Steve Harris galloping on that bass from beginning to end. Such a legend.
He is SUCH a legend my man ! Well said.
Universally known as and all around, all music, not just metal bass guitar player.. ☮️
Good call friend!
It’s the finger picking
When I was playing bass in the 80's he, and Geddy Lee were my idols, tried to emulate, but they are one of a kind! Good call bro!
Hell yeah his fingers gotta be tougher than cow hide to shred like that for so long
I started playing this song (and others) for my little girl (4 years old) during bath time. For a while, this was one of her favorites. This past summer, we went to a small local air show/vintage plane showing. Many of the planes were WWII vintage. As we were walking past one, she started singing the chorus to this song, "The Airplane Song" as she calls it. My wife was scowling at me, but several guys in the crowd, including at least one cop, turned to look and give smiles and nods of approval. I was so proud. :)
As you should be Dad, as you should. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good effort man. I raised my kids on maiden and air shows. A fantastic combination!
@@jock25259 Same goes. I did multiple Leuchars and Farnborough air shows and Maiden at Twickenham Stadium and Aberdeen with my son. The last Maiden concert we went to was on the Legacy of the Beast Tour last year and was his gift to me. Nice.
The world needs more dads like you
MissingNOLA
I´m getting emotional just from imagining the scene! Can´t even imagine beeing in your place, it must have been beyond epic!!!
It feels so good to know that there´s people like you, who encorage their kids to really know music, instead of just feeding them the garbage that plays on the radio. Thank you for that.
An excellent example of why Bruce Dickinson is one of the best lead singers and frontmen in history!!!
dude, i've been listening to this song for the last 30 years, i still got excited with you.
.....anch'io..........fuck YEAH
Bro you NEED to go to an Iron Maiden concert. It's an Experience.
On tour in N. America this summer. I already got my tickets.
@@MegaAlan54321 they are coming to brooklyn this july and im thinking of going with my dad. He got me into maiden in the first place
I've got my tickets too, i live in peru, so i'm going to travel to argentina. All for my first concert!
I know it's not too much for some but I've seen them 6 times and it's just never enough :D
IT REALLY IS. I've seen them two times and they KILLED IT! 🤘🤘
Yeah, gotta say it. As an old school, 48 year old, family man, mortgage paying Metal Head....Iron Maiden will always be the heaviest influence in my musical life. The very best and most consistent band that ALWAYS brings it.
cool im 51 been playing bass since 1982 and Steve never lets me down ROCK ON UP THE BLOODY IRONS!!!!!!
I'm 48 too, and my favorite lifetime band is Iron Maiden.
Thanks God I have the privilege to saw them twice in Bogota Colombia. Up the Irons! 🤘🤘🤘
@@jdedelli4838 hell yeah me too i went to the pawn shop found a nice Fender P bass .rest is history i have had fun took a brak bought a house now im ready to get back at it. Hope your dreams come true UP THE IRONS!!
Yep 47 here. Went to the Powerslave tour and have been going ever since. Maiden is a huge part of the soundtrack of my life no doubt. As a drummer I always wanted to play along side the likes of Harris or John Paul Jones.
DPhoto Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy and Dio were and still are my go-tos.
"This is one of those songs that'd get me hyped"
You're goddamn right.
Thanks, Heisenberg.
Lol
Agreed. But no need to use the Lord's name in vain. "damn right" is sufficient, and without offending the Deity.
I smiled when he said "I'm excited to see the end because I know he's gonna bring it home"
Then I thought to my self oh you're in for a treat! ;)
You hit the nail on the head when you said that today's groups need to take notes
I agree mate
For real
+1 No one like Maiden. They are the one and only. Love these guys...Great reaction video man.
Hey now, you're just not looking in the right place. There are SO many incredible bands out there right now... Bands that would top Maiden any day. Open your eyes.
@@zachpeters4253 I'm just agreeing with King KTF. I know there are many many many many badass groups out there but the majority of them are from the 70s and 80s. Oh yeah I feel there's a whole lot of bands better than Iron Maiden. Again I'm just agreeing with King KTF. Don't get on my case
Bruce D. is also a commercial air pilot. You could be flyinging somewhere and all of a sudden you hear " this is your capitan Bruce Dickenson we ll be flying at 30k feet". Hehe
I listen to Maiden for 30 years. I appreciate their music even more these days. It's just incredible.
I can tell by your expressions that you're not just listening to this, but you're feeling it. Keep on the Rock 'n' Roll journey man.
