Bullet In The Head is the crown jewel of this whole set!!
It has 10x the energy of this song!!
🔥🤘🏽🔥
Quite possibly the punchiest beat of all time, this entire album was fire
That's one song off a full fkn set. Imagine that energy, depending on gig for 30-60mins. It was fkn insane
Zach was mostly overlooked by rap fans in general, but he’s one of the all time greats as far as I’m concerned. People are learning, though.
Between the rock beats and heavy lyrics, he's easy to overlook in the rap world. Not doing pop-rap, easy sell, chicks and dope type songs means less airplay, but purists will find him. If you like KRS-1, Immortal Technique and Chuck D, you'll find Zach eventually.
@@PcytripperYup. Funny thing. I remember when Sugar Hill Gang was new. And “Cookiepuss”. And Public Enemy, to name a few. I was pretty young, maybe 10or 11, but I always loved music and while I leaned more towards Rock and Metal I listened to everything. When Rage dropped that first album they started getting tons of airplay on WAAF Worcester/Boston while grunge/alternative was pushing past rap and hip hop. And it never slowed until well after most people switched to streaming services. Now it’s cool to see so many people realizing they missed out and embracing the music. The fact that his messages are still relevant is disconcerting, though.
@@cjonesufcRATM new exactly what they were doing…Capitalism at its finest (they’re all millionaires)
Pinkpop festival in The Netherlands. 15 year old me was there. Earthquake of 1,1 on the Richter scale measured during the RATM show.
Let’s fuckin go!!! RATM!! “If ur bowing down, then let me do the cutting “
Eminem said it best on the Slim Shady LP. “I’m a caged demon. on stage screaming like Rage Against the Machine!”
Man this brings back some memories!!! lol fun times, the 90’s were freaking AWESOME!! 🎶❤️✌🏻
Yes, they were. The shows were amazing.
DAMN I LOVE RAGE!!!! So Lucky That I Grew Up On This My Teens Rocked!!!
My father worked for Pontiac in Michigan from 69 to late 77 and the GTO nickname he always told me was Gas Tires and Oil, it burns all three lol.
Watching from New Zealand. Love you guys!!
me too !

I love playing this song and killing in the name on vinyl cause I own there self titled on vinyl so thx for doing this live that had me head banging 😅😂
God damn I just woke up and the boys are reacting to one of my fav RATM songs
One of their best songs imo!
Rage Against the Monday sounds like a great idea. Do that for three or four months. Bring back the Rage!
I don't remember rappers talking much about him but I wasn't a big RATM fan. I like them way more now and have always respected them. Love this performance.
One of the BEST SONGS LIVE with all the power from everyone
LONG LIVE TO RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Regarding other rappers of the era and their links to RATM and Zach. The Wu Tang Clan toured with RATM. RATM opened for Public Enemy. Lauryn Hill was tight with Zach. KRS-One had a song with Zach. B-Real of Cypress Hill was tight with them as evidenced by him joining a supergroup with 3 of the members RATM along with Chuck D of Public Enemy. In the last couple years, Zach rapped with EL-P and well known Atlanta rapper Killer Mike on songs like "Close your eyes (and count to)" and "JU$T" (feat. Pharrell Williams) and can be seen in the video of RTJ hit "Ooh La la" (featuring DJ Premier) with Greg Nice of rap group "Nice and Smooth". That's off the top of my head. Their "Renegades" album is full of covers of groups like EPMD, Volume 10, Cypress Hill, Afrika Bambaataa, Eric B & Rakim. Of course the hip hop influence of RATM is only part of the story. They're also hugely influenced by/friends with, and influential to punk rock, heavy metal, and rock acts including Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Black Sabbath, the Stooges, MC5, System of a Down, Tool, etc.
The Wu Tang Clan toured with RATM in 1997.❤
They were kicked off the tour by the time I seen them, replaced by The Roots and Atari Teenage Riot.
In one of the songs done on this particular gig, Zach rocks so hard he falls on his ass. It's hilarious, he just full on falls flat on his back. Too filled with rage to even find the grip needed to stay upright.
