Very solid video, thank you!! looking to boost my 04 GT in the near future
Your videos are always great 🔥🔥I’m about to do that to my cammed GT just tryna figure out what route to do
Nice video. Love white new edges!
Soon as I seen this guy in front of the car instant sub
E85 and boost is like a match made in heaven
Also great advice on the supercharger vs turbo. I made the switch from supercharger to turbocharger 8 years ago when I tossed a forged bottom end in. The power increased immediately by 140 whp and 200 ft lbs at the tires with only a 3 psi bump.. but I never drive it now, feels like I am always screwing with the hot side pipes to eliminate leaks. Everytime you work on the car it seems like the hot side comes out which makes a project twice as long.
I don't really believe that you talking about 140hp on just 3lbs of boost.
Your pretty much saying you made 50 lbs of boost on just 1lbs you gonna have to show me a video of this on the Dyno because I'm not believing that until I see it.........if you have a video of you making 40/50lbs of boost on just 1lbs of boost please post it because I have got to see this.
I think you should keep it as is. The stock bottom end can only handle up to 500 hp. But, you risk hurting the engine @ 500 and definitely it will not last as long as she should. For street/strip 3.73 is perfect. 3.55 are great highway gears. I run on 27 inch tall tires with 3.73's and brought it down to 3.6ish. Thinking of a Paxton Novi 2100 SL SC. It's has a zex system with a progressive 30%/70% shot and other mods.
I loved my 99 GT with a vortech supercharger that I put on with a bunch of other mods too. I went with 3.73 gears but for the guys who are just going with bolt ons i would go with 4.11 and I went with the centerforce dual friction clutch
thanks great info, I've been on the fence fro which way to go.
Sad the only way I can get answers on my Vic is to watch Mustang videos 😂
I was going to get this done to my 04 mustang GT dark shadow gray automatic but when I found out the cost. I decided to just enjoy the car as is and I found a 14 mustang GT sterling gray and a 6 speed transmission and bought it so now I can enjoy both cars for what they have to offer. And they both feel good and next thinking about the2024 gray horses
I’ve got 4:10 gears it really woke the car up on the low end gearing is all preference.
Great video
Thanks!
Haven't touched mine in 170k miles. Replacing the rotating assembly and tossing a KB 2.1 on it for a fun street car.
Add a set of mhs blower cams and springs. You will make more power at less cylinder pressure. It will be easier on the engine.
This is what we need
What would be more safer for my 4.6 v8 that's burning oil a little. I'm not sure turbo or supercharger? I will be rebuilding the engine soon for it
Man I'm going to keep the 3.55's if I boost the motor. I love seeing top speed over zipping to 120 and being maxed out. I know for practicality maxing at lower speeds makes sense but maxing at close to 200 mph is more impressive and you kinda keep the fuel mileage aspect like that matters lol.
What were the AFRs while in boost when you had this car?
NICE LOOKING
I just got an install manual for the Vortec V3 and it says that it's designed to work with a STOCK GT. But the Vortec kit comes with 38 lb injectors and a Vortec fuel pump that needs to be installed. Apparently, the kit comes with a programmer with a tune for your ECM. So, does that mean you don't need to go to a shop to get a dyno tune?
What specific supercharger model is the one you're using.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What kind of gas mileage do you get in the city and the highway?
Can that engine handle that supercharger after 100k miles thinking it probably should have the engine rebuilt first?
What oil are you running?
What are the ecu tuning options?
What advice do you have for those of us with a 4R70 auto tranny?
Bring it to Tennessee
We can get one in
My 03 motor blew with 410 hp on safe conservative tune from Kenne Bell. Had the 2.1 kit 9lbs.
Displacement superchargers put the most strain on your motor than any other setup like a turbo or centrifugal. It's the instant torque that blows them, these engines have skinny little connecting rods stock and that's the Achilles heel
@RidinDirtyRollinBurnouts not to mention they cost hp to make hp
@@RidinDirtyRollinBurnoutsyou think this is something that can be addressed or it’s just better to go N/A with new edge
Got mine ready new motor forged internals just waiting to throw the supercharger
sick bro, if you dont mind how much did the whole build run you?
@@friendzoningNothing because he’s lying- hence no response.
How much that cosr
@@N3wbMa5t3r actually it was built the Bull shit mechanic bent me over held car hostage til I paid almost 12g's to get it back just to have it blow up few weeks later. Had another motor put in different mechanic and they showed how the last asshole crimped oil return line to cause it to starve of oil and blow.

