HUD is a useful thing, if done right. I get everything I need there in my Mazda, and since the infotainment screen is on the same level, and I can operate it with the physical rotary wheel without looking, I almost never need to look down, and take my eyes off the road. Easy to use and safe.

@@piobu5357 Yeah HUD is great especially when done right. I believe every car should have it really, even Tesla Model 3 where there is nothing on your peripheral vision when looking at the road. It will be far more futuristic that Tesla wants than just having single touchscreen on the middle.
But still physical buttons and dials should be mandatory. I never thought capacitive touch is really for cars, we don't feel it. Unless they somehow developed really insane haptics that surpasses Apple. Just don't go capacitive, we have enough touchscreen already and even that I would have some physical navigation controls since it is not safe to use touchscreen that has the UI change every context or even every update.
Touchscreen works great on phones and tablets because we directly look at it, not when driving.

Mercedes has never made sport cars by itself.
Only AMG is transforming mercedes cars into sport alternatives. AMG was purchased by Mercedes, but remained independent, so they can modify as much as they want mercedes cars (in some cases they even redesigned entire engines).
Hence, when mercedes designs a car, it is not to race, but for conform and safety.

Well I drove the eqs aswell and also found the brake feel a little weird. But you can actually change the regenerative braking with the "shift pedals" so just using one pedal driving is very usable. Also I missed the sub base but maybe because I am just a 19 year old bass lover. Overall this is a very nice car for S class customers that drive for themself and maybe have a assistant always next to them. Kinda like a youtuber that travels a lot with their cutter/cameraman. It feels like its very well tuned for german roads and autobahn where you can use the great fast charging network of europe. In the US and Canada it's probably pretty lost for this, with a lack of really fast chargers. It's not a car to daily to work rather to travel from city to city

Alex is talking about the audio in the background, which I missed as I was pausing and then playing and reading, so lost what he was saying. If his scipt was laid out to use the labs data as a reference it would be better - so "Overall I enjoyed the audio in the car, it feels like it lacks a little bass response in more bass heavy tracks and this is backed up by the data from LTT Labs you can see here *insert graph* - a more in depth explanation can be found at the LTT Labs link in the description"
Just dumping these data sets in requiring a pause is complete changing how their viewers are having to interact with the video (IMO in a worse way) which I think they still need to work on. Even the editors notes in this video were so quick I had to skip back multiple times - they are funny and I like reading them (especially the bit about hitting a person on the road and being "dumb that you can't do it") but dang do they go quick.

Alex in a brand new electric Mercedes that costs $123,000 USD sitting in the back: ah yes my head is against the roof and will slam into it if we hit a bump.
I want electric vehicles to be available, especially in countries like this one where not owning a car puts you at a severe disadvantage due to lack of public transit, lack of bike paths, frequently long distances between residential and commercial zoning, and lack of sidewalks in high traffic areas. Well ideally I'd like all of those things to be fixed but since that's not gonna happen electric vehicle proliferation becomes important. Before someone like me would ever make that jump though they have to be 1)significantly less expensive 2)run as few things through a computer as humanly possible. I don't need heated seats, massage seats, a giant screen for satnav and stereo, a screen for a gauge cluster, or basically anything else that would reduce failure by not being so "futuristic". Not to be an old man here, but I've got no power steering, a manual transmission, crank windows, fully mechanical door locks, a key that doesn't require a chip to start the car, lights that have to be manually activated, a passable sound system, no ABS brakes, rotor ignition, and good fuel economy (34 city, 42 highway) and I like it.

I did timing chains since they're known to stretch and grenade the engine (this is a maintenance item), brake pads, suspension control arms, motor mounts, etc. all the normal stuff for every other car except timing chains. Timing chains were 2k job at local mechanic, 3.5K at dealer. I did it for $490. Although Mercedes screwed up many things about the EQS (capacitive touch, infotainment, rear seat comfort etc), I think the overall ride quality did not get enough credit in this video. There is no other electric car that provides such a silent, soft and just comfortable ride. Even with speeds higher than 120km/h, you can basically whisper to each other sitting in there. Especially for people traveling long distances, this comfort level paired with the nice range and charging speed gives the user a unique package. So the EQS can be the best fit for a certain target group.

The current S class will absolutely be better. But it depends on what you're reviewing, because that one is absolutely an executive's car. It won't corner. It won't go as the EQS does.
If possible, I would like a little more time devoted to "EV stuff". How does it handle charging? Does it do the advertised power? Does it handle preconditioning? How is the route/charge planning (it's supposed to be really good in the EQ series) stuff like that.
As a whole, having seen a number of reviews, I think the EQS should've been the EQE...and the current EQE should just not exist. Because this most definitely is NOT an S class, in no way.
It's also worth a mention, that pretty soon the EQS (and the S class) will be the first production cars you can order with actual, certified Level 3 autonomy capability according to EU regs. At least here in Germany , not sure about other markets. It'll be very limited (almost uselessly so) but it will be there.

@@rishabhrawat7856 Of course it’s possible. Throw it fast enough sideways into sand and it will eventually flip. The point is they tested the Mode X at speeds well above the standardised tests, for a car with a much higher centre of gravity than this. With Alex’s comments on the cars handling, the likelihood of someone being able to get this car into a situation where it could roll (especially with passengers) is incredibly low.

There are 2 errors in the video, probably because the LTT Labs bit is new:
    12:50 Top-right, "Target Frequyency Response"
    12:54 Top-right, Labels are swapped
    Also some nitpicks:
    12:57 Top-right, very inconsistent labeling
13:03 Top-right, "Individual Harmonics" is a little hard to read, maybe add an outline to the text?

honestly if a car weighs 2680Kg, it should have 6 wheels or pay 10 times the road tax. The road surface damage raises insanely steeply with heavy cars like this.

I love cars, and I love PCs. LMG is perfect for me. And I especially love that you guys aren't afraid to be really critical of the cars you review. A lot of the traditional car magazines tend to be nice to the carmakers and not mark the cars down in areas where they are bad, probably for fear that they won't get sent future models for review. I know Linus doesn't give a rat's ass about that so hooray for us, consumers!

I think LTT just became my go to car show. Please don't just do electric cars.

I honestly think that looks quite decent, especially considering how aerodynamic it is.