That's what I love about King..he really loves it🤘😖🤘
Apart from how awesome the song is, I have great respect for Iron Maiden's respect for history. Speaking as a dumb yank, a song like this has me contemplating the sincere resolve of the English people. For nearly a year they were the only major power to stand up against the axis powers while we in the states were still contemplating whether to get involved at all. Not just the tireless pilots he's singing about, going out again and again on seemingly endless sorties against the Luftwaffe, but the sheer stoic heroism of the citizens to face daily bombings and still carry on. From the fall of France and before to the end of the Battle for Britain and beyond, It is a testament to the strength of a people in the face of insurmountable odds.
Love and respect from england for that comment
🤝🙏🇬🇧
Much appreciated Sir - thank you.
I love this comment. I am a history nerd and love when songs have historic themes.
Hell yes and spot on.
Even pilots the bands jet himself!! Boss life

This is no joke, it's real :D
@@MrHanswurscht666 Yeah he has flown them the past few tours. They started on a 737 and moved up to a 747 for the Book Of Souls and made the Flight 666 DVD. Which is a very cool tour documentary.
SS Sandman It was a 757 then a 747, but yeah. The fact that he could work a long flight THEN play a full show is pretty badass because the actual flying is only part of being a 747 captain.
If anyone out there hasn't seen Maiden live, they're still touring these days
Go see them, one of the best you'll see in person
They are amazing live, seen them twice a and was meant to go see them again in June but was cancelled for obvious reasons hopefully they can reschedule for the near future 🤘🏻😬🤘🏻
I could happily sit here and watch you react to every Iron Maiden song. Great reactions
Why cant you enjoy them yourself you nerd
I feel the same... I'm new to this guy/channel. .
He gets me excited to hear my favorite band again...
And the fact he's an African American makes it even better for some odd, great reason !?!?
@@bd9712 I know we aren't supposed to notice things like this... but you're right. It is pretty cool. 🤣
All aboard the Iron Maiden Train!!!
Oh hell yeah! Book me a seat my blood brother!
Eddie's the conductor.
Right on!
Choo Choo!!!
Here we go :D
Gotta hear Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Dammit you know I'm going to have to find that now, I first heard that more than twenty years ago.
The Flight 666 video = best version.
This song is so epic. You must react next.
Tossing in my vote for Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I'd have to go with the Flight 666 version also.
I have to go with the Live After Death version
I'm 53 years old and totally love watching your reactions to my era of music!!!
When he was like “I know he’s gonna bring it on home” I was like “Just you wait...”
Same here I was thinking “just wait wait for the last chorus”
Dance of death and brave New world
The film is actually footage from the "Battle of Britain". Europe had fallen, the Americans were not yet in World War 2 and Britain stood alone against the Nazis. The pilots in the " Battle of Britain" were outnumbered 3 to 1, yet they prevailed.
Bruce Dickinson has a pilot's licence and used it to fly the band to gigs in his customized 747.
dodiesdiary I admire RAF but its sad when you realize Churchill had them fighting on the wrong side
Murders in the Rue Morgue and Tailgunner other high energy songs that kick ass from start to finish. Maiden 1984 Powerslave tour about the most fun I've ever had at a concert.
Dance of Death is so sick!
I vote for Brave New World. In fact, I vote for the entire album. It's the greatest comeback album ever made!
Bruce and Iron Maiden are tied for my favorite band along with Floyd. 2 bands completely different and absolutely amazing and groundbreaking
Floyd will always be number one for me but Maiden is definitely second.
Athresz All depends on my mood but they are equally as important to me. Some days Maiden edges Floyd out and visa versa lol
Floyd is my all time top band. Maiden and the Cure round out my top 3. Hail to England!
Same! You haven't excellent taste sir!
@@bschuler6216 Pink Floyd and Tool are elite. no one compares.
"I know he's going to bring it home!"
You called that one!
I love Iron Maiden. How can you not love a band with one of the members named Nicko McBrain? These guys have stayed true to their signature sound throughout the decades.
iron maiden - afraid to shoot strangers
Yeah, and two minutes to midnight.
Yes! The melody will break your heart.
The epic ... Rime Of The Ancient Mariner!!!! And Where Eagles Dare is a nice changeup for them as well :D
I remember using Rime of the Ancient Mariner in my History class back in 1987. Got to play the song along with my report on the poem.
Don’t fuck with the albatross!!!
