Thief, early and even mid game, smoke then heavy attack. Ive been one shotting everything. Run up in and drop smoke and all your attacks are crits. Feels op. Especially with archers bonus for attacking enemies not in battle stance and some rings and stuff to build around the idea
Thief has the highest damage period. Blades of Pyre hits for over 60k which is nuts as Sorcerer meteor hits 30k before it got nerfed... their wasn't nerfed. 😂 Formless feign then use Blades of Pyre and it won't hurt you nor apply a burn to you. It's literally the highest survival + damage. The only class to come close is magic archer for damage or Mystic Spear for survival. But thief is just a starter class and has arguably the best survival with manual dodge and Formless + literally the highest damage. There's no reason to play anything else IMHO
Frosthunter bolt, is the most versatile attack in the game IMO. It’s basically a Marty’s Bolt with a frost component, that doesn’t cause health damage to the player. It’s like sending 5 arrows that chase down targets, hitting them up to 5 times each. That’s 25 attacks per shot!
Your augments for mystic spearhand need changing. Swap out athleticism for zeal (warfarer lvl6 rank, reduces stamina used when using weapon skills). Definitely swap out vigor. you’re never gonna be climbing on enemies like your a thief, change that out for exaltation (max rank mage augment, increases stamina recovery speed). Voracity is nice for spearhand but it isn’t needed when you use exaltation along with spearhand stamina drain skill. That can be swapped out for verve or dominance
For the very reason you said Magick Archer is better than archer is why I prefer archer. Magick Archer is just to easy and Archer is incredibly strong when played right and requires a bit more effort and skill from the player. My top three: Thief - its busted but incredibly fun and as my first playthrough. Archer - Once I got the hang of it, it was stupid powerful. I actually like having to manage a resource for my strongest hits. Drenching enemies with water with electrified weapons or lightning spells and watching it arc is fun or freezing large enemies easily to gain easy windows for damage. Watching the massive poison tics from two nocous arrow while still hitting weak points, tarring shot then exploding shot or fire magic to set them ablaze. Hands down would be my number one if I didn't enjoy thief as much as I do. Mystic Spearhand - Wild Furie and teleporting around the battlefield is fun. Warfarer - some combos are OP but honestly I use it more the ability to wear anything lol.
Magick Archer has to be earned by going into a high level area and getting trashed by enemies to get so it should be easier to use cause it’s not easy to get early in the game like archer, The majority of people can’t get Magick Archer early, it’s a end game class,
I also love archer, but magic archer is fun for the op endgame goofing around. Imagine if the archer didn't need a skill and a special arrow, but only the right arrow to use it. Could be fun since it would be so versatile. Maybe with a skill similar to rearmament that would cycle you through arrow types. That would have been a great maister skill.
I played as a Magic Archer in both games and Ricochet Hunter is a must. I beat even larger enemies without even seeing them. It clears a caves like nothing. Any area where it's a bit enclosed it's stomps.
I finished the game as a warrior. Now I’m doing a new game plus and I’m looking for a new vocation to try. Magic archer looks the most appealing to me. Thank you :)
Magic Archer's Blazefang arrow is basically a guided missile you can kill multiple targets before they know you exist because it goes way way beyond normal combat range under your control, you can also use it to scout around some, especially in caves. Thief with skull splitter, and there is a ring that makes you do extra damage if behind the enemy... brutal. (i forgot the name of the ring, recently restarted haven't found it with this save yet, deleted the old one)
Magic Archer's firing modes where confusing at first but after a while Polarization came out as the superior one. It targets faster and against a horde of smaller foes is still better than the other one, on a foe jumping at you it can be a lifesaver. Only with a few huge bosses did i find the other mode better
There are some quest in game where you are forced to fight 1 on 1. Sorcerer is useless in that situation. The enemy will hit you & interrupt your chanting everytime. You will be a punching bag
Haven't played this yet but every game I play especially soulslike I always opt for rogue like classes, i prefer the added difficulty running a glass canon with fast attacks and moves so I clicked on video thinking it doesn't matter which 3 HE thinks are the best I'm still gonna choose the rogue .. "First vocation: Thief"...hell YEAH
I use warfarer as basically a strider from the first game i have thief skull splitter and easy kill counter and I have magic archer instead of regular archer and I use the avalanche skill it’s pretty fun in my opinion so easy to switch between two weapons instead of having like four
It was my plan from the start to make a strider with wayfarer. Played much of NG+ as one. You don't even need thief skills as the regular attacks are good on their own.
