I saw Rage play live with Wu-Tang Clan back in '97. Rage was two songs in, when Zack started jumping. He came down and broke his ankle on stage. They took him back stage, wrapped his ankle up, and ten minutes later he was back on stage, jumping around on one foot. Finished the show out. He is nothing if not dedicated.
I was at that show. Then when I saw them at MSG in August of '22 I didn't know why he was sitting the whole time. Then I found out he broke it again. They sounded just as good as they did 25 years earlier.
Rage were way ahead of their time. Not surprising Tom went to Harvard for political science, but dude has a Masters in guitar. And Zack's lyrics, voice, and anger get the message across even more. Sometimes stars align and you get the perfect band. Like Rage
Rage never got the respect they deserve. Zack's lyrics are truth, Tim's bass is funky and groovy as hell. and of course Tom on guitar the only man to ever "scratch" a guitar.

I'm not sure if the audience was aware of how dope Morello's solo was....he went through levels upon levels of styles and sounds in a span of about a minute. Incredibly unique display
The arrangements are crazy! Changing times three times in less then ten bars, and just when you think you know where it is going they blow your mind! I remember concerts were insane. I was in the Marines at the time and they would be blaring in the gym, at the barracks! They had so much to say, and man they can play!
This is a great example of what made Rage such an amazing band. There are so many elements of differing styles mixed in here. They have the lyrical qualities of Rap, some rhythmic bits of funk, the drive of hard alt-rock, and even a bit of punk in their outro. More importantly, their sound is genuinely live, rather than being the product of heavy studio production.
I saw them live in 2000. Best god damn concert I've ever been to in my entire life!! They were never known to be chatty during their concerts, and the only thing any of them said was "this song is called A bullet to the head" and the crowd exploded! The audience was there to have a great time and we did so TOGETHER! The only word I can find that fits the feeling is SOLIDARITY! Everyone was having fun, taking care of each other, looking out for each other, helping each other. If you fell, you would immediately be picked up, if you looked out of breath, people would ask you if you were ok and if you needed help to get out. This concert was at the biggest music festival in Sweden at the time, Hultsfred, and I saw Slipknot the night before. It was so fierce I had to back off, but during this one, I never felt threatened. We were having our arms around each other's shoulders, jumping with pure joy! I cant even do the feeling justice...
This 1993 performance of Rage Against The Machine shook Pinkpop to its foundations with their classic 'Killing In The Name' & i was there. Pearl jam performed at PinkPop in 1992. That's when Eddie climbed the scaffolding. Rage Against the Machine performed at PinkPop in 1993. RATM form in 1991, dropped their self titled Lp in 1992. It blew up with 8 big hits out of the 10 tracks. By the time they took the stage at PinkPop in 1993 their Lp had solidified them as Rap Metal Gods. My all time favorite band. That's why I know those years.
When I was in HS in the 90s, Rage Against the Machine was my favorite band. I saw them live several times but my favorite shows were with Wu-Tang Clan in 1997, and at Tibetan Freedom Festival in 99. They could lead a Revolution! You were ready to go to war after 20 minutes in the pit. At Tibetan it had been raining all day and the pit was a downhill mudslide and everyone was going apeshit. The ending to Bullet in the Head was always one of the best moments. Checkout Freedom, Bulls on Parade, Killing in the Name of, People of the Sun, Tire Me, Viet Now, basically their entire first Album and Evil Empire. Zack De La Rocha was big into Hardcore Punk and Hiphop. Tom Morello was big into Heavy Metal and Public Enemy and his mother was a hippie activist and his dad was either a Black Panther or some type of civil rights activist so politics, heavy rock music and rap were a big part of Rage Against the Machine.

Saw them live in late '92 at a tiny club with about 500 other Gen Xers. We didn't know what hit us. We tore that club down. The police showed up at the end, which was a mistake on their part. Fights, batons, pepper spray. What a powerful band! What an amazing time to be young and alive!
Yeah baby, I was at that very show, back in the day, standing in the audience, checking these guys out live. Already had the album then, and I was rocking out. RATM were Smokin'!
Probably their best Live Concert ever filmed at Pinkpop/Netherlands ( Happy Birthday for now 50 Years.Oldest Festival in Europe)....at that time i first saw them Live...or better survived one of the best Moshpits in my whole Life....unforgettable!
As a 12 year old back then i watched this on tv live. Unforgettable memories were the pinkpop concerts during those years, so many legendary performances. I was lucky to witness ratm with zack at pinkpop around 2010, dont know the exact year, but even then I jumped like I never did before, their music is so energetic...you just have to jump.

