None after finding out you will get sub 25 fps anytime there is action on the screen for the PS5.
So if you want to be a mystic spear you need to be a mage?
Probably Archer but it's to bad ranger isent there since I loved ranger in the first game
@@SteveSavage79 found another one
Ya know, fighting giant monsters with sword and shield is just my peak heroic fantasy
Same, i will play Fighter on my first playthrough
peak male performance, Yes.
I agree, the bow and shooting from long range all game just feels cowardice.
The bread and butter of heroic fantasy
@@thecanadakid7622and repetitive
Welp this is the first time I've seen thief use headsplitter. I'm sold now
Khajiit chooses to be thief. Not to steal. Okay, maybe khajiit will steal, but not because khajiit is a thief.
lol, I love you Khajiit, you stole my heart.... but not because you are a thief.
Stuck between Thief and Archer I really liked the strider class
Mage is a must-have as either arisen or main pawn. Not only is it the single healer starter vocation but being able to customize your spell loadout to match certain encounters is a huge advantage compared to having to rely on random online pawns to have the spells and enchantments you need
Yeah but it's super easy to pick hired pawns that have the elemental buffs you want, just look at their equipped skills before hiring
@@cloudbloom IF they improve the pawn search options in DD2 to allow us to filter pawns by specific skill loadouts, i’d agree 100%. I’ve been playing DD1 and it’s a hassle trying to find a good mage with the right mix of offensive and defensive skills. On the other hand, tank and physical dps pawns are the easiest to recruit since they work decently out of the box and don’t have to worry about elemental resistances 🤷♂️
But I dont wanna play a support nerd so Ill simply not play one
@@doortoby1897 yeah me neither, so my pawn will be the mage 🧙♂️
Idk about y’all but my pawn will be a warrior. I’m running Mystic Spearhand.
There will be passives unlocked by each that can be carried over across vocations so just play them all over time
good to know, ty
That's what it was in the first one but is this confirmed for this one aswell? And if so do you know where that info is?
Will the stats reset for each vocation in this game? In the first one that wasn't a thing and made you weaker if you went to 200 with one vocation and decided to change.
@@nippleopolise3772 i heard it referenced in several preview videos but I suppose it could all be hearsay at this point
@judahofjudea4601 they confirmed stats change with vocation now. As in they are dynamic and not based off level ups
No min-maxing for stats makes picking all vocations much easier this time around.
Wait has this been confirmed? How are they breaking down the leveling stats then? Just generic gains across the board no matter the vocation?
@@zaoshikung2756 No, what happens is that every vocation has its own stat growths, BUT the total amount gained per vocation translates to what would have been gained as a different vocation. In other words, if you gain +8 Strength as a Warrior, switching to a Mage translates that into +6 Magicka, and vice-versa.
Its like the job system in some Final Fantasy games.
@@TheTraveler980 That's really nice, no more powerleveling as Strider xD. Can simply play the game as you like, I'm glad they're doing this.
I felt like I ruined myself when I played through the first time leveling all vocations as fast as possible 😅
@@TheEgrigor Didn't make a noticeable difference, it was only for min-maxers. And I really hope it will be the same in DD2. I always leveled my pawns as fighter first for the highest HP or strider for stamina increase and later on switched to their final vocation until max level.
Going to try everything but magic is always worth it. Mage into Magick Archer, Mystic Spearhand, and Sorc.
bro i was gon do that also or use trickster instead of ma
@@capolean2902 same tbh, trickster just minmaxing fall damage and friendly fire sounds hilarious.
Magic users stay winning
Archer, then magic archer…..coz I’m a sucker for long distance attacking 🤣
*Me as well i am archer on skyirm*
*Gloomstalker assassin on bg3*
*Archer all the way in any game*
gotta go sorc first run with a fighter pawn. just feels right
Starting as a thief for sure, I like the mobility. I started as a Strider in the first game and transitioned to Assassin to keep my options for ranged archery and melee sword or daggers. This time however, I'm definitely going to find out what it takes to work my way to Mystic Spearhand. Been playing a lot of Monster Hunter lately and Mystic Spearhand definitely activates my Insect Glaive neurons!
