I purchased the wahl balding clipper after this review. It shaves hair off easily and without any cuts. It still leaves your head feeling like sand paper. So, I also went ahead and purchased the Andis shaver(gray with black). Here in nyc, haircut price went up from $25 to $30. I have the same buzzer and it’s a super close shave/buzz. The big teeth are so sharp the cut My scalp every time I use it. The back of my head has big scratch marks everywhere from that teeth being so sharp. I’ve been buzzing my head for 20 years and never had a clipper do this to me. The teeth will go into a hair follicle and open you up like a fillet . These are super powerful and sharp and will give you the closest cut ever but not happy with getting cut from it every time I use it
I now use clippers similar to these to shave my head to a grade zero. Its not as close as using a foil shaver but in my experience foils get damaged and have to be replaced fairly frequently whereas clippers are much more hard wearing and last longer. Also I personally don't like taking it down to skin smooth, the stubble look works best for me.
Shaved my head for the first time this morning. Used my current Wahl clippers but want a closer shave. Thanks for the review and for making bald cool. You are confidence inspiring. Much respect to you from Perth, Western Australia!

Clippers like these deliver great buzzes, but they need to be cleaned properly after each use or they will get gunked with hairs. High maintenance compared to something disposable. Good choice if you stay on top of cleaning and will save you money in the long run. Being able to clip your own hair is a great skill to have. Don't need to hit barbershop every week. It's great.
I'm 34 now, started going bald at 20 - wish I'd had a channel like this back then. Don't think YT was even around in 2006. Alas, I've had the Wahl Balding Clippers since 2010 - amazingly durable. However, I decided this week to use a razor all the time whereas in the past I've only done that now and then.
Thank you so much, today I received these clippers ,It is my first time cutting my own head , Thanks to this video that I watch 5 times to make sure I was 100 on cutting my own hair and man the results was amazing, I just got to get use to the proper way of holding the clippers. Thanks I will subscribe.
I was using The Whal Balding Clippers but I switched to the Remington Indestructible with Balder Blade Attachment. Works better. Much more safe. Same short cut.
The whal balding clippers are the ones i used when i was shaving heads for the military years ago. I still use them in the shop for the close shave but i always use the straight edge afterwards.
@@russellbogrett605 Damn! :-O I bought my WAHL BASIC LINE clipper in 2010 but I thought I have been lucky with it lasting so long. Well, glad to hear WAHL is not "all brand only" products! Thank you for your feedback
I got a set and have had to change the blades within 6 months, they only cost 16 quid. thing is with this clipper is it will cut you if you're not careful.
I've watched most of your product review videos now and I have a question, In your opinion/experience which has given you the closer head shave: 1. Philips Norelco oneblade 2. Remington Shortcut Pro 3. Wahl Balding clippers
I got this to replace my Andis which last less than 6 months... and this Wahl is insane, and I find it difficult to not cut myself. If I angle it a bit it cuts like a razor... and trimming the back part which has lumps makes it even more difficult and dangerous. AND it also burns a lot after a 35 minutes use, so I don't recommend this one. Can't go as fast as with the Andis Superliner.
Got a full set of hair right, but listen. Was at uni for 3 years, trusted no barbers. Ended up balking up for rugby, and the last touch was shaving my head. Was bald for 3 years solid man. Rocked some stubble as well with it. Lads one of the most masculine things to do in my opinion is to shave that head of yours and be your own barber for a bit. Save money and just look badass. Best thing as well to show confidence and dominance. My Friend im subscribing to this channel. Its a pleasure watching your great videos!
Not bad, but I believe the Andis T-Outliner is the way to go. Judging from this video, I’m positive it gets closer. If you are like me and want the closest you can get without having to use the razor method. Just my 2 pennies.
T outliner is great and gets it close but you will burn out the motor if you use it regularly. If you zero gap these Wahl clippers they get you down to the scalp and you can finish with a foil shaver to smooth things out.
@@allisonwendell9942 I’ve been using my T-outliner for close to 15 years and it is still going strong with great care and maintenance. Been shaving my head with it for about 7 years. When I got it I still had hair so it was bought for cleaning up around face and neck and chest grooming.