In my mind warrior will always be my favorite, the fact that you can parry with all your charged attacks, ignore damage and stun enemies with your neutral bash, and then you turning your brain off and just doing big boy damage will always be satisfying to me
I love me some Thief, although I think the class should be renamed to something more fitting. Despite having the means to loot extra goods, it's more of a Rogue class since it still focuses on fighting with dexterity and dealing high damage.
Sorcerer is hands down the best nuke in the game. The only downside is a lack of any defensive spells so you need pawns to do that for you. But for damage, nothing comes close, not even mystic archer. Sure they can martyr but only at a massive cost and disadvantage. With spell hold and flair using just auto attacks you can do the exact same thing with no downside whatsoever. You can even hold tornadoes and meteors too and insta cast those. Thief is the best solo vocation. With just implicate, formless and pyre nothing can touch you so you can go full offensive with no regard to defense. These two vocations outperform all others in every regard.
those who wants to play magic archer but doesnt like the auto lock system. Play wayfarer with this setup (sorcerer - augmented flare archer - spiral shot (the upgraded version, i forgot the name) and deadly shot. Combo is to cast augmented flare and hit it with the spiral shot. If landed on a weak spot this deals tons of damage. Deadly shot is just fun overall so i take it. Im having a blast. Definitely not the strongest build, but it can deal higher damage if landed at the weak spot. Its just more difficult. I also use a sorcerer pawn with augmented flare and the whirlwind ice thing for continous damage for augmented flare. I killed the sphinx without the special arrow with this set up. Me and my pawn casted augmented flare at the head and for some reason the sphinx melted before it could run 😂
I couldnt get into Magick Archer or Spearhand. I do Warfarer with Erupting and Incendiary Shot and use Draw and Quarter with Spite (blighted blades) to stun dragon spellcasting. Or I play Sorceror.
Great video. I started out with thief and loves it. Still currently playing that class. I recently unlock spear class but i gotta upgrade the vocation. I will be playing that next. I havent unlocked magic archer yet but i would love to. Gotta figure out how to unlock it. Your video helped clarify alot.
You get it on volcanic island there is A House on The Left Side On The Map with A Dwarf Thats Gonna Give You A Quest And When You Have Done That You Will Have Magic archer
1. Sorcerer 2. Sorcerer 3. Sorcerer Haha as someone who’s also mastered all of the vocations: 1. Sorcerer 2. MagickArcher 3. Spearhand Archer could be #4 thief isn’t even close to S tier, it is strong yeah but it’s a+ at most.
