I felt the same way. It’s clear DJI is instructing people to push the RS2 due to much larger profit margins. He still didn’t adrress whether there is advantages with the RS2 stabalization.. everyone is Ignoring how brilliant it is to drop to briefcase and still have your controls accessible
Hello Brandon, I can not believe DJI did not include their "3D Focus System" that works with the RS2 for you to evaluate. Your energetic shooting style would be a perfect match for their amazing step forward that enables manual focus photo lenses and cinema style manual lenses to become accurate autofocus lenses. I believe it is a massive game changer for gimbal users and the accessibility to lenses it opens up with Cinema Primes makes the purchase of a DJI RS2/ 3D Focus System a complete no brainer. I hope they get one into your hands asap so we can see it ran thru it's paces at real world energetic speeds like you shoot. The 3D Focus System is lens/camera agnostic so all us suffering Panasonic shooters have hope on the horizon. Making my Cine Style Primes and MFT Anamorphic lenses autofocus capable is worth the price of admission when coupled with such a capable gimbal like the RS2. Please call DJI back and tell them to let you evaluate the 3d Focus System with the RS2 (it does not work with the RSC2).
I thought the same. If there's someone who'd I trust to watch a gimbal review is Brandon :D Really looking forward to upgrading my oldie Zhyiun 1 for the rsc2 :D
I feel like DJI told influencers not to compare these gimbals to other ones. Most of the big UA-camrs I’ve seen only talk about the dji ronin to this one. But nothing on how it compares to zhiyun or other companies. Either way I always love his reviews!

Brandon Li.. best gimbal reviewer and operator on the planet... and possibly the universe. Thx for this informative and helpful review. It has helped me make an informed decision on which to buy. Keep em coming!
For the RSC 2, there is a hole on top of the opened handle(as seen in 9:53) where you can screw the tripod handle in upside down, to use the gimble as briefcase mode, it's a lot more stable. Also, like the RS2, you can actually use activetrack without a phone by pressing the trigger button once, but you just can't see what you're tracking. It will just track whatever subject in the middle. You still need raveneye turned on and HDMI cable connected.
So bro you are telling me the rsc 2 is better, as I need a confirmation before buying as I will use it for wedding videography, when available reply to me bro😊
One of the better reviews I've seen so far on the RS2 and RSC2 so far, great job. I had already purchased the RSC2 as a first Gimbal for myself, and have yet to receive it, your review added some additional info I was looking for. Thanks!
Definitely the most comprehensive review(s) I've seen. And certainly your word carries a lot more weight than a lot of other gimbal operators. There’s one really valuable feature in the Zhiyun gimbals that I would really like to see DJI add: the ability to hold the trigger down when in Pan Follow mode, and twinkle the trigger is held, you can tilt the camera. For most of my shooting, I like Pan Follow, but occasionally during a shot, I need to tilt up or down, and the joystick is just not as good as this temporary switch to Pan Tilt Follow mode. Otherwise I am very happy with my Ronin RSC 2.
Seems for the Fuji X T3 the Primes are not fully compatible. At least not yet. Can not make the autofocus trigger work on the 16 1.4 and 56 1.2. The focus pulling does seem to work.

Wow empty plane brought back memories of a flight I took back in the early 1970s. Only 29 passengers on plane. People were afraid of flying due to hijackings and bombings. The stewardesses had very little to do they asked if I wanted to play cards with them. So we played and drank wine. Best flight I ever had.
Great review, nice and detailed and covers pretty much all the bases. Very helpful the way you summed up and asked whether or not each individual should get this or not at the end too. It's hard to remember everything you hear in a 25-minute video. Thanks so much.
You CAN set the ease in/out in the menu low/medium/high/custom, also you CAN lock the touch screen so you're not fat fingering it. The Battery defiantly takes longer than an hour & 1/2 to fully charge from zero... mine was on the charger for over 2 hours and it still wasn't done.
@@BrandonLiUnscripted thought you were talking about the ease overall. Both the joystick and the active tracking have ease (smoothness) control. As for the point to point tracking function it seems like there s a preset ease out on the end point, not so much on the start, and it's not dictated by the mode selection settings you're using
You need a 24W fast charger to take full advantage of the fast charging capabilities. For example, a standard iPhone charger is only going to charging at 5W.
Really well done. Would love to see a video that drills down regarding the stiffness and speed settings to help people better understand when they should be used and how they can improve their work. Thank you for all the information here. Happy New Year!
Thanks for being the first you tuber to actually state that the RSC2 can produce extremely stable footage. Having watched all the paid reviews from influencers one has to wonder if DJI asked everyone to push the RS2. Because it’s seemingly all about it in terms of footage.. except for you.. mentioning that with the a7siii the RSC2 is capable.. now you didn’t address whether there is differences between them so again, I suspect that is a requirement of your ad agreement. Also in the end you talk about all the features the rs2 has, but fail to mention the rsc2 also has the focus wheel, and actually it’s recongiguration capacity allows for brief case mode with no external parts needed AND keeps all controls on the hand. As well it allows for portrait mode with one button for Social media content. These are not insignificant things. I hope in future video you will compare the actual stabalization especially as lenses get heavier
One of main reasons for going with the rsc2 is the ability to portrait without any additional parts for my clients, The ease of briefcase, focus with usb, and active track with trigger press are all icing on the cake.
