The sad thing is that he got killed by the most cowardly warrior in the war
Achilles was not killed by the cowardly Paris, but by the treacherous Apollo.
He shouldn't have offended Apollo
Who did he think Apollo was? Ares?
Even diomedes with the backing of Athena was smart enough not to offend the god
Achilles died because of his own pride
Achilles died, cause he Disrespected Apollo.
That’s why our old people say not to fear the braves but careful with the cowards .
@@filipekraus2880 Homer knew the irony back then.
*Men rise and fall like the Winter Wheat, but these names shall never die. Let them say, "I lived in the time of Achilles"*
I remember that
In a lifetime of war we will never be lovely more than we are now we will never be here again
I lived in the time of Hector tamer of horses let them say I lived in the time of achilles
Praise to the Olympian Gods.
Odysseus right??
The narrator
In many other versions, Apollo didn't aid Paris. Rather Paris killed Achilles on his own and in the most cowardly time. It was said that sometime after Achilles returned the body, he was gathering the bodies of some of the Greek soldiers killed in their most recent battle. At that moment, Paris realized that Achilles was unarmed and at his weakest so he shot a poisoned arrow that hit his heel and killed Achilles right on the spot in revenge for the loss of his brother Hector.
Tbh that was the only way.
Achilles made it through the gates of Troy then boom the arrow strikes his ankle, by Paris
Paris fought in the war but did not stand out for his courage and strength like Hector and Aeneas, but his most prominent and important intervention in the conflict was against Achilles, whom he mortally wounded with one of his arrows directed by Apollo in the heel of his only point. weak either he killed him in the temple of Apollo hidden behind the statue or it was Apollo in the form of Paris, in any case the prophecy that Herctor pronounced before dying was fulfilled, that Paris and Apollo would take charge of avenging him and that Achilles would die at the same time by Paris and Apollo.
I like to imagine people blame Apollo for basically killing Achilles when he probably just gave the kid a warning like he basically said it’s your funeral and blame for it
It's called plot armor and had Apollo never intervened Paris wouldn't have ever had a shot. Paris will forever be known as a coward. This video was beautifully done. It even made me tear up. Achilles will forever be known as one of the greatest legends in history.
He deserved it

Best stories and animations thanks Mate.
Achilles in the end got what he wanted. He killed the strongest Trojan warriors, led the most lethal march against Troy and his name lived on in eternity. He was the strongest, fastest, the best warrior to ever exist. He should be satisfied in Hades. Right?
According to the Odyssey no.
At one part Odysseus went to the Gates of Hades and got to speak with Achilles' ghost; Odysseus greeted him and said pretty much what you said.
Achilles responded with something along the lines of:
"Spare me your praise of glorious death. Put me again in the land of the living and I'd rather be a serf than prince over all these departed souls."
@@mariobenedicto3582 well, it was a rhetorical question, but at least you got what I meant.
He had some times to think about if eternal glory was really worth throwing his life (and lover life) and so many others away.
@@mariobenedicto3582 well that's just because being dead in the Odyssey is downright awful. You're basically just a zombie wandering aimlessly until someone let's you drink some blood, and even then, you're only going to be capable of reasoning for a few minutes.
If the spirits of the people he killed don't scold him for killing them.
Imagine killing all those warriors like Hector,Penthesilea,Memnon thousands of trojans only to die by an arrow by the most pathetic trojan paris.
I know right. I feel like there is some lesson there that we can all learn from.
It was a good thing then that Achilles was avenged by the ones who helped fulfill the prophecy.
His son Neoptelomus and Philoctetes who killed Paris with the arrow of Heracles.

There's another version in the mythology that it was actually Odysseus who was shot with many arrows and when Achilles came to rescue he said:
"They took the little ones...!"
😂😂😂
And he even looked at Agamemnon and told him " I would've followed you , my brother , my captain , my king" Nice crossover 🤣
Son of Peleus and Thetis, The Mighty Achilles.
Thetis should've made him immortal by giving him to drink ambrozia.

Can't wait for Philoctetes to give Trojan boy a taste of his own medicine
2:51 Ajax here to pick up Achilles body and Odysseus will cover him.
3:26 They pay his respects to Achilles had been lost and she arrive from sea water to see her son's body. They should remember him as a great warrior and his beloved friend met again on the Elysian Fields in Underworld.
Part of me, if Achilles actually existed, wants us to find his burial. As it was written that Alexander the Great paid homage to it on his conquest east. The other part of me wants it to stay a mystery. I'd bet it's location was in the Library of Alexandria that was unfortunately lost to time. Maybe some things are best left a mystery but you gotta wonder what info/knowledge we could have gained from that not being burned away.
Very true. I wonder how it happened as well. False play?
@@Vaelithar Wouldnt shock me at all

Also it was said that his mother took her son's ashes and bones off the pyre and took them to snake island, a tiny tiny island north west of the black sea, and also there was a temple (30 meters x 30 meters) dedicated to Achilles and apparently had a statue of himself and his cousin and bf Patroclus, but also there was a ancient tomb mount at the area of TROAD that covers the north west area of turkey, where Troy city was and the beach's
Patroclus was not his bf.

