Arjen has been working with over 120 of the top musicians and singers from all over the world. He found Floor in 2000 and her sister Irene some years later. Arjer is a genuine genius on the same level as Tuomas from Nightwish. Russel Allen and Floor are also long time friends, and have made some mind blowing duets - like Phantom of the Opera & Sweet Curse.
What's amazing to me is the quality of musicians from the small country of the Netherlands. Arjen, Floor, Simone, Irene, Joost, Dianne van Giersbergen, Annette Van Giersbergen, all the members of Epica and on and on. And all these European musicians know each other and are willing to work together.

OK, now we have to add a third female singer to really set your head a-spinning. Brittney Slayes of Unleash the Archers, a Canadian power metal band. The interesting bit is that Brittney has started to work with Arjen on his projects and not that long ago went to the Netherlands to sing her Ayreon song "Fate of Man" and some of Floor's parts as well. The funny part of that was Arjen asked her to take over a female singer's role as she was unavailable (Floor's pregnancy). Brittney said yes, then Arjen dropped the little tidbit that she would be replacing Floor. GULP! was her reaction. Now isn't that a teaser, a singer that Arjen thinks can stand in for Floor, and ya, she nailed it. Check out Star One, "Fate of Man" and as an added bonus, it features a solo by Micheal Romeo. BTW, Brittney has had classical voice lessons since the age of 8 and has sung in an award winning university choir. There's also a cute interview of Arjen where he discovers Brittney by listening to a very amateur YT video from a phone of a Karaoke bar recording of Brittney going ham on "Queen of the Reich" after a gig in Edinburg, Scotland. Rumour has it that the bar had to close down for the rest of the night.

Ayreon is a massive rabbit hole. Arjen is one of the best story teller/composer in the world. This whole album is fkin great! Aaaaaand... Every Ayreon show is awesome. The quality, the musicians, the singers... Mind blowing! Just a few suggestion: from Universe show is the Valley of the Queens (with 3 Queens😂), Everybody dies and Ride the comet (but the full concert is amazing and cant fail with any reaction video), and The sixth extinction from the 01011001 show. So easy to get lost in Arjen's music world 😂
On his youtube channel he does a lot, and i mean a lot of live studio shows.. and interacts with everyone.. Pretty Amazing Guy. He also sings on the Lebanese Prog Band call Ostura, Album called The room.. That entire album is Fire.
Arjen Lucassen, always make concept album when it comes to Ayreon, he also got other bands like Star one, where it can be seperate songs, however last Star one album, all have songs that represent a movie about time travel!! This one we listen to here is from the album the Source!! If yo like good concept albums, Ayreon is surely one to check out more, and i highly recomed to listen to the albums from start to finish, as it is a story going on!! i will say you can pick out songs to listen to, but at some point you need to listen to the albums, from start to finnish!! If you watch some of the older Star One project of Arjen performed live, you'll see the very young Jansen sisters perform as main and backup singers :) Looking forward to seing more Ayreon live performances reactions! This would've been the only one I would've suggested to watch the music vid over the live production.

Prog rock/metal opera project, Arjen started it in 1995. Mostly a studio project, they have put together a number of live shows, the most recent was last fall in The Netherlands, where they pulled off this song for the first time, although without Floor as she was on maternity break. His albums are concept albums, telling a story across multiple records, with a singer for each character. TDTTWBD is the first song on the album, The Source, and is chronologically the first in the story arc. Mike Mills character is a machine, the binary he sings translates to Trust Th-1, Th for his band Toehider. The guy on the piano is Sir Joost van der Broek, he is basically Arjen's right hand man, he does a lot of the work on the live shows. Brittney Salyes(Hayes) from Unleash the Archers sang a lot of Floor's parts in the last live show. If you're not yet familiar with UTA, check out "Awakening" (full band playthrough. Ands for more Ayreon, "Everybody Dies" from the Ayreon Universe 2017 show. Or "The Sixth Extinction" and "Fate of Man" , both from (01011001 - Live Beneath The Waves) 2023.

