It's a very easy game to switch your vocation and your pawn's vocation so don't feel locked into anything. I did Strider and Magic Archer in the first depending on my mood. Also base vocations aren't worse than the advanced just different. Mage is more versatile and can heal, while the sorcerer is mostly offensive, but they are both viable for end game. Also the Magic Archer can heal now so you have two healer options, so mage isn't a party must like the first game. Wayfarer only has 3 skills but can swap between three weapons basically allowing you to triple class anything and effectively giving you more skills (nine) not less. Making it easy to combo cuz you can map them to the same button and just hit the weapon swap in-between.
How is archer better than magik archer? Like would archer be expected to deal higher dmg at a cost of lower overall utility?

Magick Archer is NOT superior to the Archer, what separates them is one utilizes magick while the other focuses on physical attacks. All of the Vocations have their own areas of expertise
It’s not easy to switch vocations considering you have to find the vocation master somewhere in the world
@@eli.sinell Magick Archer is widely considered the best Vocation in DD1, not sure about DD2 though.
Magic archer is more damage Angry, specialy After min/max because you Can pump Magic or str to get the best of Magic bow @@The_Babe

This series is built for you to multiclass. Play them all, swap around, there's no real barrier besides gear. You will unlock passives that can be used across classes by ranking them up so there's reason to try everything, plus they have different strengths and some will excel in situations where others fail.
The Mystic Spearhand looks waaay to dope for me to not play through the whole game with it

Magic Archer was my favorite in the first game. Will be rolling that for my first playthrough.
I am going to be a trickster and I'm hoping that my prediction that it's skills get poison, sleep, and paralyzes as upgrade or weapon extras comes true.

Gonna start as Fighter then go into Warrior and try Mystic Spearhand. Then I will find the Wayfarer trainer and go with a mix of those two.

More than that is the misinformation of people treating vocations like it's some sort of permanent choice or commitment. These games are built around swapping them out, it expects you to play them all, they even changed how stats work to make it easier to do

I recommend just playing everything your first time through, if you take your time with the game you will probably max out all vocations, then plan a min/max build for the second playthrough!

I can see warfarer being the ideal support vocation. party buffs and agro manipulation to take off some heat from your tank with trickster, healer and element buffs from mage, and range revive from magic archer.
I never played DDDA yet, but I don't think buffs are influenced by your characters stats are they? So lower stats wouldn't be a problem if that is the case.
Yeah the buffs r not influenced by stats from what i remember, however, that is most likely to change in this game,if the devs want trickster and mage to be viable choices. If the buffs aren't based off stats in this game, tbh, there'd be no reason to play as any support class when you can just play warfarer and get the best of both worlds.
I'm going jedi dogma as my first play😊 ,plus the mystic spearhead remind me of the assassin spec from from swtor
I’m playing three classes, fighter, warrior and archer, still early in the game, but if you do side quests and explore you’ll have enough money to equip decently yourself and your pawn, so don’t worry about “picking your main”, experiment at your leisure would be my advice.

@@pauldobell so far warrior, very satisfying, archer is impossibly easy to play as but it is fun too, and fighter I don’t like very much, not liking skills too much and how sluggish he feels.

All it's missing is coop drop in drop out helping with quest, side missions, bosses, and exploration i would kill to aid and team up with my fellow arisen.
As someone who platinumed Dragons Dogam DA I recommend you max out all vocations due to the fact that you can use these boost call augmentations
and considering this time leveling up as a vocation you dont want doesnt fck with your stats makes grinding those vocation levels a lot less painful.
Can every base class change to every advenced class like for example the wizard is the only one who can be a sorcerer? Or can I start as thief and get sorcerer later?
Sooo I’m new to dragons dogma, I want to use the archer. But does that I mean I don’t have any sword? I’m worried I’ll get bored of only shooting arrows after a while

