i love how you can tell which comments were made before and after downpour was released without looking at the dates
Omg hi Texas Red
Remember how it was a hardcore survival game about little cat that lost his family?
Sadly no, I was never around when that happened. Rain World has turned into so much more then that.
@Voreoptera they mean when you first start survivor or monk, the first cutscene
"Perhaps that is why you need to wake up, little visitor."
"What a horrifying destiny you've found."
A little green bean, destined to save everyone, but can never save themselves.
A true Saint, willing to sacrifice their own freedom for everyone else's.

the best part about this ending
is the fact you get The Cycle achievement as soon as Saint reappears (at least, it did for me)
They even timed the achievement unlocking to match the scene
Yeah, was also perfect timing for me. I felt like my heart just sank when that happened

From the dialogue between the iterators *Secluded Instinct* and *Wondering Omen* (one of Spearmaster's broadcasts):
*WO:* I'm getting dusty.
*WO:* Dusty and old.
*SI:* Aren't we all? But surely you know the old anecdote about the building up of dust.
*WO:* That the ground keeps building upwards, trying to touch the sky?
*SI:* Yes! I find that idea quite comforting, actually.
*SI:* To know that while now l'm a superstructure, in the future I'll be a mountain.
*SI:* Doesn't that fill your spirit with anticipation?

Reclaiming entropy is a clever name if you think about it
I used to think this didn't fit Rain World. I still think that! But in Saint's ending, that's actually a good thing.
It's been thousands, perhaps millions of years since the Noble Benefactors departed. The iterators are turning into mountains. As the old world died, the music came to reflect that.
This is New World's theme.

It's kind of sad to think that this'll be the final canon expansion of the Rain World... World. While Rivulet's campaign was the ending to the story, that of Pebbles and Moon, Saint's campaign is an epilogue to that and an ending to the story of the world.
Has it been confirmed we will never get more big canon rainworld content? Thats sad but understandable
@LaClara we will get more rain world content, one of the patch notes involving talking about the new price says something simular to this "the reason rain world price has gone up Is because the original rain world represented a finished game, meanwhile the new price represents an unfinished game showing that we want to keep adding more content to rain world"
@@bananafone1414 while i love that they're adding more content, i don't know how they will surpass this ending (if they do end up adding something as major as new endings, which i heavily doubt)

“What a horrifying destiny you’ve found”

This song is such a god damn gut punch.
I can see why they didn’t put this in as it didn’t really fit with Deep Light, but I still kinda wish it made it in at least as a Easter egg, or maybe they could add it in when “2.0” comes out, if what I heard was true. this song is just too good... kinda reminds me of hollow knight lol
Doesnt really sound like something from the original hollow knight tbh. More like something from silksong with the choice of instruments.

I literally just got chills listening to this again
When i got here i was so sad that there wasn't any more to do, as i was playing on console, so i beat the game again on a different console, then bought it on pc, played through the game again, then tried mods. This is a nearly perfect game, and the second game to keep me wanting more after playing it for so long.
I think rainworld itself represents how everything just always repeats, from the cycle of water, rock, life, and even the end of a galaxy will make another galaxy form, truly philosophical.
death, life, a loop of pain that you will never be free from. it's existance is like a chain to your chest that will never unravel no matter how hard you try. this song really encapcilates how there is never a real end to life, time, existance, pain, sorrow, loss, destruction, and everything inbetween. it really feels like the end of a story that didn't start.

I really like this one. I think its better than the actual one in the game
Feels more emotionally impactful honestly. The current one sounds kinda... dead. Kind of in a good way, but also in a bad, sort of boring way. There are other songs in the RW soundtrack that sound distant and dead in a better way IMO, like that one cut ELSE song. (you can tell which one it is because it doesn't have the echo name next to it, just the ELSE title)
The Nose Deep Light is still pretty good though, but there’s definitely a difference. It’s executed very well; right after you’ve gone through a rollercoaster of emotions.
How do you feel now?