The strider is sooo OP they had to split it into two🤣
And even after the split they decided to give thief a few Assassin skills xD
strider with daggers and bows was the OG wave
@@TSmoove74so i guess now path is start with fighter then thief then archer? 🤔 would that be the new path for a strider
might run the mage this time until i get the spear unlocked. I dont want to miss the stat boost of using the lower vocations either so idk. the archer dodge mechanics look cool tho@@slurmsmckenzie.
@@TSmoove74all vocations have their own set stats now for levels so leveling with a certain vocation for certain stats is not longer required
I wanted to take a second to appreciate your smooth transition between thief and fighter. Good planning!
Another thing to consider is making your pawn a sorcerer if your mc is one too or using a sorcerer warfarer as that will let you link spells while also swapping the spells if u feel like it
I started off as Strider in DD1, I'll start with Thief for DD2, making my pawn a fighter going into warrior. I'll probably advance into mystic spearhand or warfarer, depending on how they all feel. But I'll be playing everything to get a feel for it and make final decisions. I'm gonna dive so hard into this game.
Me too bro
My character is a mage and my main pawn is a fighter. I am excited for mystic spearhand down the road but if the warfarer's lower stats are not too low or I can still use augments to buff my magic attack I think a character with a twin spear, magic bow, and great staff to switch between based on situation would be a ton of fun to play.
I was thinking of going fighter, spearhand, and archer with the warfarer
@@jameswtlocsNot a bad combination of weapons there. Spearhand seems to be more melee than mage but we haven't seen all that it can do yet. I just hope that the stats are not so much lower that it is not fun to use. My focus being mainly on magic.
@@StorytellerWMD I see that. I just know that on the first game there was many enemies that weren’t affected by magical attacks. Yet, if the spearhand is more melee focused your combination might be the way🤔
@@jameswtlocsThe magic bow can also heal, and the arch staff has the vampiric self-heal. I have put a lot of thought into this. But there is no one right way, so I am excited to see how people play warfarer. The build potential is great. But I want to see the stats.
@@StorytellerWMD magic main with fighter pawn. great minds and all 🤣
Archer, thief and mystic spearhand in that order will be my first 3.
I was planning on Archer for me, Mage for my pawn and then grab a fighter and thief (or warrior), but that may depend how far into the game I have to go before I can recruit pawns 2 and 3. Cheers
I always play every vocation unlock all the passives so for me it doesn't matter where i start . But i usually run strider as first.God we've all been waiting years for this game hard to believe its here now.
Wish there was a demo before buying those where the good old days
Imagine if Blizzard went that route with D4.. they would've lost so much money..
I like how the Mage has Princess Peach jumping ability 🤣
I'll do whatever vocations have the double jump, that skill was so much fun in DD1.
I’m going for thief becuase I usually play the typical warrior class in rpgs. Plus I play dual blades in monster hunter so gotta keep the tradition going
One thing that bears mentioning is that Strider in DD:DA got a pretty significant damage bonus when climbing, making it by far the best class for climbing large enemies. There's no way to know if this Thief has this bonus now, but I'm willing to bet it does.
For Archer, Ranger in DD:DA was the best at inflicting status because arrows for every status existed that could simply be bought, which I also presume will be true in DD2.
My starting class will depend on the augments(if there are any) but I plan to switch to Mystic Spearhand whenever I can. I will also not look up where you can find the teacher so it might be awhile.
The thief looks fun to me but Warrior with an Archer sounds like a good way to play.
I'm definitely rockin thief, most times I pick rogue/ monk when playing d&d..
With that being said as soon as as I can play a wanderer I will be, being able to switch from three different vocations at any time sounds wonderful.. thief, magic Archer, and trickster
I’m curious how vocations in DD2 will affect character progression, because in the first installment, the vocations determine your stats and which ones increase based on what your main character and Pawn level up in.
Example: if you’re a fighter, early game every time you level up, your offensive and defensive stats, plus HP increase X amount until a certain level, then gradually decrease in points in higher level characters.
Same goes with other vocations: strider ranger, their leveling focuses on stamina and hit percentage. While mage and sorcerer: their magic offense and defense stats increase.
Hopefully this is getting confusing, but I guess what I’m trying to say is. Don’t go too heavy on leveling up with just one vocation. At least for me, I like having a Pawn that’s well rounded and not just strong in magic but also has good mele defensive stats.
Rurikhan's preview touched on this... His testing showed that it no longer works like that. Each vocation will switch your stats automatically, so you're not forced into playing a vocation you don't like just so you get the right stat increases. Seems like a great change to me, as it'll allow a lot more flexibility in what to play!
