      @keith-knittel  3 роки тому +1

      @@user-dh5fp4gw1b that's a really good question, and I have no idea the answer to it. I haven't experienced any dropouts in the same room. This is probably dependant on your device's wifi range as you're using your device's wifi to connect to the RavenEye's wifi. So depending on how well your device can pick up that connection? I'll have to test that out with my iPhone!

    how would you mount a microphone to this, just on top of the camera or is there a suitable clamp to go on the side?

    • @keith-knittel
      @keith-knittel  3 роки тому

      You can mount a small mic to the top and balance your camera from there, but you probably wont be able to go into underslung mode. You can get some NATO adapters to mount to the side of the gimbal (on the left/right sides of the screen). I used a NATO handle with cold shoe mounts on the end to mount to the side of the gimbal, but the mobility of the gimbal will be limited. I might add these to a future video!

    Now that you've had a little more time playing around with the RS2, would you be able to tell me if there's the following feature?
    Does the RS2 have the Motionlapse? Also, can we save more than one track as presets?
    I'm trying to see if it's possible to shoot the same scene with exactly the same gimbal motion more than once over and over, for example, the same shot both in the daytime and nighttime...
    I won't be using it as a timelapse obviously, just 10-15 second shots

    Hey I was finding bit annoying with this gamble. Most of the other UA-camrs are demonstrating how easy to set up and to use. But as a real wedding and documentry cinematographer I like to say there are many down falls wile I use. When you fix a on camera pro mic like Rode or shure vp 83f etc you will not balance as that easy. Also when you are using canon R5/6 or Sony Alpha mirrorless bodies with revaneye, see how many cables are fixed to the body where the LCD will be blocked for top and low angle monitoring. So if some one can do a honest demonstration with using on camera mic (what is very essential for most of Weddings and event coverages) it will be very helpful for many Videographers out there. Cheers

      Tighter focal lengths like that are tough, make sure to adjust your active track setting. I’ve found some good results with lower sensitivity with 35mm+ lenses. That being said, wider is definitely easier to get steady footage. Thanks for watching and the kind words!

    Hey Keith, just subscribed to your channel! Was wondering if there's a way to use the raven eye without having deal with the app?? I film weddings and need a run and gun style without having to deal with a phone. I started with the original zhiyun crane and felt the need to upgrade! I'm also a fan of the arm handles and got them to distribute the weight since I'll be on my gimbal all day. Also how has the battery life been so far? Just from playing around with it in the house I'm already down to 70%. Thanks and I look forward to more content from you bro!!!!!!!!

      Thanks for the support! You can, at 6:35 in this video I go over how to use Active Track without your phone! I'd love to get the twist grip handles for the RS2 but they're sold out (along with the 3D focus). Battery life is good if you're not using the RavenEye - but if you're using the RavenEye the battery life is significantly lower. I unplug the RavenEye if I'm not using it. I have two RS2 units, both show Error 1009 upon doing a Gimbal Self Check, after a successful Calibration and Balance (Excellent on all three axes). It does not always fail, but fails enough for me to not count on it working correctly. I've sent them both the DJI for 'repair' and they replaced them both after finding the faults. Now both of the replacement units yield the same Error 1009. I'm mystified that four of four fail for me and I do not see that others are having the same issues. Any recommendations? Thanks

      Hey there Bob, I'm not sure as I've never had an Error 1009 before, what is this error? Does the gimbal not work? Or does the calibration not work? Sorry to hear that, wish I could help more but I've never ran into this error

The Unit seems to work, but I've not yet put them to work, fearing of a malfunction. I get to the test, not with the App, but with the RS2 screen by swiping right to left, then up until I see and choose More, then I select Gimbal Self Check. When/if my fails, it does so prior to reaching 20% . Thanks

    So we got internal active track now, great...
    Now I wonder how long it will take the clever people at DJI to realize that we need a rule of thirds option in the tracking mechanism in order to make it remotely useful.
    So lets have 9 dots to choose from as to where the face/object track should be put.. like lower, middle, upper, left, center and right.
    Now if you wanna be real fancy, let the face tracker auto default to upper thirds and based on which way the head is turning, it tracks slightly to the left or to the right of the center..
    comeon DJI show me you are the best! you can doooo it.. good boy.