The crane has tracking without raveneye i think, with a simple smartphone. This important feature is gone on the new ronin rsc2. It was on the Ronin rsc 1st version, but very difficult to balance with the phone on top. Now with rsc2 You absolutely need the raveneye not included in the hefty price. More reliable probably but expensive. Am i wrong?
the LIDAR module works really well (need fully manual lenses with hard stops, no focus by wire) - range goes from 1M -> 4M and at moment only would appear to be centre lock on.. but works better in really low light conditions than even a Sony A7Siii's under exposed AF tracking
I get tired after using any gimbal in the past, but the Weebil S kinda solved that problem for me. But that's just me and the way I shoot, everyone is different I guess
Very thorough review. Nice camera work! I was gonna get the RSC2, but after this I can finally see the clear differences I'm going with the RS2. I would have loved to seen a demonstration of the Timelapse mode. If I could have a gimbal that can do motion control timelapse I could save so much space in the Jeep... or airplane.
Travel is a primary thing for me. I'm having a hard time figuring out which unit actually gets more compact. With the detachable handle, is the RS2 actually more convenient to stuff in a bag / pelican case than the RSC2? Also, do you think there is a difference between the two in looking more discreet (drawing less attention) when shooting in public areas? I see the red line on the RS2, but to a passerby, do you think they look the same size? When using them, do they feel / seem like the same size or noticeably different?
I watched the whole video as soon as I got the notification. Ur review is so awesome. after watching ur review I feel like I already owned these gimbals lol
Hey Brandon can you share your custom lock setting for the RS2? I really need to know how to lock the gimbal without having to hold the lock button. Thank you for all of your teachings! Super helpful.
Hi Brandon, thanks for the in-depth and honest review! I bought the RSC 2 directly from your link as upgrade to my zhiyun crane plus. And I'm looking so forward to this upgrade.
I definitely love the RSC2. And this over month of using it. I mainly use it with the A6600 and a Sigma 16mm or the A7iv and a 35mm. For these combinations its great!
Now, what they need is to allow a clean HDMI out of the Ronin app. I've installed Ronin app on my DJI Smart Controller and I can see the RavenEye appear on the Smart Controller and the Smart Controller has a HDMI output. Now... if Ronin app gave a clean HDMI out (no overlays) then I could connect the smart controller HDMI to my ATEM and have a wireless camera feed. Most obvious use would be for gimbal work on a live stream. Might be a little more latency but could be very usable.
Thank you Brandon you always deliver, finally a professional review; I can't stand a lot of these youtubers that only do the review to get paid but you learn nothing from their videos.
Yet another awesome review from someone that I value as a filmmaker than anyone else on UA-cam. Furthermore, I hope your valuable feed back will get picked up by DJI to improve as suggested. Thanks :)
Great overview. If @DJI is listening, please come out with a slider with pan motor. Along with the universal base mount, that would be AMAZING for 3 axis slider moves with focus adjust.
Thanks for the video. A lot of good information. You said that you could use Raven Eye and view the a7Siii rear screen at the same time. However, when I connect the Raven Eye to the a7Siii, my rear screen goes black. Do you have any idea what I have set wrong?
Bro thank you so much for really sharing this and getting to the point. I find myself speeding up most of the youtube videos because they are filled with a bunch of nonsense. You get my like and a new sub.
Which is better ? I am being told they’re the same except for payload differences. Is stability really that different? I have a budget tor either but I’m confused! I am starting out in film but I also don’t want to feel the need to buy different later on.
Amazing video and I'm glad I found out your channel so I suscribed. This custom mode of turning off or on tilt, roll or panaxis and make combinations is on both gimbals or only in rs2?
I'd like to hear more about potential problems. Like, how about the infamous deadband problems where it's impossible to make tiny pans, or where it won't return to center?
Three questions: 1; Can you use the focus motor to control the zoom ring? 2. can the Rsc2 carry my eos r6 with a ef 70-200 (wont be getting the the smaller rf 70-200 anytime soon. Too expensive) And 3: I forgot the last question..
I thought in-camera (body or lens) stabilization (IBIS) was a big no no when you're on a gyro, because they would fight each other, and make framing the shot difficult. When should you use it and when not? FYI; I try to use Zeiss Batis glass on the a7Siii whenever I can. Thanks! Love your vids.
