- Masterlock 5423D - Normal Operation, Decoded and Bypassed, and some Number-Game Ranting at the end for your security awareness and field application of Tactical Lock Picking!
The theme of the week is NUMBERS! Today we talk about how this push button mechanical lock box works, we teach you how to decode / bypass it, and how to apply this numbers game to the field application of Tactical Lock Picking ... as we sip booze from our adult sippy cups ;)

You make it look easy. It took me like an hour, and I had to reset after each row. I just wasn't getting much feedback from mine.
on the Master Lock P19918 all the ones that were stiff, not springy were the correct combo! -Thanks!!!
1 hour of searching led me to your comment. I would buy you a drink if I could. Thanks!!!
Thank you!!!
Works. Just don't press down too hard on the lever or it jams all the buttons so that none of them will press down.
Darn! I just got one of these for my mother. I never thought that it could be so easy to crack. However, I programed my mom's with a three digit code. You don't have to use a four digit code.
I have the same one and it won't work :(
Brilliant thanks!
thank you worked great
What key safe would you recommend? It seems that all the 'safest' locks all have insane flaws to them.
Thank you for this video. I knew if I came on YT, someone would know how to open this without the code. Our lock box has been locked for a month or more and we forgot the code
nice job.
The easy way which always works is to use a pin punch, remove the pins and you can easily open these locks. Then you can see the combination and/or reset it and replace the pins.
Thanks!
Thanks for the video. BTW, What is the mounted 5 button lock and do you have any way of bypassing or decoding it?
nifreaky That is the Kaba Simplex 900 series. I am currently in production of some printable pdf's you can use to QUICKLY brute force a lock by listed trial and error. There are "methods" to use to help you guess a code, and there are things like manufacture default codes. I'm not sure of any way to "pick" it yet but I'll be doing more on this topic soon, Check out our podcast for more. 👍🏼 Thanks for the question!
Had these at the dorms in my college.very quick to get in as always to my memory they where only a two to three button combination with only five possibilites each!
Edit: actually, there are more than five possibile outcomes per press as you can do 1+2 etc
Do you have the list of the 210 combination numbers
I found a way of opening the wall mounted version of this lock, you pull down unlock button and hold down the reset button for the keypad and feel for which numbers are stiffer than the rest and that is your combination
This worked for me but I had to pull down both reset and unlock levers as you said, then release the reset while still holding the unlock lever. Then the buttons felt stiff/soft so I could feel the code.
I tried this and it did not work for me. However i used to have a 5 digit code, does that make a difference?
I wish you could help me get mine off of my door. I bought one because I have medical issues and I’m stuck in bed. It was working fine for a little while then it stopped working. We have no idea why it stopped working. Call the locksmith they want $200 to take it off. I got a replacement but they didn’t do many good cause I can’t put it on because this one stuck. You make it look easy maybe my son can figure it out with us thank you
Hey all, if your having issues; for some reason the 'firm' numbers worked on mine to unlock. Try the numbers that are 'firmer' and it should work if the loose ones do not.
Do you have a new discord link?
Anybody find solutions for my P19919 model. Forgot the combo. Thank you
I have a p19919 and this doesnt work right.
Forgot the combo to mine, I know I set it to something easy. took me a while, looking for 4 digits, all the numbers are spongey.. except #1.
The code was just 1.
This is good if only 4 digits but this can be programmed up to 12 digits. So the variance is much higher than 495.
I was just about to say this, one could use 3 numbers, or 6 or 8, and if they're expecting only a 4 digit code itll throw them for a loop.
Up to 12, really? that does change the combinations, why didn't he respond to comments?
I have not rotated the numbers correctly and locked it won't open. solution ?
Mohamed Patel sorry, I don’t know how to fix that problem.
This absolutely does not work. I have the same model lock. Holding down the open lever binds all the buttons and you won't be able to push them. When you do push them, all feel exactly the same.
I'm having this issue with a brand new one. Not a fan of these locks.
This didn't work for me either. What did you end up doing?
@@user-tn1cv4gt9m nothing, couldn't figure out how to decode this one. No flaws I could find, but I don't consider myself an expert either.
what about the ones that have no lever, the entire box opens towards you? NOONE can get this box open we forgot the code, I need it for another listing! Geesh!
cheapo ass piece of shit, buy another one
@@Iron4TrollPatrol Most-likely has the key in it, you think about that?
Don’t feel bad we can’t get ours open and I know the code it’s my birthday! It’s been bound up and can’t get it open for several months now and we need to be able to use it. Kind of defeated the purpose of buying the thing
Do you know how to open this locker if is jammed?
Adriana Jackson As far as my research tells me the company has updated this lock so that this technique doesn’t work anymore. BUT there are only 495 possible combos. Get on our Discord App and send me a message and I can get you a list ;)
I forgot mine.. and I’ll try open but I can’t!! I all most shooting the lock....😤
In late July 2019 I bought a 5423DAU (presumably the AU is for Australia where I live) and none of my buttons gave way like they do on this demo so they've clearly fixed this flaw in the lasted model. Anyone know how to crack into my model?
Any update?
Bought model last week .... still screaming. Caringbah NSW
Since there can be any number of digits in the code, the number of possible codes for this 12-button lock is 2^12 or 4096 (each button is either part of the code or it isn't). Of course, zero digits would not work, and no one would program it for all 12 buttons, so the actual number of codes is slightly less than 4096.
It's certainly a percentage game. There is a chance that on push button code boxes (if the make/model allows it) that the user may choose a code that is less than 4 digits or more than 4 digits. Certainly a possibility. I have a hunch, though, that an overwhelming majority of users that use these types of push button locks probably stick with a 4-digit code. And IF the user has kept the code to 4-digits, then there are only 495 possibilities for the lock shown in this video. 12x11x10x9 divided by 24.
@@UncensoredTactical Correct on all counts. As a building engineer, I have a tenant who has moved out and they had one of these boxes mounted to the door. No one knew the combination and I wanted to remove it without further damaging the door by prying it off, and hoped not to destroy the box by grinding off the hinge. Neither your technique nor the similar one from LockPickingLawyer worked for me so I brute force attacked it. Since the shorter codes were fast, I tried the 12 one-digit codes, the 66 two-digit codes, and the 220 three-digit codes before trying the four digit codes. The code turned out to be 3679, which was the 634th code I tried.
@@charlessmith1931 I absolutely love this comment!!!!!! As a kid, I never thought I'd grow up to enjoy math but here we are! hahahaah. Great work and thank you for the comment. :)
What is the discord link, plz
Mine didn't work by identifying the soft keys but identifying the hard keys.
Thank you, this was the case for me as well
same here for me too. Thanks everyone.
I tried and couldn’t do it
You just pushed all the buttons i'm totally confused now
its all silver do not see the model number or name. HELLLLLLPPPP
Dude - you talk too much! Get to the POINT!