Dude, that is a perfect description of Bruce Dickinson's effect - Signature. I hope you consider reacting to "Run to the Hills". Not only is it from the album when he first joined the band (same album as Hallowed Be Thy Name), but this song is his John Hancock of Signatures. People may dog this song for various reasons but likely because they've heard it a zillion times. Truth be told, it's one of the songs that helped launch the band to super stardom. Every band member gets their time to shine in this song, there's a great build up after the solo midway, and Bruce's sign off at the end is even better than the one in Aces High. If you choose "Run to the Hills" for reaction, go with Official Video here on UA-cam for full effect. Best wishes and keep the faith!
Nothing beats Iron Maiden live and the smile on your face when the song starts proves it.
"Phantom Of The Opera" by Iron Maiden
Bruce Dickinson has some good solo albums too. Like Accident of Birth, and Chemical Wedding
Just finished his audio book of his autobiography. Great book. Have been jamming to Maiden since 81, and don't plan on stopping. My Favorite Metal Band Period.
"Scream For Me Brazil" was my introduction to Bruce's solo stuff and it's still in my top 5 best live albums of that genre. I keep telling reviewers to check it out but so far nobody's done it which is a shame because some of those tracks are on the same level (if not better) than peak Maiden.
Skunkworks is very underrated
@@WhiskeyBrewer It is indeed. Some very cool jams. Much different than his other stuff. Sorta like a 70 flashback with hints of Rush. Great band.
@@spsanders69 Definitely. I love Innerspace and Strange Death in Paradise. Re-Entry should have made the album
Bruce treats his voice like an instrument. He didn't drink while on tour and didn't do the "drugs and rock and roll" life. He's a commercial pilot and flies Iron Maiden's commercial tour jet during their world tours. The whole band stayed pretty clean and drama free for the most part during their long career.
Iron Maiden is the only band that do not only have fans but rather a crowd that follows in all the shows!! Unique Band!
To me, Maiden's signature is their rhythm, especially Steve Harris on the bass! Bruce is definitely a unique singer too no one sounds like him.
You're right that when you hear an Iron Maiden song you know who it is even if you never heard it before
My recommendation: Powerslave, from this same album. The bass line is what inspired me to start playing bass
Golgothian Steve is a FUCKING BEAST on bass. Same with Nikko. Shut all of them. That what makes them so awesome. So tight and have never sold out. Always true to metal, themselves and their fans.
Golgothian I first started playing bass in a metal band in the mid 80’s after hearing Revelations but Powerslave, Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Flight of Icarus also had a big influence on me.
With you on this one.....THAT BASS IS KILLER. This one of those bands that no one is a virtuoso per se, but together...out of this world.
I really like Tears of the Dragon by Bruce Dickenson.. It's slow and powerful!
Fucking great solo
Iron Maiden Rime Of The Mariner. If you like build up and changes and Bruce's vocal range, that is one you love.
I’ve always appreciated Iron Maiden’s efforts to have historical context to their songs, they’ve done a masterful job of it. What is great about this song is to remember the Royal Air Force pilots and the tremendous odds against them during the Battle of Britain in 1940 and to think of what they were able to accomplish when most of them were 19.and 20 or so years old, that is a very big lesson to be learned by today’s youth. Excellent job Preston, you have a passion for good music that is refreshing to watch.
React to Where Eagles Dare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG YES!!!!!!
Yesss! Soo underrated from the Maiden catalog!
Where Eagles dare is from Piece of Mind which is, together with Powerslave, the best album of Iron Maiden IMO then followed by Seventh son of a Seventh son and Number of the Beast. Yes I'm old school, after the 90's I'm not really impressed by their albums except for Brave New World which is excellent.
Bang on!!!! EPIC!!!!
MY FAVORITE IRON MAIDEN SONG
today is a good day - eddie lives
Do Seventh Son of a Seventh Son....🤘🏻 The guitar solo's are pure brilliance and the transitions are mind- blowing.
02:33 THAT smile, THAT smile is what Bruce Dickinson is, that smile is what Maiden is. Omg gives me chill af 😍😍😍😭😭😭
Bruce brings it home! Steve started the band and often orchestrates, then the whole band have the instrumental element firing on all cylinders, but Bruce (literally too) pilots and lands it! Nice one Preston.
Love Iron Maiden!!!! Listen a song Powerslaved.... is very good.
Saludos desde Colombia ! 🤟🏽
Colombia... pense que yo era el unico.