He dies a hero and now i in the house of Hades training Zagreus (if you play the game you get the reference)
Now I want Diomedes again but this time his whole story from start to finish.
Along with his war against Thebes (the war of epigonis). Diomedes deserves a complete saga
I hope to see the aftermath for all the Greek kings when they return home, how most were met with storms, death and betrayal and other misfortunes when they tried to return home...other than Odysseus we all know what happens

Your joking right
Achiles wasn't invulnerable, he was just too good to get hit.
The original "My Leg!"
Nooo!!!!! Is the first word that came out my mouth when I first saw this video! Great content!
Achilles will forever be remembered.
After his death Achilles would be summoned centuries later to a war between rivalling mage factions, face his former tutor, and suffer a mutual defeat at the hands of a berserk Archer
and his role was esential, his shield resisted a divine nuke sended by a White blonde Hyndus demigod, and saved the lives of his Germanic counterpart and one of the most loyal knight of Charlemagne.
all of this with Jeanne d'arc as a viewer, God, i really love fate.
His mother dumped him in the river Styx but did not make is heal touch it that which makes him mortal and vulnerable
Funny, Patroclus scaled up Troy's wall three times and he didn't even use a ladder. If it wasn't for Apollo thwarting his efforts, much would have been different.
It comes to show how superior heroes were to normal men. Such feats simply come easily to them.
The main antagonist of the Trojan war (Paris the coward warrior)
Achilles:I used to be the greatest warrior like no one. But then I took an arrow to the heel.
Technically aside from the Heel, Achiles has 3 other weakness... The eye, his nostrils which goes directly towards the brain and the earhole (same reason as the nostrils )
May the gods make a constellation for my hero Achilles....Nothing without Achilles.
COWARDLY PARIS! HE STARTED THE WAR JUST BECAUSE OF A WRONG DESISYON!!!
The fall of the hero... 💔💔💔
What about briseis now?
A glorious warrior who died in such a dull way. Only this makes me sad.
Patroclus was definitely more than just a good friend...
Oh my God !!poor Achilles 😭😭!! A warrior’s greatest enemy can also be his greatest Greek heroes...❤

Trojans: Ooops, there goes the warrior.
Greeks: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Me: At least Patroclus and Achiles can be togheter again. R.I.P Achiles.😔 Paris avenged his brother Hector and all the trojans he killed, giving a sweet taste of his medicine.
Has the horse ep appeared yet?
Achilles: You killed me in a cowardly way.
Páris: Like you killed my brother Troilo? A 14 year old boy unarmed?
Achilles: But you have the help of gods
Páris: Oh, say the guy who is a demi-god and use a golden armor made by the gods.
Achilles: But...
Páris: I'll have no songs about How Brave you died, kingsmaker.
Arrogant Achilles finally got justice.
And the moral of this story is never threaten or disrespect a god, even if you are the mighty Achilles.
Achilles Rest In Peace 😢
The real hero of Trojan war - Diomedes
Nice. Thx
What is the soundtrack to this video very beautiful music I must say
Achilles was not killed by the cowardly Paris, but by the treacherous Apollo.
But what happened to that girl at achilles catch that beautiful woman that Achilles was angry about when she was taken what happened to her?
Prince Paris of Troy fought in the war but he did not stand out for his bravery and strength like Hector and Aeneas, even so he ended the lives of several Greeks with his bow and arrows, he killed Menestio, Euquenor and Deyoco and also wounded Diomedes, Macaon and Eurypylus and participated in assaults on the Greek camp, but nevertheless his most prominent and important intervention in the conflict was against Achilles, whom he mortally wounded with one of his arrows directed by Apollo in the heel, his only weak point in any case, the prophecy was fulfilled that Herctor pronounced before dying, Achilles will die at the same time for Paris and Apollo.
Achilles: who is that coward that dares shoot me from behind, also Achilles; cheating so that he can only be killed from his heel. I’ve been waiting for this guy to bite the dust, it’s fulfilling
It's not like he needed that invulnerability, it literally didn't do him any good in the war xd
He is a demi God
What happened to briseis after this?
Sad 😢
Nice job on those heels! Ya missed a spot!
This wouldn’t had happened if Apollo haven’t guided Paris.
A fitting death for a man with no honour. I haven't forgotten what you did to Hector.
how was it no honor it was a fair fight
@@Lucerna999 You forget what he did to the body?