Going for human mage (more of a supportive role) and later trickster myself.
My main pawn would be a tanned (half-elf-looking) archer who fights cautiously... And with strategic moves. He will be the one providing suggestions to the party during combats.
The other two pawns will be borrowed from friends.
One of them is a well-built human fighter who is always ready to help party members in need...
The other would be a grey-silver-furred catman thief with amber and blue eyes. He acts rather aggressively, always striking first.
Guess the fighter will need to look out for the thief often then... I am not sure how the pawns' personality type ai works this time though...
My plan is for a fighter to warrior with a mage pawn, but I'm going to play the first hour or so as the four basic vocations before I make/start my proper character.
Are you going to
Play on console or PC?
@Sunil_Sukumar PC, pre-ordered it as soon as I could, was a big fan of the first game.
honestly it's kinda better to go thief before warrior, thief has the passive to increase physical attack while fighter has one for phyical defense, so we might end up playing a bunch of vocations for their passives to compliment our builds
@@rail7646 I'll wait until I've unlocked warrior and played warrior before I think about dipping into other vocations, also I'm not really into minmaxing so I'm not too fussed about the passives of other vocations, atleast not yet. Thanks for the advise though.
Gonna be starting Mage myself and then progress to either Magic Archer or Mystic Spearhand
I went archer with a mage as main pawn for healing
Now that I learned about the thief's thievery skills, I want to role-play as a proper rogue. I am not huge on jumping around though. I would have chosen a fighter if not for that.
im a little unsure but i will most likely play the Thive or Archer
I’m going human mage into trickster with a fighter pawn first play through. Then Beast assassin into Warfarer
I want to know if you need to pick a certain starter vocation in order to learn a specific hybrid vocation. Like, do you need to start as an archer to later unlock the magic archer? And If that's the case which class do you need to start as to unlock the magic spear?
No. Once you have 'unlocked' a vocation through a quest with a Maester, you can freely swap to it, regardless of what your existing class is. I believe (DD1 did this and my impression is DD2 is the same) it is entirely possible to level up in every vocation in a single playthrough, in any order. The only limitations are: Pawns cannot enter some advanced vocations (at least the hybrids, like Mystic Archer and Trickster), and you must start with one of the 4 basic vocations. Warrior may be the advanced version of Fighter, but (based on what I have read & seen) you do not need to have spent any time as a Fighter to switch to Warrior, for example.
Hard to choose between Mage and Thief-- also want to play magic archer, since it was my favorite class from Dark Arisen.
I kinda wanted to go with something different I never go with and made the smallest girl possible, but a mage.
I never make mages or the small "helpless" type of characters, so figured it might be an interesting challenge to be small, nimble, vulnerable but use very strong magic.
No idea if I'll end up sticking to that though...
A gruff medium sized bearded man-of-the-woods type of archer guy also popped in my mind as someone that might be fun to roleplay as.
Or maybe an old man mage?... hmmm decisions, decisions.
Shame there's no "wisdom" bonus of some sort by making an older but frailer character. Would be cool to be some Gandalf type haha.
I'm kind of a sucker for making a general idea or theme for a character and imagining what their life has been like and how their looks would reflect that "story" and how their vocation came to be. (My BG3 character ended up being an asian woman who used to live with a rich family and trained a bit to protect herself, but then lost her parents at a young age and ended up having to learn to steal food to survive mostly in the woods and nature, so she is a rogue thief, but with a high sense of morals and justice, wanting to "make up for her crimes she had to resort to", sometimes almost to a fault picking the option to help naively... and I've played her just like that and it's been interesting....)
Either way I wanna go with something a bit different..
Well age might not but weight and build does effect gameplay though. If you make a tall but very skinny/frail old man he would still have an okay move speed due height probably but his stamina/mana pool would regen faster due to being lightweight
What pawn class would you recommend to have or just as a meat shield/tank or just a melee guy. So my Mage can pump out some dps? :D As I will try if I can, to just use my pawn and no other pawns. Unless 1 is needed for a quest/mission. I just like going at it with two, four feels to many.
PS: ppl who played DG1 is staying a Mage good, to bring healing spells to the party? or should I just go for Sorcerer for more dps. As I assume there will be some health potions etc?
