The fact that you can do so much with the 40k lore, it's so endlessly customizable and the fact that 9 times out of ten it'll actually quite possibly *work* is a massive part of why I love 40k, it's easily one of my most fav franchises ever, new sub!

Its customisable up to a point, you can't make up goofy shit like disney did with sw, like the "bad guy factions" seemingly coming up with newvsuper weapons everytime the heroes or whatever destroying it or the seemingly infinite supply of goons and weaponry they can use to instantly turn tides and become a looming threat to the galaxy

I feel like a professor listening to a really pumped freshman giving a presentation. There’s so much fictional history to learn, it really does take years to drink it all in. That said, your enthusiasm is palpable-good stuff, man!
Just a note, 40k lore isnt cohesive from its first entry in 1987 up till now. 1 prime example being the 13nth Black Crusade (a major event in 40k), the 1st time Cadia didnt fall, Abbaddon failed and some major characters died. In the newer version, Cadia fell, Abbaddon succeeded, other characters died a death God was born and a Primarch returned
I played warhammer like 15 years ago and loved it. got priced out for a while and lost touch with it but now with you getting into it have my love for it has come back hearing about it can't wait for more videos from you

As a long time warhammer fan I have request for new people. If you see something you dont like in warhammer dont try to change it. It doesnt matter how horrible you think factions and characters are, thats the whole point, thats the charm of grimdark.

I used to paint the minis 30 years ago as a kid. I never actually played it. I just loved the character designs. A couple weeks ago, I was walking through Barnes & Noble and randomly bought Horus after the kid working that section went nuts explaining it to me lol Looking forward to reading it and following this channel 👍🏻

I think not, though? They're both so vastly different thematically that you can't really compare each other. I barely know anything about Star Wars, but I feel like I have enough common sense to know that "There's no good guys. Not even anti-heroes or moral greyness. Only different flavors of villains" is something VERY niche that wouldn't even work outside of tabletop.
@@mekingtiger9095 its hard to compare them because one started purely as a game with the setting and storyflow being secondary while star wars very much revolves around the story and that whole light vs dark dichotomy, star wars lore has being rewritten with extremely unbalanced power scaling while 40k has always stayed consistent
I have some highly geeky friends who are mega into the Star Wars / Marvel universes. Gonna sit down and watch this with them sometime! Gotta get my nerds on board to share in the utterly endless depths of 4k
cool lore. but having no main game or movie to connect and merge it all together is harming it significantly. also i don't know if this is related but, total war, has a game called total war warhammer, i don't know if its based on the warhammer 40k lore or not though.
it seems like the major draw to Warhammer is the world building. there's so much room for any idea and something to love for anyone. thanks for introducing me to this new world. loved the video