I'm pretty sure it's Bullet in the Head from this concert.
@@Chad_Sandridge75 Yup, that's exactly it.
Morning fellas! I'm awake! Lol! Great choice for a Monday!!! They kick ass!! 💯🤓
There's not a better way to start the monday morning than with some rage against the machine. One of my all time favorite bands. 😊🤘
I wish I could have gone to some of their concerts back then.😊🤘🖤
Damn they were so ridiculously good
Imagine if when they went hard on this track live....u see the crowd holding up phones🙄
Pink pop festival, the Netherlands. I don’t think Tom wore a shirt onstage for the first half of the 90’s 😂 I absolutely love Zack’s old skool west coast fit!!!! Classic 90’s Cali vibes
If you two have ever thought of a reaction to a full album, Rage Against the Machine's self titled is a great way to go!!! This song's on it.
I believe you both would really appreciate listening to a Nordic band, "Wardruna! " Check out Isa song or Voluspa/ Vikings score with Trevor Morris and Polish orchestra!!
One of my favorite RATM songs! Their first two albums are absolutely flawless!
Zach joined Tool onstage with Maynard and sang the spoken Word on the track “Bottom” Lollapalooza (1993)
🌀👁🌀
I'm glad you finally reacted to this one..check out the song how can I just kill a man..idk who did the original version
Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m off outside to do some gardening now! 🌻
Hell Yeah!! ❤❤My favorite Rage song!!
In 1992: Rage Against the Machine hit the scene with a metal/funk/hip-hop fusion, whose lyrics were calling out systemic racism, police brutality, wealth inequality, and imperialism. As a highly politically charged band, they only released an album every 4 years....this left a void in the market, and over the decade, dozens (if not hundreds) of bands labeled "nu-metal" flooded that void with a similar sound, but no real message beyond "I'm sad and angry"
Socially attuned fans of Rage saw this as a step back, and a ploy by record labels to wash RATM out of the spotlight. (They would later have their whole discography banned from public radio after 2001)
This is why fans balk when RAtM is labeled Nu-metal, because to us, the genre was relentlessly promoted to drown out the very important message coming from Rage.
✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻
"No shelter" next:
They were forced by the record label (sony), to make a song for the godzilla soundtrack. So, they made a banger diss on media, Hollywood, and marketing. Somehow, it still managed to get approved and featured in the 1998 movie.
Hey there fellas. I saw Rage and Wu-tang back in the 90s. Great show. So do u think u fellas could react to Powershifter by my favorite band of course Fear Factory. Please and thanks
Zach de la Roche is at least a top ten tier rapper of all time imo. You don't see many rappers pulling those crowds.
Not....even....close!!
Right! Linkin Park brought big crowds too.
In metal sure, but for hip hop, he's not even top 1000. However, that's missing the point of RATM entirely. They're almost unique & incomparable so it's nigh on impossible to pigeon hole them. Zach was exactly who & what he needed to be to make RATM the force they were at that moment in time. It's kind of irrelevant where he ranks in terms of rapping ability as he's more of a activist & political poet than a rapper imo.
I'd agree with that, for me it's his lyrics, stage presence and that scream vocals that put him up at least higher than people give him credit for.
It's the music that brought the crowds, not the rapping, nor the subject matter
The 1992 debut album (self-titled) by Rage Against the Machine is an essential 90's record... It really got under the skin of the political & corporate class (Both parties!) cos RATM were talking about issues that no one wanted to touch... The fact that it was written and recorded before the L.A. riots of '92, they were on the case - talking about why the city was about to go up in flames ("Killing in the name of")
"Silence makes me sick..." is exactly how I feel, because I was raised in a home where I couldn't speak up for myself or I would get smacked! Looking back, that is how the authority keeps u under their thumb... which gives them the incentive to be lawless and unjust. You have to speak up against abuse and injustice in any form... or else, the bullies and bullhorns will continue to do what they always do without any consequences to their actions or policies.
They did tours with Wu Tang. Did tracks with KRS One and had been on 3 of 4 RTJ albums. So he's got the Atlanta connect these days. He has always been respected.