Fighter pawn all to the max level. If you want the pawn to deal more damage later on, you'll probably switch him to warrior as soon as the fighter pawn reaches max vocation level (to get the other passives). We'll have to wait and see which vocations offer good passives for our pawns if DD2 wil function similar to DDDA.
What was the max lvl? 100?
In the first one I started as Fighter but quickly went into Assassin and also used Mystic Knight for a bit. I don't know if to try and do the same (I guess Spearhand replaces Knight) or go into Archer and try that for a bit.
Going to start out as a fighter Main class will be Warrior after maxing out all the vocations Pawn is going to start as a Archer or mage. Also did I just see somebody catch someone out of the sky saving them from falling to their death or major damage close to the end of the video? that looks awesome.
I know my Arisen is going Archer, but I don’t want to do the cliche of making my Main Pawn be a Fighter. How screwed would I be if I did Archer/Mage on Normal difficulty? Idk something different. Seems questionable design to only have one tanky vocation so the two ranged starting vocations are forced to have a fighter with them to perform well.
I’m hoping I can distract and kite effectively enough while dishing out damage, while my Mage does their thing by charging incantations with some support too. Hoping this goes well for the beginning until I can eventually hire a third Pawn that will for sure be a frontline vocation. I am probably just overthinking this.
can someone explain me about deluxe edition?
there is a real value of it? or you can find all this stuff lately in the game?
Magick Archer for me. Sounds interesting
I am going mage, I feel like they are the most versatile with all the different spells and schools of magic. Going to get a Fighter and Archer as my pawns.
Starting my Arisen as Thief and my main pawn as Mage
I’m the same as you thief except my pawn is fighter
Same here!!
Glas i got a 3 day weekend on release date :)
I’m starting to as a thief and then transition to a mystic spear hand or maybe a warfarer and have my main pawn as a mage
Is the leveling progression the same as the first Dragon Dogma? Like do i need to stay a sorcerer for 200 levels just to be a strong magik archer?
Planning on Fighter with a Mage healing pawn. Then change over to the Mistic Spearhand. But, that Rouge looks to be fun.
Having difficulty on figuring out which vocation to start with. Strider from the first game was my favorite to start with, but now they've gone and split it up. I'm currently between archer or thief
Thief seems to have a lot of cool movement abilities, so I going into Thief if I don't decide to play Mage.
Both
Thief is still overpowered with its assassin abilities.
I’ve been having so much fun making my pawns Idek who to play
Going for thief agility and daggers striking weak point and climbing on big monsters
So i got a question yall since im an archer i went for fighter pawn but would the mage be better since it can heal ?
Does anyone know if the starting vocation you pick affects which advanced vocations you can learn later on? Like if you pick fighter you can’t learn magic archer later cause you didn’t pick the archer class to begin with?
Not for sure, but you may have to level up the starter vocations first before you can pick the correct advanced vocations. We'll see in a few days.
I feel like this is one of the major weaknesses the game has: you only can use a party of 4 :(
The reason I say this is because Fighter and Mage are so crucial in a party composition, that you only really get space for two extras. So say youd like to have a sorc to hit magic spells, youd probably have to use fighter, sorc and a mage still since theyre the ones who have healing and support. No big deal but I wish I could have more classes in the party, wouldnt mind if monsters were tougher in exchange for it. Just to have that medieval fantasy of full party adventure.
I think archer and thief lend themselves to the pawn roles better, as support. These vocs, wont suffer as much in these fight from being stupid, like the pawns will be. Having a smart fighter and mage is very crucial during fights as you will see in this game. A stupid fighter will bring damage to the WHOLE team. Your main pawn will level with you, the others wont, unless its changed....choose wisely.
If you make your pawn into a thief, will they climb enemies and stuff on their own? Will they try to steal? How's the A.I.?
Going to go for a drizzt taught surface elf so I'll prob start as thief then work into spear
I can never pass up a chance to embody Drizzt.. dual daggers class every time.
I'm picking Thief coz that seems the closest to Mystic Spear style gameplay, which is what I'm hoping to main. Main Pawn will be Fighter, coz I just love Female Knights in general 😂😂.
Definitely thief and then mystic spear hand for my arisen. And mage for my main pawn.
I am SOOOOOOO excited for thief 😩😩😩
Somebody knows how much height n Body weight affects stats etc in dragons dogma 2 cause i made a beastren and i want him to be as Big as possible but i plan on playing mysticspearhand and dont wanna countact the agility and ability to climb and stand on top of bosses and stuff so what you think?