@@allisonwendell9942 I had to look to see if I still had a trail of when I bought it. I bought the Andis t-trimmer on November 6 ,2007 via amazon. It’s still shows it on my account purchases. I’ve definitely got my moneys worth out of mine.
Pretty good clippers for achieving a buzzcut. I grew up getting a buzzcut with a zero guard so i know all about the Wahl balding clippers. Great review Harry
I use the Andis T outliners and have a foil shaver for my lower neck area where I tend to get hair bumps. I still have a decent amount of hair, its my hairline where the problem lies so cutting it down to a zero works for me. Eventually the more is goes I will have to go full foil or even wet shave one day.
Thanks for the review! You just saved me $70! A few years ago I got Wahl close cut clippers for like $11 and that works nearly as good very cheaply. I wish you could buy replacement blades affordably.
@@reddubby they good for the overall bald look… but for a ultra close smooth shave, I need to finish with a straight edge razor, after using the clippers or a shaver.
Had mine for over 15 years now and still going strong with weekly use, One of my better investments and would replace them with identical ones if they died
best review with practic show as well , keep strong brotha !You are one of the few that actually showed the product in action ,Now this ,this is special .respect for what you do .
Baldcafe, great demonstration and thank you so much for playing the background music softly. Loud music is noise and is extremely distracting and annoying. Once again, thanks for posting.
Great review. If honest, I find any clippers will do the job! I have used a stubble trimmer before if I am out travelling 2 in 1 that way, lol. Also, I avoid wired clippers, they get in my way and are harder to plug in in certain hotels etc! Get one with both options (rechargeable and mains!)
@@Baldcafe That is good, I find the blades will lose their sharpness after 6 - 12 months with any clipper(s). I have used many brands and I always replace mine after a year to ensure the best cutting. Most come with a year warranty too, which you could use if they do not cut as well etc. :)
@@Baldcafe Yeah that is right. My partner bought me a new pair for Christmas and at first they were 'wow', super sharp, great cut! 5/6 months later, still very good but not at good. The more you use clippers the more you notice small things like that (sad I know, lol!) My advice is to compare some, use reviews (like yours and others) but if honest, they all are the same. What I like about mine is the 'quick charge mode' you can power them up for one minute to get 3/5 mins of power - that time when you are half way through a cut and think 'sugar, the battery is dead'! As said mains and battery option is best, best of both worlds. You do not need to spend big I never pay more than around £20 or $30 for a good pair. I have bought expensive ones before and they are actually rubbish! Keep up the good work sir :)
Enjoyed your channel, you convinced me it was time to cut it all off, now I'm looking for similar clippers that's cordless... the weight on the corded one does get tiring
I am using Samsung clipper 4 years now,you don’t need the cable, just charge it and use it at least 3 times before charge it again.Much more light weighted than this product you showed.
You should review the Remington Quick Cut, quickest way to buzz your head. Been using them for years, they are a great wireless trimmer and get pretty close with no guard. They have a wide curved trimmer so takes a few minutes to buzz your head.
@@Baldcafe Haha great, you will love them, effortless head buzzing. I look forward to your thoughts on it. You could buzz your head much quicker than you did using these balding clippers.
Another amazing review & glad you didn't just skip to the end. Fantastic. Just waiting for another balder fav the andis t-outliner clipper review from you but not straight out of the box but after zero gapping it from a barber or so. Thank you sir for your amazing work.
Very true, not for baby smooth shaved head. This would be great for people with full head of hair and not ones with receding hair lines. Personally I will stick with my hot shower 2mins shave using a twin blade disposable :)
I have this and it works great but it is definitely a bit heavy and sort of a pain to hook up and use every time I need to shave so I just ordered the Remington Balder Pro (after watching your vid among many) so we'll see how that goes.
Hi i try to keep my head shaved bald do these Clippers keep your head shaved Bald? Or will i still have to go over my head with a Razor and shaving Cream?