@@elkardona pensamos que eramos los únicos V:
One of the greatest bands of all time. Became big with no radio play at all. Still going in their fifth decade. I’ve seen them 6 times, first in 1983. Watching you react is a joy. They are awesome, and you are as well. Take care.
When you ever see a Maiden show you will never be the same again
Preston, C'MON bro!
22 ACACIA AVENUE.
Let's do it!
Randy Cramer 👍 Live after death version!
Yes!!!!!
Nice., I completely forgot about that one.
Damn right! the continuing saga of Charlotte the Harlot!

I seen Maiden live last august, Bruce is the exact same today, they were fantastic, im seeing metallica in June this year I am beyond excited
I'll be seeing them this August .. this'll be my 3rd Maiden show .. they've been lit every single show man
Yep he shocked me at the gig I was at, some of the notes he could hit was great
@WillPlayLP Absolutely. Seen them live during the 2018 tour and they used Aces High to open the show. It was fucking lit, one of the best experiences of my life.
See you at Slane then?
@@thomasskeffington4539 gonna be one to remember thats for sure
Iron Maiden are an unbelievable band. My favorite. What you see here is just a glimpse of what Iron Maiden is. Its one of the few bands that need to be experienced live. Engaging and powerful and cheerful
"a lot of these bands today...they need to take notes, man!" . That's right! Greetings from Brazil.
The Rime of the ancient mariner, from flight 666.
If you have the time, try Iron Maiden's Powerslave and Wasted Years.
Wasted years, definitely... Story of my life.. lolololol
Definitely wasted years 🤘
Two of my faves
Powerslave is one of my faves! I'd be curious to how he would react to Dance of Death and Paschendale, too!
Yeah "wasted years" is a great song. One of my favorites.
*Powerslave* was Iron Maiden's peak. They still did a lot of great stuff after this, but *this* is them firing on all cylinders and doing it perfectly.
You can make "react videos" for every iron Maiden song and feels the same every time man!!!! They are the Kings.
Got to react to ALEXANDER THE GREAT by iron maiden... The song is absolutely epic
the talisman live version. Is supreme
You have to react to Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell. It is a legendary song and the singer for me is the best of all times(RIP Ronnie James Dio)
Dio is exquisite. Try "Stargazer" and "Kill the King" by his band "Rainbow", 2 of his best songs.
Maiden got me jacked before my high school and college football games!!!! I'm an 80s teen who was raised on Maiden.
Love your heart brother!!!!
check WASTED YEARS by Iron Maiden!!! it's my fav
The solo gives me chills everytime
Great track. Adrian's solo is killer
I wish I could choose a favorite 😭
About time KTF!!! needed some Maiden in your channel!!
YES MY FAVORITE BAND!!! Saw them live 2 weeks before my 18th bday (I'm 23 now)
my favorite band also..... i have seen them 3 times...i wish to see them many more times. met Nico shook his hand the concert that happened at was the day before my 30th.... i am the same age as Bruce.....his voice style is my fav... deep purple was my fav until they came onto the scene in the 1980's . we (a friend and I) were going to get back stage the next day but one of the roadies made an obscene proposal to here and she was such a hot.head that she was going to hitchhike 1000 miles back home and I would not allow that Rolf 4 foot 10 inch girl woman to go alone so I went with her forfeited my front row seats and my Bethpage opportunity to protect my friend on my birthday 30th birthday I'll never forget that what a bummer!
Bruce can carry a note like it's got a handle.
I.M. -Longest Day
React to "Be Quick or be Dead" by Iron Maiden. Same energy as "Aces High."
Good song ...but no where near as good as aces high...this was maiden at there peak in every way!!
For sure. Just want him to enjoy another powerful one.
Be quick or be dad
I've been jamming this song since I was six years old
Iron Maiden is solid foundation metal. Vocals, riffs, bass...bass...bass,solos, Bruce is hall of fame. Melodic, Rhythmic metal with a prominent bass groove!
Whitesnake- Crying in the Rain. Powerful vocals and an insane guitar solo
Yessss
Bruce Dickinson also has his own solo catalog! You should check out his songs "Kill Devil Hill", "Darkside of Aquarius", and "The Book of Thel."
Dissident Rage also Omega, taking the queen, God’s of war, accident of birth, chemical wedding and of course - tears of the dragon :)
Oh...and arc of space
Aquarius is great, though I liked Chemical Wedding more.
Fuck yeah! I don't think I could handle maiden in concert! So many songs that get me reved up and blow my mind! One of the best of all time...