Objectively, I can't really disagree that the classes you picked are probably best overall. I personally rock Sorcerer though (with two Ring of Recitation, for 50% reduction in cast time). It's not as powerful IMO compared to DD1 (wherever art thou Comestion? Also no manual targeting?), but I still like it. High Levin, Meteoron (Or Maelstrom, if underground), High Spellhold, and High Seism. Seism is good for mobs, and unsteadying larger foes. High Levin is a general mainstay for dealing with flying and weak single targets and overall useful for quick bits of damage. Meteoron is pretty great damage and Maelstrom is OK but chaotic and works underground, unlike the former. Spellhold is the gamechanger for the class though, IMO. I use it to hold a copy of whichever maister skill I'm using, and I unleash it either as a direct follow-up to my opening standard cast of it, or as a quick summon to do bonus damage when the enemy gets knocked down, since even with the Ring of Recitation, it takes too long to cast the Maister skill to take advantage of downed enemy bonus damage period. There is just something _satisfying_ about facing a dragon or whatever, and being like 'eat flaming rocks from the sky' and watch their health get obliterated. If they survive the first hit, well I can just follow up with another one a few seconds later. It leaves my character exhausted, but that's the only real downside of spellhold (other than taking up a precious slot, that is). Spellhold is there for when you absolutely need something extra to kill an enemy that just won't die fast enough. In DD1, Bolide sucked so much in my experience, with Maelstrom being the much better option, but it seems a bit of a toss-up in DD2. Maelstrom is less OP now and Meteoron (which is just Bolide, but not crap) is much better overall for damage but still has some issues with hitting consistently and is utterly pointless underground. Wayfarer deserves an honourable mention BTW. It is flexible, even if you can't use other classes maister skills. I got the most use of it when I was powerleveling with the Medusa bow. I'd use the bow to do the final bit of damage and get the bonus EXP and use my actual skills to do the majority of the damage and survive the fights (I think it was the Mystic Spearhand's dash and shield skills plus skullsplitter).
Im sorry, but cutting wind is fodder compared to implicate. Not only does it help close distances, but it puts enemie in crit stagger and lets you target flying enemies.
This just confirms to me that magic archer would be too strong for my liking. I remember playing magic archer in the first Dragon's Dogma and it was so overpowered that I got bored and never managed to finish the game. I suppose mystic spearhand might be too overpowered too, but it at least looks a little more engaging and I'm curious to try it.
Easy : use skull plitter with dagger, sagitate avalanche with bow, and dragouin foin with spear . So sagitaire avalanche to knockdown ennemy , dragoun foin to close range and skull splitter on weak spot. But if you are using warfarer to play this way it’s only because you can wear what you want . For me thief and magic spearhand need all the skill showed in the video to be fun to play. Only Magic archer can easy beat the game with one skill sagitaire.
@@jboogi90 What doesnt make sense about it? This skill for me is almost a no brainer and turns any challenge into easy mode. Thats why i just dont take it with me
Mystic spearhand is the best vocation. Why? Because you get the dead ringer way too early! I am not even aware of how I got it but I do and now I have a weapon that is basicaly the best of its class until the postgame! Every other weapon I have is garbage next to it. I mean, jesus I haven't gotten past checkpoint town yet and this thing melts everything.
Naah using Recovery Arrow with Magick Archer is kind of pointless. Just make sure you have a Mage Pawn in your party. Besides, at some point, the game becomes quite easy anyway, and the only time my Pawns die is when they fall off high cliffs. A Mage practically makes all healing items obsolete, with the exception of Wakestones (and Allheal Elixirs during end-game). So Recovery Arrow is a useless skill to include, imo. I'd instead use Ricochet Hunter. This absolutely annihilates anything in cave systems, dungeons, or any other enclosed space. It also has incredible range, actually, as you can hit enemies waaay off in the distance with it. Plus, it looks super cool. Also, why no footage of proper Mystic Spearhand shenanigans? You're only using Mirour Shielde and Magic Speregonne, and while I agree to equip these, I don't use them nearly as much as seen in the clips here. With Mystic Spearhand, during combat, you should constantly be charging Redouted Bolt or Forbeding Bolt (while managing Stamina of course), and either combing it with Scattering Bolt or Quik Fot, depending on the situation, or using it to immobilize targets, allowing for a stronger Speregonne, with better aim. Charging the Bolt is key to playing Mystic Spearhand, imo. But perhaps you're just showing some random footage. Aside from that, I'd change some of the Augments you're using. Spearhand really needs optimal Stamina management. If you opt not to equip Ravinour's Hond, Athleticism is good if you're running around a lot. Exaltation recovers Stamina quicker. Maximum Stamina increase with Endurance, obviously. Zeal further reduces Stamina consumption specifically for Weapon Skills. I'd also use Verve, because Spearhand melee attacks aren't exactly the most damaging. The last Augment can be whatever. I've noticed that Spearhand tends to get Knocked Down relatively easy, so I sometimes equip Constancy, but again; a lot to choose from.
