I feel like that MKX is generally better in terms of fatalities, but some are hit-or-miss. For example, both of Reptiles fatalities suck in MKX, but his MK9 Fatalities were good.
This game is one of the best fighting games ive ever played on PS3. As an old school MK fan from the 90s it pretty captures MK in all its essence from the story to the costomes and the violence. My favourite characters are Baraka, Raiden, Scorpion, Sub Zero, Stryker, Johhny Cage, Noob Saibot, Kung Lao, Rain, Kenshi & finally Kratos. I especially love Baraka's second costume with the spiked shoulder pads as well as Striker's swat body armour outfit, Johhny Cage's light blue tuxedo suit and Raiden's all black samurai inspired armour costume with the torn up cape. This game is a must buy and Im really looking forward to what NRS comes up with next with MK 10 on the next generation consoles in the future.

Oh god, the Krypt. I remember when (PAUSE: you mortal kombat fans know what I'm about to say here) I ran into the fucking jumpscare without ever knowing about it until I found it myself. Now I never go to the Krypt anymore.
The main problem I have is that the sound volume of the entire game is so damn low. All to have that silly joke in there. I have the TV super-loud and I can't hear anything unless I plug the sound on home-theater speakers. Compare it to the sound of other games or the volume of the system you're playing on. Why can't you disable it after you've seen it so you don't have to play with your remote every time you play?
I found the game volume pretty ridiculous too. I wish you could just disable it. BUT the good thing is that Nether Realm isn't mean enough to just empty your bowls from the jumpscare and leave you there searching for cute puppy videos on the internet and instead the jumpscare gives you a ton of Koins!

Hell it has actually quite a bit more content than X. I mean sure the DLC characters weren't in the core game, and you had to pay another $40 for a premium version. But it's not like it's difficult. Plus the FUN AI battles. Yeah you don't fight but they do unlock more skins and augments for characters.
I find it cool how Mortal Kombat can turn mistakes/ideas into cool characters. Take Ermac for example, he was a glitch during the older days of Mk, and now he's a badass telekinesis Ninja. there was even one fan who wanted to make a statue of smoke (or sub-zero, I can't remember) but they fucked it up, yet the statue ended up as a Canon Mortal Kombat character called 'Chrome' (picture the Umk3 palette-swap suit in white with blades for hands like in Terminator Genysis)
I'm afraid MKX can't be as good as MK9 because of the lack of tag team mode. That mode is why I love the game so much. So much time spent playing tag team with my friend, kickin' ass together.
Tag team was actually very broken and underplayed, though, so NRS didn't really bother bringing it back. I found it fun but there were definitely reasons for it not coming back

For anyone that have the game on PC: you can actually download a mod for the PC version that let you play as Shao Kahn, Goro and Kintaro by adding them in your list of characters. Although if you plan to download this mod and play with your friends i'll have just one useful tip: do NOT have anyone play as Shao Kahn unless he really sucks at the game. Even in Versus mode he is super OP.

I absolutely LOVED THIS GAME and I just LOVED how cinematic and movie-worthy the story mode was in this game. It’s so rare that a fighting game has truly well-written story but Netherrealm Studios has perfected the art of storytelling in fighting games with this game here.
8 years later, Netherrealm studios went backwards on a lot of things from greedy and grindy mobile gaming annoyances, a smaller roster at launch with a handful being characters that no one loves, krypt being lootbox simulator, x-rays becoming lame fatal blows, unnecessary political nonsense in a few characters, always online game. Still looking forward to Joe's review.
Love MK1-3 though i'm terrible at them because I'm 16 & modern games are extremely easy compared to older games, I played MK 4 mostly when I was little, Hated Deadly Alliance - Deception (except for Shaolin Monks), but I loved Armageddon for some reason.
It's nice that its backwards compatible with Xbox One/Series now, too bad you can't buy it digitally anymore through the Xbox Store, I find it hard to find disc games anywhere without resorting to pawn shop, basically playing gamble with money to bet if the disc actually works or not.
Despite not being good at fighting games in general, I always prefer MK games over any other fighting games, though I have yet to fully play the latest BlazBlue or Skullgirls, which are ones I wanted to play. I was never interested in Street Fighter, Tekken, MvC, or Injustice
+Oracle of Games it's a big adjustment gameplay wise, but I highly recommend it. Problem is not many people play it on 360 these days. I think the newer Blazblue would have more people, but honestly? Think about getting Killer Instinct if you don't already have it. That game has a lot of value if you get the Definitive Edition, and it's easy to get into (If you stick to combo assist). It's pretty fun, just started playing that and MK X today.
+Oracle of Games ah. In that case. Skullgirls, try Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Keep in mind these games will only be fun if you put a little time into learning them, even if only to a basic level