Fields of Elysium …with Maximus
This is a sad one. Achilles is now dead. This is just really sad. 😔
Achilles: *Is one of the strongest and unbeatable warriors ever born*
Also Achilles: *Literally dies if someone hurts his heel*
Zeus: "Ain't I a stinker?" 😁
To be fair, Paris' bow and arrow was guided by Apollo so, he technically got defeated by a divine shot at his weak point. Probably would've broken through any armor he would've had on his heel regardless
Took a Mortal and an Olympian together to defeat the mighty Achilles
I had a question when i first started learning about history how he died from his heel?
It was said that paris shot a poisonous arrow at achilles heel, hence the warrior died.
Another theory was that since it was the only weak part, the heel lost a lot of blood too
I am not crying, you're crying 😭😭😭
Greatest worriar of all time
Actually Achilles was scaling the walls of Troy, that time Paris standing at the sacean gate took aim, with firing his arrow, with the divine intervention of Apollo, who helped guide the arrow to hit its mark and pierce Achilles heel.
Achilles immediately fell to the ground fatally wounded, that was the time Paris told his fleeing Trojan soldiers to go out and plunder and mutilate Achilles body, but menelaus and Odysseus arrived in time driving away the trojans rescuing the fatally injured Achilles and fleeing back to the camps, where Achilles died a painful death in the arms of Odysseus.
What the music name?
could you do a video about Pyrrhus, son of achille? (he had win the trojan war and had take Andromache as his wife...?)
Who is the name of the soundtrack? Achilles death
Achilles on Olympus: "...And that is the story of how I died"
Alexander the Great: "Woah! For a legendary warrior, that's a pretty absurd death!" 😂
Achilles: "At least I died in battle..."
Alexander the Great: *Proceeds to cry in a corner*
Over years one is remembered for his greatness & another for the weakness.
Also Alexander the Great carried the Illiad in battle with him.
Like Achilles,Asfandyar the Persian prince, had a steely body which was impervious to weapons. But his eyes were vulnerable and Rustam killed him with an arrow into his eyes. Like Paris.
How does it help me to grow in the world 🌍🤔
Achilles has been cursed by that one guy, since season 2! Am I wrong?

Is there ever explained why exacly Achilles died after this injury? It was only ever mentioned that it is his "weak spot". I mean it's only a heel - normal person won't die from this kind of injury. Was arrow poisoned or something?
I think there was poison in the arrow
Bgm please?
Achilles was a spoiled brat and would have lost to Hector if the gods didn't help him.
Just think if he would have listened to Apollo and stop the attack on the city of Troy. He would have lived but do you think his legend would be lesser or greater because of his actions that day
Medical students who came to know why calcaneus tend have another name ❤big heart to you 💓💕
This third season Neoptolemus, the son of Achilles, must appear and Philoctetes reappears, since a prophecy said that Troy would not fall if the Greek side did not have the bow and arrows of Hercules in their weapons and let us remember that in the second season of the Trojan War Hercules entrusted Philoctetes with his bow and his quiver of arrows from the blood of the Idra of Lerna.
Yeah cant wait for him
Paris is indeed a coward
he was a lover, not a fighter, that's why he decided to give the golden apple of discord to Aphrodite, he wasn't interested in Athena's offer of victorious glory or Hera's offer of royal leadership, he just wanted the most beautiful woman in the world as his wife slash lover, and the most beautiful woman in the world at that time was Helen, wife of Menaleus of Sparta
Paris abducted slash seduced Helen and made her become Helen of Troy with some help from Aphrodite, and in doing so, he brought forth the Trojan War
(side note here is that Helen of Troy is actually a demigod daughter of Zeus and Leda, she was sister to the Gemini Twins, Castor and Pollux, who also participated in the Trojan War on the side of the Greeks to get her back)
Achilles was a sonavabiach Glad he got killed .
The moment we all been waiting for........or is that later

@@m.e.vangel3461 nothing about this in the Iliad. In the original story, Achilles was shot in the calf which immobilized him. hector was the real heroe in this story even the writers said it
Achilles is ruthless. He dragged Hector’s body through the streets in order to humiliate Hector. This is an act of a small, narrow minded person. Karma got him at last and he was killed by a coward Paris. He got what he deserved. He defeated Hector not because of his skills but because of the unfair protection of his body. Hector is a true hero. Achilles has the brute strength but lacks moral.
