- My video honouring the imperial guard. the hammer of the Emperor.
Background
The Imperial Guard is the primary fighting force of the Imperium comprising tens of billions of men and women. Their power lies in their ability to deploy huge numbers of troops designed to overwhelm enemy positions by putting out enormous amounts of sustained firepower. They make use of a wide variety of weapons and vehicles and can cope with any type of battlefield situation from open field-combat to city fighting and sieges.
History
Origins of the Imperial Guard
The Imperial Guard can trace their origins back to the days of the Great Crusade, several millennia ago. It was originally known as the Imperial Army but changed its name after the Horus Heresy.
Recent History
Imperial Guard armies have fought countless wars throughout the past ten thousand years, against aliens, heretics, mutants and traitors. Most of the time the Imperial Guard have remained loyal but there have been some occasions where they have turned against the Imperium, for their own benefit or more often the benefit of others.
in service of the emperor, we find our might, our courage, and our loyalty.
The Imperial Guard is an excuse to release your inner feelings, ultimate rage in the face of untold horrors, the strongest thing a man has. A Guardsmen will fight with his helmet if he has to.
And they fight with a prayer to the Immortal Emperor in their lips. No man that dies in such a way dies in vain!
We hold the line.
We have held the line for ten thousand years.
And we will die standing.
We will hold the line.
I've been into 40K for 4 years now. Never played the tabletop. It's grown beyond that now.
I use a Dark Angel army in games but I would be proud to have the help of the imovable masses of Imperial guard at my front, sides, and a strong fall back postion to help us keep ground. Go imperial guard you are the true heroes of the day.
A war is won when no one is looking. A battle is lost with the general watching.
22nd Mortasis "Hell Troopers"
"We may jump into Hell. But we jump for the Emperor!"-Lt. Davick
The music is epic like after weeks of defending something then all of a sudden the make the last stand or a final offensive.
good job man. you are AWESOME. it just fits in so wee with the music and stuff
Man, this is such a great video! I may not play as the Imperial Guard, but this video has convinced me otherwise!
Respect the common man, who fights tainted supersoldiers, mystic space elfs, angry green people on steroids, and loads of other stuff. While also under threat of death, burned at a pyre, execution by commisar etc. While armed with his squadmates, a litebrite gun, and paper mache armor.
"I Travelled a thousand years and a thousand worlds to conquer this planet! and conquer it I will!" Lord Solar Macharius.
As I see IG are the most honorble race in Warhammeer 40k.
They are only human, not superhumans like SM or the sisters. Just pure humans.
Very good video
"It is better to die for the Emperor than to live for one's self."
It's what a Dreadnought says in the Dawn of War Games. I imagine it's not an uncommon saying in the Imperium.
It reminds of a line of text:(I think it goes like this)
I have one million soldiers under my command, 20000 tanks to deliver the emperors wrath, the mechanicum at my back. You better hope the emperor will be soft on you, cause I won't.
Woa nice vid nice job
FOR THE EMPEROR FOR HE IS MY SHIELD AND SWORD
Well sometimes when a Space Marine chapter is running low on numbers or is finding recruitments they will look to Imperial Guard members to transform into Space Marines, so thus they are not useless.
For the Immortal God Emperor of Mankind! I was going to get Space Marines as my first WH40k army, but now i might choose IG instead. Great work!
The fallen shall forever be remembered as the emperors finest
I love this vid man.. The Imperium empire is awesome - all hail the Emperor. Btw the music flows nicely and great quotes :D
For every banner, 1000 unsung heroes are laid low...
ACHTUNG DEATH CORP!! BLITZKRIEG IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR!
and a very powerful armor force.... never forget that!
i can answer that, the space marine, he fights enemies that entire armies would rather kill themselves than look upon for longer than a second. he fights without fear, he doesn't think about it. but if that doesn't convince you, who did the emperor personnaly praise in a speech... "they shall be my bulkward against the terror" he said that because he knew that normal men couldn't be trusted compltly. and he mean guardsmen can go back to their lives if the war was finnaly won by the imperium
I play IG, Steel Legion. And I love them. Been playing them for years now. Havent had to change the list much in the past 4 years. Same RTT list still place in the top 10 at most RTTs. So love IG. Dont need alot of tanks, just gaurdsmen.. troops is the strength of any army.
death metal music isn't what i was going for, i heard that a billion die every day for the emperor and it brought me back to the folly of war so i put the last samurai theme on it, and noones really complained about it
True heroes are the ones who dont seek out glory
Our brothers will jump with you, servants of the Emperor.
@wakcedout That is a point, really. Bravery is not to "Know No Fear", Bravery is "Knowing Fear And Still Go Out To Face Certain Death".
Not to mention, Marines in all their glory, but the Guard and the PDF are always First In and Last Out of every conflict. When the shit hits the fan, the PDF responds to stall for time, the Guard come to do the dirty work, the Marines do a couple of surgical strikes before moving on, and the PDF and Guard are left cleaning up the mess.
Great Vid
FOR THE EMPEROR AND FOR THE LION!!
