Tarje didn’t write it, Tuomas did, like all songs. But Tarja sang it for sure. The reason why it hadn’t been played live for such a long time is that Anette couldn’t sing it. But Floor can!
Tuomas writes the songs with the lead singer in mind. I totally agree, Anette wouldn't have been able to pull it off...it's not in her wheelhouse.

@@-R-884 It was one of the points of contention that led to Tarja being kicked out of the band. She never participated in the songwriting process, she only sang what was presented to her, and her manager still wanted a larger share of the revenue, even though there was a clear sharing agreement. A sound engineer is said to have said that Floor had already worked more on the songs during the recording of her first album with Nighwish than her predecessors had in all the years combined.
Amen; we know that when we assume that just makes ass-U-ME! I often hear that a singer can sing a phone book, but not really! Except, Floor can sing a phone book! Floor is the G.O.A..T. IMHO.

Tarja didn't write this song, Tuomas did. Tuomas writes 99% of Nightwish's music, but yeah this song was written when Tarja was in the band.
To think Tuomas was 21 when he wrote this, Gethsemane and Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean.... It's actually ridiculous!!
Floor does a magnificent job with this one, which was, indeed, written for Tarja. For on you haven't done yet, I suggest 10th Man Down - Live in Buenos Aires 2018 - Decades Tour. Floor and Marko capture the emotions in this song so well.
Yeah, this is realy a fun tune, and Floor is nailing it, all of them are. Next one? It does't realy matters, ALL of them are excellent.
Everything Queen Floor touches turns to gold. Any Nightwish performance you watch is going to be awesome. But one of my favorites is Weak Fantasy from this same concert. I started watching music reactions specifically because of Nightwish. Especially reactors very first time seeing the band.

Yes, this is a Tarja era song. It was off the setlist for so long because Anette was not able to sing it.
Yes, more recent than Wacken 2013. This concert and Wembley are during the world tour in 2015 after they made the first album with Floor.
Great reaction! And you're right, Tuomas wrote this song for Tarja but Floor really did an amazing job! This is from the Endless Forms Most Beautiful World Tour concert in Tampere in 2015. So 9 years ago 😮 You could check out Elan, My Walden, Weak Fantasy, Endless Forms Most Beautiful or Alpenglow from this very concert or the ones I already suggested under your last Ayreon video (except for Stargazers now, of course 😊)

The one and only Floor ♥
It is a Tarja era song, from the 2nd album Oceanborn in 1998. This show was Tampere 2015, it hadn't been played since before the breakup with Tarja. One of the songs that got put away when Anette joined, as the operatic style isn't in her wheelhouse. Floor is very good at the style, and the song fit in with the themes of the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album, themes of science and reason.
Next, check out a song with Tarja singing, try their cover of "Phantom of the Opera" ot the Nighwish original "The Siren". Both live from the 2005 Helsinki concert (End of an Era DVD). Marko sings with Tarja in both.

Floor is 1,84m , almost 6'1 . 6' its 1,82m and 6'1" its 1,85m , but on stage she usually use 4 or 5 inches high heals. 🤘🤘

I remember when I heard this song for the first time in -99. At the same time, Nightwish for the first time. I noticed that this is what was missing in my life! And still my favorite songs.
Floor is not trying to copy Tarja’s style; Floor is sounding like Floor. She sang in this style quite a lot when she was in After Forever, less so with Nightwish.

How about the acoustic version of "How's the Heart?" at Planet Rock? Floor + Troy it's an astounding combo! You'll hear a Nightwish song with a bare bone arrangement... it's definetely an experience!
This just great prime Tarja-era symphonic power metal, love it.
If you dig this style of song, my biggest recommendation has to be “Planet Hell”
There are others too, like “Kinslayer”, “Wishmaster” and “the Siren”
Enjoyed your reaction! This song made it on to the Endless Forms Most Beautiful playlist as part of a deal between Floor and Tuomas. Floor wanted to add Sleeping Sun to the setlist as it is one of her favorites. I think Tuomas has a complex relationship with the song because he wrote at the request of their then German record label as part of some marketing around the total solar eclipse in Europe in 1999. Tuomas agreed to add Sleeping Sun if he got to add Stargazers and that's how this song made the setlist.
Next Nightwish I would recommend Music, the opening song of Human Nature. I love the whole album it would definitely be worth hearing all of the album track by track. Bonus is that because the album dropped right before the pandemic and they couldn't tour in support so there are lyric videos for each song. Also there are some YT shorts where a band member introduces the lyric video as they were dropped.

He only sang on a few songs of the first album and after that always used guest male singers on the albums until Marko joined the band. Tarja did not write anything on Nightwish. Marco and Emppu Have writen something and Jukka Have Been with The athors. Almost everything are writen by Tuomas. But Tuomas Have writen that For Tarja to sing. As he now writes The songs For Floor.

No worries - you still have a lot you haven't heard. Just realized you haven't reacted to "Noise" - their headline song for the Human:ll:Nature album and tour. Its also a fantastic video to react, but I offer you a live double whammy from the latest festival tour. Its "Noise" and a good oldie "Planet Hell" back to back from Deichbrand 2022. You can thank me later. I know you will be tempted to watch the whole show, but Noise and Planet Hell are the first two songs of this great concert. And I dare anyone to watch this show and say "Well Nightwish peaked back in 2015", or "..2018". They ARE at the top of their game and I cant wait for them to come back live.

Yes, this song was the Nightwish I know and what I miss. Definitely best jig were I haveen was in Tampere (From Wishes to Eternity). We all were then young and full passion. I miss those times and I miss that band that is not exist anymore.

You're cornering yourself, Dude. There's well more than 20 some odd Nightwish videos. Check out the "Video" videos. Nemo, Amaranth, While You're Lips are Still Red, Over the Hills and Far Away are some of my favorites. One recommendation, don't check out the on-stage performances with Anette. They're not the best. I'd go back and start from the beginning if I was in your place. Mostly, because Nightwish has become a Floor showcase band. The music, the overall band's sound was far richer before Floor. Plus, the earlier stuff had a bit of a Thrash sound that was lost too. I liked that you did, High Hope, other good covers that they have are Walking in the Air, Megadeth's Symphony of Destruction, and as I said before, Over the Hills and Far Away by Gary Moore. You can't go wrong with Nightwish. Take your pick and have fun. And don't worry about sounding repetitive either. When a band has Awesomed the Awesome out of all the Awesomenesses, what more is there to say but, "The Awesome band is Awesome.".
Try a dose of good 'ol Tarja's era and do "Swanheart" live but do the one with the gorgeous Crimson Tide intro [ua-cam.com/video/pS0OUENEOrk/v-deo.html]. Cheers!!!

Tarja wrote nothing. Tuomas wrote for Tarja's style of vocals. And for Anette's. Now he writes whatever he likes because Floor can sing it. She obviously decided to sing this in this style as an homage to Tarja as she usually brings more versatility to her songs.
