As a Vietnamese American, I used your recipe to make chicken and dumplings for the very first time. Only thing I did different (due to availability) was used seasoning salt for the flour mix and for the soup instead of seasoning with salt & pepper at the end I used chicken better than bouillon (about 1 TBLS). It was a hit with my family! Better than any restaurant and obviously surpasses any canned soup. Thank you so much for the video.
First thank you for the recipe, the only difference in your chicken and dumplings and in mind is that I don't use a homemade dumpling what I use is pie crust... Preferably the Betty crocker pie crust that's frozen just let it thaw out a little bit roll it down and cut it into quarters and they will come out magnificent other than that maybe we some relatives and I don't know LOL...😊

I’ve been cooking for years, and I grew up on a farm, and we made everything from scratch, and I still do. I was 10 years old when I learned how to make homemade biscuits and homemade bread and homemade cinnamon rolls. My mother was an excellent cook and baker and she has eight daughters and all of us are excellent cooks... some of them don’t care to bake. But I find your channel to be very relaxing and interesting and there’s always something I can learn from you. For example, we did not roll our dumplings out into a ball like you did but instead, we got two spoons and scooped one into the batter and dropped it into the slightly boiling broth. It’s very important. You don’t have a rapid boil because it will break your dumplings apart. but watching your channel I realize there’s validity in rolling them out in advance because it lets them dry out in the air a little bit and that Hass to help them stay together while they’re cooking better. I can tell you enjoy cooking and listening to you. It becomes that much more obvious. I never watch one of your videos but what I don’t get hungry. My husband passed away almost 7 years ago next month and I still cook for 2 to 6 people… I end up freezing the extras so I don’t have to cook every night. I’m going to send your recipe for these dumplings to several of my sisters so that we can all try this recipe and see what we think and comparison to our mothers. I’m not for certain, but I think, I’m going to be using your recipe in the future. Thank you for your great kitchen recipes and your great kitchen presence….. I know this is going to be delicious this is a wonderful dish. I hope you'll make a turkey pot pie soon and a beef pot pie. I always like to slither up shallots purple yellow and red bell peppers. Garlic chives and a pinch of onion chives I think is a wonderful delicious part. Some yellow and purple carrots minced and to find pieces I've had them with diced up sweet potatoes and it was so delicious. Everything you bring is wonderful A.B. some of this I may not all know how to prepare but I certainly have prepared different types that it brings me back to some wonderful recipes I'll start over again with the new twist this one I would do what a x x o Martel cognac just to give a different taste to it lots of Rosemary fresh cut up and thyme and oregano. I used your recipe and I personally liked it. I dont have much experience with american food and the past two times I tried to make this dish following other recipes, it didnt work out. I felt that I was successful this time but I was told that this was not a southern style way of making it and that I should have added sage and removed apple cider vinegar. Tough crowd...Thank you still for your help and putting this out there

Hey AB. I always forget how easy chicken and dumplings can be. You gave me an idea about the biscuits. If i don't want to make the dumplings myself, I can use the can biscuits. Thanks for sharing. BTW, you're look I've always had them rolled and cut in strips, but why not change it and eat them your way. I'll give it a try.

I've used canned biscuits also but using frozen buttermilk biscuits that are thawed is 10000 better,try it!

I know this is going to be delicious this is a wonderful dish. I hope you'll make a turkey pot pie soon and a beef pot pie. I always like to slither up shallots purple yellow and red bell peppers. Garlic chives and a pinch of onion chives I think is a wonderful delicious part. Some yellow and purple carrots minced and to find pieces I've had them with diced up sweet potatoes and it was so delicious. Everything you bring is wonderful A.B. some of this I may not all know how to prepare but I certainly have prepared different types that it brings me back to some wonderful recipes I'll start over again with the new twist this one I would do what a x x o Martel cognac just to give a different taste to it lots of Rosemary fresh cut up and thyme and oregano. so we all just ate,i made this just like you did accept i had to use apple juice with a little apple cider vinegar ,and i didnt have pepper corns but let me tell you,that broth and the chicken omg too good,thank you for this recipe,next time im gonna make cream of chicken and rice ,same exact way you did it here but with no dumplings,but rice ,this was the best soup broth i ever tasted,thanks again 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I used your recipe and I personally liked it. I dont have much experience with american food and the past two times I tried to make this dish following other recipes, it didnt work out. I felt that I was successful this time but I was told that this was not a southern style way of making it and that I should have added sage and removed apple cider vinegar. Tough crowd...Thank you still for your help and putting this out there

Yes. Your dumplings are more like what my mom used to make...except she just dropped the spoons of dough into the bubbling pot. It was really good.