@@adampruitt9211 Look up andis foil shaver. It's an electric shaver that leaves your head or face baby smooth. Similar to using a razor.

I'm glad you liked the clipper! The only problem I have with it is that it's a bit heavy, and fear...fear of cutting my god damn ear off. This thing is sharp! I'm impressed how well you handled it, it looked like you've done this hundreds of times before haha.
All clippers have a moving (cutting blade) and a stationary non moving blade. The non-moving blade is there for two major reasons. 1) to cut hair caught in it by having the moving blade pass over it. 2) It also protects your head and neck from getting mauled by the moving blade. Imagine having just the moving blade against your skin! You would be a bloody hacked up mess! And the cut would be an uneven mess. So if the stationary blade is necessary by design, how could anyone expect a shiny bald shave with clippers? The bottom blade can not be 0 thickness. That is mechanically impossible. These clippers are intended to give a closer than 0 or even 000 clipper cut for fades and for the bald look. If the blades are aligned correctly, and you use it at angles like a razor, these can shave your hair to a 000000 or 0.1 to 0.2 mm. That is effectively the growth a day or two after a wet shave. To compare, a standard closed 0 will cut hair to 1/16 inch (1.5 mm) or if zero gapped around 1/32 of an inch (0.8 mm), an Oster 000 will cut to 1/50 inch or 0.5 mm. If you want smooth bald without the hassle of a wet shave get a foil shaver like the Andis Profile foil shaver, or a Whal Finale. Foil shavers are designed differently and can get closer to smooth, but the hair being cut should be very short (0 or so) before using them.
I agree, this is as close to bald as you can get with a machine. You could follow up your 00000 cut with a foil shaver or razor for a true bald look. Perhaps the name is a bit misleading to some, calling it a balding shaver. Not everyone has enough knowledge about clippers to know that you can’t truly get a razor like bald effect with a pair of clippers. There has to be a fixed blade on it, like you said and so there will always be something, even .01mm of hair as a result.
I have a Wahl Designer. They actually get you shaved down to about a day or two worth of growth (especially when you adjust them to zero gap) for about 30 dollars less than this Wahl Balding Clippers. I still want one though.
First of all I subscribed, then I went on Amazon to search for these clippers in Canada. Thanks man. Just the way how you shaved your head was also very useful for me
I have these clippers. I've not been blessed with a good shaped head, so I can't go too bald, so these are good for me but the cut isn't smooth as I would like. I probably need to finish up an Andis TS1
Buddy. You have next-level self-shaving skills. And you’re fearless. I have the same shaver-and I agree it’s top-quality all around, but I find the bare blades too sharp. Although after watching your video I’m inspired to try again. Cheers,
That would be nice development. I have been speaking to a guy who said he'd like to just go for it live on the podcast but I'm not sure if he has cold feet just now. I can't force anyone but it would be an inspiring moment to share for sure.
The Wahl Balding clipper is specified with 0,4 mm in 0 while the Andis Fade Gold with 0,2mm. Did you ever try this clipper, would it be an even better balding clipper?
I've used these before, you have to make sure they're fully zero gapped to get the super close shave though you then run the risk of cutting yourself as they're so sharp!

I just bought these and I'm somewhat dissapointed, to be honest. People describe them as a game changer, and that they shave right down to the skin. It's simply a fact that they don't. Sure it's a nice satisfying razer to use, but it doesn't do much better than a random pair of philips trimmers I have.
watched a bunch of your videos about how good the guys feel when they finally shave there head, last night was my moment, what everyone says is very true ! i feel great !
My wife just bought me these for my birthday but I cannot find a way to adjust them. I know that you said in the video that you will be showing us another video how to adjust it, but I couldn't find it. Can you please post the link here?
I’m afraid to say I never posted that but I absolutely should. Simply use a Phillips screwdriver and lose. The screws that holds the two blades together. Align the blades as you want and tighten again. Make sure the cutting blade isn’t “over” the blade on the bottom 👍
I had it before, and this is how I felt: it's dangerous and you can easily cut yourself, it does give a closer shave than other clippers but still a lot worse than a foil, rotary or a blade, it also takes a long time and not easy to use and clean on your own, well obviously they are for "professional" use, by barbers, not by balding men lol
I thought they were pretty decent if its just a close buzz cut you are after. Not comparable to a wet shave of course but for a weekly buzz id say you can't go wrong.
