The only thing I found to keep me connected with this era of basketball is to keep playing basketball myself...it doesn't bring back time, and it doesn't refresh the memories of watching the man on court, but it keeps me connected to the feeling I had back then. MJ turned a game into a part of each of our lives...
I made me believe, if I free my mind... I'll have no limits. He was phenomeonal, and he kept that positive image for years... his name will live for generations!
I wasnt old enough to truly say i watched and remember when jordan played.....but it doesnt matter. watching this guy play in old games and even just his commercials inspires me. He's the embodiment of loving something, working at it, and having the desire to be the bst you can be. Thanks MJ. Im a witness
couldnt watched this vid. without shedding a tear.. he had so many struggles in his past and so many failures, but look at him now! we can all take an example from him, and keep on fighting for what we want to achieve, no matter how much you/we fail!
He did it all for himself, then his dad died and he did it all for him. It takes a great athlete to continue being great once your father dies young. Such an inspiration. His name will forever be remembered in Basketball
kobe and lebron are amazing, they make me say wow and get me pumped up. But MJ makes my hair stand on end and puts tears in my eyes and THAT is why he was, is and always will be the GOAT
mj went to college. lebron and kobe didn't so you can't really compare. but i think michael is the greatest of all time. his sportsmanship is also what makes him great. he dishes assists, he rebounds and he scores. he's an all around player.
It's impossible to capture Jordan's leadership and what he meant to the game on UA-cam. Sure you can watch highlights, but he was so much more than highlights. Watching UA-cam just serves to bring back firsthand memories of actually living it. There's a difference. That's why this is my favorite Jordan vid. I lived and died through all of these clips in Chicago.
Michael Jackson hands down has to be the greatest basketball player of all time! I got much respect for that man! Michael Jordan is one of my biggest motivators...He made me wanna make music and be the BEST at it! Should I dedicate a song??
watchin this commercial and the frozen moment commercial make me wish michael was playin again cuz he will forever be the best player the nba will ever have.
If Jordan would have emerged in this era as a rookie and done everything he did over, most of the players mentioned above would not have even gotten to the finals. Many teams battled the Bulls, but Jordan always came out on top.
this commerical is soo classy & sweet Michael is the all time best ever there will be nobody like him again lebron & kobe are the best now but will never be close to jordan. They're all their own players but Jordan gave birth to todays game & hows it played. Perfect commerical
There a HUGE difference between someone like Lebron, an amazing athlete, one of the greats of all time , without a doubt one of the best ever, and Michael Jordan. A literal Basketball icon. THE greatest basketball player to ever walk this earth. 6 times to the Finals, 6 world championships, 6 Finals MVP's. Nothing else needs to be said............
i always say "kobe is my favorite" and he is my favorite. But then i watch things like this and say to myself "N one can match this, not kobe, not lebron, no one." yea, kobe and lebron are good. but jordan is inspirational. jordan is the founder of a whole generation, and no one can take that away.
When it comes to MJ, the CURRENT generation of guards in the NBA, IDOLIZE him. His peers when he played, were in AWE of him & the players that played B4 him GREATLY admire him. That's WHY many consider him the G.O.A.T, even though I personally don't think there's such a thing. I DO however think he's the greatest 2-guard ever though..
Early in his career he was purely a scorer (mainly a slasher), and the common mantra against him was "scoring champions never win championships". Once he improved the rest of his game, his jumpshot, defense, passing, leadership, they were unstoppable.
Couldn't have said it any better myself, We have already WITNESSED the Greatest there ever was, is and ever will be, all the rest are just following the Blueprint.. Kobe, Lebron, Dwyane etc...
I'm right there with you. I will be the same way with my son. What a great era we lived in to have witnessed the greatest basketball player of all time. Just to think we also had Barry Sanders in the same era.
I'm so happy that i was born early enough to witness this incredible athlete. I find it insulting when somebody compares today's pansy nba players to this man, and anyone who knows anything about basketball will agree.
Jordan by far is the greatest, now there might be some people with more athleticism nowadays, but man, I watched 23 since i was 3 and ...(sighs), yall don't understand. This man has his number retired by the Miami Heat. He didn't even play for the HEAT!! Offense, defense, it was like watching Gretzky on the hardwood. I'm just glad that I can say, I watched that man, and loved every single moment of it, people can be better, maybe, but no one will EVER, EVER, forget MJ. Believe that.
my interpretation of the commercial is that we should be able to look back on where we came from, how we got to where we are today. When we look back, we must see that we have become somebody......
C'mon, there will never ever be another MJ. LeBron is great but he ain't got the magic Jordan had. And beside that, MJ was the best offensive player, the bast defensive player, the best team player and the toughest one. In one word Michael Jordan is God.
