This knowledge of drug interactions is an incredibly important issue for folks new to ketogenic diets. The conversation about reducing or eliminating meds under medical support is often mentioned in your content. The difficulty of finding medical clinicians with knowledge of keto is a big issue but this video highlights the need for even more expertise. This is the first video I’ve seen that covers this issue. Thanks!
Such a good episode! Now, how do we initiate this training for pharmacists so that when people approach them they have taken a CME specifically about this topic? And I can send people around to recruit them to their treatment teams?
Can you use the Freedom of Information Act to request internal documents from the Department of Health so that the public knows why they sabotaged the trial on the ketogenic diet
They said it had to do with consents because a lot of the patients were incarcerated mentally ill. But sounds like they had proper consents and didn’t use anyone who couldn’t properly consent.
@@cdcollins9226sadly though, these patients are not in the right state of mind to consent to anything, they are incoherent. Lets be honest, if medications don't work for serious cases, then why would a ketogenic diet be a bad things, why stop the study! A good example is mental health asylums, alot of these people have no hope, so why not just change the diet of the whole hospital, because they have to feed them anyways. But sadly alot of food companies have million dollar deals with places like asylums, prisons, schools, etc. So that is why they stonewalled this study ! How long will it take to see differences, if I’ve done keto for a month and still feel symptoms should I continue? Can you make any videos about ptsd or cptsd
@@user-xr9db2zw7y The recommendation is typically four months minimum of maintaining daily ketosis. Going in and out can tend to be destabilizing in the beginning especially.
Also, clinically I see people reduce their ADHD meds often on a ketogenic diet. Their usual dose becomes too high. So it makes me wonder if blood levels are reduced because of higher absorption? So are blood level changes really reflecting available levels after absorption dynamics?
Big thanks first of all for your work , respect beyond words , i am using lithium and my blood levels lowered after keto , i have felt never better i am also using invega 6mg or trevicta 263 mg i dont know it lowered or highered . Ketogenic diet is the answer i feel but there will be lots of not resistance but obsticles can occured , some humans like us cant handle a modern diet and needs ketogenic diet , if this is proved modern civilisation diet will be questioned . Gut and brain linked so the truth will unveil . Best wishes for all .
just all pscyh meds are bad for mitochndria. In the book brain energy dr pallmer even says sometimes too much medicaiton make it worse for the person with the ilness
First try fixing the problem using a strict ketogenic diet, before giving the patient meds. This sounds like the establishment medicine approach to all illnesses including brain.
Unfortunately, many come to these doctors already addicted to these psychiatric meds, so this is important to understand the interaction while weaning from the meds.
I have a question.I am suffering from PSSD, Emotional blunting, anhedonia.I dont have motivation to live.Corrupt Psychiatric system have destroyed many people lives. Can ketogenic diet cure this iotrogenic disorder😭😭😭🙏🙏
We are so sorry to hear that. It's not clear if ketogenic therapy can "cure" what you are describing. We highly recommend working with a trained clinician to see if ketogenic therapy could be right for you and to make sure it is done safely. This is some important info but shamefully doctors don't even recognise a keto diet. it will takea long time before this info is used widely unfortunately
If enough individuals get improvements with keto , then we can relay our experiances to our Doctors , who will eventually/hopefully learn from their Patients .My own Doc listened when I told her about my improvements with a Carnivore diet .
@@vcogonepro it seems to depend on the individual Practitioner...some know about keto ,and some don't . all we can do is tell them about our experience with it .

Okay. Will stay glued to MM for updates. So hoping that food will be the best solution.
“New drug” and “FDA approved” are not words in a sentence that give me much confidence.

They will stonewall your request and even if they comply much of it will be redacted, blacked out.

Most experts recommend at least 4 months of sustained ketosis for maximal effect. Although it may vary from person to person.
@@metabolicmindcan it take more than a year? Especially if not in ketosis every day?

Seems a nice enough lady, but look at her research history; barely any interest in ketogenic diet; because she's obsessed with clozapine.
