    I'm strongly considering these either t1650 or t1675 for blasting heavy rock and metal. Am I on the right track? Are these better than the r series?

    • @rockfordfosgate

      Yes, the T1650 and T1675 speakers are designed for Sound Quality. The progression is as follows:
      - Prime Series (R) [good]
      - Punch Series (P) [better]
      - Power Series (T) [best]

    I daily my 2011 Corolla S with a front stage kenwood component system and 6x9s on the rear deck running on a p600.4, but I want to know exactly what Rockford speakers I can use pushing the p600.4. Will the T-1675-S work for the front, if paired with a couple T-1692s? (I also have 2 Savard 12s powered by the P1000 and there are no words...)

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  2 роки тому

      The P600X4 amplifier is rated at 75 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm and 150 Watts x 4 @ 2-Ohm, so it has plenty of power to drive any type of speaker you wish.
      Both the T1675-S and T1692 are rated to handle 100 watts RMS, so these will match with the P600X4 amplifier just fine.

    I have 2018 Camaro convertible with no amp , already bought 6.5 t1675-s for the back panel and installed them ( sound is better but lower than the stock ) , also bought t1693 6•9 for the front and did not install yet in the front doors as am not sure yet if the depth will cause any trouble or not but planning to install soon and hopefully they will fit - the guy who did the installation said I need an amp otherwise the sound will not be high - which one should I get considering that the convertible roof is almost taking the full trunk space and I can’t even put a sub

      Hi Khaled, yes we would also recommend running amplifier power. Since you will be powering all 4 speakers, you could certainly use the PBR400X4D or the P400X4, both rated at 50W per channel at 4-ohm:

    Why does my p1650 sound cleaner than the t1650?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  7 місяців тому

      I’m assuming these speakers are being analyzed immediately next to each other and are wired in parallel to the same channel of the amplifier. Otherwise there are variables that can affect the sound.
      They both use the same cone and surround but the biggest difference is the tweeter. The P1650 uses a 0.75” PEI dome tweeter and the T1650 uses a 1” aluminum dome tweeter. It’s personal preference but the T series should have lower frequency extension in the tweeter range. However, different people like different tweeter types. It’s important not to confuse “loudness” for “better sound”.

      @@familiacruz1981 Let's qualify that ... if you are going to run 2 speakers on 1 channel, you can run up to 200 Watts to both speakers. However, if you are installing 1 speaker per channel (1 on front-left, 1 on front-right, etc), the amplifier should produce no more than 100 watts per channel.

    Currently running t2652-s front and rear t1650 coaxial with p400x4 do you recommend me upgrading amp if so which one is perfect?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Eloscar 57, Let's take a look at the power handing of the speakers (see below) and the amplifier power output:
      • T2652-S = 100 Watts RMS
      • T1650 = 75 Watts RMS
      The P400X4 is rated to produce 50 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm RMS, and can Dynamically generate up to 82 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm. This is still under the RMS power handling of the speakers so it's a perfect match. You could update to the P600X4 since it's rated at 75 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm RMS, and can Dynamically produce up to 129 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm. This will exceed the power rating of the speakers, but with proper gain adjustment (CLEAN) and conservatively driving the system (not very hard,) this amplifier could effectively be used.
      The only downfall is you won't get that much louder. The power increase from 50W to 75W is only 25W and would increase system output to about +1.8 dB. Since +1dB is the slightest change in loudness detected and +3dB is a noticeable difference, you may determine it wasn't worth the upgrade based on the level of loudness increase.

    • @eloscar5738
      @eloscar5738 3 роки тому

      @@rockfordfosgate ok thank you so much also i have a set of p165-se that I can replace the t1650 coaxial would that be louder ? I want loudness and clearness as possible if you would reply that would be great

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  3 роки тому

      @@eloscar5738 The P165-SE sensitivity is 88dB @ 1w/1m and the T1650 sensitivity is also 88dB @ 1w/1m. While simply changing them out will have absolutely no change in loudness, there will be a sound quality difference between the 2 drivers with the T series having a slightly more natural sound.