Every time i hear "Kobe this vs MJ that"... and "Kobe scored etc etc against today's defence"... MJ defined basketball the way we know it now... There will be nobody living up to that... There will be other greats no doubt, just like there were before MJ... But not close to him And for whoever says today's defence is the toughest yet... Watch the Pistons vs Bulls series and that may change your mind...
ya i agree. There isnt a player who rivals Jordan, not even Kobe. The man was the greatest, and for all we know, maybe the only one who could do what he did. Mr. Clutch
@ akbar, couldn't have said any better.. I remember those games clearly and jumpin up in the air when he pulled it.. Was the best feeling ever, felt like I was the one winning. Never will be another Jordan again, ever!!
#1 all time in PER #1 all time in ppg regular season #1 all time in ppg playoffs #1 all time in blocks for a guard #2 all time in steals #3 all time in rebounds for a guard . Greatest of All Time.
he probably will but not with the legendary status that Jordan is remembered with. Not to bash on Kobe, but Jordan will remain immortal and nobody can match that.
Michael Jordan is the greatest guard to ever play basketball. The numebr 23 in red and white is a beautiful thing to see. All players today care about is contracts and stats. Mj cared about winning, and guess what he ended up getting huge contracts and alot of stats while doing it. MJ didnt try to win, he simply won.
The game wasn't the same before Jordan, nor after Jordan. Much respect to those greats before and after him but how many times have we heard the saying "the next Jordan", with them only falling short. The league today is slowing proving that we may never see another Jordan again. His game was larger than the game itself.
My grandfather told my dad "I wish you could have seen Babe Ruth" My dad told me "I wish you could have seen Ali and Jim Brown" I will tell my son someday "I wish you could have seen Michael Jordan" Could not be more true. I grew up in Chicago throughout the Jordan era, there will never be anything like it again. And to all these kids posting how fast Lebron has gotten to 10,000 points or whatever, points don't matter. Jordan was so much more than points.
And thats a damn good sports sport announcer on TV cuz really no one does match up to Jordan. He Changed the NBA, Point Blank. Made them add a 3 second rule, made zone Defences so people aren't triple teamed anymore (Like Jordan was, while still averaging 30 points a game) and he even changed short shorts to longer shorts,. People talk about he should be the new logo for the NBA cuz, Jordan is point blank the best basketball player to play the game.
Agreed. Sad that the youth today can't see what the NBA has become : a league that is lacking in good teams and more importantly, lacking in fundamentals. No wonder ratings are down every year. Jordan was the most consistant performer i have ever seen, and he turned it up another notch during playoff time, and he did it every-single-time. Can't say that about Kobe who has been average compared to his regular season performances during playoff time. He even has inconsistencies in reg season.
no doubt Kobe is incredible, we've seen some spectacular stuff from him but there is a statue of Michael Jordan outside the United Area - on it, it says "Best there ever was. Best there ever will be." that just says it all Jordan is a legend
They were entirely different brands of basketball. The Jordan years saw the era of team basketball, fundamentals, defense, etc . The overlap of the late 90s-early 200s saw nothing but scoring wings and one on one basketball. As much as I love the Lakers, it was a Shaq and Kobe playing one on one against everybody else because they just had one scoring/athletic player. In this current era, its about having a duo or trio of players, with some role players around
I'm 23 going on 24 I remember following basketball since 1992-1993. so its been about 17-18 years of basketball Ive watched and you have to break this into about 3 eras. *First you have the Jordan-Rockets years of 1992-1998. *Then theres an overlap of about 1997-2003, *then now we are in the 2004-2010 era
I don't think he's more talented right now, just more ATHLETIC. KG has always had better fundamentals (esp better passing), intangibles (intensity), basketball IQ, and just overall grit. I like Bosh though, he's really talented as well.
Probably does, but he got there also because of his determination and fearlessness. I don't see that in Bosh. No doubting Bosh's physical skills though. And Bosh had Sam Mitchell, who also helped KG along his early playing days. May not be the best communicator, but if Bosh listens, he'd learn something.
This current era is probably better than the late 90s-early 2000s because that era had terrible fundamentals everybody was trying to be Jordan..whereas now we have players who try to be great players on their own. brandon roy is like a mitch richmond, wade like a Drexler etc, and we have a ressurgence of teams...however expansion and the lack of quality skilled players makes the NBA much more shallow in terms of talent. And its true that the NBA has changed the rules to make it easier to score.
I don't see what ranking people by a single game performance has to do with their legacy and place in the sport. Every legend in basketball will be remembered for something different, just let it be.
I got teary eyed when I watched this. He is the greatest that could ever play the game of basketball.
Same here, for us who got to watch him play growing up, we just don’t know how lucky we are
The only thing I found to keep me connected with this era of basketball is to keep playing basketball myself...it doesn't bring back time, and it doesn't refresh the memories of watching the man on court, but it keeps me connected to the feeling I had back then. MJ turned a game into a part of each of our lives...