I need that ten fold flurry again for the archer
I chose a fighter and modelled him after Geralt, and my main pawn is a mage modelled after Yennefer
I’m going for thief
picking up vacation to play vocations, yes
It will end the same as DDDA for me.. Start as mage or thief and then i will sooner or later unlock every vocation and good skills just switch around xD
i made tobey maguire to be my main pawn, and obviously he needs to be a thief. But when playing DD1 my favourtie class was strider because of the knives. So now i don't know what i should do. Should tobey be archer perhaps? Because im definitely going thief.
This is gonna be the greatest game of all time!!!
im going to start as a mage and become sorcerer
so one worry i have is are the enemies just gonna be big sponges? like how many hits will a simple goblin take to kill
I just need to know if leveling is going to be like the first game or different
How do u unlock the mystic spearhand?
Neat
Def mailing Thief. Just torn between fighter or mage for main pawn
Can you have two at the same time like is If I want sorcerer and fighter?
I plan to play Fighter and Archer and then Mage for pawn. I hope they changed the stat progression from the first game though. It was my biggest issue from the game and ruined a lot of the enjoyment for me.
Don't plan on play as him, but I made a Voldemorth in creation.
My Main Vocation may end up being the warfarer.
cool so you going to play the game only at end or postgame, how do you get there then?
@@rail7646 I am %80 sure you may have to Master at the Most 3-4 Vocations to Find the Teacher of the Warfarer.
How to become mystic speardead? You need to be a warrior? Or any vocation can do..
Since if I can get my hands on a new SSD and the game, I am a mage/Sorcerer so I'll lose the healing spells, hence why I'm more tempted to use my pawn as another Mage, Fighter being the next obvious option.
I wonder how much the inclination impacts pawns. As I like the Calm voice but I'm not sure if Calm is the best choice if I was making my pawn a Fighter.
it impacts them alot actually... for example kind inclination makes them focus on healing and rescuing people instead of fighting so that they would always choose to do that first even if an enemy is in front of them.
Likely you'll have opportunities/items to switch and steer their inclinations in certain directions over time like the first game
@@DevineDumbass maybe not though since their voice is tied to their inclination.
Archer into Mystic Archer into Mystic Spearhand that my main plan.
I want to rank up all Vocation in time.
Starting as Archer only if i run into flying enemies in the beginning 🙂
Fighter is to boring for my play style, And i dislike Mage & Sorcerer in the first game.
So my option was Archer or Thief to start out.
I love that they remove min/max from Vocation stats growth this time around.
Kindly.
Thief looks like a lot of fun
i dont want to use any of the default vocations. but since im forced to choose one, fighter because parries are cool. just biding time till i can be warfarer
only lurking for the warfarer might fuck you up in the long run, it's obviously a vocation that awaits in end or postgame after you have unlocked every other class
I gonna start with Thief and switch to Spearhand when I’m able to.
Probably going with Archer or spear hand first
Thief for stamina then fighter for strength and endurance then sorceror for magic and stamina is how i played the first dd
Seeing archer Geralt threw me off for a moment there
Ngl them splitting the strider class into two separate ones is the only let down other than that it’s perfect
In first game is was stats that's are important (you couldn't respec them) not vocation. I advice to hold on points until you are set on your main vocation.
In DD2 every vocation levels separately. So there is no min maxing. Whatever vocation you pick will have its own stat path. Then when you pick something else, that new vocation with have its own stat path and you won’t carry anything over to it.
@@bhrispinigale5832 Thank you now Im less stressed on choosing first vocation
So it's not good to have a Thief as your main class from the start and the Fighter as your main pawn since they're both melee right?
No that’s fine, you can get two more pawns. Like a mage and an archer for example. What matters is that you play your role. As a fighter you have to be the biggest target, the tank
imma be doing a magic archer
did you see any mystic knight abilities? , mainly great magic cannon?
Mystic knight isnt in the game :( It seems mystic spearhand replaced lt or something
i’m going with the monk
Playing all the classes but trickster will be my MAIN.
sadness
Can you go theif into magic spearhand?
Im going Fighter -> Mystic Spearman for me and Fighter -> Warrior for my big Tony the Tiger pawn. Then I’ll hire a mage.