Wat r u doin here
God this song is so good and it feels like it portrays rain world perfectly: 0:00- 0:22 is for the journey Slugcat undergoes 0:22- 0:44 is for the strange and even magical things they came across. Such as the iterators and the echos. 0:44- 1:07 is for the dangers they encountered. And finally 1:07-1:35 is for ascension and closure. The journey that Slugcat goes through is finally put to rest
I listened to this song so many times in the past and here I am again. Everything comes full circle...
The cycle repeats itself
hearing this after completing all expedition goals hit different
Shook me so hard omggg 😭💖💕
ong, banger ending
Pictures of the past...
It almost seems like Saint does this by choice. As though them blasting the void worm in the face is an act of defiance against the idea of ascending itself, something Saint wholly rejects for themself so that they may give it to others...
Makes me wonder, is it really a "dream" in the sense it isn't real, or in the sense that Saint will never accept that reality coming to be and will always cause it to be undone?
I love how it almost sounds Hollow Knight-esque! Rain World is one of if not my favorite games of all time, the music is INCREDIBLE, the gameplay is super fun, but the main complement is of course, the story! It is pretty cool to play through vanilla and see all the cool regions, you get used to everything, but then downpour comes and hits you like a TRUCK. You get to witness the most chilling events, Moon's last broadcast, Pebbles getting the rot so badly that the whole REGION is renamed, and then we have saint. Far in the future, where it snows, which if you decide to go up the wall, you will soon realize why there is a glaring lack of rain. Hes fallen, its over, he couldnt do it. You go through hell, to find the two iterators finally seeing each other, everything is just... glorious, while The Cycle plays in the background, a reverse of your first moments in this world. You travel through the void, stripped of your karma, then you become an echo,
*the cycle repeats, an endless dripping of time forever repeating, you will wake back up again*
I love this game. so. much.
Thank you, Rain World team, for making this incredible game, it is one of the best experiences I have ever witnessed, and I'm so incredibly glad to have stumbled upon this seemingly innocent game.

What an ending to rainworld, the saint finds there way to the void "sky?" After ascending countless creatures and before this happens we get to meet out old friends five pebbles and moon one last time in rainworld before we ascend into the void sea, the saint goes in and makes the foolish choice of ascending the void worm, thus becoming an echo and your karma goes down to 0, your screen flies upwards into the sky into sky islands the saint spawn, saint is forever trapped in a limbo between life and death, exsistence and nonexsistence forced to ascend everything until only it remains wandering alone yet unable to ascend itself, so therefore the siant will never get any bitches
I still believe saint is the strongest character in fiction
It is hard to aim with his ability, it has short action time, and it does not oneshot guardians and fully functional iterators so those outpower him pretty easily if actually try
This makes me feel strange things now

you know. I wonder why the ancients never attempted to expand into space.
they all wanted to die expanding the empire would be the opposite to that. they even said somewhere in the dialogue we are "blessed with an ever shrinking population". space colonies would do the opposite of this.
@@Valgweeni have read the pearl logs. When i asked this question i was wondering why the thought that the solution might not be on the planet they are on. And about the population expanding. Ancients would likely ban reproduction in space. Or if a mission is longer than they're lifespan or something like that they might allow a number of children but no more than the amount of people on the ship.
Or maybe there is a religious thing that states that the solution is on the planet they are on.
@@BARCINO-du4dg that does make me wonder if other planets have their own void seas.

Poor saint
You can never escape the cycle
funny downpour spoiler warning (YOU’RE AT SAINTS ENDING SONG WHY ARE YOU HERE IF NOT FOR SPOILERS- regardless)
Saint turning into an echo made me think. This is .. likely what all echoes go through.
Entering the void sea but not being ‘ ready ‘ to ascend, you’re basically.. rejected by the worms in the funny worm pond, and forced back up. But, you can’t go back to your life, it’s too late. You can’t. So your life literally flashes before your eyes, as the only thing tying you to your body - karma - is stripped away. Your body morphs and changes, something between existence and non-existence, never quite reaching both. And you return, to a place of some importance to you, stuck watching the very cycles you wished to be free of. (Judging by how the echoes talk about their places + post-rubicon saint showing up where it’s journey began, the echo locations are probably just.. places the echoes found important. Not much else. )
Saint was already an echo before the campaign, just not in the usual sense.
@@TheRealNSH saint had to have become an echo in order to be one.
So it’s just.. exactly what probably happens when one becomes an echo.
@@south452 Yes, but Saint was never a traditional echo, they retain a physical for each time they are sent back. If you want to know what its really like then watch the Nine Drops of Blood, Deathly Solace episode of the iterator logs (The KomodoAxolotl ones, not the Daszombes ones.)
@@TheRealNSH is that canon? At all?
Besides. They’re always going to end up an echo fully because the cycle is more than just ‘ things don’t die ‘ it’s that ‘ *things will loop right back around.* ‘
So, an echo nonetheless.
@@south452 dude, things looping back around has nothing to do with the cycle. That is referring to how karma works in real life and how Saint keeps getting sent back.