What basic cost effective simple improvement in performance can I do to my 2004 v6 non GT ? Cruising only. Thk I hv registered on your channel.
Rear end gears. 4.10s
And gave all the sauce ingredients quick at the beginning
What about your spark plugs you run stock or a colder plug
Highly highly recommend a colder plug than stock. Brisk boost gr14ys silver is a great drop-in plug, and NGK has a great line of forced-induction plugs that work great. You want a non-projected tip if you can help it so you don't have spark blow-out when you hit higher numbers
Bought an 96 gt with v1 vortech. Almost same mods but only makes 350 whp from dyno 2 years ago. So is that right? Or is that bad? Just bought the car and I had to call for the papers for dyno
Get it re-tuned! What fuel system? That could be why it makes 350whp. My setup is maxed out now.
@@EarsPOV I’m not sure what it has. I bought it not knowing. Just know it made about 350 to the wheels 2 years ago. Just know it’s got shortys. Fuel pump and injectors. V1 but not sure the boost. Looked like it makes 5-7 psi. May just need a tune. Also wants to stall when putting the clutch in and when maxed out rmps it doesn’t hit a limiter. Just acts like it shuts fuel
96-98 GT's have non PI heads and make 40 less hp that the PI head cars from 99-04. That is where the disparity in power comes from.
@@superrocketRC it has PI heads. The motor is from a 2001
what shop in houston helped you install the vortech?
I had the blower put on in Illinois before I moved. CUNDN Racing in Pearland could do it no problem.
4.10sare great for dd NA
Which MAF sensor u suggest for similar setup as you.
MAF has to match injectors.
@@latemodelclassicsNot on modulars they don't
nice summary. so much more i want to do to my car but labor costs = $$$$$ lol
Guy taking car of my FRS rebuild right now did the blower install. Charged me 1K to put it on and that included the intercooler also. Shouldn't be no more than $1,500 worst case scenario.
You can do it yourself….
@@mogulme6190not exactly easy for beginners 😂
I just want about 450 hp. If my 04 can keep up with my 2017 I’m happy
450whp will gap a stock 2017 pretty bad.
That kind of whp in a new edge feels like a rocketship. You can bully scat packs in their rear view with 450whp, and pull away from c8 vettes from 45 rolls.
@@RidinDirtyRollinBurnoutswhat’s necessary to reach 450 whp in a stock new edge?
4.10s are king for N/A 96-04 2v Mustangs. If you're running a supercharger, you might run out of gear with 4.10s running a 1/4 mile. If you're doing highway pulls a 4.10 will definitely run out of gear. Something something math 6k rpm is about 120mph.
4.10’s run out theoretically at about 150 at 5k rpm. I have 4.10’s and 120 is like 3500. Definitely not running out of gear, but you definitely wont have the top end of 3.90’s or 3.73’s
I have 3.73 gears installed on mine I top out at 125 mph but it gets there pretty fast.
I plan to get a new edge gt, how reliable are they?
They’re pretty reliable. Their biggest flaw is they’re old and abused. Getting one that’s well kept is the most important thing you can do
@@THEWATER3UCKET ! agree
You should be able to find one in great shape. I've had mine for about 18 years. Garage Kept and I take her out maybe 4 to 5 times a year. Clear days only. Now if you plan to race, upgrades for the SN95 are very affordable and plentiful compared to other muscle cars. I personally started with the suspension. I guess I just wanted her to handle and brake better than stock. I would not play around with the stock setup. Those mustang are notorious for bump steer and it can get scary on uneven roads. Good luck on finding one and have fun when you do.
@@BullettGuy I wouldn't really race it, maybe just a few bolt-ons for Xtra umpf but mostly I like the way they look and sound with a decent exhaust setup
I have 2.73 rear gears and in 4th top out at 160 so I think all I really need is boost lmao get there quicker
What would say about stock 327 gears
Never been in a car with them so no idea.
@EarsPOV My car isn't a Mustang. But It's still a 4.6 2v, it's a lincoln town car. I do want to boost it one day when I can afford to. But at the moment, I just want more take-off power. I heard that 410 gears are a good way to wake up my car. Basic mods I have on my car are a jmod, aka a shift kit. Also changed out my exhaust pipes from the cats from 2 inch to 2 1/2 piping into an X pipe and out through a Roush axle back exhaust. And my favorite mod I have on my car is my jmschip by pedalmax. Now that doesn't add any hp or tq. But man, it opens up the throttle response from night and day. I saw reviews on it and thought that thing couldn't make that much of a difference. One day, I just pulled the trigger and said, "What the heck? I'll try it out. It said money back garrented, so I figured what do I have to lose.
I wanna go fast
Did u have to ring gap
motor has never been touched
What would u say about an automatic 2val
Nothing wrong with them I just like Manual
I have a 1998 gt with a 04 motor powerdyne blower 6 pounds of boost with cams throttle body and a few mods it made 300 to the wheel s its a automatic
Is possible I can turn auto to a manual
I thought your question was going to be... "What you want to ask yourself before you boost your car is... can you afford to buy an new engine when you boost it and blow your old engine?" --A guy who boosted his 60K mile engine and blew it told me that was a good question to ask.
Quality Long Tube Headers cost more than running 4.6 2V motors so that’s why I didn’t ask that
I built my engine before boosting it so I can't say I really have this problem lol. There's terminator guys rockin 600whp builds and daily driving them for yrs without major issue or maintenance
Is this the woodlands mall?🤔
No
U have 3.73 gears?
3.55 Gear!
@@EarsPOV is that the one that comes from the factory? Bro?
@@rlstang7276 3.27 are factory
@@johnatansanchez2298 Ah ok thanks 👍🏼
If youre going to eventually going over 600whp, big turbo, and do hw pulls, id stay with the 3.27.

How much to supercharge the car ? And why not just coyote swap for around the same price ? This question is coming from a LT4 owner, not trying to talk sh!t.
Boosting is significantly cheaper man lol I boosted & bought a forged bottom end for less than a Gen 3 Crate Motor.
You can't pull the valve covers off a 5.0 coyote with the engine in the car.
Best bet for the 96-04 would be 03-04 Terminator motor. Or built bottom end 4.6 DOHC.
4.56 rear gear ftw 😂
Ew no
Maybe on N/A. That would make a fun street car. 4th gear would run out at 100 or something.
@@latemodelclassics 128mph, which is plenty fast for roll racing. 28" tall tire and 7000 rpm is what I'm running with the 4.56
Oh man your dancing with the devil 😈

Why? Because we can, and if we can, we do 😂
Those 4.6 engines are not the best engines to add forced induction.
They almost require some sort of intercooler.
@@latemodelclassics what are u talking about