Wow. That was really really good.
The Emperor of Mankind is the leader of the human Imperium, and Father, Guardian and God of his race. He has sat immobile within the Golden Throne of Terra for ten thousand years. Although once a living man, his shattered body can no longer support life, and remains intact only by a combination of ancient technology and the sheer force of his will, itself sustained by the soul-sacrifice of countless millions of psykers. -Lexicanum, Emperor of Mankind.
Urgh, alright. I will use quotes.
"...exuding a quiet authority that no Tau was able to resist..."
"Across the land, Ethereals emerged." I find that strange. Were they in hiding the whole time?
"They somehow managed to make the Tau negotiate." Somehow. Hmm.
"Their power over their fellow Tau is such that an Ethereal could tell a Tau to die and that Tau would do so quickly and gladly."
"In time I believe they will master the darkness within their souls." Farseer Eldrad of Ulthwe.
I have more.
awsome tribute. love the music.
The US military should hire you to do their recruiting videos. I would sign up for the guard in a heart beat after seeing that.
What I cannnot crush with words I will crush with tanks of Imperial Guard.
-Lord Commandred Solar Macharius
Tanith 1st & Only.
Finest light infantry the universe will ever know.
great vid darkangel you make some great tributes! well what to do next? (10 seconds later) FOR THE EMPEROR! *grabs las rifle*
First and Only. All hail to Gaunt's Ghosts!!!
Fight hard, my brothers and He'll know your name.
Imperial guard, the universes greatest bullet sponges
Cadia actually has a Death world for training. It's Prosan, the innermost plannet of the Cadian system.
That reminds me actually, in my GW we have a table where anyone can join the battle when ever, and there was IG against The Tyrinids, like 3000pts VS 10000pts Apocalypse, and the IG were in a fortress, they were down to 1200pts and i cracked open my case of Emperors children slaughtered half of the Nids and the IG took the rest, then we left, as we (by we i mean me and my army but still lol) respect MEN, not so much space marines ir the emperor though...
For Tanith, for the Emperor!
FIRST AND ONLY!
into the breach, into the breach once more you dogs, in to the breach
For Tanith! For Vervunhive and Belladon! For the Emperor!
Dying as an Imperial Guardsmen is a worthy death to anyone who thinks he or she is a human.
I might have said that they were a different species, but I take it back. The Warp has no limits, material or otherwise. Not to a Dark God. And that's where you're wrong. The books are setting the story now, there are a lot more of those stories than codexes.
"The point is, there's more evidence that Tzeentch created them than anything else."
This.
there has never been a sader time in mankinds history
The 5th edition points to Humanity numbering in the double digit qaudrillions.
What can beat a lasgun volley consisting hundreds of thousands of them being fired at once, backed by a regiment of hell hounds, supported by numerous Lehman Russ tanks and sentinels and finally getting bombarded by the sheer guns of dozens of basilisks?
Answer is ...nothing...
I will gladly die, if the Emperor wills it, but until then I will continue to make the enemy pay for their sacrilege.
Assuming a galaxy population of 500 trillion, and assume that only 3% of the galaxy serves in the guard (probably much higher) then there are over 15 trillion soldiers in the galaxy.
131st Pafoa Company report for duty,Sir!!!
It's mentioned at pg. 10, though it does not state it is a death world in the book. However, I believed it was classified as one at the Eye of Terror online map.
Well done awesome
If it wasent for the Emporer we would all be dead or worst. That my words.
plus the SM get all the glory as the line in this says somewhere for every battle honor a thousand die alone, unsung and unremembered... that is what the guard and PDF are men and women who fight for what they believe in not for what medal or title they will get
all the Gaunts Ghosts books are good.
now they've come out with quite a few good Imperial Guard books. just get the Imperial Guard Omnibus, lol. and everything by Dan Abnett
I'm only talking about this from the standpoint that really matters, the overall story. The "fluff" if you want to be so base. I've said this before, the Eldar could not have created the Ethereals, the power of creation lies only with the Warp and the Old Ones. And Farseer Eldrad, one of the best ever, said they might overcome the darkness in their hearts. How could they have created them? He would know. Once again, Tzeentch made them warp-resistant to protect them from the other gods.
the imperial guard ones i got mostly from the games workshop website as there is a page of artwork on each army. For my horus Heresy videos it is all scanned from the horus heresy artwork omnibus (decent scanner eh lol)
All those billions upon trillions of guardsmen.....
wow...music be any quieter? XD for a couple minutes at a time i had to crank up the volume so i could hear the sad music for the guys who deserve all the death metal music you got XD
I think space marines are the best for begginers because they're so tough and you don't need as many models to start playing (easy on the pocket factor).
i repeat he isn't fake, and the primarchs were the first space marines to be created by the emperor.
hail to the emperor! i collect the catachan jungle fighters.
come for the movie, stay for the credits...
As far as I know.
Imperial guard have the statistics the russians wish they had.
(That is the statistics to throw bodies into machine guns and hope the enemy runs out of ammo so your remaining men can charge in and engage in fisticuffs.)