    Question: I am looking at purchasing the T1572 power 5x7 2way full range speakers for the rear and the 4inch for the front... What amp would I need to use with this combination ?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Tim, great question! The T1572 are rated to handle 70 Watts RMS and the T142 are rated to handle 40 Watts RMS. We would strongly suggest using 12dB/octave crossovers HP on both, and most certainly the T142. Any of these amplifiers will be a great match. I added the 5-channel in case you wanted to drive a sub too:
      P400X4: 50W x 4 (www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/p400x4/)
      P1000X5: 75 Watts x 4 + 300 Watts x 1 @ 2-Ohm (www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/p1000x5/)
      T400-4: 60 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm (test.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/t400-4/)

      FIrst, thanks for looking at Rockford Fosgate since you've been a long term KW user. I know you're looking for a fanatic's perspective, but wanted to chime in here. If you have an SUV and are looking for heavy bass, your best still using a traditional subwoofer since it can move a lot of air. However, if you're looking at reducing the size of your box, the POWER SLIM subwoofers fit this requirement, yet still have the performance characteristic of traditional Power T1 subwoofers! It's amazing technology. Here are some links while you search for other reviews:

      My advice to you on this would be this. Kenwood makes a decent product but it doesnt hold up with Rockford Fosgate. 2 big things i will suggest you be aware of. Rockford Fosgate rates their amps and subs differently than Kenwood. 500 watts of Kenwood power is like ummmm thats usually a peak rating and even the rms rating isnt near what you might think but the price wont be so bad maybe. Ok Rockford Fosgate is the exact opposite of that. 500 watts of Rockford Fosgate power you are flirting with having to have the pro level subs or power they call em now. The T1 and above subs years ago where pro series. Look just like the others at a glace but in tiny print say pro series. That comes my second point. As great as like the prime series and p1 subs are im sure. Understand there is a HUGE difference in base level budget subs by rf and the top level power subs and amps. The difference in a 4 cylinder toyota and a ls440 lexus. Same company day light and dark difference. The last thing that i can suggest is like all stereo equipment its important to hook up right well it is you cant stress this enough with rockford fosgate stuff. You gotta match amps to speakers right and do NOT skip out on this. You gotta use top notch wireand connectors and you gotta have these speakers installed right. Subs the enclosure is more important than the brand itself. Sub enclosure and correct amp choice is everything. Id look to spend as much on the install and wires as system itself otherwise you are defeating the purpose. Just saying.

    • @mattwoodardtn
      @mattwoodardtn 5 років тому

      If you cant build an enclosure like a pro get someone who can otherwise buy a pre enclosed box! Crap box with good subs is so bad. Its gross and sounds awful.

    Can you tell me if the t-1650 (6.5 coaxial) will fit in the doors of a 2012 kia soul? Or would i be better off with t-1675?
    AND....
    Would either speaker do well with a P600.4 amp powering them? (4 channel mode)

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  6 років тому

      It looks like they will both fit. Obviously you may need a trim ring with the slightly smaller speaker. As for depth, the T1650 is 2.52" and the T1675 is 2.51", so they are nearly identical.

    • @c0uchsl0uch
      @c0uchsl0uch 6 років тому

      Rockford Fosgate thanks, will both speaker options be suitable for the p600x4 ?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  6 років тому +1

      Certainly, just be sure to set your gain overlap at 0dB or +5dB (if it's not loud enough) for the high frequency speakers and you should be fine.

    • @c0uchsl0uch
      @c0uchsl0uch 6 років тому

      Rockford Fosgate what do you mean "gain overlap"?
      Set gain as to not overpower the t-1675 ?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  6 років тому

      If you have the P600X4, then the amplifier has the C.L.E.A.N. system, so when you setup the gains, you'll use the 1kHz track at 0dB to set the output LEDs. Yes, this will setup the amplifier so you don't over power the speakers.