I ordered one of these on the wahl Uk phone line , it kept snagging into my scalp and it was agony and made me bleed , they’re lethal I won’t be using it again 😟
What I don't like of Wahl clippers is that jumps when you use it in the neck. Don't know if is the surface finish or cos the surface is flat. Have Wahl Magic and Moser 1400 and don't have that problem with the Moser.
Yeah I can't be dealing with that loss of power half way though and my lack of patience 😂 These will be the Bald Cafe tool of choice when we hit the streets!
@@Baldcafe Ive gone through one to many cordless shavers! The batteries always go dead after a while! I tossed my last pair put and said no more! Iam a corded man for life!😊

I i told someone else the following..... I think it comes down to 3 things, sharpness, closeness and power. I've had no problem with cuts nor rashes. My closest clippers were for my beard, this cuts way closer. Also it has never snagged/pulled on hairs ( I use my regular clippers to do general beard work and if I go too fast it will snag, I'm certain wahl balding would rip though it with no issues). I've told others take a good minute and make sure the blade is PROPERLY lined up and all will be good. Regarding the final look, people said they thought I has shaving, in fact when I started using a razor nobody noticed a difference (obviously there is a difference, but it seems others cant tell that easily)
I have a pair of Wahl Designer clippers given to me by a barber friend of mine. I asked her if she knew about these after seeing your video and she didn't know about them! Now I'm wondering and thinking that these probably cut even closer than mine. Do you think that's the case? Wahl makes so many types of these clippers that it's confusing! You would think they'd all cut the same without the guards and they just named this one Balding to appeal to this market. But maybe not?!
I didn't edit the head shave because I wanted to show how easy/difficult it was to get an even all over head shave doing it yourself with this product. I feel like a lot of guys who might watch this might be in that position so thought it would be helpful. 👍

I was using The Whal Balding Clippers but I switched to the Remington Indestructible with Balder Blade Attachment. Works better. Much more safe. Same short cut.
Definitely going to look into that. Thank you!
The whal balding clippers are the ones i used when i was shaving heads for the military years ago. I still use them in
the shop for the close shave but i always use the straight edge afterwards.
How long have they lasted you?
@@Baldcafe i bought the ones i have now about 20 years ago.
@@russellbogrett605 Damn! :-O I bought my WAHL BASIC LINE clipper in 2010 but I thought I have been lucky with it lasting so long. Well, glad to hear WAHL is not "all brand only" products! Thank you for your feedback
I know for a fact that the Wahl five star trimmers cut closer than these. The blade surface is smaller but the cut is closer. Good vid.
I got a set and have had to change the blades within 6 months, they only cost 16 quid. thing is with this clipper is it will cut you if you're not careful.
I've watched most of your product review videos now and I have a question, In your opinion/experience which has given you the closer head shave:
1. Philips Norelco oneblade
2. Remington Shortcut Pro
3. Wahl Balding clippers
Oneblade, without question. Then the Wahl, then Remington.
I totally agree! OUCH
Thanks for the review. I have these and I am happy with them.
Frank Diebolt My pleasure, seems like a really great piece of kit.
I purchased this one. Like the length it cuts but hate how heavy it is.
Not bad, but I believe the Andis T-Outliner is the way to go. Judging from this video, I’m positive it gets closer. If you are like me and want the closest you can get without having to use the razor method. Just my 2 pennies.
There are a lot of fans of the Andis products. I will have to get my hands on a set and compare 👍.
@@allisonwendell9942 yup thats exactly what I do
Pretty good clippers for achieving a buzzcut. I grew up getting a buzzcut with a zero guard so i know all about the Wahl balding clippers. Great review Harry
Thank you 🙏
Been debating between getting these sets for personal use or just continue with my barber
Looking forward to my transformation
10:52 This was exactly what I needed to know. I think everyone will agree.