Mystic spearhand is underwhelming to me too slow and doesn’t seem as powerful thief is probably best overall followed by warfarer with thief and magic archer
Warfarer are only good with mod for true warfarer. The flare combo still the best dmg in game but this is just what you get . And you can equip all armor . They not made the warfarer like we wanted but this is just a 3 mixing skill from other and not using ultimate.
Do yall like warrior? While it has crazy damage potential, out of all the rpg games this version of a warrior is wayyyy to sluggish for me. Even when u factor in the upgrades to its moveset. And the master skill is not all that great tbh🤦🏽♂️
Warrior is honestly s tier I thought the same as you at first but I wanted to learn him because his damage is crazy and when you do learn him that’s when you get used to the slow attacks and you know when is the right time to pull off the big damage moves like the uppercut or tank an attack
@@hm3drake35well yeah, you have to play the game and level up. You’re not just going to be overpowered and max level right away. This video is showing you the top three best vocations in the game. Obviously you have to progress.
Thief meister skill noted - means you'll have to FIND the fucker before you get it; pass his test... if you can, and Then unlock the skill. Which for someone like me is just TOO MUCH of a PITA. I liked the way skills were in DD1. It's essentially just Assassin's Invisibility. Only a much larger pain to get. Mystic spearhand as stated in your video on it's "S Class rank" requires you REMEMBER to cast the damned skill; and remember to keep it UP. That alone interrupts the flow of your attacking - so it's a bit more finnicky than you guys all make it sound. Magic Archer: I have ONE skill that does massive damage in general = AT THE COST OF ALL MY DAMNED HEALTH. Not that brilliant with the fact that too much damage blocks off your health bar. You face one big enemy at a time, and near a campsite, fine. It's beautiful... you face one big enemy with crap tons of health and have to walk your ass to a campsite across who knows how far... you're probably screwed by at the least a goblin or saurian pack. Also, no real melee option. Not the best idea. One reason the assassin was well liked (if not the reason it was loved...) was because it gave you BOTH.
If you found those classes very difficult to keep up with then you should’ve just played fighter or sorcerer. Probably sorcerer seems more up your alley. Insanely high damage and minimum aiming required. Just sit back and blow shit up.
Fun fact... if you hit a Minotaur head on with the Magick Archer's Arctic Bolt as he charges you, it one shots him Idk if this works for other skills too, but Arctic Bolt/Hailstone bolt has been fun asf. It ALWAYS knocks your enemy off balance. Every enemy except for Dragons. Dragons require a couple shots
nah this game are not souls..every job are the same easy..its a fun game..u can have lot of potion and herb..and you can just watch from far while your pawn fight
Mystic spear is ass. The masterie attack is mediocre damage and the bubble is nothing to write home about due to its patheticly short duration even then YOU STILL TAKE DAMAGE it only ansorbs a set amount of damage which is not stated or pops after 3 hits so when fight a lot of ememies and a couple have range its always gone and it eats stamina to keep stacking it.... in fact, all the abilities eat mass stamina. Thief and Formless Faint is way too good to pass up on as it literally negates ALL DAMAGE, including DoTs like burning, Blades of Pyre influcts the highest damage in game hitiing upwards of 60k and for context sorcerer meteor only hit 30k give or take... and that was nerfed. Thief hasnt been nerfed and hits over double. 😂 I killed madusa in 4 hits and a gyphin in 2 (1st hit floored it, the second on the head wiped over 3 health bars 😂) Thief us disgustingly OP and i love it.