Bruce just turned 60 last year and he still has that energy in their shows to this day. I'm going to see them in September when they play in Las Vegas. Will be my 12th time seeing them. They are a "Don't miss" live show. By the way, dig your channel. I think it's cool when you "bring that back" to relisten to a part. I can tell you feel the music. ✌
I just started to watch your channel a few months ago...I really enjoy your channel you are very real and I love your reaction and how u love guitar I love seeing people react to music I have been listening to all my life keep up the great work...one request anthrax and public enemy bring the noise I think u will enjoy.... remember one fist in the air one foot in the gutter
Do Caught somewhere in time or Alexander the Great
Love Caught Somewhere In Time!
Just think....this was over 30 years ago!!!
Most music, even today, can't even compete with this!....and....they're still at it!
I fucking love your videos mate!!! Especially the Maiden ones. You get it.....You. Just. Get. It!! Just so that you know, (not that you didn't pick this up anyway), this was filmed at an empty venue, so what you're seeing isn't how it sounded. This is the studio recording overlayed. Doesn't take away from the songs quality. Aces High is a beast of a song. They still played this on last years tour.....34 years after it was released. Bruce was still owning it. Respect to you mate, keep up the good work! \m/ Oh, and Maiden are in the States later this year! YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!
Yeah man. Try Iron Maiden - Revelations!
Right. And when you're done, I recommend "To tame a land". Sadly underrated song IMHO.
Or Rime of the Ancient Mariner. If he's got time...lol
I had the most of the same reactions when I first heard this back in 1985. This album is my favorite Maiden album by far. This band got me into heavy metal. I may not be a huge fan of what they are doing nowadays, but this band along with Rush and Metallica will always have a special place in my heart.
I have recommendations, as well (they're all videos too):
Iron Maiden - Two Minutes To Midnight
Iron Maiden - Running Free (Live After Death)
Iron Maiden - Wasted Years
Iron Maiden - Stranger in a Strange Land
Iron Maiden - Alexander the Great
Iron Maiden - Can I Play With Madness
Iron Maiden - The Evil That Men Do
Iron Maiden - The Clairvoyant
Iron Maiden - Tailgunner
Iron Maiden - Wasting Love
Iron Maiden - From Here To Eternity
Iron Maiden - Brighter Than A Thousand Suns
Iron Maiden - The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
YOU need to check out their concert videos from a few months ago. Bruce is 60 yrs old

@@threadworm437 KILLING TIME 'TIL MY VERY OWN DEATH
Maidens are GODS, seen them live 4 times, all the shows were 10/10
Please react to Powerslave, a song about the death of an egyptian pharaoh and thoughts he has in his dying hours
You should go to a concert. You won't regret. They have a fuxxxing spitfire on the stage 😎
Love what you said about putting a signature on the song. That's when you know it's real, and alive as a song and as a band. You know they're excited about playing/recording it for people, and they don't hold anything back. The whole band, I love how they explode at the start of a gig, immediately you feel like you need to catch up. Then Bruce bursts out, and at 60, he still comes rushing out leaping over floor monitors, and after throat cancer, singing better than ever, and I mean that. Such good performers!
Wickerman live at Rock in Rio is an amazing video, great song and they totally killed it!
Iron maiden- dance of death,or run to the hills
Well said man, well said... Up the Irons... \m/
Dance of Death was shit though...
The best IM song showcasing Bruce’s operatic vocals and Steve’s thunderous bass lines plus the rhythmic guitar leads makes this a all time classic...truly one of the best in my opinion.
"live to fly, fly to live"....and Bruce Dickinson years later is an accomplished pilot capable of flying the band from site to site on tour in a 747. Amazing.
Nicko McBrain is surrounded by one hell of a drum set and he make good use of all of it!
All of them know their respected instruments inside and out. Im a bass player and Steve Harris is the reason why!
Flight of the Icarus
Wasted Years
Stranger in a Strange Land
Flight Of The Icarus is highly underrated amongst Maiden fans, I believe.
Caught Somewhere in Time, Phantom of the Opera, The Evil That Men Do
Basically whole Somewhere In Time album is a masterpiece. Every damn song there is something else.
One for the best songs of Maiden. Fly to live, live to fly,do or die. Aces High. The best group ever.
After 35 years, I STILL react the way you do to that song.
We shall never surrender.
80'S MUSIK Rules best Music
I got to see them four times in the 80's. It is better than you can imagine.
I remember when i heard this song for the first time at my friends place, i had my jaws down and was in delirium. Just lover that band. Perfection
