Hi family! I was born in Charleston,SC now living in California. I have never seen okra's that big. Keep up the great work. Have a great day!

Good harvest you put in the Work....Thay first rain kind of scared you it just brought on blessings thanks for sharing 🌱🍉
The garden is looking good. There is a brother that have a very informative garden channel it's ( growing out the box) I'm sure you will find tons of useful information, he is very through and you will be able to see results of his work.
Wow big okra
Yo garden put out some damn good long okra 😊. I see what you working with down there Bossman. Good turn out for you after all. Happy 4th man.
Those okra look like pickled okra size.
If they aren’t woody/fibrous when you squeeze them between your thumb and index finger, then they’re not too tough. Big okra can just be tender ones that grew fast versus being old. The color of green looks tender to me, the old ones are normally darker green.
YEAH Bossman, we grew yellow and red watermelon but when they were small we put the mesh around them to protect them. If your okra is hard then it’s too tuff to eat. Awesome! 👏👏👏🌱🌱🌱😎😎😎💯💯💯
Pick okra when it's small- just put in freezer 2 at a time- when they are big, they are woody
tough and stringy as hell.
Thanks for sharing , I was very glad to see the comment remembering all the stuff you got going, yet you find time to check in. Always excited to see your content keep on doing you❤❤
That garden stuff be good with wild game this hunting season Big Boss Man. Yea
Your garden is really coming along. Hope your new babies grow up. Everybody in Canada. 😂😂😂 People are so full of themselves. Keep doing what you doing.
Oh😂 wow, that's amazing seeing the plants produce. I hope the 🍈 get larger it's going to be exciting!!!

Morning Boss garden looks amazing
I like okra and tomatoes, yellow rice and of, fish
That's what I'm talking about them watermelons ❤ you did a great job boss man I love it
Nice garden😊
I think they will be fine you can tell just by how easy it is to slice. They will be delicious just keep on gardening great job
Big 👍🏻Bossman hog hunters dont cry😢🤣🤣🤣
They taste better when they are shorter. Not trying to rain on the parade! There are different types okra as well, but you want them when they are smaller. Big isn't always good in gardening.
WATERMELON LOOKING GOOD
Too tough 😊
ty for sharing
Hey boss man y’all be safe if this tropical storm is coming y’all’s way take shelter and may god be with you and your family 🙏🙏🙏🙏
U make some cute babies Bossman ❤😂!
Beautiful work!keep it up!
Nice harvest and great video. Thanks for sharing 👍
Lol proud papa 😂
What I found out if you think they might be tough instead of cooking them whole. Cut it in sliced they will be just fine. I stayed with my grandparent and they had okra in the garden, and he had some he sold. My grandmother only uses the okra for homemade soup which was delious. She didn't put the whole okra in the soup she would cut it up first, and i can't remember any other way she cook the okra. Hope that help.
I cut my big okras in thin slices and they were still hard, like chewing straws. Maybe if I cook it a real long time it will get tender 🤔
I grow up breaking okra of the plant not cutting it off the plant, if it breaks off real easy like snap beans then it’s not tough but if the stem bends and you have to tear it off it’s too tough another way you can tell if it’s going to be tough if you break the tip of the okra off it’s tender if it’s been without breaking it’s tough
Alredee!!!! 🍉
😂Thanks for sharing, God Bless.
My grandfather had a Okra farm he grew for a living. Me and my oldest brother would go out and help him pick them in the summer to take them to the Market. How he would check them to see if they were tender is, he would take a few not to many and pluck the tips with his fingers, if the tip plucked then they were ready and if the tip did not pluck that meant that there would be a few tough ones in the bunch.
My grandfather had a big okra garden, it would be fun when we would come from Texas to Louisiana and he would let us help him with it.
@@smllw I am from Louisiana, the New Orleans area on the Westbank.
Good looking garden. I got a watermelon 🍉 garden myself
Hey Bossman I know that you are a farmer, fisherman, hunter and I assume that you have a full time job so I don’t get mad when you don’t answer all of my comments but I love hearing from you when you do answer. The watermelons look good but I don’t know to much about okra but I’m sure some of your subscribers can help with that. Keep doing what you doing and God Bless. ❤❤❤
❤ he gonna be so good when he grow up lol
I'm a city person, I have no idea what you're showing me. My grandfather grew on 3 acres , my mom would tell us "get this. get that" That was a long time ago. oh them hogs will enjoy them melons in a month..
Aye Bossman, yo music on these past 4 months been on point😂.... I be jammin ova here lol, keep em comin and I'll keep watchin
To my experience
the small and medium
okra be fine
But some time the
big ones are hard to
cut, so i don't keep
them.
Be blessed
Bossman they tell me you should cut that bottom leave off once you cut the pod off. They say it doesn't serve any purpose and it helps the plant produce more.
Beans looking good
Bossman when cut one if it’s real hard then it may not be good but your garden looks good enjoy the fruits and vegetables god bless Bossman
you snooze and the wild hogs will take good care of your babies.
Wish I had some good pickled okra.😊
Look good boss man I got 13 baby
Bossman if you can stick your finger nail in the okra easily, you can eat it. If it's hard to to stick your nail in it, it's to tough to eat👍🏻💛🙏🏻
The okra look like they are tough .
I am proud of you Brother, keep the garden going as long as you can.
Okra gets tough when it gets big. You want to cut it around four inches in length. No more than five inches or it gets inedible. Tough and stringy.
🍉 🔥🔥🔥🔥
👍🏾
I tried Red Okra this year and to my surprise they turn green when cooking, but very delicious.
👍👍
If the okra feels soft when you squeeze it then it's okay. Otherwise save for seeds. 😊