Rage against the Monday 😆 Also I like that Pittsburgh clue 😊
One of the few bands that I never got to tick off my list to see, sadly. Then and Pantera, I think I've seen all the rest I wanted to. Finalised got to see Tool in Manchester the other week and off to Amsterdam next week to see Avenged Sevenfold with my daughter! 😊
Hadn’t heard this one but it slaps super hard!
I saw RATM with Wu -Tang back in 97 it was one of the best concerts I’ve been too.
Hey hey from New England I was into RATM back into the day and saw them at Woodstock 99 and they rocked Tom Morello redefined what could be done with a guitar just like Monky and Head from KORN did with the 7 axes Also Brad Wilks is such an underrated drummer With that said my only problem was as they were singing about upending the establishment capitalism and other social topics they became millionaires in the process I'm a musician and I never played for $$ but I've also never passed up a paying gig lol so I get it but how can you rage against the machine while your taking $$ from the very pll you're singing about 🤔✌️🧐😎🤘
They address this themselves. They also are activists and use their money for such.
My boy going crazy on stage with a broken leg
Static-X "Sweat of the Bud"
They did a tour with public enemy around 1992. And this was the pinkpop festival
That turnip joke was pretty good man.
Sad they indefinitely stopped touring because Zack blew his Achilles from all the jumping he did on stage, but can say the man would leave it all but there for those who showed up
You should react to their song from The Crow called Darkness.
As A Thrash/Hair Metal/Grunge fan in 1993, Zach and RATM were held in high esteem, same as Public Enemy or Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy. But I'm kind of a socialist... Peace!!!
Wu-Tang toured with Rage in the summer of '97.
Tom Morello is a wizard
This is the best version of this song..
Feel like you boys would definitely like Loathe
"Loathe - Gored | Live at the Heavy Music Awards 2019" is well worth a listen
Feafuring Keagan michael key on guitar
Check out RATM - Calm Like a Bomb
Listen to Badflower's songs Heroin or Move Me.
Rage was the s back in the day when I was growing up I'm like what the hell is this being a metal head and then it's like oh hell yeah 👍
That baseline tho
Love RATM!
East coast sound =
"DC SOUND ATTACK" by CLUTCH
Zach's bars had way more weight than the average rapper.
He was talking about revolution, strife, politics.
Rappers today: Booty, money, cars, and drugs
Check out Snoop Bounce from Snoops greatest hits. Some members from rage team up and do a remix with Snoop and its really good.
Freedoms of speech for thee?!
Have u guys checked out BOMBTRACK? ... If not, u need to 🔥🤘🏽🔥
Yes next please react to Ratm ' without face '..thankyou guys
I've mentioned these guys like a thousand times but you guys should check out the band Flymore I believe they're from Russia and they sound a lot like Koяn
Check out from same album township rebellion very unrated but to my opinion one of the best lot of time goes under the radar
Crossover should have lived on
RAKIM...GOAT!!!!
90s East Coast? Nah, if any thing it was split.
What the hell took you guys so long to respond to this? Lol
Rage is not nu metal. They’re just on every nu metal playlist.
Please listen Toggle Switch From Achozen
There is only one "L" in "Fistful"
Is that true? 😂
Rage On Behalf Of The Machine should be their new name 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fuckin A!
On behalf of what machine, concerning what causes?
This comment (which I've seen DOZENS of times) is essentially saying:
"I don't want to get a Vax or wear a mask, so it's okay for police to unalive members of a certain race."
Stop parroting the suits and be a decent human.
Translation: "militarize the police because I don't wanna get a vax"
@@richardlandrum1966Rage for public health
This is why they say Gen X is tough and don’t give a sh!t JK
Horrible band, guitarist just makes feedback noises while the "singer" whines about political hot takes
Love their music but Zach was always a poser nothing more. Rage For The Machine.
Exactly
With all the rock and metal stuff you've listened to, are you still "rappers" at this point? Or you just use this title for clickbait purposes?
Considering they are rap artists that react to, and happen to enjoy other forms of music, how is this "clickbait"?
Troll elsewhere, fanboy...
