    I think the term “croap” got coined cause people didn’t really know what to call a proper soft soap. But that’s exactly what you call something that’s not a hard puck or a cream...soft soap. The Italians have been using the term “soft soap” forever for soaps like Proraso.
    The tie fighter mod is awesome lol. I believe that part comes off to change the balance of the razor.

    • @j.s.3753
      @j.s.3753 4 роки тому +6

      I hate the term croap as well. It's either a soap or a cream in my book.
      For me a cream starts where the product is spreadable (like you could spread it on toast), anything else is a soap.

    I just wondered the other day how people in Star Wars shave like...do they have barber-droids or something? Probably some kind of electric razor or laser hair removal.

    I've been considering the Hawk (it comes in multiple colors) on and off for a while, so I'm glad to see someone I trust trying it. Your reaction reminds me of when I first tried a GEM Micromatic, which I love but does take some concentration. What scares me the most about straight razors and shavettes isn't so much the blade itself, as it is having to learn a completely different way of holding that blade. So this looks like a great compromise.

    I used those blades once in a father Japanese straight edge, the handle doesn't fold. They're the sharpest shavette blades ever. The injector box is for use with the feather handles or clones. It pushes the razor into the holder, they use a spring system. I remember on my first shave I cut my chin very deeply. It's so sharp there was a slight tickle sensation and lots of blood. No joke the following day the cut was hardly visible and by day two totally healed with no mark.

  • @danaochmanski
    @danaochmanski 4 роки тому +3

    Love the Metallica reference towards the end there!
    There is another RazoRock razor similar to this one called the “Eco” and you can use a traditional DE safety razor blade with it. The idea is to break the DE blade in half and use just one side of a blade in a razor, you bend the blade in half while it is still wrapped up in the paper to help to try to prevent cuts on your fingers.
    Cheers!

    • @livronuvem
      @livronuvem 7 місяців тому

      The Eco (and the Leaf Twig, a similar single edge) are really no different from a standard DE safety razor, they just have smaller heads and you have to rinse them more frequently because they can't be flipped around. They are great for what they are, but they don't do what the razor in this video does, for better or for worse.
      The blades this razor uses, called artist club (AC) blades, are wider and stiffer than standard DE blades, and the experience is different from a regular safety razor. Some people love AC blades, some don't, but they are a category unto themselves.

    Sinatra - Lennon:
    I have some exciting news for the Wet Shaving Community:
    (I know you have mentioned this on your channel before.)
    I had to go to Wal Mart to get groceries that I was running out of and needed.
    After Wal Mart, I just out of curiosity stopped at a WalGreens on the way home.
    I can *first hand* confirm with my own eyes that in fact Gillette HAS come out with a 2nd Safety Razor.
    It's called the "King C. Gillette Safety Razor." and its selling at $29.99 plus Tax. (USD) There's a version for the Pro Glide cartridge razor users too and it sells near the same price. There are accessories there as well, depending on your needs.
    After I got home, I called a Distributor Friend of mine who is in the Health and Beauty Products Area and he told me that Gillette is (for the 1st round) limiting the supply of the Safety Razor to gauge sales of the razor. There are more coming out to retailers when they see the 1st round results. My friend has told me many retailers and WalGreen retailers are requesting more safety razors because they are flying off the shelves fast.
    Oh, and I almost forgot..For now, no online sales of the safety razor. I've been told, that too will change. I'll pass more information along as soon as I get it...

    They now have a SS version and one w open comb. My last 2 buys from them were strange items and I just wasted $$. Have some RR outstanding items, but NOT my last 2. Cheers... Well cured hangover.... I just don't want to buy razors that need different blades and $$. Suddenly knowing that you can attach a normal head on the other side, made it more interesting. Cheers