How do you keep all of the critters (rabbits, deer) from eating up everything?
👍
Happy Blessed 4th of July 🎆🎆🎆🎆
From our experience with growing okra is once you let it get big like that, they're too tough it's best to harvest them when they're small they're good and tender
The way we checked our okra we used a pairing knife and cut into the spot right below the stem in the body of the okra and if it was "woody " feeling we chunked it if was tender we ate it and usually we fried it when bigger like that if smaller like 3-4 inches llong we made gumbo or boiled it and put with butter
I’ve always heard you have to build a mound to plant water melons unlike yours are I think but I tried growing 3-4 plants last year but I didn’t build a mound, I just planted them in rows beside the squash and had only 2 melons that came of it that got about the size of a football and then they split open so I don’t know if it was just because I didn’t build a mound or got too much fertilizer or something, deer and raccoons ate basically all of my corn crop out of 62 stalks I picked 3 cobs and I picked them too early just so I’d get something from it, was a lot of work and money for the wildlife to eat good I guess so I didn’t even try growing a garden this year, good luck with your melons Bossman , hope they make it 🖕🏼Canada 😂✌🏼👍🏼
Okay
2020 4 WATERMELON VINES I GOT 16 WATERMELON, 2021 SKIPED 2022 THEY DIDNT COME IN 2023 SAME 2024 AS OF A WEEK AGO I STOP WATERING ,SAW ONE BABY THE NEXT DAY IT TURN BLACK TEMP RUNNING LIKE 109 TO ABOUT 113 .
I found the big okra to be tough. Just let it dry out and get the seeds
Every year is better..get that soil right
..
My cousin gave me some okra from his garden,I made Gumbo yesterday, luv it in my Gumbo
I put a piece of cardboard under my melons to protect the from pest and rot.
Okay q
If they're Emerald okra they will not be tough
Good morning just cut one up an see if that one hard
If your okra is Clemson spineless they are probably too tuff. If they are cow horn they may be ok.
Bossman that was probably a troll. If not that dude needs friends because he clearly lonely. How 1 man gon stop a whole country from watching he not the president of Canada.
Pick that cucumber now its gone turn yellow because of the sun and pick your okra before they get too big .
Harvest at half that size
I was wondering why your okra was so big and you say you haven't been checking on it. Yes when the okra is that big it be too tough if I were you I would just say the seeds but if you don't let me know how it was but I believe it's going to be tough just saying.
Boss man get them off the ground put newspaper under them water melens
Yes, that okra is way too big to eat.
Be civil people.
That okra looks to be seed too big
To big not good
Too Big
I have a big garden of okra, I picked so many today, I will have plenty to put up and give away
Yeah Bossman, those okra are way too big, you can keep them and let them dry out and get the seeds from them to plant next year
Hey Hoss.. I'm new to gardening to an I thought the bigger bokra the better I fill Freezer bag nutb fond ut the okra tha big ae extremely tuff. Catch them 3-4 inches the tende they are. unless someone knows a better method to cooking big okra