I think once I get the feel for everything I want to go for a warfarer who runs mystic spearhand magic archer and Warrior for a nice balance in damage types and range
but all of them look like so much fun - especially after playing DD:DA, I want to try and mix and match them all
Thinking something similar, but geared towards sorcerer join casting. Trickster/sorcerer/magic archer with 2 sorcerer pawns and a rogue or archer. The idea tank with the wayfarer trickster and buff , join sorcerers cast, and revive from affar with arc archer ….😅

Mages are also able to use Quickspell. that isn't just a sorcerer thing

I always start out in every RPG game as a fighter melee character.
It's a safe bet for a fun time. But afterward i might change to rogue, but i could never get into the mages.
Magic has never been my strong suit, never had the patience for it.
I always prefer physical blows rather than chanting and casting.
that's fair. Im the same way but swapped: I like the almost strategic playstyle there is in magic classes in alot of games, but especially in dragon's dogma. Not to mention all the colors from the more intense/flashy spells make my eyes happy, but i've always found melee/fighter characters "basic" or sort of like the baseline, not enough flair for me.
I'm not into the limited class thing, I get why it's there, but they could have had a mission or a tree system where you could train in another class. You use swords but you can have a basic mage tactic.
What do I know I just a basic normie player.

Warfarer could be like an assassin build I didn’t unlock it yet but it looks like you can switch between three weapons so you can do bow sword and daggers
I’m just wondering how are you supposed to fight the giant with the trickster? If they have -1 damage😵

im guessing most of us will end up as a warfarer End game due to multiple Weapons can use.
but warfarer has lower stat growth and can’t use advanced skills other classes can.

i wanna make an archer arisen and maybe then switch to warfarer but idk if i should make my main pawn mage or fighter at least in the early game to help my archer 🤔🤔
If it’s like Dark Arisen, you’ll be able to mix and match different classes and have there upgraded class to. For Example, you start with thief, and your pawn is a fighter, after that you could switch classes with each other or have a new one to unlock and max that out. So you will have many options before the end game to understand and test out different classes

You can switch to different vocations when you like (if you have found the vocation master)
For the mystic spear do you have to be a mage or any base vocation?
you can be everything you want you could start as a fighter and end up as a sorcerer depends on what you want to use once you unlock the vocation you can switch to wichever you want u just have to speak to the inkeeper and switch whatever you want

If Dragon’s Dogma 2 is even remotely like what Itsuno claims it to be, then we’re looking at a GOTY contender. Dragon’s Dogma 1 was severely held back by aging hardware and Itsuno wasn’t kidding when he said they were going all out on the sequel

Except trickster was not for me… I was pretty excited for trickster but it felt kinda boring for me personally but I suppose ima be a warfare constantly changing things or just constantly changing between vocations

Please tell me that the romance system is better than Dark Arisen?? I couldn’t enjoy the final boss or the post game due to my character getting with a dude. I’m fairly confident that the weapons, map, characters and all that will be awesome. I just want to know if the romance is completely different from DA.

@@vamperic The romance system is Dark Arisen was horrible, I literally tried to romance Mercedes or the princess, but since you get affection for doing people quest, I ended up with the merchant dude. He’s one of the last people you meet and since I always do every side quest that’s available before the final boss, his affection was higher than the rest of the Npc. There’s ring made to increase affection and I used it on Mercedes, yet I still ended up with the merchant. You could literally look up how bad the romance system is in the game and understand why it made me lose interest in the game.
This is a game to wait for release over any preorders. We are consistently seeing examples of a poorly optimized pc release here.

I just can't see Pawns utilizing Hybrid vocations, they're very much designed for the Arisen. The starting four, Sorcerer, and Warrior make sense for them since they're not as refined as a person. Pawns are incredibly simple-minded creatures, one of the biggest story arcs for the main Pawn SPOILER WARNING
Is becoming YOU at the end of the game, an actual person. You give it purpose and being, a body they are not bond to the multiversal laws of the Rift.