@@whateverittakes1673 eh, it was alright. I'm talking everything from Casino and before. I'll even say meet the parents and analyze this were good but wasn't top notch De Niro.
“Just victims of the in house drive by
They say jump you say how high”
All about mass media and corporations controlling news which at the time was all on TV (in house)
still the same ..nothing is gonna change..i know that sounds hopeless but that is how its always been..any good and decent members of the news media have become lost in the corporate whore money machine
This is how we got down in the 90s as teens. What do kids do nowadays?
True that! Leroy!!!
Fortnite?
And vines
What do kids do nowadays? Lament the fact that their music sucks and RATM isn’t touring now.
They listen to mumble rap. **barfs**
Nothing like being on the floor at a Rage concert. Saw them in 1999. My first concert. So great.
You’ll hurt yourself lifting to Rage. Know from experience, lol. Way to hype! Guerrilla Radio is my favorite Rage song let your ears be blessed.
That show was crazy or what??
EXCELLENT performance by an equally excellent band.
I'll be an old lady one day, still listening to it...
You gotta do "Down Rodeo" by Rage!
Down Rodeo 🎶
Just got my Rage tickets for next year at MSG. Last time I saw them was 1997 when I was 17. I havent been this excited for a show in a long time!!!.
AWWWWW it's on now🤘
That was me, 26 yrs ago!!!! Still rollin with the RATM🤘 Some of us been worshiping at the house of Rage longer than y'all been kicking😂😂😂 Where my ole ass 90s still fly as hell folks at???
Much ♥️from Bama 🙋 💕
Right here! 🤟
Were still here. I'd like to crowdsource a time machine back to 1992.
@S H
Nah, we just in our prime😉
We Here! We Here! Still fly, but much, much more fly than in the 90's!!! Yes!
@@atheistinalabama4206 YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!
You're a great dude, fun to watch you dig these tunes
Yo. They just announced they were getting back together for a 2020 tour. You gotta go bruh!
The soundtrack of my angry anarchist youth. Saw them live in Sweden back in 1997, awesome live band.
And this concert officially registered on the Richter scale as a mini earthquake
Saw them live in late '92 at a tiny club with about 500 other Gen Xers. We didn't know what hit us. We tore that club down. The police showed up at the end, which was a mistake on their part. Fights, batons, pepper spray. What a powerful band! What an amazing time to be young and alive!
Next from Rage: People of the Sun. EPIC jam from the boys. Consider this an official (and respectful) request.
They went off with this I miss the 90's
Two songs you definitely have to react to are arguably their best.
Sleep now in the fire (official video)
Renegades of Funk
I congratulate you for the diversity of music you analyze keep it up
thanks from argentina
They are not just victims of the in house drive by. They are "just" victims of the in house drive by.
Watching people dropped on their heads really added to this already awesome video. First time listening. 👍❤️😱
Miss them so much. They got banned from playing in some countries cause they said they could insight a riot..LOL..
Yeah baby, I was at that very show, back in the day, standing in the audience, checking these guys out live. Already had the album then, and I was rocking out. RATM were Smokin'!
I feel like if you do Renegades of Funk by Rage, you’ll lose your biscuits.
Great reaction vid man. Rage was a huge influence on me growing up. Love seeing people find them.
Rage Against the Machine was definitely prophesying for the year 2019
2020 is gonna be so much better they said! Rotflmao!
Zack's primal yell at the end.... Epic, and beyond compare to anything then or now...
Now listen to their covers of "I'm housin'" "microphone fiend"
Check out krs one and Zack on lyricist lounge. Criminals in action
Thank you
Fuck yesss
Your're my fav, so glad a new generation digs RAGE. I wish we would have listened. Looking at you SC.
Time for (down rodeo or renegades of funk) bro! by RATM
Down Rodeo often overlooked masterpiece
Can I just say that this is a reaction video done right? I don't usually like reaction videos either, so you've got something special here. Much love, Jamel.
You should also do Ghost of Tom Joad
With Zack singing, theres several versions but the one by RATM is best i think
Man I got to see them in houston at the astroarena on the evil empire tour. I was in 10th grade. The crowd looked like an ocean. The whole floor from front to back was moving. Only other band I've ever seen do that was primus when they performed sailing the seas of cheese. Amazing experience.
I give a shout out to the living dead
Who stood and watched as the feds cold centralized
So serene on the screen
You were mesmerized
Cellular phones soundin' a death tone
Corporations cold
Turn ya to stone before ya realise
They load the clip in omnicolour
Said they pack the 9, they fire it at prime time
Sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatraz
And mutha fuckas lost their minds
Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high
binge watching your videos since last night.....got me straight jonesing for a live RATM show!!! I'm 48 so it might kill me!!😅
I'd die just how I lived ... with my middle fingers in the air and ROCKING!
Try mexican band Molotov, they have similar sound
but molotov has a little comedy in their lyrics
Excellent vid man keep these coming! My favorite rage song 🤘 Audioslave for me is where it's at . Chris cannot be touched
Being brainwashed by commercials and brands and the “news”