Also. Imperial guardsmen have the most balls. They have armor made out of unused copies of 40K firestorm and highly energized flashlight rifles. (Watch out they use energizer batteries.)
We're looking at this from a meta-gaming standpoint as well as in-game. From what details I know, there's about as much evidence for the Tzeentch theory as there is for the Eldar one; namely, very little. The quotes you provide suggest that the Ethereals are mysterious and strange. If this is enough evidence for them being a pawn of Tzeentch, you could say the same for half the 40k galaxy.
Not to mention some things don't add up, specifically the small warp presence of the non-psychic Tau.
In the new 40K rulebook theres a example on how the imperial guard take over a renegade gone world. I laughed a bit when i saw that one line of text that said "battle plan is that the troops die slowly enough so the enemy takes longer to get there." i mean cmon xD typical imperial guard.
I believe you can claim extensive knowledge without reading the codices, I know more about 40K than most people who own one. But that's just because I'm a giant nerd who, once he get's obsessed with something, will not rest until he's discovered every little obscure detail about it.
The C'tan would obliterate the Chaos gods if they were to ever actually face off, compared to the C'tan the Chaos gods are still mere children to this universe/galaxy. It doesn't really matter though because ultimately everything will be genocidally purged by the necrons, or devoured by the tyranids.....everyone else loses. P.S. you can argue this all you'd like but if we're going by fluff it is inevtiable that either the necrons or tyranids will wipe the galaxy clean.
I think C'tan FTW sadly, last piece of fluff i read, is that combat has never lasted long enough for a Tomb World to Bear all of its force, and that some next "Level" of escalation remains unsee. However a simple Inquisition force destroying the planet before they rise seems to work well =P
yep, thx, couldn't find it anymore
It doesn't actually say that, but if you read up on the Tau, it becomes pretty obvious if you're smart.
emperor protects
I didn't say Tzeentch created the Eldar. I said he created the Ethereals. And you're wrong again, they accidentally created Slaanesh, not Tzeentch. No one actually knows when Tzeentch was formed. Just like Khorne and Nurgle.
And The 501st Bone Dragons stand with you
we've been overun!
well chaos would unfortunatly, in novel terms, one squad of space marines killed 1000 dark eldar, and 1 DE is better than 1 imperial guard.
Forward you dogs to victory
Got the SM Codex today. Seems i'll start out with those.
thanks. i think i've made the most of these types of videos for 40k (but don't count me on that).
He is actually not a God, the Great Crusade was actually started to destroy all religion, and it's clinging grasp on humanity. Yet, because of one man, it turned into the very thing it sought to destroy...
yeah but most begginers don't have cases so the high points cost means that you don't need as many troops (the easy on the pocket factor)
Death Korps of Krieg, for the Empire!!!!!
the emperor is not fake! because he is inside the imperial palace!
nearly cried
Screw space marines, I have a Chaos army because of "men" thats why i like Shrike The imperium will let billions of MEN die, so the Imperium can thrive, but shrike will always try to save these planets who are in need,
It is True the Men of the Imperial guard are the bravest in 40K and the true heroes all the space marines, orks nercrons, all strong, and there is man, facing the horrors of the Universe in flak armour and with a Lasgun, Long live the Imperial Guard!
@Alexander89dk Especially such forces on planets like Cadia, Catachan, Talarn, Krieg, and Armageddon.
I especially love the Catachan regiments since they're based off of the jungle fighters in the Vietnam war, poor bastards. Cadia is my first though, with Armageddon as my second. For the Emperor! May we hold the strength of Yarrick!
ya but the there is limitation, such as how to reuse their equipment. Guardsmen often throw the Magazines into a fire to rechage them faster but at the cost of life of the unit.
Technically no, but he keeps the Chaos Gods and Deamons at bay with his will.
Unfortunantly, Horus didnt kill him, or we would have taken over the Imperium :D
in my IG (which i no longer use but still) it was 280 men in 2500 pts
they seem shit to SOME people when they are AMAZING because most people use 30 guys and use like 5 tanks that are stupidly upgraded with everything so they have a tiny army and when one tank is destroyed they lose half their army, and they are out gunned, even in White dwarf the Apocalypse armies are normal 1500pts armies plus 5 baneblades and an armoured formation =S
its a saying but i think its more like a stealthy thing like a SAS squad goes in to sabotage while noone is watching and they take out the enemy war won or the general gives the orders and never changes them
God i wish this is what the world was like
Hm? There's a gap of 300 years between the Damocles Crusade and the 13th Black Crusade. The Third Sphere Expansion is closer, beginning only a couple of years before Abaddon's strike, but to me it only looks like the Tau taking advantage of the situation, just like they did when Behemoth attacked. A Tzeentchian plot seems kinda far-fetched based on this.
As for the Eldar I say this: the Ethereals, as far as we know are still Tau, not a whole new species. If they can't create, they could modify
The space marines were made to do the jobs that the guards men cant do
check the credits. its the last samurai theme
the lasty samurai-Hans zimmer-safe passage.