Same thing was done for my favorite zombie survival game State of Decay. It was fought to bring it to australians but was unable to unless they changed some of the names of of some of the "drugs" and icons for them.
Sir Cameltoe yep, it's orbital's halcyon on and on - GREAT track!!!! If you like that you should listen to the trance track "In and Out of Phase" from Matt Lange & Andrew Bayer. Very similar in style.
The only issue i always have with all mk games is that the character design was pretty generic. Sure in the 90' looking at the recolored photos move and rip off their spines was pretty cool but today is a bit lackluster.
super easy fix for spamming in fighters: STAMINA BAR! Dark Souls got this right, and the PVP is amazing for it, requiring balancing and thinking carefully about how you attack and defend. Why I've never seen this in fighting games I'll never know.
What spaming ? :D you mean the zooneing. if you pick the right character and you're skilled enough you can deal with it preaty easy it requires skill fighting games aren't noob friendly you have to explore the game in order to have fun with it it might hard but once you get it you woun't be dissapointed :)
Fighting games go through alot of balance to make sure that spamming can be countered easily,and i really dont think adding a stamina bar in a fighting game would work,especially since we already have super meters to manage
so bad laggsousl 2 has a peer to peer system, and their netcode sucks , dont get me wrong, i love the souls series, but laggers are such a cancer for the online experience
I hope in the next MK (which i have just read they are currently making) they have a 14 hour long story mode :D Its deff the best part of the game. Like Joe says its like the MK movie they never made.

Wow, I thought the online lag was because of my internet, but it turns out it happens to EVERYBODY. It was actually really hard to tell if the other people were experiencing lag though, because they fight pretty well while I kept getting my ass handed to me because it took the game FOREVER to register the fact that I had pressed a button. Mortal Kombat X doesn't really have a chance of being better than this masterpiece.

Love MK1-3 though i'm terrible at them because I'm 16 & modern games are extremely easy compared to older games, I played MK 4 mostly when I was little, Hated Deadly Alliance - Deception (except for Shaolin Monks), but I loved Armageddon for some reason.
JUMBO DEUCE monks was cool. im ok with the 3rd game in the series. personally i think mkx is good, but i really hate how easy they made fatalities.

Gameplay is good but everything else is too grindy and bad but I still like it
It's nice that its backwards compatible with Xbox One/Series now, too bad you can't buy it digitally anymore through the Xbox Store, I find it hard to find disc games anywhere without resorting to pawn shop, basically playing gamble with money to bet if the disc actually works or not.

Despite not being good at fighting games in general, I always prefer MK games over any other fighting games, though I have yet to fully play the latest BlazBlue or Skullgirls, which are ones I wanted to play. I was never interested in Street Fighter, Tekken, MvC, or Injustice
If you're more of an MK guy, skullgirls might be a bit rough. MK is pretty unique
Vergil is OP I'm mostly considering Skull Girls for the art style
+Oracle of Games it's a big adjustment gameplay wise, but I highly recommend it. Problem is not many people play it on 360 these days. I think the newer Blazblue would have more people, but honestly? Think about getting Killer Instinct if you don't already have it. That game has a lot of value if you get the Definitive Edition, and it's easy to get into (If you stick to combo assist). It's pretty fun, just started playing that and MK X today.
Vergil is OP well note I only have PS3 and PS4, so Killer Instinct isn't an option for me, unless it's on PS4 now
+Oracle of Games ah. In that case. Skullgirls, try Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Keep in mind these games will only be fun if you put a little time into learning them, even if only to a basic level

Same thing was done for my favorite zombie survival game State of Decay. It was fought to bring it to australians but was unable to unless they changed some of the names of of some of the "drugs" and icons for them.

Really thought it was amazing when I started the story mode and there was a real story. Pretty much a standard I wanna see in every game now.
The only issue i always have with all mk games is that the character design was pretty generic. Sure in the 90' looking at the recolored photos move and rip off their spines was pretty cool but today is a bit lackluster.
They should remaster this. I would buy it on current gen.

super easy fix for spamming in fighters: STAMINA BAR!
Dark Souls got this right, and the PVP is amazing for it, requiring balancing and thinking carefully about how you attack and defend. Why I've never seen this in fighting games I'll never know.
What spaming ? :D you mean the zooneing. if you pick the right character and you're skilled enough you can deal with it preaty easy it requires skill fighting games aren't noob friendly you have to explore the game in order to have fun with it it might hard but once you get it you woun't be dissapointed :)
Fighting games go through alot of balance to make sure that spamming can be countered easily,and i really dont think adding a stamina bar in a fighting game would work,especially since we already have super meters to manage
so bad laggsousl 2 has a peer to peer system, and their netcode sucks , dont get me wrong, i love the souls series, but laggers are such a cancer for the online experience
A stamina bar in a fighting game like this would be extremely stupid. It'd completely ruin the flow.

Wow, I thought the online lag was because of my internet, but it turns out it happens to EVERYBODY. It was actually really hard to tell if the other people were experiencing lag though, because they fight pretty well while I kept getting my ass handed to me because it took the game FOREVER to register the fact that I had pressed a button. Angry Joe, I salute you for having the most accurate Mortal Kombat review EVER! :D
