- Thinking about getting a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado? Not sure what the difference is between the Z71 and the ZR2?? Watch this video to find out exactly what makes them different from one another!
Anyone else notice the fender flare missing from the right rear?? I just caught that and I've seen this video three times this guy is the exact same age as me and was born and raised in the same area I'm just as big a GM nut!!!
After seeing the 2021 updates I think the 2020’s look much better

My dealership trimmed up my front air dam on my 2020 colorado z71 4x4 off road and now I don't have to take it off works great
The ZR2 looks to me like it escaped from a body shop... before a new front bumper got installed.
Excellent video, but would be nice to see under the hood with a close up on battery location, air filter and where oil filter is. Just nice to see that covered too..

Just got a zr2 2021, well worth the extra money for the formula multimac shocks, natural lift, and better interior. The resale value alone makes it worth the money. Had to spend 1500 to get catback exhaust and air intake though cause it sounds like a Jetta lmao.
Absolutely worth it!! I would choose the ZR2 as well!
But reliability is trash

Informative comparison video; good job. The Eaton g80 auto rear diff locker is an available option on wt, Lt, and standard on z71 model, and looks like the zr2 has the gm performance cat back exhuast system that's an option not standard on z71 and lower trim levels. You can also option for gears that suit you best; 3.42/ 3.73/ 4.10 gear ratios. Everytime i hear you say Zed; I feel like your talking about nissan Z cars, and thats pretty cool in some ways as i loved my 370z, and I'm also happy with my 2018 Colorado 2wd with Eaton g80 autolocker. I liked the video, and subcribed to channel; keep up the good work.

The GM cat back is a option on the ZR2. ZR2 only has 3.42 OEM, after market for 4.10 or 4.56.
THE SIX FOOT BOX IS AVAILABLE ON THE ZR2, IF YOU GET IT LIKE THAT THEN IT COMES IN EXTENDED CAB AND NOT CREW.
NO...!!! for what you are getting and the amount of extra cost, Hell NO to the ZR2...!!! Its not worth the extra cost... you can always add after market parts to a Z71 and still be way under that extra cost... The ZR2 is way over priced...
ZR2's are only for the pure off-road enthusiast.

I got the ZR2 to avoid that bluish interior! Yuck. Level the front and you can add 33”s on the ZR2. Looks way better with its 2” lift.

You must be colorblind. The interior is Grey w black. No blue anywhere. I put the 3.5 readylift on my Z71 and 33's all around. Now I've got a trailboss equivalent without ZR2 overprice.
I miss the bright red color option. The cherry red is nice, but I definitely prefer the brighter red color they used to have.

U can get the 6 foot box on the zr2 but it has to be the extended cab/ the one with the shorter cab

Kings and DSSV (and long travel Chevy Performance DSSV $$$$$) are the only options.
ZR2 is 2 inch higher than Z71 and DSSV shock. I guess that makes more comfortable for passengers who seat in the rear seats even onload driving. (of course offroad). Is that right?
because front seats are pretty good when I test drive Z71 but rear seats are not that comfortable that is why I wanna purchase ZR2 for my children in the back seats.

Do they limit the locker use like jeep does? Like can you only use it in 4 low or can you use it in 4 hi or 2 hi for the back?
front lockers can only be used in 4L and rear lockers can be used in 4H or 4L

I have a rare package on my jeep renegade. Even though it's a pretty common car it gets treated like a show car. I got a color that isn't sold anymore and the sunroof isn't a normal size one 360° view and opens at to the back. Then there's the sound system and sports package that came with it.
Was that zr2 in a wreck? Passenger bed side is missing the flare and no holes drilled for the flare so it looks like the bedside was replaced
No.. wasn’t done it’s PDI when I grabbed it.. lol
and the ZR2 has removable side flares like a jeep incase of offroad scrapes, offroad mode, heated seats, also comes in a duramax, and you get to pass all those people driving z71s in a ZR2.

Horrible? I've had my 2017 since brand new and have yet to really have any complaints about it

If that’s the Midnight Edition ZR2 isn’t it missing the bars in the back and the off-road lights? My brother just bought a 2021 ZR2 Midnight Edition and it’s essentially the same truck but it has the bars with the ZR2 badge on both sides plus the off-road lights on top. Additionally all the Chevrolet and ZR2 badging + the the wheels are black, hence the Midnight Edition name.
I can only speak for the ZR2 because I own one. The lightbar is an option with the black wheels. That might just be an odd package on that Z 71.

I was wondering the same thing, I just bought the 2020 midnight edition Z71. The only reason I can see that would make it hard is the Z71 has fog lights and the ZR2 doesn’t