Sorry if you answered this in the video but, I own an RS2 and was wondering if I can operate it with the pan axis locked... actually I was just doing it but Im scared if that will mess up the pan axis motor over time.. I know the R2 has an accessory external lock for the pan axis
Hi Brandon. Great, informative video. One quick question: when I use the Raven Eye with my a7s iii, I can't seem to have the video feed on my phone AND a7s iii screen at the same time. It seems to be one or the other. Do you know what Menu selection or configuration I am missing to allow for the video to be on both screens? You seem to have worked this out. Thank you for sharing the video!

Hey Brandon can you share your custom lock setting for the RS2? I really need to know how to lock the gimbal without having to hold the lock button. Thank you for all of your teachings! Super helpful.
Zipline mount sounds awesome. Combining that with preprogrammed pan or even autotrack could create some crazy creative possibilities.
Zip lines are very slow to set up though and are prone to shake
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Well, if anyone can do it then it's you! 😉
When it comes to gimbals, brandon is the man! Great review and thanks for the work!
Hi Brandon, thanks for the in-depth and honest review!
I bought the RSC 2 directly from your link as upgrade to my zhiyun crane plus. And I'm looking so forward to this upgrade.
What are you going to do when your battery will not keep its charge in few years?
@@SuperSuperka buy a new one I think.
Hi Martin. I have also crane plus ,and i want now upgrade, but idont know which one...RS2 or RSC2...Do you recommended RSC2 after 1 year? :)
I definitely love the RSC2. And this over month of using it.
I mainly use it with the A6600 and a Sigma 16mm or the A7iv and a 35mm. For these combinations its great!
@@martindoersch Thanks! I think i'll buy it for my A7III :)
Best RS2 review on UA-cam
Now, what they need is to allow a clean HDMI out of the Ronin app. I've installed Ronin app on my DJI Smart Controller and I can see the RavenEye appear on the Smart Controller and the Smart Controller has a HDMI output. Now... if Ronin app gave a clean HDMI out (no overlays) then I could connect the smart controller HDMI to my ATEM and have a wireless camera feed. Most obvious use would be for gimbal work on a live stream. Might be a little more latency but could be very usable.
My god my gimbal movements truly suck! Just watching how fluid your movements are amazes me. Thanks for the review.
thinking of buying rc2, and I just joined your gimbal masterclass its dope!
Thank you Brandon you always deliver, finally a professional review; I can't stand a lot of these youtubers that only do the review to get paid but you learn nothing from their videos.
Awesome video! Queston: does the RSC2 also have custom "tilt follow" as well I use this feature a ton and would be awesome!
Yes you can program custom on rsc2 for tilt only
Yet another awesome review from someone that I value as a filmmaker than anyone else on UA-cam. Furthermore, I hope your valuable feed back will get picked up by DJI to improve as suggested. Thanks :)
The most educated review by the most experienced gimbal user.
Great overview.
If @DJI is listening, please come out with a slider with pan motor. Along with the universal base mount, that would be AMAZING for 3 axis slider moves with focus adjust.
3rd party sliders are being developed to use with rs 2 as motion control
Great review, I love the depth. Thank you!
Awesome mate. Had already ordered. But still you put my mind at ease!
I love watching your video. I bought your courses, and it is the best I bought on the internet.
Thanks for the video. A lot of good information. You said that you could use Raven Eye and view the a7Siii rear screen at the same time. However, when I connect the Raven Eye to the a7Siii, my rear screen goes black. Do you have any idea what I have set wrong?
Could be related to Control with Smartphone setting on a7siii
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Would you know what your a7Siii smartphone settings are?
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Found it. HDMI Info Display must be off.
Awesome and trend setter review. Haven‘t seen such detailed review of gimbals in the past. To the point and easy to understand. Thanks
So far my favorite review. I receive mine yesterday and set it up last night. I'll try my out today
Oh waiting for this .. you are still the gimbal king 🙌🏼
Bro thank you so much for really sharing this and getting to the point. I find myself speeding up most of the youtube videos because they are filled with a bunch of nonsense. You get my like and a new sub.
Great review, I purchased the RS2 combo a couple of days ago...just waiting for it to turn up :)
Hey Brandon, will you make a video on how to set up electronic and manual focus for the RS2?
Three questions: 1; Can you use the focus motor to control the zoom ring?
2. can the
Rsc2 carry my eos r6 with a ef 70-200 (wont be getting the the smaller rf 70-200 anytime soon. Too expensive)
And 3: I forgot the last question..
It’s a long answer so I have a FAQ page for these types of questions, please check it out! learn.unscripted.com/faq/
Sorry if you answered this in the video but, I own an RS2 and was wondering if I can operate it with the pan axis locked... actually I was just doing it but Im scared if that will mess up the pan axis motor over time.. I know the R2 has an accessory external lock for the pan axis
Fantastic review. You dealt with all the questions I had on my mind especially with regards to the RSC2.
The DJI RS2 has really cool features.
Set HDMI info display OFF
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Perfect, thank you, sir!
hi, at 11:06 you discuss simultaneous camera VF and iphone monitor use. Is that only available with the RS2 and A7S III? I'm using an A7 III with RSC 2
