- Walk around of my 63 datsun pickup, with a crappy camera but oh well. 1.2 liter 4 cylinder, 60 hp, 67 ft lbs of torque. lowered via torsion bars and lowering blocks. top speed of 65 MPH!!!!

Congratulations, very cherry rig! I had one, 1964,drove it up and back the Al-can HW in November 1979. The starter went out in the Yukon but not to worry, there was a starter crank behind the seat and a built in hole in the bumper and notch in the front pulley. The 1300 would hand start easily enough, even when very cold. The 4-speed on the column took some getting used to. Down side was the rig was slow and the mileage was not all that good. Love that rig. Sad, some drunk totaled it in 1982.
The lowering blocks are custom made, 5 1/2 inch steel blocks. and i have the front end sitting on the bumpstops so it's a little bouncy but it feels like a sports car now.
I tried once to handcrank it, nearly snapped my wrist lol. I had 5 of these trucks at once and one happened to be a sport model but it was wrecked. But i like the idle around 500 rpm, sounds like a tractor lol. I fixed that valve tick too. thanx for the comment
@williammerseburgh yep i still have it, it was passed down from my grandpa to my dad and then to me as my very first truck. ive had it for about 15 years now

Im about 5'10" and 135lbs, and if i drive it any longer than 45 minutes then i gotta get out and stretch....because i had to make the seat able to go back as far as it could and i still cant stretch my legs all the way out, maybe if im way up by the firewall lol. i did have a buddy who was 320lbs and 6'2" drive it and it was pretty hilarious, he was stuffed in there!
It's so cute that reminds me of a Hillman Husky station wagon. I can see that done as a period Bellflower kustom and it could bridge the gap between hot rods, mini trucks and hot hatches. Is that little 1.2 litre engine a derivative of the Austin A series, as used in the Morris Minor? I wonder if you can put a Rover V8 under the hood?

What a superb little truck! Hey, let's see ya handcrank start it! I'd like to find the sport version myself--or a '60 pl320. Is the idle a little slow or is that the RPM's you want?

Could you tell me what is the name of that color? I got a datsun just like thata one and i want to paint it the same color!
cast99 Its actually just a cheapy maaco paint job and have no idea the exact paint code. its about 10 years old now and really starting to peel and fade. Going to get it done right hopefully in the next year or so.

@osoroho421sd its kinda funny because this datsun is actually rated as a 1 ton. so my little dick datsun can haul more than your pos chevy. its also funny that chevy guys think that there shit don't stink, but i can smell a pos chevy from ten miles away....
Chevy's aren't pos's and Datsun aren't either.