My favorite: Thief I prefer Archer over the Magick Archer. I was playing the Archer on my way up to pick up the magick archer and was quite bored once I switched over. I enjoy how precise I have to be on Archer when aiming for the weak points and I just feel like the abilities are more impactful from a gameplay POV. Magick archer you just run around and push buttons while the game aims for you. 🥱

Lol people thought fighter was weak, fighter turns out to be soo op end game
Fighter is great 💪🏼 I think these 3 are better choices though
@@ColdBwoyy i agree but i think fighter is better than mystic spearhand
@@Dknightxsso wrong 😂
@@Dknightxs Yeah this isn't true in the slightest the fighter is pretty weak compared to the spearhand.
Is thiis game playable with Mouse/Keyboard? Ive heard bad things..
Mystic spearhand is underwhelming to me too slow and doesn’t seem as powerful thief is probably best overall followed by warfarer with thief and magic archer
Hate to say this cuz I love thief and spearhand but… magic archer is the only vocation that can one shot dragons
What fun is it 1-shotting a dragon? Isn't the challenge aspect a major part of the fun?
Warfarer clears
It was a surprise for me that he didn't mention it
Warfarer are only good with mod for true warfarer.
The flare combo still the best dmg in game but this is just what you get . And you can equip all armor .
They not made the warfarer like we wanted but this is just a 3 mixing skill from other and not using ultimate.
WARfarer
I love it, my only critic being that rearnement should be a core skill instead of a slotted skill
@@Joker-TMF you really don't need the mod to make it good though. I don't use it and I still rock the game.
can u make a video for most fun builds? The game is too easy that high dps build is just boring
What happened to D2 discord?
Deleted it several years ago.
Can u play with friends?
Nope the only you can do is to use their pawn(npc follower) in your party. But the game is single player
Sorcerer is the best with flame + meteor
Sorcerer is a nice DPS class for sure 👍
Do yall like warrior? While it has crazy damage potential, out of all the rpg games this version of a warrior is wayyyy to sluggish for me. Even when u factor in the upgrades to its moveset. And the master skill is not all that great tbh🤦🏽♂️
Warrior is honestly s tier I thought the same as you at first but I wanted to learn him because his damage is crazy and when you do learn him that’s when you get used to the slow attacks and you know when is the right time to pull off the big damage moves like the uppercut or tank an attack
Vocations do NOT determine stat growth per level. This is not like the first game.
notice how's he's a LEVEL 74 and probably done with the game.
I don’t get it
Meaning much lower level players are WEAKER and couldn’t best opponents so easily and don’t have the same skills
@@hm3drake35well yeah, you have to play the game and level up. You’re not just going to be overpowered and max level right away. This video is showing you the top three best vocations in the game. Obviously you have to progress.
Mystic spearhand is S tier
😂😂😂 people act like healing items are rare in this game
And your ranged archer classes don't need close range weapons it defeats the purpose of having the classes
If you found those classes very difficult to keep up with then you should’ve just played fighter or sorcerer. Probably sorcerer seems more up your alley. Insanely high damage and minimum aiming required. Just sit back and blow shit up.
Fun fact... if you hit a Minotaur head on with the Magick Archer's Arctic Bolt as he charges you, it one shots him
Idk if this works for other skills too, but Arctic Bolt/Hailstone bolt has been fun asf. It ALWAYS knocks your enemy off balance. Every enemy except for Dragons. Dragons require a couple shots
If you have MS's bubble and minatour charges you, he knocks himself out.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
nah this game are not souls..every job are the same easy..its a fun game..u can have lot of potion and herb..and you can just watch from far while your pawn fight
game is too easy tbh
Yea, they need a hard mode like the first game had.
Then play hard mode
I always avoid meta in every game, I think soulsgames has corrupted me lol
Same. I always look for the more complicated ways to play and it's even more satisfying tbh.
I killed madusa in 4 hits and a gyphin in 2 (1st hit floored it, the second on the head wiped over 3 health bars 😂)
Thief us disgustingly OP and i love it.
My favorite: Thief
I prefer Archer over the Magick Archer. 🥱