Yes, this blows your mind. Arjen Lucassen is entering the building. Please explore the Rabbit Hole that is Arjen Lucassen, or should I say Ayreon. The guy is a master composer, if not THE master composer of prog rock. He is pumping out musical jewelry for 30 years now. And he is a very very nice guy and a joy to work with. Only problem: he is not in a band. Well, no problem at all. The world top musicians and singers adore working and cooperating with him. I am talking about people like Steve Vai etc. The list of famous people cooperating in Ayreon projects is mindblowing, I can assure you that. Last year I visited the " live beneath the waves concert 01011001". 25 main singers on stage. Yep, 25.... In the audience more than 60 nationalities from the world over, from Australia to South America, all came to the Netherlands to visit a concert from Ayreon. They did five concerts that were sold out in literally 5 minutes each. I can only advice you to listen to that live beneath the waves concert, or any project Arjen did. Like Nightwish he doesn't do bad songs. O, by the way, Floor and Simone and Anneke are regulars in his projects, and you can even encounter Marko from Nightwish... A lot to discover...and what a beautiful journey this is. Is Arjen the 21th century Mozart? I guess so.... Together maybe with Tuomas from Nightwish and Steven Wilson from Porcupine tree...You can rise up a winner stand for those three and decide for yourself who is number one, two or three... But extremely talented they are....
Ayreon's music is such a wonderful rabbit hole to fall down. I'd suggest a couple of tracks to try: 'Into the Black Hole' live from Ayren Universe ( ua-cam.com/video/LIvnxsb83No/v-deo.html ) and 'Intergalactic Space Cusaders, again a live track from Ayreon Universe ( ua-cam.com/video/yO6TisCHGhA/v-deo.html ). From what i got after all your videos: Northward will kill you. I would start with "While Love Died" followed by "Drifting Islands". But the guitar riffs in every song will blow your mind. It's the most underrated Floor project.

"Dont tell Floor"... Bruh... You have no idea hiw much I relate to that. I was head over heals in love with Simone More or less from age 14 to 24. "Im sorry, Im so sorry, Please dont tell Tarja and Sharon" was the only thought rolling around in my teenage brain for almost a decade.

" Who wasn't on that song ? " - the list is almost endless - but if you want to see just a few of the other artists he works with then you should check out some of the live videos ! The live shows are VERY few and far between , for the obvious logistical reason of getting a plethora of worldwide superstars in the one place at the one time but such is the respect they have for Arjen they all turn up from time to time ( and have a blast ) . It's a rabbit hole that once you venture down it you'll wonder how you managed for all these years without it - ENJOY !

However that did not materialize because of a fall out between Arjen Lucassen and Dickinson's management... But there is one studio recording out there of Ayreon with Bruce Dickinson (and some people say it is Dickinson's best work...) It is called into the black hole, and there is a great remastered studio version from 2022 on YT.

You need to check out Within Temptation next. They're another Dutch synphonic metal band with a female singer. Before there was Simone and Floor, there was Sharon. Their music changes a bit over the years, with the earlier having a more gothic feel. Check out the live version of Our Solemn Hour from the Black Symphony. It features a full orchestra. You won't be disappointed.
If you love Floor so much, you should check out “Monolith of Doubt” by After Forever. And "Dreamflight". And... OK, there's a handful.😁 If you like male singers who can hit crazy high notes without going into falsetto, you should check out Solitude Aeturnus. Their music is an acquired taste (epic doom metal), but their singer Robert Lowe was one of the best in metal back in the 90’s.
Absolutely! Dreamflight live from the Prog Power show is unbelievable. Not a ton of great live recordings of After Forever are out there unfortunately, but this is certainly one of them.

Arjen asked Bruce Dickinson to sing one of his songs which Bruce happily did it's called Into the Black hole. Bruce never performed this live which is a pity. Arjen had made the mistake of getting to excited that he went to social media and started telling everybody about Bruce performing for him. Bruce's managers found out and where not impressed that they wern't informed first. So that created a small rift. Arjen would love to have Bruce show up and perform this live but unstead he's used a few other frontmen for this. OK, now we have to add a third female singer to really set your head a-spinning. Brittney Slayes of Unleash the Archers, a Canadian power metal band. The interesting bit is that Brittney has started to work with Arjen on his projects and not that long ago went to the Netherlands to sing her Ayreon song "Fate of Man" and some of Floor's parts as well. The funny part of that was Arjen asked her to take over a female singer's role as she was unavailable (Floor's pregnancy). Brittney said yes, then Arjen dropped the little tidbit that she would be replacing Floor. GULP! was her reaction.
Now isn't that a teaser, a singer that Arjen thinks can stand in for Floor, and ya, she nailed it. Check out Star One, "Fate of Man" and as an added bonus, it features a solo by Micheal Romeo. BTW, Brittney has had classical voice lessons since the age of 8 and has sung in an award winning university choir.
There's also a cute interview of Arjen where he discovers Brittney by listening to a very amateur YT video from a phone of a Karaoke bar recording of Brittney going ham on "Queen of the Reich" after a gig in Edinburg, Scotland. Rumour has it that the bar had to close down for the rest of the night.

