I used dry sphag moss to suck out excess moisture from my isopod enclosure. It worked really well! Such a useful thing to have! I’m growing some live sphag I found locally on dead sphag 😂
great idea!! i wish i knew to do that before my first major outbreak 😂 it'll sit in your closet for a while but then once you need it you'll be like THANK GOD!
@@GoodandPlanty Exactly!! I just need to get fertilizer too. Spring is going to be here before we know it and I have a feeling prices are going to go up if I don't prep now ha.
Would love a video on the pros/cons of perlite and pumice! And thank you for clarifying when to use insecticide vs neem. I’ve definitely lost a few planty souls to pests when I used neem a little too late!
I'm totally with you on neem as a preventative! People always claim it doesn't work, but I feel like it works well, just not as a line of defense against a major infestation. For the big infestations I use the bonide houseplant systemic cause I don't have time for games lol. I'm down for natural remedies but when my entire collection is in jeopardy I go the bonide route. Great video! I wish I had it when I started out hahaha
you probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm you can stream all the new series on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend these days =)
I love this video!!! Yesterday I was searching for an insecticide in amazon and I was so overwhelmed! Thanks for the recommendations. Also, love your channel and your IG! Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
I don't consider myself a beginner anymore (40Plants 4years collecting) but I do believe that its always good to go back to the basics. I like videos like this as its a grounding reminder of those things that "Non-beginners" neglect as they are far to advanced . lol jk Thank you for a great video.
This was my first video from your channel, I was so overwhelmed with everything. But now I came back to it and was surprised to find that I have pretty much everything 😂
Let me start by saying that I watched this while on the elliptical..thank you for making it easier by giving me a good distraction😂 anyways, this was such an informative video that lumped so much together. I wish so much I had this video a year ago bc I wouldn’t have bought so much bs stuff and would have gotten the necessities instead. I’d be interested in seeing some of the more in-depth ideas for videos you said. Also, everyone, that shovel should be enough to make you buy those plant traps. I use mine constantly to stir up soil for air flow. It’s also adorable. As are you
you're making me want to want to work out now 😅 i'm so glad people are finding this video useful! i'd love to do more in depth videos but it makes me happy that this could be a good starting point for folks. also YES to the mini shovels. truly a favorite!
Hi ! New to your channel, loving it so far :) i just have a few plants for now and already feel overwhelmed with just the watering. Do you have a schedule,an app...to know when to do it? I definitely want to buy the moist meter. Thanks
there's a few factors that go into that but the big ones are fertilizer and lighting. usually it's ok if the plant varies in color just a little. but watch out for malnutrition or overexposure to light. hope that makes sense!
It’s good stuff to have depending on the plant, for my first year I don’t really need anything, but repotting my plant because she’s grown so much I need potting soil and since she’s growing new pot, etc. I have just two plants but I’m about to get a third, so It’ll be nice to have the neem oil on deck. Just my thoughts
depending on how you are using it, i just wait until it's sort of dried out. that's not a scientific or bottle-recommended wait time but just what i personally do...so take it with a grain of salt 😂

Once again, so helpful! I went and bought the treatment from this video. I'm on a plant high and I'm buying a lot so I need to prep in case!

it's so nice to know others agree and have similar experiences!! neem/insecticides can be a little divisive sometimes 😂

oh my gosh I love becca de la plants hehe
she's the best!! i love her channel
So I guess getting the ph balance of the water is not a need love your video thanks for sharing
personally, i don't find a huge need for it. some folks really like getting down into the nitty gritty of plant care though. thanks for watching!
Fungus gnats drive me INSANE. Just bought those sticky traps to try!
trust me you will not regret it!! 😌
omg you look beautiful in this.
stop🥺
Question 😃 how do you get your peace lily/monstera/ all your plants to look so dark green and is it better that they look a darker shade of green ?
there's a few factors that go into that but the big ones are fertilizer and lighting. usually it's ok if the plant varies in color just a little. but watch out for malnutrition or overexposure to light. hope that makes sense!
All of this necessary for plant ? becuase I’m confused 🤔 If I don’t use all of these still work?

How long after using Neem oil do you have to be careful about not burning the foliage? 24 hours?
depending on how you are using it, i just wait until it's sort of dried out. that's not a scientific or bottle-recommended wait time but just what i personally do...so take it with a grain of salt 😂
How and what do you mix it with. I have a concentrate.
the neem oil or the bonide eight?
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Is it just me or is "eyeballing the mix" stressful? I need a recipe when I cook also.🙂🤣
neem oil smells so bad it makes me gag. i bought some today and I nearly threw up I hate It so much. might throw it away from the trauma haha
sounds like you got the full experience 🤩
@@GoodandPlanty 😂 some could say that
