As mentioned by another customer, I put the code 2-4-6-8. Then the lock can be unlocked pressing these four digits in ANY sequence. It can be unlocked pressing 4-2-6-8 or any order. I dont think locks are supposed to be that easy to open. I bought this lock to use during the construction at my house for contractors to be able to get in without me being there but I guess I will return it and buy something else.
Master Lock needs to fix this defect in its product.
Sometimes that is just the nature of the beast with innovation and limitations in manufacturing processes. Do you know of any other brand of push button key safes that you have to enter all digits of the combination in the exact order you set them, because I do not. If you want a portable key safe where the combination has to be entered in the order that it was originally set, model No. 5400D or No. 5406D are your options. www.masterlocks.com/category/77/key-safes
+Jia A Thanks for pointing this out! I did the math... if it's like you say, they have a 1/4096 chance of getting it right on each attempt. If it had to be in order, it would be a 1/(over 400 million) Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Went through all of this and NEVER addressed how to freaking open the shackle release! So that is supposed to just hang on a nail outside your building nice and safe whilst the key is locked inside, eh?

Is the size of the box big enough to accept a current Dodge Caravan or Ford key? What is the interior key space available when the door is closed?

this lock wont close! i put in the combo and it wont close at all and i cant re-set it either
Same problem I had. Between that and all the videos detailing how to crack the lock I gave up - just return the junk.
So anybody can Google how to set the code on this and when a person has my code and gets access to the keys they can simply just reset the code if they want to

Go to Bosnian bill or lock picking lawyer channels to see how to pick it open with out a combo. Master locks are tough under fire, but easy to pick open with a bobby pin or coke can
OK, even though this is an old post the answer may help another user out. First push down the clear button. Then holding down the arrow button press each code key down FIRMLY. As you press each key, some of them will go in further than others and you will hear a click. Once you have hit the correct code keys the box will open. Just remember which keys did the trick. Also you can look at the yellow buttons on the back of the keys after you open it. The buttons facing away from you are the set code keys. Using a small flat blade screwdriver you can change the code by pressing the yellow button down and turning it 180 degrees. I would set all the yellow buttons facing you then one by one turn the buttons for the code you want 180 degrees while pushing it gently down and turning so they point away from you. The procedure is on a UA-cam video posted by Masterlock.
It’s the same thing but instead of the ones that press down easily it’s the ones who don’t.

Worthless lockbox. Video informative but once code set, the Open button won’t slide down along to close the compartment door. I took a chance with this one and wish would not have. Other roll combo 1000% better!
Stupid lock. No repeats. No order sequence enforcement. Small inside. Go back to the drawing board on this one.
The plastic pieces on the inside of this thing are absolute garbage. Look elsewhere if you need a lockbox. This thing is a pice of crap. Also video does not show how to lift part that goes over doorknob. There were no instructions in the package. Wtf Master? Master used to mean quality. Not anymore I guess.
