80s music! May I suggest Rick Springfield...Jessie's Girl
Brings me back. I shared a room with my older sister, who loved Corey Hart. She caught a towel at one of his concerts and kept it folded up on a speaker in our room. With a pair of sunglasses on it.
This song took Can-Am by storm! The opening - hip and mysterious breaking into the delivery - a raucous out break driven by pain. Love your reactions.🥰 Kill Comradkiv and Eurasian Eyes and Boy in the Box are great songs as well.
When we tell you the 80s was full of hits…. Literally every week for the entire decade was a new bomb tune. Rock, new wave, disco, pop, hair bands, alternative, college. We were so spoiled. It’s never been the same since.
Yes, so many great 80's songs. We assumed it was a normal thing. Now we realize how these were GEMS!!!
They were NOT called hair bands in the 80's.
Us 70s BRATS can say the same for the 70s ,, 8 of the TOP 25 biggest selling ALBUMS in the USA are from the 70s ,, A True Fact
First half of the 90's was pretty good too.
Truth, every style, and everyone REAAAALLLY good at what they did.
Corey Hart: "Never Surrender" and Flock of Seagulls: "I Ran"
black cars look better in the shade
I bet they don't get what I RAN is about until they look it up.
He’s Canadian. He had another hit “Never Surrender”.
Yes please react to this one!!!!
My favorite of his ❣
And was offered the lead in Back To The Future before Michael J Fox.
One of his other hits a decade later was Jade. A great album.
I smoke weed in my UA-cam videos for scientific research 💀
Corey was the reason most people in the 80s wore sunglasses indoors and at night. You could watch people. Cool if you liked someone and didn't want them to know it. This was a huge hit.
Corey and weed! People wore the shades to hide the telling blood-shot eyes! 😅

So many surprises from 1980"s music. Best decade of music of all time!
The early half anyway. The latter half wasn't as inventive -- too many hair bands.
Really 1975 to 1985 was the best decade of music. @@landreaulover
This song went to #1 in the US which was rare for a Canadian. Just shows how big of a hit it was way back when.

ADAM ANT "GOODY TWO SHOES" and THOMAS DOLBY "She Blinded Me With Science", which is used in the film WEIRD SCIENCE and Terence Trent D'Arby "Wishing Well". I feel you two will like all three songs.

Hellzya to Thomas Dolby!
Now those three songs bring back memories.
I was totally obsessed with Adam Ant.
I second Adam Ant Goody Two Shoes. Nothing says “80s” like that video.
A song from this era that's somewhat iconic is "Cars," by Gary Numan. Also "She Blinded Me With Science," by Thomas Dolby. That's a fun one. :)

*SCIENCE!!!!!!*
For some reason I was thinking The Cars. “Drive” is such a good song-obviously way more downtempo, but so good.
We could just make them work through the Vice City soundtrack?

Sunglasses at Night was a great song and so glad you two enjoyed it!!
THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST REACTION CHANNEL!!! Y’ALL FREAKING ROCK!!! KEEP UP THE INCREDIBLE WORK!!!
Two more Corey Hart hits: “Never Surrender” and “Everything in my Heart”. Great Canadian artist.
Back when MTV really was a "music" channel.
Another great Canadian singer… Never surrender is another of his songs..
please ..in memory to Jeff Labar, guitarist to Cinderella, who passed away a little bit ago ...please react to Cinderella: Don't Know What You Got (Till Its Gone)....i think its a fitting song considering he's now gone. please and thank you
This song is a total earworm. It will take up residence in your head for DAYS!
The 80s were the best. Everything had a point of view, the music, the fashion, everything. People loved it or hated it. Awesome decade.
Corey had 2 other hits
“Never Surrender “
“It Ain’t Enough”
As per the same vibe check out ;
Bryan Adams: “Cuts like a Knife”. , “Summer of ‘69”, & “It’s Only Love”
Lover boy:”The kid is hot tonight “ & “Working for the Weekend “
Prism: “Armageddon” & “Space Ship Superstar”
Chilliwack: “Fly at Night”
All of these artists are Canadian.
Chilliwack Fly By Night is sadly overlooked. Great song.
A less well-known song of his that is my favorite is “Eurasian Eyes.” Other catchy songs are “Boy in the Box” and “Komrade Kiev.”
All of those and Peruvian Lady.
Amen !!!!! Love Corey Hart and all the A and B side records!!!
You may also like Billy Squire " the Stroke" and "In the Dark", "Everybody wants You" among others
I cannot get enough of your reactions to this cool, vibey song. No one hit wonder at all was Mr Corey Hart. Long live hIs music and as I say over and over again, OH, CANADA!!!
I love that younger generations are discovering music that I love from my generation. ❤️❤️❤️
You need to do the greatest 80’s club dance song: Blue Monday by New Order. Now THAT’S a vibe.
I'd go with "You Spin Me Round" by dead Or Alive, but I think they did that one already.
How about BIZARRE LOVE TRIANGLE ...BEST 80'S song ever!
@@joangrandy6885 If you haven’t heard it check out the beautiful cover of that by the Australian band Frente.
If you want to hear something different, try listening to Everybody Have Fun Tonight by Wang Chung
Everybody Wang Chung tonight.
No, start with "Dance Hall Days", then "Everybody Have Fun Tonight"
If you’re doing the Canadian artist and you’re looking for one of those songs a vibe. Bryan Adams and Tina turner it’s only love
That's a banger, and their vocals meshed so well!
For next female Friday should do one or both of these 80's female fronted groups Missing Persons, song Destination Unknown or Til Tuesday, song Voices Carry.
also Do you hear me by Missing Person is a hauntingly catchy song, also Modern English "Melt with you"
“Hold Me Now” by The Thompson Twins. Awesome 80’s song and video
Y'all have quickly become my favorites! I absolutely love that you have this kind of reaction and appreciation for 80s music! May I suggest Rick Springfield...Jessie's Girl
Billy Idol like. Someone else that shouldn't be missed on the channel.
This song/video was HUGE! My best friend and I were in loooove with Corey Hart. I still have the album on vinyl. 😎
Never heard of this ditty before. Thank you for this, Great song. Love you guys and the background. Stay safe.
Brings me back. I shared a room with my older sister, who loved Corey Hart. She caught a towel at one of his concerts and kept it folded up on a speaker in our room. With a pair of sunglasses on it.
If you like the 80's try Herbie Hancock - Rockit
Love that video!
May have been the song that started rap 🤔.
@@itsme7045 nope...the Sugarhill gang predates this by 5 years.
Catchy 80s pop tune. It was ALL OVER the RADIO, especially when it first dropped. The video was the coolness too.
All over everything! 🤣
@@shawnsnow2655 R-i-i-i-ght!
If yall like this blast from the past(80's) , then you should react to THE FIXX "One thing leads to another"
This song took Can-Am by storm! The opening - hip and mysterious breaking into the delivery - a raucous out break driven by pain. Love your reactions.🥰 Kill Comradkiv and Eurasian Eyes and Boy in the Box are great songs as well.
The opening is soooooo similar to the Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams are Made of This"...
Ah the memories...❤
If you're looking for new, The Smiths "How Soon is Now"
I just met you but I love you so much for this. 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
@@itsmedino I love you too!❤ High School/College days memories.