This is really amazing and brough back good memories. You are the best of all times michael
He did it all for himself, then his dad died and he did it all for him. It takes a great athlete to continue being great once your father dies young. Such an inspiration. His name will forever be remembered in Basketball
amazing!
absolutely classic.
Jordan will always be the best to ever step on a court.
GOAT!!!!!! Perfection at the highest level
this video almost made me cry.... Greatest of all time...
this is the greatest fan made commercial ever
" We have already witnessed" .... enough said.
kobe and lebron are amazing, they make me say wow and get me pumped up. But MJ makes my hair stand on end and puts tears in my eyes and THAT is why he was, is and always will be the GOAT
mj went to college. lebron and kobe didn't so you can't really compare.

'We have already witnessed' with an ED. So there won't be another MJ. GOAT.
And as far as actual commercials go, nothing is better than the Frozen Moment. Nothing captures the awe Jordan inspired more perfectly.
watchin this commercial and the frozen moment commercial make me wish michael was playin again cuz he will forever be the best player the nba will ever have.
this video sends shrives down my spine. every single time I watch it.
If Jordan would have emerged in this era as a rookie and done everything he did over, most of the players mentioned above would not have even gotten to the finals. Many teams battled the Bulls, but Jordan always came out on top.
omfg i just cry every time i see this cuz of the passion of this vid is just so emotional it just makes me want to play basketball MJ is a god
this commerical is soo classy & sweet
Michael is the all time best ever
there will be nobody like him again
lebron & kobe are the best now but will never be close to jordan. They're all their own players but Jordan gave birth to todays game & hows it played. Perfect commerical

He made us all see how great we can be. if we tried hard enough. if we cared enough. there was never a thing... like Michael Jordan
That Utada Hikaru - First Love instrumental sounds pretty cool in the background of the commercial.

Music goes so well with video..amazing...greatest of all time..
First Love by Utada Hikaru
seriously the most beautiful commercial ive ever seen in my life
dam i miss watching him play. i havent watched basketball since he left.
Couldn't have said it any better myself, We have already WITNESSED the Greatest there ever was, is and ever will be, all the rest are just following the Blueprint.. Kobe, Lebron, Dwyane etc...
as a chicago bulls fan in my eyes there is no greater and will be no greater play to every paly the game than micheal jordan.
Thank you so much for putting this up!!
I'm right there with you. I will be the same way with my son. What a great era we lived in to have witnessed the greatest basketball player of all time. Just to think we also had Barry Sanders in the same era.

MJ gives me inspiration in playing basketball. ur the man MJ!
Jordan by far is the greatest, now there might be some people with more athleticism nowadays, but man, I watched 23 since i was 3 and ...(sighs), yall don't understand. never forgotten!
I'll say it once and I'll say it again. Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player that ever was and ever will be.
BEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME HANDS DOWN
music makes me shed a tear when i think about how lucky the nba was to have those highlights that drama by michael jordan
First Love by Utada Hikaru
my interpretation of the commercial is that we should be able to look back on where we came from, how we got to where we are today. When we look back, we must see that we have become somebody......

okay this is just touching
great great editing, this sin't a nike commerical, but i wouldnt have been able to tell the difference. great job
He still set the standards for greatnes determination and lidership, you will need to take the michael jordans heart out to beat him. amaizing

i'm a huge laker/kobe fan, but as great as kobe is, no one will ever EVER be able to touch his airness
I cried that day, when he left professional basketball, i guess every good thing must come to an end..

beautiful
amazing. it seems enough is never enough for michael jordan.
dat shit gave me goosebumps it starts wit his 6th championship and ends as him being a rookie
You know who I feel for, Byron Russell. He was schooled by Mike so many times and is in so many clips, it's humiliating.
We need Mike back.
It's alright man we all have different callings in life. What I'm good at now is different from my "dream" as a kid.
I don't think he's more talented right now, just more ATHLETIC. KG has always had better fundamentals (esp better passing), intangibles (intensity), basketball IQ, and just overall grit. I like Bosh though, he's really talented as well.
Is that "First Love" by Utada Hikaru playing the background? That is too cool.
Great Point
i love this video
The only human being I have ever been in awe of.
Probably does, but he got there also because of his determination and fearlessness. I don't see that in Bosh. No doubting Bosh's physical skills though. Thats a great phrase Patsfan1228
and he never will...michael is the best there ever was, and the best there ever will be!!
This just wants to make me cry. =)
great post
this is si inspiring
wow i also got goosebumps
Who ever gotthe idea to flip the witness slogan should get a raise andmore free jordans!
thats good "we have already witnessed"
GOAT. Period. FOREVER. EVER.
Yeah I remember when he they won and he said it for his dad on fathers day. It was sad to see him breakdown.

SO TRUE.....WHAT A GREAT VIDEO!!
jordan and bob marley, my idol..
if anyone could tell me the title of the piano piece that would be great.i'mworking on a b-ball mix and this music would really add to it.
I don't see what ranking people by a single game performance has to do with their legacy and place in the sport. Every legend in basketball will be remembered for something different, just let it be.
Thanks
Best ever...no doubt
Best Basketball player of all time.
the greatest!!!!!!
