OK...so what is the final verdict on these clippers? Were you happy with them? Did you have to make any adjustments? Did they draw any blood? Inquiring minds want (and need) to know before I spend money on them.
Im trying to use clippers for shaving my face. Will this one do the job? How close does it cut? How about Wahl Professional 8081 5-star Series instead of Wahl 5-Star Balding (this one)?
If you mean the rechargeable one with golden head, I dont like it because I want cord and trimmers blades last longer while those shavers heads need to be replaced. thanks though
am a barber in Kenya for ,15yrs,I have found niche Wahl clippers business. I have seen many client wants to use their own shaving clippers, the problem is that they cannot know to identify fake and genuine. I have helped many to buy one because am able to identify genuine n fake.my question is,can I get someone to trust me n supply or set a shop in Kenya so I can market the genuine Wahl clippers in Kenya. from my observations their is a huge market. thanks
As long as the blade is adjusted correctly, no, they will not cut you even without the guard as this is meant to be used. Unless your blade is WAY off, I don't see how it'd be possible to cut yourself with a guard in place. I just shaved my head for the first time using the smaller guard first so I could see what i was doing, and then went back over it without the guard for a closer cut. There are zero nicks/cuts/irritations of any kind. I did test them on my arm first before attempting without the guard.
the wahl 5 star balding clipper has a 6x0 blade (.1mm) is supposed to be closer than the oster or andis #00000 blade (.2mm) blade. I have seen a andis T Blade on amazon that says it is .1mm but most T Blades are .4ish mm blades and never bought it to compare exactly.
Lets say I bald with the Baldings, then I go in with the Shaver Shapers, will it make another line under the Baldings that I gotta take out with trimmers or are the Baldings close enough so that won't happen?
I usually use The Andis T Outliner to shave my head to get the bald look and they work great and the probably the best clippers that's I ever used, but today I found out that their not made for that their made for only outlining. So I was recommended the Wahl Balding Clippers .. I notice that there to tough for my head after I was done I had some blade burns and even a few little cuts .. Maybe I used them wrong? Does anyone know we're I can look of how to use them properly
When I was in the service I used the Wahl baldfader clipper to cut both types of hair and I was able to get similar results. Caucasian hair is not as coarse so skin tight fade (I don't do high & tight) was achieved with a lighter touch
Gemma Kalina I called Wahl when I was considering which model to buy. They informed me that the balding clipper is not intended for general hair cutting, like longer fades or tapers. Seeing the blade teeth in this video, they are smaller, so I'm thinking that's why it works best cutting right against the skin, where hairs will be forced into the teeth. Away from the skin, longer hairs will bend more and so the small teeth will not cut as efficiently. That's my theory at least.
As a balding man, I used this and got tons of hair off of me in no time snap! LOVE IT!
An excellent review! Thank you very much!

I'm about to get that clipper...those are nice
What is the difference between this model and wahl taper 2000?

i think they cut to 1/32 of an inch. i would recommend the 5 Star shaver instead.

Can you put a number 8 guard on it ?
I usually shave my head with a 3/16. Would these still cut me with the guard? I dont plan on using it without it.
if you're careful, no.

how close does it cut? specifically, cutting length in mm?

Can you use this to trim your pits and pubes? Assuming no one but me is using it.
Can I use for my personal use, is it safe ?
balding clippers are VERY sharp. if you choose to use them, do so carefully.
Thanks I am using it & very happy

cant answer that one. sorry
Can I use to trim beard
Yes. It is not designed for it but I use it instead of shaving. I also put a 1 1/2 guard on it and trim my beard.
Would you recommend using this everyday to keep your head "bald?"

Why did you change when the Andis T Outliner did work for you? Just because somone told you they are not made for shaving your head?
You gotta adjust that blade
Bien!!
Can they be used for high & tight blending on Caucasian hair or are they only suitable for afro?