Yeah man its all about finding the best look/routine/products that you like using and just enjoying it
Thanks for the review! You just saved me $70! A few years ago I got Wahl close cut clippers for like $11 and that works nearly as good very cheaply. I wish you could buy replacement blades affordably.
Someone told me they had these for years, & uses every 2 days. Hear they’re amazing
That was my question how times you can use how close it the stubble us for them to cut close?
@@reddubby they good for the overall bald look… but for a ultra close smooth shave, I need to finish with a straight edge razor, after using the clippers or a shaver.
Just curious, I couldn’t find the video where you made the adjustment to the clippers. Cheers!
I found that out of the box, they were not nearly close enough, I needed to re-align the blades. Once that was done... they did a decent job.
Ye a did mine too.
How do you do the adjustment?
Had mine for over 15 years now and still going strong with weekly use, One of my better investments and would replace them with identical ones if they died
best review with practic show as well , keep strong brotha !You are one of the few that actually showed the product in action ,Now this ,this is special .respect for what you do .
Baldcafe, great demonstration and thank you so much for playing the background music softly. Loud music is noise and is extremely distracting and annoying. Once again, thanks for posting.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching
I agree. The man thing I liked about these is they honestly felt like they would last a lifetime.
@@Baldcafe That is good, I find the blades will lose their sharpness after 6 - 12 months with any clipper(s). I have used many brands and I always replace mine after a year to ensure the best cutting. Most come with a year warranty too, which you could use if they do not cut as well etc. :)
tips on tips 👍 yeah some of that side and back of the head hair can be pretty tough I can imagine they would need replacing or maybe even sharpening 🤔
This is awesome. I don’t like the wet shave look but have been looking for clippers that get extremely close. Going to order some now
I am using Samsung clipper 4 years now,you don’t need the cable, just charge it and use it at least 3 times before charge it again.Much more light weighted than this product you showed.
Thats good man. Glad you found the right product for you 👍 good stuff.
You should review the Remington Quick Cut, quickest way to buzz your head. Been using them for years, they are a great wireless trimmer and get pretty close with no guard. They have a wide curved trimmer so takes a few minutes to buzz your head.
Yes! Those will also be reviewed soon. They are currently sat on my fridge un opened 😆
My pleasure man. Lots and lots more product reviews to come in the future. A lot of And is fans out there 👍
Very true, not for baby smooth shaved head.
I just picked these up today. I'm using em for the 1st time tonight. I can't wait. Good review brotha!
What do you think? Do you still use the wahl balding clippers?
Hi i try to keep my head shaved bald do these Clippers keep your head shaved Bald? Or will i still have to go over my head with a Razor and shaving Cream?
@@adampruitt9211 Wahl balding leaves a sandpaper feeling to your head. You will still need to shave with razor or in my case a foil shaver.
@@zeroman155 what is a foil shaver?
@@adampruitt9211 Look up andis foil shaver. It's an electric shaver that leaves your head or face baby smooth. Similar to using a razor.
I personally use Wahl clippers, but not the "balding" branded ones. They seem to work just fine to get the hair down short enough for me to wet shave.
I'm glad you liked the clipper! The only problem I have with it is that it's a bit heavy, and fear...fear of cutting my god damn ear off. This thing is sharp! I'm impressed how well you handled it, it looked like you've done this hundreds of times before haha.
Yeah that was my only concern. They were quite weighted. it means quality w=but after 5/10 mins a little heavy.
I have got few razor bumps from it. Will use comb attachment. Or use aloe Vera gel on the bare blades to lubricate!
You should of brushed it to see how short it was getting and pull you’re skin so it gets closer
I have a Wahl Designer.
They actually get you shaved down to about a day or two worth of growth (especially when you adjust them to zero gap) for about 30 dollars less than this Wahl Balding Clippers. I still want one though.
Wahl certainly make some good stuff!
They break too easily
Yep, was very much encourage to do it myself but with a different brand/model from xiaomi.