Ayreon is a massive rabbit hole. Arjen is one of the best story teller/composer in the world. This whole album is fkin great! Aaaaaand... Every Ayreon show is awesome. The quality, the musicians, the singers... Mind blowing! Just a few suggestion: from Universe show is the Valley of the Queens (with 3 Queens😂), Everybody dies and Ride the comet (but the full concert is amazing and cant fail with any reaction video), and The sixth extinction from the 01011001 show. So easy to get lost in Arjen's music world 😂

The Mike Mills part is the most amazing thing I have ever seen a musician do.
On his youtube channel he does a lot, and i mean a lot of live studio shows.. and interacts with everyone.. Pretty Amazing Guy. He also sings on the Lebanese Prog Band call Ostura, Album called The room.. That entire album is Fire.

Prog rock/metal opera project, Arjen started it in 1995. Mostly a studio project, they have put together a number of live shows, the most recent was last fall in The Netherlands, where they pulled off this song for the first time, although without Floor as she was on maternity break. His albums are concept albums, telling a story across multiple records, with a singer for each character. TDTTWBD is the first song on the album, The Source, and is chronologically the first in the story arc. Mike Mills character is a machine, the binary he sings translates to Trust Th-1, Th for his band Toehider.
The guy on the piano is Sir Joost van der Broek, he is basically Arjen's right hand man, he does a lot of the work on the live shows.
Brittney Salyes(Hayes) from Unleash the Archers sang a lot of Floor's parts in the last live show. If you're not yet familiar with UTA, check out "Awakening" (full band playthrough.

Yes, this blows your mind. Arjen Lucassen is entering the building. Please explore the Rabbit Hole that is Arjen Lucassen, or should I say Ayreon. The guy is a master composer, if not THE master composer of prog rock. He is pumping out musical jewelry for 30 years now. And he is a very very nice guy and a joy to work with. Only problem: he is not in a band. Well, no problem at all. The world top musicians and singers adore working and cooperating with him. I am talking about people like Steve Vai etc. The list of famous people cooperating in Ayreon projects is mindblowing, I can assure you that.
Last year I visited the " live beneath the waves concert 01011001". 25 main singers on stage. Yep, 25.... In the audience more than 60 nationalities from the world over, from Australia to South America, all came to the Netherlands to visit a concert from Ayreon. They did five concerts that were sold out in literally 5 minutes each. I can only advice you to listen to that live beneath the waves concert, or any project Arjen did. Like Nightwish he doesn't do bad songs. O, by the way, Floor and Simone and Anneke are regulars in his projects, and you can even encounter Marko from Nightwish... A lot to discover...and what a beautiful journey this is.
Is Arjen the 21th century Mozart? I guess so.... Together maybe with Tuomas from Nightwish and Steven Wilson from Porcupine tree...You can rise up a winner stand for those three and decide for yourself who is number one, two or three... But extremely talented they are....

The live shows are VERY few and far between , for the obvious logistical reason of getting a plethora of worldwide superstars in the one place at the one time but such is the respect they have for Arjen they all turn up from time to time ( and have a blast ) .

By the way: Arjen did work with Bruce Dickinson. They even planned to put out a whole album. However that did not materialize because of a fall out between Arjen Lucassen and Dickinson's management... But there is one studio recording out there of Ayreon with Bruce Dickinson (and some people say it is Dickinson's best work...) It is called into the black hole, and there is a great remastered studio version from 2022 on YT.

You need to check out Within Temptation next. They're another Dutch synphonic metal band with a female singer. Before there was Simone and Floor, there was Sharon. Their music changes a bit over the years, with the earlier having a more gothic feel. Check out the live version of Our Solemn Hour from the Black Symphony. It features a full orchestra. You won't be disappointed.

Arjen asked Bruce Dickinson to sing one of his songs which Bruce happily did it's called Into the Black hole. Bruce never performed this live which is a pity. Arjen had made the mistake of getting to excited that he went to social media and started telling everybody about Bruce performing for him. Bruce's managers found out and where not impressed that they wern't informed first. So that created a small rift. Arjen would love to have Bruce show up and perform this live but unstead he's used a few other frontmen for this.