Thank you.. I was waiting for this review since a long time.. Now it's happened.. Thank U...
The pleasure is mine man I hope you liked it.
Nice video man! Wahl is beautiful! It work!👍
Thanks man
Buddy. You have next-level self-shaving skills. And you’re fearless. I have the same shaver-and I agree it’s top-quality all around, but I find the bare blades too sharp. Although after watching your video I’m inspired to try again. Cheers,
I’m not impressed with them, but I enjoy listening to you talk
The position of the machine its the key!
do the gamma+ absolute hitter trimmer !
These clippers are lethal! Good but lethal if you don't know what you're doing!
Slowly slowly catchy monkey!/ Build up that skill and you will be a master!
wet razor shave is the best
Yeah its my preference now too.
This video is really excellent, you look great with your head shaved
guys don't forget to disinfect your scalp after you do this with some aftershave or something.
You should ask for volunteers to be shaved in your videos...
That would be nice development. I have been speaking to a guy who said he'd like to just go for it live on the podcast but I'm not sure if he has cold feet just now. I can't force anyone but it would be an inspiring moment to share for sure.
I agree. It's very popular. The ones I've watched have received 100s or 1000s of views. @@Baldcafe
Very interesting, you use only one hand to cut. You have a great practice! 👍🏻
How would you use 2 hands?
STEVE W-K 😁! I change the machine in both hands, left side with left hand and right side with right hand!😄
Also if you're ever in Bristol make sure you have them on you, would definitely convince me!
Oh nice! Bristol not far at all prom me and I spend most of my time between Plymouth and Southampton. Follow me on insta and I'll hold you to that 😆
im 20 and actually have always loved the bald look. Sometimes I cant wait to lose my hair so i can shave it lol. I just hope I have a good head shape like you do
Embrace it man and go for whatever you like. Most men can suit the look no problem 👍

Thanks bud for your review. Did you get any small cuts, any bleeding at all with these clippers?
I like it to feel like sandpaper afterwards, is that the case here?
Yes, that is the case with the wahl clipper. Your head will feel like sandpaper afterwards. It's not a complete shave.
Thanks for sharing, I'm going to pick up a set in a few minutes 👴
I just bought these and I'm somewhat dissapointed, to be honest. People describe them as a game changer, and that they shave right down to the skin. It's simply a fact that they don't. Sure it's a nice satisfying razer to use, but it doesn't do much better than a random pair of philips trimmers I have.
not bad, but not much better than an ordinary 20-30 dollar clipper. doesnt cost to much more at seems to be around 50 dollars though.
1st timer here! Just bought a set of these wish me luck 🙏🙏

Thank you! Great review. Quick and to the point. I’ll buy this product.
@@Baldcafe thanks very much, I'll try it.
I ordered one of these on the wahl Uk phone line , it kept snagging into my scalp and it was agony and made me bleed , they’re lethal I won’t be using it again 😟
straight to my bookmarks. thanks dude
What I don't like of Wahl clippers is that jumps when you use it in the neck. Don't know if is the surface finish or cos the surface is flat. Have Wahl Magic and Moser 1400 and don't have that problem with the Moser.
Great vid. You’ve earned yourself another subscriber.
Thank you 🙏 glad your enjoyed it and welcome to the channel 😆
Do you recommend a scalp specific sunscreen? I don’t want to smell like the beach every day. Thanks!
Great Review! I own a pair Wahl Clippers to keep my beard in order! They make great products! Agree corded is the way to go!😊
Yeah I can't be dealing with that loss of power half way though and my lack of patience 😂 These will be the Bald Cafe tool of choice when we hit the streets!
@@Baldcafe Ive gone through one to many cordless shavers! The batteries always go dead after a while! I tossed my last pair put and said no more! Iam a corded man for life!😊

nothing beats gillette fusion hehe
Yup and the razor bumps that comes with it 😅
I bought my first set of wahl clippers , the elite pro, and they were useless. I have very thin hair as it is and they struggled to cut through it. Been looking for a decent set for some time now, hoping these will be the answer I'm looking for
I i told someone else the following.....
